George H.W. Bush Says He Did Not Agree to Diplomatic Mission With Bill Clinton

Nope, wouldn’t be prudent.

Former President George H.W. Bush is taking issue with statements made by Bill Clinton Monday that the duo would embark on a mission of diplomacy around the world if his wife is elected president.

Clinton reportedly made the statements in South Carolina, saying he and Bush would spread the message that “America is open for business and cooperation again,” implying that the former president would need to swoop in to repair diplomatic damage wrought by his son.

But George H.W. Bush’s Chief of Staff Jean Becker released a statement Tuesday saying he and Clinton have made no such plans - even though the two have grown close through charity work since their 1992 presidential election match up.

“Former President Bush wholeheartedly supports the president of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an ‘around -the-world mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of home for freedom and democracy,” Becker said. “President Bush is excited about several of the excellent Republican candidates running for President, and looks forward to supporting their candidacy once the Republican nominee is determined.”

Clinton’s comments were just his latest candid assessment of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

In an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS Friday, Clinton played down expectations for his wife’s performance in the Iowa caucuses, saying it is a “miracle” she even has a chance in that state.

He also criticized rival Barack Obama as being too inexperienced to run for president and said voters would be taking a risk with him in the White House.

Lee, Bush Sr’s memory is fine. But I do recall Hillary having failed memories when being questioned by congress a few years back. Bill on the other hand may just of concluded that If he did not say no, just must mean yes. Worked with his mistresses, didn’t it?

If Bill Clinton really cared about America, he would propose this trip regardless of who is president.

I agree with alot of what both sides of the fence have said here in regards to the Clinton’s ambitious effort to get back on Pennsylvania Ave., and that things don’t appear economically as good as they did in the 90’s. But let’s not forget a couple of very important things, the dot com. years and money that boosted the false 90’s financial statement, where is all that money now???? And, we haven’t had any attacks on our HOMELAND since 9-11-01. You have to admit to liking that part. I hate the war as much as any flaming lib, but terrorism is a real threat, and I will selfishly admit, I prefer the fighting to be in the Middle East to New York City. An NO, the the nice extremest terrorists won’t just leave us alone if we pull out of Iraq. They would blow us up today if they had even just a little chance. A lot of people have forgoten this. Get a grip and search back in your memories just a “little bit”.

Merry Christmas

One more thing. This is an addition to the poster who listed the real reasons Bill Clinton “balanced the budget” You left out that he factored in the settlement money won from the lawsuit against the tobacco companies. Way to work the numbers Bill.

I was almost heartened to read so many comments from people who sound intelligent and who see the Clintons for what they really are. Then I was reminded by one comment that this is a Republican biased site and this information will be covered up and misconstrued by every other media outlet out there. Is there nothing we can do? America has been a blind hostage for decades to the liberal media. It as a true miracle there has been any Republicans or people of value elected through the last few decades with the twisted and biased information forced fed to us.

While McCann may be a good candidate, I do believe he suffers from
Post Traumatic Stress sydrome.

Why is it the Guiliani can swap wives, lie cheat and divorce??? Gingrich can ask his wife for a divorce on her death bed???? Bush can lie to the country, send our troops to war, and basically act outside of the constitution?? And no one cares to acknowledge it. You always have to go back to Clinton to pck on.

Another thing if George Bush is what experience gives you, I will tke Barack Obama any day, at least he is brilliant and he listens. This country has a cowboy mentality and you love the image of Ronald Reagan swinging an ax all while he had alzheimer’s. And his wife consulting a psychic so he can make decisions at the right time.

Give me Hillary, Barack, John Edwards or John Kerry anytime over those lying, in denial Republicans.

McCain is hands down the most experienced candidate on either side. He has a record that proves he can run our nation WELL and keep us SAFE.
