Nevada Spanish-Language Ad Irks Clinton Campaign

Border

A union supporting Barack Obama is running a Spanish-language radio ad that slams Hillary Clinton over the Nevada lawsuit to bar the so-called “casino caucuses.”

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the at-large caucuses to be held in nine hotels along the Las Vegas strip is permissible since internal party decisions are not under the court’s jurisdiction. Both the Nevada Democratic Party and Democratic National Committee last year signed off on the plan to give hotel employees the opportunity to go vote Saturday while they are at work.

A translation of the negative ad by labor group Unite Here says:

“Hillary Clinton does not respect our people. Hillary Clinton supporters went to court to prevent working people to vote this Saturday — that is an embarrassment.

“Hillary Clinton supporters want to prevent people from voting in their workplace on Saturday. This is unforgivable. Hillary Clinton is shameless. Hillary Clinton should not allow her friends to attack our people’s right to vote this Saturday. This is unforgivable; there’s no respect

“Sen. Obama is defending our right to vote. Sen. Obama wants our votes. He respects our votes, our community, and our people.”

The Clinton campaign is none too happy about the ad, particularly as the Clintons have repeatedly stated they had nothing to do with the lawsuit filed by the Nevada teachers union, whose leadership is tied to the Clinton camp.

Clinton campaign spokesman Phil Singer accused the Obama campaign of hypocrisy for attacking labor-backed ads in Iowa “but in Nevada, he’s looking the other way as they falsely attack his opponents.”

“Senator Obama apparently has no problem with groups running ads as long as they attack others. While that’s audacious, its certainly not hopeful,” Singer said.

On a conference call with reporters Wednesday, Hispanic labor leader and Clinton supporter Dolores Huerta called the ad “pathetic, and it’s sad and unfortunate that they have to stoop so low.”

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton responded that it’s not the campaign’s ad, and “if the Clinton campaign has questions, they should contact the union that sponsored the ad.”

He goes on to say that “it takes some chutzpah” for the Clinton campaign to complain since it has been “repeatedly launching absolutely false attacks against Senator Obama. … The fact is their camp clearly would like to have workers’ voices silenced and they need to live with that unfortunate position.”

I love it!! It has always been said that Dems form their firing squads in a circle. It is also true that in Dem elections, no single Dem is enough of a slobbering Red Socialist to suit any other Dem. Hopefully they will carry on this way right thru their convention.

The Clinton’s have a problem when their own tactics are used against them. They live in a world of hypocrisy!

Good for the Union. Hillary’s history shows she is evasive, and underhanded.

she cozies up to her husband only for political show. That tear act was the sneaky actress in her. It is good that a lot of people are not suckered in by her. Legal voters should rights
must not be supressed. It is ratkher obvious that some treachery is underfoot by the Clintons.

This is nothing unusual but I happen to support anything that does allow undocumented workers to vote on anything. Who said this union was undocumented? All it takes is a trip to Las Vegas and try to find an English speaking hotel worker that does not run at the first sight of a policeman. The fact that Obama is turning a deaf ear….well…politics as usual.

The Clintons are really something else. How can they deny that they had nothing to do with the lawsuit. Everyone knows better. They think they are so clever and they are really so transparent that it is pathetic. I hope Barack wins in Nevada and every other state. How does anyone support them?

We should know the Clintons by now. If the Union supported Hillary, the casino caucuses would be OK.

Consider what America got with the first Clinton co-Presidency:

• Abuse of the powers of the office of the President
• Granting Presidential pardons to buy Hillary’s election to the Senate. As a woman who made it on my own, Hillary’s need to ride Bill’s coattails and her sense of entitlement (as in “it’s my turn and Obama should wait his turn”) makes me doubt her capabilities.
• Hillary’s long-suffering marriage to Bill, enabling a lifetime of sexual trysts and trying to contain the Bimbo eruptions, gives me a President without the backbone to stand up to a man. Hillary claims to be tough enough to play with the boys when, in fact, she is unable to leave a cheating husband. How will she stand up to other male leaders who see this in “Mrs.” Clinton and walk all over her?
• Being married to a former President does not make one qualified to be President.
Hillary has less experience in elected office than Barack. She’s held elected office for one Senate term plus one year and has introduced no major legislation during that time. She showed us in the interview about Pakistani elections the extent of her foreign policy experience–she did not know what office the election was for or who was on the ballot! Is this the kind of experience we want in the Oval Office?

I am not a “Hillary hater;” I am an America lover. Please consider very carefully which candidate the Democratic Party puts on the ballot. The future of this country absolutely depends on it.

I’m getting a little sick of Obama letting others do his dirty work and then saying “talk to the union” or “my supporters without my knowledge.” He should quit his whining and either affirm or disavow statements made by those who support him. By the way, I hate Hillary and am voting for Edwards.
