Rambo v. Walker, Texas Ranger: Stallone Backs McCain Against Norris’ Huckabee

Talk about tough opponents.

After Mike Huckabee enlisted action star Chuck Norris to watch his back on the rough-and-tumble campaign trail, John McCain is tag-teaming with Rocky himself.

Sylvester Stallone told FOX News that he’s supporting the Arizona senator for the 2008 presidential nomination — McCain, a former Vietnam POW, is the real Rambo, Stallone seemed to reason.

“I like McCain a lot,” Stallone said in an interview that aired Thursday. “Things may change along the way, but there’s something about matching the character with the script, and right now the script is being written and reality is pretty brutal and hard edge and like a rough action film, you need somebody who’s been in that to deal with it.”

So who’s badder?

Though both tough-guy surrogates may be better suited for a cage match than a press gaggle, Norris has blended into civilian society, standing tall with Huckabee at rallies and accompanying him in post-debate “spin rooms” to set the media straight about what they just saw.

Stallone apparently has not been recruited for any campaign appearances … yet.

The Texas Ranger’s campaign ad with Huckabee late last year did wonders for the former Arkansas governor’s Web site traffic, with lines like “My plan to secure the border … Chuck Norris” and “There’s no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard. Only another fist.”

Stallone/McCain versus Norris/Huckabee could the ultimate ultimate fighting contest of this election year. McCain, alerted to the surprise Stallone endorsement, said as a result, he’s prepared for the next brutal round on the campaign trail.

“I’m going to Philadelphia and run up the steps … I’m ready,” he told FOX News.

Campaigning later in West Palm Beach, McCain told reporters, jokingly: “Look out Chuck Norris, Sylvester’s comin’ after you. He’s comin’ after you and he’s going to get you. You better run! Chuck, you can run but you can’t hide!”

To me a Holleywood action figure would not nor could not influence me to vote for a particular canidate especially MCcain. He is a war hero which is to be highly commended but his policies match to close to the Democracts!
He tried to push the amnesty bill with his buddy Ted Kennedy. He fought against Bush’s tax cuts just to name a few. Do not get me wrong. A showdown between Hillairy and Mccain would make me vote for Mccain. I would never ever vote for hillairy. Hillary is a SOCAILIST! she or OBama need to lose big time and I believe they will against Mitt Romney. I was a strong supporter of FRED THOMPSON but since he hae dropped out MITT makes the most sense! Mitt know how to run a business as well as a government and would supply the best leadership of all the canidates. also he has the financial resourses to pull through to the convention.

Sounds like two kids in a bad arguement and both of them scared.

who really cares what an actor thinks politically. It’s who do you think, thinks the way you do.

Forget these two. The real factor here is the Ric Flair factor. The 16 time Heavyweight Champion of the World. The Nature Boy himself is backing Huckabee. You have to vote for Huckabee if the “Kiss stealin, wheelin-deelin, lemosine ridin, jet flyin, son of a gun is backing him. Wether you like it or not you better learn to love it cause he’s the best thing going today. Whoooooo!

How is this any different than one of the George Clooney, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, ect. crowd endorsing a candidate? These celebrities exist for our amusement and not much else. Anyone taking political advisement, from either end of the spectrum, from this bunch should really attempt to get a life.

Jason we are NOT going to elect that flipper to the highest office of the USA. NO Rommney not Huckabee No Ron Paul, I would just as soon vote for Hlllary as to vote for Huckabee or Romney

Romney? He governed as a liberal. He has flip-flopped more than Kerry. The man is untrustworthy, and is faking being a conservative even more than George W did. I am a Christian conservative and a Navy veteran. Romney’s Momron religion is not the issue for me or for any other Christians I know. It is his innate liberalism, and that he will absolutely govern as a liberal if elected President. Romney supporters pull out the religion card like Jesse jackson pulls out the race card. It’s all a smoke screen.

As for Romney’s supposed business success - he was a venture capitalist - not a real businessman. I wonder how many people lost jobs from the corporate buyouts Romney’s venture capital caused. Now Huckabee, he had to run church business as an organization that depend on volunteers, hiring staff and meeting payrolls for people he had to see everyday. He was also able to run a state government with a Democrat state legislature without going as liberal as Romney did, and he governed as a Governor, not a pastor.

As for Ron Paul, if you’ve ever read his stuff, you know he does a good job of acting during the debates, but he is about one black helicopter short of the mother ship.

Romney is plastic, McCain is wrong on all but one issue (in addition ot his arrogance and temper) - sounds like Norris made the right choice, and Stallone is just looking for publicity for his new movie.

Does anyone REALLY care who Chuck or Sly endorse? I would not walk across the street to see either one, nor would I vote because they asked me to do so.
