George H.W. Bush Says He Did Not Agree to Diplomatic Mission With Bill Clinton

Border

Nope, wouldn’t be prudent.

Former President George H.W. Bush is taking issue with statements made by Bill Clinton Monday that the duo would embark on a mission of diplomacy around the world if his wife is elected president.

Clinton reportedly made the statements in South Carolina, saying he and Bush would spread the message that “America is open for business and cooperation again,” implying that the former president would need to swoop in to repair diplomatic damage wrought by his son.

But George H.W. Bush’s Chief of Staff Jean Becker released a statement Tuesday saying he and Clinton have made no such plans - even though the two have grown close through charity work since their 1992 presidential election match up.

“Former President Bush wholeheartedly supports the president of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an ‘around -the-world mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of home for freedom and democracy,” Becker said. “President Bush is excited about several of the excellent Republican candidates running for President, and looks forward to supporting their candidacy once the Republican nominee is determined.”

Clinton’s comments were just his latest candid assessment of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

In an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS Friday, Clinton played down expectations for his wife’s performance in the Iowa caucuses, saying it is a “miracle” she even has a chance in that state.

He also criticized rival Barack Obama as being too inexperienced to run for president and said voters would be taking a risk with him in the White House.

i’ll tell you what… Go out…join the armed forces, survive basic (I recommend the Army, You would never be able to become a Marine) survive a background check, and get a TS clearance. Then you might be able to speak intellegently on these subjects, though i doubt you could speak intelligently about anything. At least then you would have facts and not ramblings you watch on CNN. Until then i think you should probably shut your mouth, since Billy boy knew about the terror threats LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG before President Goerge W. Buch even began his campaign, let alone took office; And just be glad that people like me are FIGHTING SWEATING BLEEDING AND KILLING so people like you can ignorantly verbally bash your government.

In the news this week China is still spying on the USA. If my memory serves me correctly, I understood that Hillary and Bill Clinton are receiving tens of millions of dollars annually from their “friends in China” as “consultants” for the Chinese. (I believe its approximately $20,000,000 or better).

Given the aid and comfort the Clintons provided for the Chinese in the 1990s, doesn’t the above “consulting” contract sound like a signifigant influence buying scheme (?) for Hillary?

LOL. Gotta love people who believe in concepts like “the Osama, Obama crowd.” You want a good conspiracy theory try one with evidence, precedent, motive, opportunity and most of the world believing it at least to be possible if not likely:

George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and the Project for a New American Century crowd caused 9/11 to happen either by deliberate negligence or conspiracy. Their astonishing lies regarding Iraq and their willingness to believe and repeat total nonsense on other matters of grave public interest (like climate change) make it impossible for anyone to argue that they are good high integrity people making honest errors. Look how they got power: They rigged the election in 2000 with control of the Florida cabinet and undue Supreme Court influence. In 2004 Republicans working with or for Diebold said they would “deliver” Ohio. And they did but not by getting honest votes. Everyone else on Earth is well aware of who Bush and Cheney are. And Karl Rove. Look into where the Bush family got its money - final payoff from the top dead Nazi in Argentina in 1951. Anyone who thinks they’re friends of Israel is very confused. Quite the contrary, they’ll risk armageddon in the Mideast because they DON’T care about any of the people there. To make money for their friends in the South they let New Orleans flood and rot, too. It isn’t surprising that George H. W. Bush is afraid of doing anything that might look conciliatory and help actually elect a real President - someone with the guts to investigate what he was doing during Bay of Pigs and JFK’s last days and Iran-Contra and so on. Remember how he said Jeb was going to run for office, even after Jeb himself said NO? What is he hiding? What was William Casey going to investigate before he was suddenly fired and G. H. W. Bush put in his place as head of the CIA? What were the names of the ships landing in the Bay of Pigs.

Rulers like Bush, Cheney, Bush do not get benefit of the doubt or presumption of innocence, they have to demonstrate it was not to their advantage to have those attacks or events occur. Given their well-planned exploitation of the 9/11 events, which according to General Wesley Clark included fleshed-out plans to invade several countries including Iraq and Iran, it would be foolish to imagine that the PNAC, which composed much of Bush’s core cabinet, had no hand whatsoever in making those events occur. If nothing else they ignored various reports of people learning to fly planes into buildings. Then later lied that they’d never heard those, when they were all over the national and global news in the summer of 2001. You know they listen to every phone call, read every email, at the NSA? How could they miss all the signs?

It’s hardly a unique situation, rigging an attack on your own country or refusing to do anything to stop it, to build political support or keep a secret. History records that Hitler burned the Reichstag and that Churchill knew about Coventry in advance. It’s also widely debated whether Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor in advance. If you tried to tell people in Germany, Britain or America these things at the time, they’d deny it based on nothing but fear. Likewise people today deny Bush and Cheney’s involvement in 9/11 based on nothing but fear. This fear will evaporate in February 2009 with the new President even if it’s a Republican. Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are terrified of McCain, hate him, because he’s more likely than any Democrat to lift the lid on the cesspool of Republican horrors 1980-2008.

For these reasons, many people fear Bush and Cheney will stage another event and find excuses to cancel the election in 2008. That’s not likely to succeed. There are lots of people now in the armed forces and police forces who share the opinion that they and their ilk are traitors.

Just like Boris Yeltsin, leaders of the resistance against any such coup can count on officers in the armed and police forces standing up for democracy and truth, including with their weapons.

A warning in advance to Republicans who support Bush: Stand down. Your time is over and so is your empire. There will be no “New American Century”.

Cute how waterboarding is declared legal against Al Qaida but not against traitors in the US. If it works, don’t you think it ought to be used on Rumsfeld? Cheney? Bush himself? Liars all. You can’t trust what anyone says under torture, but especially not when your life’s a lie.

So, you sure you want to play the conspiracy theory game, Republicans? Really really sure?

the Obama, Osama crowd

P.S. Didn’t even have to bother mentioning Bush and bin Laden family ties - but you know about that too didn’t you? And that the bin Ladens in the US were the only people allowed out the week no other planes flew. Recommended viewing: Fahrenheit 911, Martial Law and Rise of the Police State. Yes the UTU endorsed Hillary, but looking back to the past record of “I don’t recall,” it was not hard for me to not vote for her. I don’t want another HillBilly in office either. I do support Senator McCain because he is the only one I have seen stand by his word; even when drawn on the carpet about it. As a military member since 1988, and the son of a career military member, I find it hard to support Senator Obama as a Commander in Chief. This lack of support is not based on religion, but on experiece. As a fire chief and paramedic I want someone who will help support public safety and help provide the funding and resources needed to keep free Americans safe of today’s threat…terrorism, both homeland and abroad. As a railroader I want someone who will stand up for the working class people that make this Country operate and not give into the big corporations like Norfolk Southern, CSXT, BNSF and UP who have all made tremendous profits while I work two to three jobs just to try to stay ahead. Vote for the “best” person whom you choose, but look at the whole picture America…Military Experience (Commander in Chief), Homeland Security, Support for the Working Class People. Race, age and gender have no factor in my book as we should all be diversified. God Bless America and thank a Marine, Soilder or Airman for giving you the freedom to choose!

To Steve & all you other uninformed people: the President’s budget is the budget that is usually passed each
year minus revisions that Congress makes to it. That is why Bill Clinton’s financial record was so good be-
cause his budgets were fiscally frugal (around 1.6 trillion at the most). And George W. Bush’s financial record
was so poor and an absolute abomination because George W.’s current budget is $3.1 trillion - almost twice
that of Bill Clinton’s budgets. Does anybody now not understand why George W. has bankrupted this country?
I speak from experience. I spent 6 years in Washington, D.C. specificially working on the budget issues behind
the scene while Bill Clinton was in office. Many of us lobbied Congress & Clinton to get the budget under con-
trol and in balance and start paying down on the huge national debt. Bill Clinton had the national budget com-pletely balanced by 1996 and ran a fiscal surplus during his last 2 years in office, which paid off about a half
trillion dollars of the huge national debt that Ronald Reagan and George Hubert Walker Bush had accumulated.
Now then along comes Boy George and what a nightmare!! By the time George W. gets out of office, our national debt will be about $10 trillion. We are now sitting on the verge of a complete national financial collapse with both this $10 trillion national debt & $850 billion a year trade deficit. In 1996, the trade
deficit was only $400 billion a year. Now it is more than twice that amount. Everybody hang on and put your
seat belts on because we are headed for a complete financial collapse of the American dollar due to the irre-
sponsibility of the so-called Republicans’ fiscal policies that have been absolutely disastrous and they are
definitely not fiscal conservatives in any sense of the word!! Right now, people may think we are in a recession or economic slowdown as the news keeps saying. But by about 2010, Americans are going to know
that we WILL BE in a depression similar to or worse than the Great Depression of 1929. Don’t say you haven’t
been fairly warned! Better start paying off all your credit cards while you can. Things are going to get pretty
rough down the road and we need someone in the White House who KNOWS how to deal with fiscal issues. With
Bill Clinton, we had absolute proof of that and with Hillary Clinton as President, I’m sure Bill will be giving her
advice to weather the stormy financial seas that lie ahead for America!!

How can we have a criminal, who lied under oath to all of America, live in the White House? Worse, his acomplice, the wife, who told all of America how proud she was of him, acting as if nothing was wrong, run this country. Doesn’t the government do background checks before they let people live in the white house and represent us? All the Clinton duo is experienced at is being frauds and getting away with it. The audacity of the Clintons. All we have is hope that it won’t be.

Obama to inexperienced to “run” for president…or “be” president? Oh, that’s right Bill, I forgot… Hilary is perfectly qualified because she too slept in the White House.

I’m just a nobody and a working class person and I concider myself a Republican, but I have voted as I see fit in the past. If McClain is the only choice to vote for in that ticket, I will have to vote for Obama. To begin with, I’ve always thought that McCain was a Democrat! McCain and Clinton (No, I won’t vote for her just because I’m a woman!) are both part of the problem. They both have been in Washington for much to long to have a new perspective. Huckabee is a good canadate and I believe will make some good choices if elected President, but the media has already seen fit to vote him out. The truth is that the media plays a big part in what is shown on TV, read in the newspapers and heard on the radio. It’s also sad to have a candidate to be put down, because of his beliefs and religious background as the media has done.
In years past, people that have come from all parts of the world to be proud to call America their home. It matters not how long we’ve called America home, we should all be able to be proud of America. Black - White - whatever color of skin or what ever heritage we are all the same inside!

I do not believe America should focus on experience in the White House , simply because we have been mislead in the past by those who are experienced in the white house.

I think it is time for a change from the prideful and overly controling people who have been running the White House this far.

It’s time we let some one who represents change and can bring people of differences together for the better of this country and our children’s future.

And I believe that person is Barak Obama.
