George H.W. Bush Says He Did Not Agree to Diplomatic Mission With Bill Clinton

Nope, wouldn’t be prudent.

Former President George H.W. Bush is taking issue with statements made by Bill Clinton Monday that the duo would embark on a mission of diplomacy around the world if his wife is elected president.

Clinton reportedly made the statements in South Carolina, saying he and Bush would spread the message that “America is open for business and cooperation again,” implying that the former president would need to swoop in to repair diplomatic damage wrought by his son.

But George H.W. Bush’s Chief of Staff Jean Becker released a statement Tuesday saying he and Clinton have made no such plans - even though the two have grown close through charity work since their 1992 presidential election match up.

“Former President Bush wholeheartedly supports the president of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an ‘around -the-world mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of home for freedom and democracy,” Becker said. “President Bush is excited about several of the excellent Republican candidates running for President, and looks forward to supporting their candidacy once the Republican nominee is determined.”

Clinton’s comments were just his latest candid assessment of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

In an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS Friday, Clinton played down expectations for his wife’s performance in the Iowa caucuses, saying it is a “miracle” she even has a chance in that state.

He also criticized rival Barack Obama as being too inexperienced to run for president and said voters would be taking a risk with him in the White House.

Why are we in any other country. That guy up there was right, we take care of the enemy better than we do our on people. What has this world come to? Quit the killing, I don’t what someone did to us, we already got them back. They want us out of there country, so why don’t we get out? It’s all about money and oil, anyone who supports the war is a moron and is blind.

I challenge anyone on here that is accusing George Bush of warcrimes to look in the text of the geneva conventions and pull out anything that could be used to support that allegation. Simply stating the same old accusatory tired rhetoric does not make it factual. Maybe instead of making wild accusations of war crimes, you should spend some time with your nose in the text of the geneva conventions and review the stipulations that are actually in there.

Bill Clinton is 50% right: voters would be taking too big a risk with Obama. The other 50% is that voters would be taking too big a risk with Hillary.

You scare me with your love and emotional feelings….

Bush 41 and Cliton were asked by Bush 43 to go and work together. That does not mean Bush 41 likes to work with Clinton or he belives in the cause.

Bill Clinton was impeached for purgery. You can not be a lawyer and the president and lie under oath.

You guys like to egxagerate things because you just hate anything that goes againts your emotioanal feelings. Like to call Bush a war criminal but please go ahead a name the specific crime why dont you? Spell it out for us. The geniva convention has guildlines for treatment of enemy soliders and the people we are fighting have no uniform, no one to claim them and no nation to negotiate with. We still treat them good considering they themselves have no agreement to the geneva conventions.

We treat the emey (the people that suport the idea of killing us) much better than they treat our own. Why dont you call them war criminals for cutting peoples heads of on TV? They kill the innocent and torture with please and purpose. If the war haters would channel their hate energy into ending the war with victor it would be over alot sooner. Go protest the war over in iraq why dont you? Forget about ignoring the enemy and think if we smile and hold their hands they will like us. There are very bad people in the world and if we just stick our head in the sand they will come after us. Think of our world as a neighborhood and the US as your family. Why dont you help clean up our town and stop undermining our own house.

Try rooting for our side for a change.

I have never in my life seen so much backwards thinking!
You all scare me with your lack of knowledge and love of propaganda.

Perhaps you are not aware, Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton have done several goodwill tours around the world together and this would not be a far fetched idea for them to continue.

You bring up impeachment of Clinton, over an affair. But seemingly lack the knowledge that Bush Jr , has commited war crimes as laid out by the Geneva Conventions and the articles of the Nuremberg Trials. That is an impeachable offence and he could (though highly unlikely) be put on trial for war crimes after he leaves office.

I’ll take my chances with a person who taught constitutional law for 10 years. I like that he worked as
a community organizer helping to make things better for people who are not effectively helped by the
status quo. I like that he isn’t addicted to foods that keep the cost of health care disastrously high.
