George H.W. Bush Says He Did Not Agree to Diplomatic Mission With Bill Clinton
Nope, wouldn’t be prudent.
Former President George H.W. Bush is taking issue with statements made by Bill Clinton Monday that the duo would embark on a mission of diplomacy around the world if his wife is elected president.
Clinton reportedly made the statements in South Carolina, saying he and Bush would spread the message that “America is open for business and cooperation again,” implying that the former president would need to swoop in to repair diplomatic damage wrought by his son.

But George H.W. Bush’s Chief of Staff Jean Becker released a statement Tuesday saying he and Clinton have made no such plans - even though the two have grown close through charity work since their 1992 presidential election match up.
“Former President Bush wholeheartedly supports the president of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an ‘around -the-world mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of home for freedom and democracy,” Becker said. “President Bush is excited about several of the excellent Republican candidates running for President, and looks forward to supporting their candidacy once the Republican nominee is determined.”
Clinton’s comments were just his latest candid assessment of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
In an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS Friday, Clinton played down expectations for his wife’s performance in the Iowa caucuses, saying it is a “miracle” she even has a chance in that state.
He also criticized rival Barack Obama as being too inexperienced to run for president and said voters would be taking a risk with him in the White House.

Typical Bill Clinton…as as always, the media doesn’t call him on his false statements. When will they acknowledge that the man is a serial liar and wouldn’t know the truth if he stepped in it. I will be very happy to see them put away and just become a bad past memory
Politicians are politicians. I am a registered Republican. I don’t always vote republican, I always vote my Heart. I believe this country needs a change, that is why by some fluke the NEVER-WAS McCain wins and Romney is out, I may just vote for Obama. I agree with Misplaced Southerner America is built from the Underdogs who fled. I have Ancestors who fought at Bunker Hill, I have ancestors that came fleeing War in other Countries. That were forced to move around the country because of biases against people.
George W Bush, may not be the smartest man ever elected, but he is by far the most sincere I have seen. Bill Clinton was a charismatic leader, who balanced the budget at the cost of our military strength. And now I don’t think if we had balanced the Budget 9-11 wouldn’t have happened. I don’t think the Clintons are evil, however I don’t think I would vote for Hillary based on her policies or who her husband is.
Clinton didn’t deliver on all his campaign promises and neither has any President. The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill. If you want to remember the Fairy Tale time when Prince Clinton ruled the land and all was wonderful that is what you will always see.
However when it comes to international relations Bill did little to build America’s reputation and strengten the coalition bonds that Pres. George H.W. Bush forged during the Gulf conflict, which could have helped us to get out of Iraq years ago.
What I find truly irresponsible and tragicially ironic is that when everybody thought there were WMD in Iraq both aisles were onboard. However once things took a slight dip in Iraq and no WMDs were discovered, Senators like Hillary Clinton flipped position completely. Dems now say “I always thought the War in Iraq was bad! It is all Bush’s fault.” Whereas the Republicans are responsibly trying to deal with the situation as is.
It is not warmongering to realisticially see the World as it is. The days of an Isolationist America are over. Isolationism now would mean abadoning giving food, medical supplies etc to people all over the world. I agree we need to have more restraint in some cases, but wishing for the past is just going to leave wishing and is a victim mentality.
If you want America to change go vote! So you and I can leave the rhetoric to the speech writers.

One last thing quote “And for those who don’t believe the war in Iraq is about Oil then look at what it has costed you to put gas in your car, It was not even a year ago that everyone was worried that gas was going to cost 3 dollars a gallon for gas.”
If you truly believe that, where is the advantage? If we invaded Iraq for oil as you say where has it shown a benefit?
It is not warmongering to realisticially see the World as it is. In Nixon’s time wasn’t gas 77 cents a gallon we should re-elect him. Oh wait he has passed on.
Gas prices have nothing to do with who is President. And you can’t base their success as a President on that!

If you really think you Brent would do a better job in the White House to the point where you could justifiably call President Bush a “retard” I encourage you to do so.
Clinton didn’t deliver on all his campaign promises and neither has any President. The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill, Brent. If you want to remember the Fairy Tale time when Prince Clinton ruled the land and all was wonderful that is what you will always see.

Will someone please tell me what experience is “required” to run for any office. I know that lying is a prerequisite for any political office but beyond that, what experience is required or needed? If lying is all that’s needed then Hillary was taught by a master liar in Mr. Bill who is running for a third term. Define “is”.
Brent’s an idiot!
On a long flight back to Texas, I was seated next a man who is a high ranking boarder official. He also spent a lot of time in Asia Minor, is fluent in Arabic and Spanish, and he just finished his book about the Navy Seal who was a sole survivor from an ambush. (The local town protected and hid the navy seal, sent a carrier out the US to inform us where our soldier was, placing their town at risk). This man is a proud Conservative, has served our nation his entire adult life, and changed my views in several areas. Of the many points he made, two seem appropriate for this listing…
1) Don’t vote your party, vote the candidate, and actually do some research on their websites, where you can find postings and links to their issues, and not rely on news media which have already picked their dog for this fight.
2) Due to his extensive time in Iraq and else-where in the region, he knows the politics and history very well. According to him, going into Iraq was about money (oil) and about having an Ally and bases in the Middle East other than Israel. Washington knew exactly what it was doing when it entered this war, they just didn’t plan it out, (maybe we should have read Sun Tzu’s book…) Personally, I was all for going into Afghanistan, but I knew that we didn’t have the military numbers to go into Iraq. Why did I know this? Because one of Fox News’ favorite stories was how Clinton shut down too many of our military bases. But where does the blame go? To Clinton for shutting down bases in order to fix the financial status of our country, or to Bush for not listening to Generals whom informed our President that our military was too depleted? I say we blame both, because it was both their faults.
As for their recent comments, politics as usual, and I bet win or loose or whatever, they will join up and go around the world anyway, so who cares.
I’ll tell you what I do care about though. Ignorant people who think first, that an American Muslim is a bad thing, and second that by calling a Candidate one who is not and mentioning Sept 11th in the same sentence will some how discredit him. If you seriously believe that Obama is a Muslim conspirarist, then you deserve to have your government food stamps taken away… But as anyone can see, both posts from Cathy and Sue are from the same person. Most likely a college drop out working on a campaign or some other nut job who thinks he can scare us into voting for one side or the other… Said to say that kinda stuff works now and then, as it did in Germany a few decades back… Personally I still agree with Bill from the movie Stripes. America is a nation built on the backs of people kicked out and fleeing their old country. We’re mutts. But that is what makes this country great. We were the underdogs who were the rejects from everywhere else, and now we’re running the show.
There are several comments on this site that state peoples’ ardent views on diversity, change, and what is and is not American. I’ll tell you what is American. I am a Southern Jew who married the daughter of a retired Baptist minister. I have two sisters, one married a Muslim, the other a Catholic, and they are both expecting in July. We’re scattered from Carolina, to Texas, to Arizona. We’ve got Irish, English, Polish, Russian, German, Indian, South African, French, Spanish and Cherokee in our blood. We are Republicans and Democrats, and not afraid to listen to and/or vote across the isle. We are as American as it gets. God bless American and the mutts that defend it.
WOW this site reall is to Pro Republican. Everyone Saying how evil the Clintons are and that W the retard from Texas is doing a good job. First to address the issue people were complaining about during tax season for the clintons Surprising ly it has been the opposite for me When Bill was in Office I always got a return Bush Steps in and OMG I have been paying ever since, And for those who don’t believe the war in Iraq is about Oil then look at what it has costed you to put gas in your car, It was not even a year ago that everyone was worried that gas was going to cost 3 dollars a gallon for gas. Hello its three dollars now and its winter. Does anyone rember what gas was during the clinton years. It was around a dollar a gallon. I will admit that bill made his mistakes what president or person for that matter hasn’t, But I’m tired of republican warmongers who spend My money on things in countries I could give a tas butt about. We need to go back to the way our foreignpolicy was prior to WWII, let other countries do waht they want so long as it does not affect me. so much as shoot spit wad n our direction though and well ouve been warned.
