South Carolina’s “First in the South” GOP primary will be held Jan. 19.

Here are some war questions for the candidates tonight…
1. Did you support President Bush’s decision at the time to initiate military action in Afghanistan and Iraq?
2. What is your understanding of what the President used as the justification for starting military action in Afghanistan and Iraq?
3. What were the main objectives that the President wanted to accomplish with the military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq?
4. What was the President’s expected timetable for these objectives to be accomplished?
5. How would you assess the success of the military action thus far in achieving the objectives?
6. Has your support for, or opposition to, the military action in Iraq and Afghanistan changed at any time since it began? If so, why and when?
7. Do you believe that the lack of any additional terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11 is at least partially attributable to the military action being taken in Afghanistan and Iraq?
8. Are the United States and its citizens safer since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan?
9. If the fledging democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan can eventually sustain themselves without direct military support from the United States, would that be considered a victory for our country and a major foreign policy success for President Bush?
10. Would you support withdrawing all of our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan immediately, even if it was likely that those existing governments would be toppled by terrorist organizations?
11. What would be the impacts to the United States and the countries in the Middle East if we withdrew our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan tomorrow?
12. As President, would you initiate policies to proactively seek out and eliminate terrorist threats or just wait for, and respond to, any future terrorist attacks?
13. Do you believe that the President should be able to order covert actions, under public secrecy and without a Congressional vote, to prevent future terrorist attacks, assuming these actions don’t break any existing laws?
14. Do you believe that negotiations, diplomacy or a military pull-out policy in the Middle East can prevent, or significantly minimize future terrorist attacks from Islamo-fascists?
15. As President, would you support the use of surveillance and data mining techniques to analyze phone calls, emails and financial transactions of potential terrorists to prevent future attacks?
16. Do you believe that a border fence is a good defense against terrorists trying to enter the United States illegally?
17. Do you believe that the United States should institute a draft or continue with an all-volunteer military?
18. If you are 99% confident that a captured terrorist has information of an imminent attack on U.S. citizens and this information would enable the attack to be prevented, would you, as President, support the use of torture, if all other options had been exhausted?
19. If you were President and were notified that a hijacked plane with U.S. citizens aboard was heading on a collision course with a major skyscraper and all negotiation attempts had failed, would you be able to give the order to have the plane shot down before it hits the building?
20. If U.N. resolutions, diplomacy and sanctions had all failed and, as President, you had solid evidence that Iran was on the verge of having a functioning nuclear weapon, would you be prepared to give an order for military action to take out the nuclear facilities?
21. How will you enlist the American people in fully supporting your efforts to deal with Islamo-fascist terror?
I hope Fox DOES push Mitt Romney; they’d be the only ones in a vast sea of liberal media that do, and he’s hands-down the most intelligent and capable of any of the candidates. The contrast is absolutely striking. Most of these guys are in this race for themselves, not the country. Mitt doesn’t need the money, and he’s already said he’ll give his salary to charity.
Fox has shown itself for what it truly is………… unfair and very biased by their owner!
Go to ……………………………………….Iraq!
Come on GOP, please come up with a suitable candidate so if Hillary gets the nomination I can vote for a republican. So far the only one that I could cross over and vote for is Huckabee. The rest of them seem to be war-mongers!
Pete Says:
Why all the people upset about Ronnie Paul being excluded? Why in the world would Fox invite a monkey to the debate?
Why were you not at this debate? You obviously like welfare and socialism and would fit right in.
goooooo huckabee, paul go over and join Clintin, we need mike in.
You are doing your viewers and America a great injustice by deciding who you feel should be in the debates. Choosing our next President is the right of all and you are doing nothing to see that the best candidate wins.
Illegal immigrants will thrive on Huckabee’s Fair Tax Plan as they will create a black market that is based on non-taxed goods. The black market thereby created will also keep the illegal immigrants employed. With no Federal Income tax, employers will find labor easier than they ever have before! The size of government necessary to enforce business to pay the sales tax will equal the size of the current IRS. There’s no value in that. I think Thompson was right in the last debate when he said that there will most likely continue to be an IRS income tax and essentially we’ll all be taxed twice. I’d like someone to address Huckabee on this issue tonight.
I too am hoping that tonight ALL the republican candidates will be invited to participate- including Duncan Hunter, who was left out in the New Hampshire debate. What’s the point of a debate if some voices are selectively left out? Please include them all! Hunter is the only true Reagan conservative. Look at the Hunter’s endorsements; that will tell you about his character. Enven ACLU scored him low which indicates very conservative.
Let me start by saying that I USED to love Fox News. My family and I took time out of our night to watch at least Bill and Shawn and we were stuck to the screen. That was about 5 years ago…now i see them as the Right’s propaganda machine. I hate that because i used to love you guys, I took every word you said to heart and was proud to be a viewer. Free speech is no longer encouraged on certain shows because views are different, and now they are using their position to censor Republicans they do not agree with in there debates!!! I love this country and just want some hope for our future thank you fox for once again making me feel hopeless.
