George H.W. Bush Says He Did Not Agree to Diplomatic Mission With Bill Clinton
Nope, wouldn’t be prudent.
Former President George H.W. Bush is taking issue with statements made by Bill Clinton Monday that the duo would embark on a mission of diplomacy around the world if his wife is elected president.
Clinton reportedly made the statements in South Carolina, saying he and Bush would spread the message that “America is open for business and cooperation again,” implying that the former president would need to swoop in to repair diplomatic damage wrought by his son.

But George H.W. Bush’s Chief of Staff Jean Becker released a statement Tuesday saying he and Clinton have made no such plans - even though the two have grown close through charity work since their 1992 presidential election match up.
“Former President Bush wholeheartedly supports the president of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an ‘around -the-world mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of home for freedom and democracy,” Becker said. “President Bush is excited about several of the excellent Republican candidates running for President, and looks forward to supporting their candidacy once the Republican nominee is determined.”
Clinton’s comments were just his latest candid assessment of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
In an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS Friday, Clinton played down expectations for his wife’s performance in the Iowa caucuses, saying it is a “miracle” she even has a chance in that state.
He also criticized rival Barack Obama as being too inexperienced to run for president and said voters would be taking a risk with him in the White House.

I speak as a former “yellow dog” Democrat. Every day, I find less to respect in the Democratic Party. I don’t think my values have changed but theirs certainly have. I had respect for Bill Clinton, once. It was strained by the whole Monica thing, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and I respected him when he refused to “blame America first” for 911. A position which he has faded from, apparently.
But this is the last straw. Putting GHWB (41) in a position where some would think he has denied his son and forcing him to make such a statement denying Clinton’s remark is despicable. GHWB has reacted as only a gentleman would, with very polite refutation and a clear statement of his own true position. It is better than Clinton deserves, in my opinion.
McCain/Giuliani in 2008!
This reminds me of the story about the animal that was talked into giving a deadly scorpion a ride across the river. Half way across the river the scorpion bit the animal. The animal asked, “Why, now we are both going to die?” The scorpion replied.”You knew what I was when you agreed to take me across. What did you expect.” Sometimes the story is told with a deadly snake instead of a scorpion and a snake might be more appropriate in the case fo Clinton.
Open Senator Clintons whitehouse documents and let the public see her vast experience.
Who is surprised that Slick Willy would lie? If anyone is left in the world that would beleive anything either Hillary or Bill Clinton said about anything they need help! What has become of the Democratic party?
We do not need another Clinton in the White House, Nor another Bush.
Remember we had a Republican Congress when Bill was president thanks to Hillary’s wonderful socialist medical plan. Think how great things might have been if Bill had stuck to business all of the time.
The House of Representatives controls the budget and must originate all spending bills. The Republican House in the 90’s held the line on spending. Too Bad they are now acting more like big government “liberals”. Liberal = Socialist=disaster.
I love how politicians ’speak’ for others! The public better remember that his political agenda does not match the lies he repeats and gets himself caught in. The military fears another return to Clintonism and most of the Republican candidates MINUS Ron Paul and his Dennis Kucinich-logically applied foreign policy are talking specifics on issues. I’m glad Daddy Bush spoke up; probably had Barbara upset too!
Can’t we find another family with 300 million Americans.
Old Slick Willey is up to his old tricks again !

I think goes without saying that George the elder DID NOT agree to any such thing.
