Huckabee Rejects Texas Governor’s Request to Drop Out of Race
Texas Gov. Rick Perry has asked Mike Huckabee to drop out of the GOP presidential race, but Huckabee — who says he’s banking on “miracles” in his long-shot bid against John McCain — declined.
Perry, a McCain supporter, called Huckabee Friday asking him to pull out for the good of the party, according to a senior Huckabee campaign aide.
Huckabee confirmed he received the call, and said he didn’t take it seriously.
“I told that him while I appreciated it, with all due respect, since he was already on someone else’s team that I had to discount his advice since he had a vested interest in my not winning and McCain winning,” he said. “Since he was endorsing my opponent, therecommendation rang a little hollow to me. Again it was a cordial conversation but not one that I would take seriously.”
Huckabee won the Kansas GOP caucuses Saturday, after telling the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., that morning, “I didn’t major in math …. I majored in miracles, and I still believe in them.”
The former Arkansas governor and Southern Baptist pastor told the audience he would not be quitting.
But he still trails McCain by a wide margin in the delegate count.
Perry placed the call to Huckabee after Mitt Romney pulled out of the race earlier in the week, leaving McCain the presumptive nominee.
FOX News’ Serafin Gomez contributed to this report.
congrats to Mike Huckabee - don’t quit, don’t ever quit - until the race is won!
I don’t know who Gov. Perry thinks he is. What would he think if someone came out and asked him to step down from his seat as Gov.
Hey Guys,
Gov. Rick Perry of Texas has said that he wants Gov. Mike Huckabee to leave the race. I e-mailed him and told him we don’t appreciate him picking our nominee.
We want a choice, not a coronation.
Let him know what you think. http://www2.governor.state.tx.us/contact/

Go Mike!! Sounds like some folks are sweating
You have my support Huck!
Is this governor afraid of Mike Huckabee, it looks like he is running scared, I cannot understand what he means by the good of the party, I believe that Mike Huckabee is more of the conservative than McCain, Governor Perry aught to know that next time he wants to run for something he will not have the backing of the party.
Thanks to Huckabee for staying the course.~~~~
This shows signs of Presidential leadership qualities.
Gov. Perry just let the primaries run their course. Huckabee has a American right to run in this race and I personally am glad he is standing for the principles that he is.
I am a Republican and will support the nominee but still believe it is not prudent for Gov. Perry to ask that Huckabee drop out. Let the people speak.
Huckabee should have left long ago. His longo should be taken back to ARK.
People are using him and making a fool of him and he is not smart enough to get it. But lets give him this much. He has managed to get more monies in that pocket, which he is hoping to take home. That is a real loyal and good candiate.
He does not talk about the real issues and he has no clue about the world, could you even imagine him attempting ? Big business for him is Walmart, something many areas want nothing to do with, and want this out. He drives low income.
CPac took a vote and he was bottomed out with Paul. Romney was the winner, as of we did not know this.
You guys just don’t get it. DO IT FOR THE GOOD OF THE PARTY!
AT least MITT understands that. HUCK IS DONE AND DONE FOR GOOD FOR BEING THIS STUPID.
I will NEVER EVER VOTE FOR HIM.
GO MITT 2012!
Still Standing…Go Mike!…
We still have a Vote and a Choice!
That is sooo funny!!! He IS scared because the last poll I saw for Texas (a winner take all state) Huck was up big over McCain… in fact Mc was in 3rd behind Mittens… Go Huck!!! My time and money will continue to flow
Part of the problem is that trust evangelical leaders lke James Dobson have joined the crowd dividing the church around a political candidate. He starte that. Now, manu other Republicans will do the same in the name of the gospe, but favoring McCain.
Gov. Perry just gave Huckabee a boost… At least two votes I know of…
Haven’t seen any of my comments lately!
Romney should give his delegates to Huckabee and then between the two of them, they can win over McCain and at last we would have 2 conservatives helping each other and us!
Conservatives are the heart of the GOP and that heart pulses for Mitt Romney!
Even with him out of the official race, the majority of conservatives at CPAC voted for him in the straw poll.
Huckabee and Ron Paul tied, way below McCain. Neither of them has the support of the majority of conservatives. Huckabee’s success in Kansas and possibly in other states to come is most likely because of votes against McCain.
I still think the solution to unite the party if there’s no way for Romney to be nominated is for McCain to ask Romney to be his running mate.
McCain/Romney could be a winning ticket for November.
Otherwise, conservatives and Huckabee supporters could very well see everything lost when John McCain who got to a position of prominence only because the conservative vote was spit, fails to unite the party and deliver the presidency.

IS THE GOV. PERRY FORREAL. WHY SHOULD HE. I THINK HE IS SCARED GOOD OLD HUCK HAS A CHANCE. AND ONE MORE THING, WHY DO SO MENY PEOPLE THINK REAL CHRISTIANS SHOULD PUT THIER FAITH DOWN GO IN AND VOTE FOR MCCAIN, JUST TO PICK IT BACK UP AFTER THEY CAST THIER VOTE. TO ME IF YOU ARE DOING THIS AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A PART OF THE BODY OF CHRIST. CHECK THE WORD OF GOD AGAIN. THE EVANGELICALS NEED TO STEP UP, AND BACK HUCKABEE NO MATTER THE COST. AND IF THAT MEANS YOU DON’T VOTE IF YOU CAN’T VOTE FOR HIM THEN STAY AT HOME. HOW MUCH OF YOUR FAITH WILL YOU SET ASIDE JUST TO VOTE.
Bill– go to explorehuckabee.com you will see how ridiculous you sound once you have explored huckabee. He has more leadership experience than anyone that is or was in the race and managed to turn a blue state into a red state. He won his homestate by a better margin than either Mc or Mittens did during the primaries. As for money raised… he is just getting enough to stay competitive… most of his support comes in the form of volunteers calls, grass roots meet up groups, etc. That is how Kansas was won… don’t let McCain fool you he did expect to win Kansas.
Mike Huckabee is thinking of no one other than himself. He will never be president. The only thing that he will accomplish is to seriously hamper the Republicans’ chance to win the election.
How can anyone vote for a man who says, “I didn’t major in math.” ???
Is this the type of person we want leading the free world? Someone who can’t count?!
We’ve had 8 years of that already. Huckabee is GWBush all over again.
In response to Rick Perry’s call for Mike Huckabee to withdraw - Seems Perry’s desires
are to keep the old establishment Republicans in office.
Crystal —
“THE EVANGELICALS NEED TO STEP UP, AND BACK HUCKABEE NO MATTER THE COST.”
Oh my, that is frightening.
Clint H that is ridiculous… how about doing something for America!!! There isn’t anything more American than a choice and without options we have no choices. I am not concerned about a party… I care about a country… people like you do not understand what our country is about and are contributing to its demise.
People, Get serious here Mr. Huckabee has NO shot at wininng enough delegates. And that is ALL that matters right now. The bigger issue is defeating the socialists on the other side.
I assume that is what the Gov. of Texas was referring to.
he should drop out just google talking to americans/rick mercer canadian tv show
I emailed Gov. Perry also telling him that I don’t appreciate him trying to decide the outcome for me. I plan to vote on March 4th for Mike Huckabee. Perry needs to be deluged with emails and calls from Texas. Who does he think he is to try to decide for us?!
Stranger things have happened. If McCain, Obama and Billary are all we have to chose from, there’s no wonder Huckabee still has support. Some may call it a miracle if Huckabee receives the nomination… I might call it a country that has come to their senses.
Rick Perry Needs to ask the RINO<<<Republican in name(McNutCain) Only to bow out, we want a real Republican to go to the white house, not some wanna be democrat like McCain.
Ole Slick Rick is a Lib Republican just like McCain. From the Trans Texas Corridor (Which includes private Toll Roads and Immanent Domain) to forcing school girls to get a controversial vaccine that he owns stock in, I wouldn’t trust that jerk as far as I can throw him. I miss Bush as Governor.
Kick em in the knee Huckabee.
Bryan from N Texas
James Id be for someone asking Rick to step down
Perry thinks that if McCain wins he’ll get to be VP. With Huckabee’s popularity, he may be the VP candidate if McCain wins the nomination. That leaves poor old Perry out in the cold.
It’s a shameful day to be Texan with such a governor making such a oxymoronic comment… !!! A paper bag over my face… )
I think Rick Perry should just shut up. R. Perry want to be the VP, this country will become worst than it is now. R. Perry is mad man with power. GOOOOOOOOO Huck.
Sounds like Gov. Perry is looking for a position in a “fictional” McCain White House.
Do us all a favor and stay in TX. Anyone can see this was a “good ole’ boy” political move on behalf of McCain in a major state yet to have their chance to vote. Sounds like he’s pulling another “terminator” tactic like in California. Texas needs to vote for Huck! Texas is as sick as illegal immigaration as anybody. They know McCain is not the answer. He would just open the door wider. Huckabee has aroused the Conservative base. We know who the real conservative is. Wait till Ohio! Miracles still happen!
Governor Perry - I am planning to vote in the TEXAS primary and my vote will go to Huckabee!
Your attempt to get Huckabee out of this race is despicable. The idea that you know better than the voters is overthe top.
We have PLENTY of time before the convention and the demoicrats are noit even close to a decision.
It is better to be right, than to be quick in our nominee.
Do you expect me to vote for you again???
Huckabee is the best and most authentic, good natured American among the candidates.
If the public is not swayed by the media and the like of Perry they will find in Huckabee the most hoest , intelligent , fun and serious candidate with the highest morals .
He is the best for America, and the best of America to show the world.
I join him in a prayer for a winning miracle for the sake of America’s future.
Hucks on CNN breaking news!!!
Come on you guys. There is no chance he will win and it is time to concede that fact. Although a Godly man, he has been outmatched since day one. His tireless use of one liners has grown old. He lacks experience on foreign policy, the economy and his view on the war is without a doubt very weak. I respect your opinions as fellow “foxheads” but it is time to embrace the obvious.
Huckabee is just a spoiler , he is doing exactly what the dems want, creating rifts amongst the republicans. He knows very well he does not stand a chance of winning the nomination. He is only looking up for his wishes and his ambition, never mind if the republicans loose the national election. Maybe he is trying to get the VP spot, but with his tactics , maybe what he and the conservatives will get are four “wonderful” years of Hillary or what could be a lot worse, Obama. SO HUCKABEE , do as Romney did, QUIT ALREADY,
Just a comment from a Native Texan…………..
…….the majority of Texans are not that pleased with the performance of the guy currently in the Governor’s Mansion!!!
I actually think that Huckabee has the best chance of winning the presidency of any of the Republican candidates. You have to run strong in the South, especially against Obama. Huck has a history of converting democrats into voting Republican. McCain will never carry the southern states, without them he can’t get the presidency.
I’m a Texan and a Republican and I am very disappointed in my governor. I want voters to express themselves and choose the candidate they want. The results will be interesting and the party can learn something.
Governor Perry is clearly having trouble picking a winner. First, he endorsed Rudy Guiliani because he thought Rudy would win. Now, he’s throwing support behind McCain, obviously trying to hop on the bandwagon for his own self-serving purposes.
Again, I think much less of him than I used to.
CNN reports “major embarrassment” and he got “walloped” in regards to McCains loss in Kansas. He will rty to spin it as expected but don’t believe it… he was in Wichita yesterday campaining
Perry’s comment about what is “good for the party” is advice he should take himself. I have voted Republican for years and feel about Perry about the same as I do about Hillary. It doesn’t who runs against him, I am voting for the other one — which means I’ll vote for a Democrat Texas governor for the 1st time ever. He is a good aristocrat but a poor governor.
Thanks Regina for the link to the TX GOV.
SCARY! Have you listened to the debates? To say that Huckabee is like G.W. Bush…you are sadly mistaken. If anyone is like Bush it is definitely McCain.
Why is allowing 2 people to run against each other in the primaries to be construed as “splitting the party”? Every time I’ve voted in a primary election their have been multiple candidates. I voted for Alan Keyes eight years ago, but it didn’t devastate the Republican party; I’m sure allowing Huckabee to continue is what the primaries are all about. If there is no choice at all, why bother to go to the polls from now on? Shall we really allow the states that voted on or prior to Super Tuesday to decide the candidate with no other input?
Felix, Clint and bill (sic)–
You guys are obviously intellectual giants, as evidenced by your command of third-grade English. You are just the folks to whom I would turn for advice on how to chart the course of our country.
Still standing–Go Huck !!
The party will unite after the convention.
Now is the time for Republicans to vote for the candidates of their choice in order to have their opinions and views acknowledged. That’s what I like about Huckabee staying in the race.
Bear in mind that Governor Perry desperately wants to be on the Republican ticket.
His request to Huckabee is greedy and self-serving.
By Huckabee staying in the race, this actually helps the GOP. Right now the Dems are getting a lot of the media. Huck keeps the media also on the GOP and gives McCain air time. In addition, it helps pivot more support for conservative causes hopefully influencing McCain and other RNC leadership. While Mike Huckabee doesn’t really have a chance … staying in continues to build conservative influence and keeps the GOP in front of the media.
I’m a strong fiscal and social conservative. McCain was probably one of my last choices, but I will not only vote for him … I will fight for him. (I fully disagree with James Dobson on this). The alternative is too devastating for the military, average families, and unborn children.
I’m hoping for a McCain / Huckabee ticket!
Gov. Perry;
With all due respect, I am appalled at your suggesting Gov, Huckabee drop out of the presidential race. I am voting and supporting Huckabee and will now double my efforts to make certain people are informed of the true concsrvative choice - Mike Huckabee for President.
Tx is a great state and I am embarrassed that such comments are being made,
A TX taxpayer
I am sick of hearing these people saying to step down for the good of the party. The republican party is dying. We have let it go to the liberals and they no longer stand for our conservative views. We are all Americans first and republicans second. I dont give a crap about if someone is a republican or democrat. I am an American and if a pro life, low taxes, pro American Democrat actually rose up i would vote for them, although I highly doubt that would ever happen considering what they have all stood for the last 30 years. We need a real American in the White house and Mike Huckabee is that man. If Romney had dropped out before super tuesday we would be looking at front runner Huckabee today.
I was early on a Romney supporter. However, now that he is out, I would certainly rather have Huckabee represent my views on amnesty and social issues than McCain. Lets drop any hard personal feelings some people may have and look at the issues. I could not vote for McCain and grant government benefits to millions of people who are not here legally, and leave the way open for more deals with democrats restricting free speech and amnesty.
If McCain does not get the total delegates needed to nominate, then the conservative delegates may be able to work something out. McCain showed how this can be done in West Virginia.
As for Perry, I vote in Texas and I will be voting for Huckabee.
All of these people want Huck to quit for the good of the Republican Party. How about letting him run for the good of our Country?
Remaining states that Huck WILL win… Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. I think that would get him up there with McCain and at least lead to a brokered convention.
I read an interesting article on the website for The Council on Foreign Relations which clearly points out that several states no longer are winner take all races for the Republicans, including California. It is a “proportional” state.
With this in mind, and the potential for some delegates (f0r those candidates who have dropped out of the race) switching their allegiance, is John McCain really a “lock” on winning the Republican nomination?
I don’t think he is as close to a majority of delegates (at the convention) as some pundits might think. His coronation as the Republican nominee may be a bit presumptive!
I vote in Texas and was very much for Romney. I would have preferred that Huckabee had not been a spoiler early on, but at this point I will certainly vote for him instead of McCain. He is the only chance to keep McCain from pushing more amnesty bills and restricting free speech, in deals he will make with the like of Ted Kennedy. I voted for Perry but would not be likely to do so again, for numerous reasons.
Even if Huckabee can’t stop the nomination of McCain, he may be able to force McCain to reach some sort of agreement with the center and conservative wings of the republican party, along with the delegates already elected for Romney. McCain showed what you can do even without a majority in the caucuses of West Virginia. Lets follow his example.
If you were for Romney, you may personally resent Huckabee, but had you rather have McCain represent this country on amnesty and social issues?
Not the first time Rick Perry has been a jerk. Just because Bush handed the goverorship to you doesn’t mean you get to always have a coronation.
FOR ALL OF MY LIFE, SINCE THE 50’S, THIS NATION HAS CHANGED, EVERY YEAR.
IT GETS BETTER OR WORSE DEPENDING ON YOUR VIEW AND OR AGE AT THE TIME.
IF YOUR PERSPECTIVE OR NATURE IS OPTOMISTIC, OR PESSAMISTIC,
HALF FULL VS: HALF EMPTY?
THEY, YOU AND I SEE THE SAME THINGS DIFFERENTLY.
THE ONE THING WE CAN AGREE ON THOUGH, IS THAT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,
IS OUR COUNTRY. LOVE IT OR HATE IT, IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO NURTURE AND DEFEND.
THIS FRAGILE AND BEUTIFULL FLOWER CALLED FREEDOM.
WE CAN RIP IT UP AND FIGHT ABOUT THE REASON OR FOUNDING OF THE COUNTRY BY;
THE ROOTS. BORN IN THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE CONSTITUTION,
WITH AMMENDMENTS, SHOULD OR NEED TO BE REVISED?
WE FOUGHT OUR OWN CIVIL WAR OVER THE RIGHT OF STATES TO BE FREE, OF THE GOVERNMENT TOO.
BUT THE PERENNIAL NATURE OF IT, WILL LET IT PUT FORTH NEW AND VIBRANT ROOTS.
AND HELP THE WHOLE NATION TO KNIT ITSELF BACK TOGETHER. INTO WHAT IS REALLY,
A VERY UNIQUE AND VERY REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT! AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL,
FROM SEA TO SHINNING SEA.
FREEDOM. - TRUST. – ARE BOTH, EARNED AND CHERISHED.
BY EVERYONE WHO LIVES HERE. FOR GENERATIONS HAVE GIVEN EVERYTHING TO COME HERE,
AS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY ATTESTS, BUT THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH! MY FRIEND. NOT FOR CONGRESS, OR THE SENATE OR THE OFFICE. THERE IS NO MONARCHY IN AMERICA.
NO DYNAST TO FALL BACK ON, OR FOLLOW FOR THE ARISTOCRATIC CLASS WAREFARE THAT THE ELITIST MEDIA AND POLITICAL MACHINES RELY ON, AND DEPEND ON TO STAY IN POWER.
THE VOTE FOR THE PRESIDENT SHOULD BE FOR THE COUNTRY, NOT THE PARTY. FOR OUR CHILDREN, NOT TO BURDEN THEM WITH THE COST OF THE ELECTION AND FOIST VIEWS THEIR PARENTS WOULDN’T UPON THEM. LEAVE THE INTERNAL NUCLEAR FAMILY ALONE.
WE DO BEST WITHOUT GOVERNMENTS INTERVENTION IN OUR EVERY DECISION AND THEN EXPECT US TO FUND THEIR BOONDOGLE TOO?
SO VOTE, OR DON’T VOTE. BUT INDECISION IS STILL, A DECISION.
END TRANS: MARV!
Give me a break. Huckabee needs to drop out. There is a very distinguishable line between optimism and what reality is, and Huckabee passed that line months ago. His statement of praying for a miralce not only demonstrates that he knows his chances are slim, but proves he is totally inept of forsight and key decison making skills. I am not a fan of McCain, but I am tired of Huckabee and his anitquated ploys.
Huckabee should have dropped out after Florida, he is is just a self centered Anti Morman Bigot…who has no chance of winning the Nomination…but continues on… in the hopes J
Juan McCain will make him the running mate…Pathetic…Indeed! Romney was the only chance to beat Hillary or Osama
In my life the people who talk the most about how religious they are, are typically the most dishonest. Actions show a lot more. Huckabee’s actions in this campain have been anything but Christ like. Last time I read the Bible I do not recall Christ talking about how he failed at math but majored in miracles. He just went about his Father’s business and did them along the way. Huckabee and the Evangelicals need to stop playing the religion card an telling the rest of us how terriffic they all are. EVANGELICALS DO RELIGION A FAVOR AND START ACTING LIKE CHRISTIANS NOT JUST CLAIMING TO BE CHRISTIANS.
I voted Huck today in Kansas. I’ll support Mac if he is the nominee, but bigwigs telling Huck to get out of the way for the “presumptive” nominee is really going to piss a lot of conservatives off. That whole attitude really smells….
Never say die! Go Huck! I hope all the voters in Texas let their so called governor know he has no business asking this of a viable candidate. Mccain is way to old to take office. He’ll be 76 before the end of his first term (if he makes it that far) Have you ever noticed how fast the presidents age while in office. It is a very stressful, demanding job suitable for one much younger than Mccain. I will vote Obama before Mccain. But that won’t be necessary because Huck will be there by the grace of God. Miracles happen everyday!!
Yeah right, like the Huckster ever did anything for Romney and he’s supposed to just give his delegates to Huck-a-joke. Get over it. That will never happen
May I remind you Romney people that it was Romney’s choice to leave. Perhaps he shouldn’t have spent 35 million of his dollars, flip flopped on MAJOR Republican issues then made himself to seem conservative. While I respect him for his accomplishments and such I don’t think it is fair for anyone to tell Mike Huckabee that he should have dropped out. His prime states are coming up as you just saw today and at Super Tuesday. Perhaps had ROMNEY not been in the way then we would have gotten the extra push to win Oklahoma and Missouri as well because we came in a CLOSE second in those. What I’m saying isn’t anything to bash Romney but to say this…what’s done is done. He pulled out. Now you have two choices…McCain or Huckabee. As far is it being for the “better” of the party…I think we all know if we want a true Republican as the nominee, a man of integrity, a man who cares about the economy for EVERYONE, who is strong and consistent in pro life, marriage amendment, and pro second ammendment, then the obvious choice is Mike Huckabee. Maybe YOU shouldn’t tear up the party by whining about how Romney is gone. Vote conservative like Romney says he was and stick to your guns.
As for Perry…I’m from Texas and like someone said. He’s not really that loved by us so he should keep his mouth shut, stop making calls, and realize the big and mighty Texas might just go to Huckabee. Someone who is a true conservative and true Republican.
Write in Romney!
Never quit!!!!!!
I just lost respect for my governor - Don’t quit Mike! I am a proud Huckabee supporter here in Dallas, TEXAS and I am frustrated with our governor’s attempt to stop the best candidate still running (and arguably from the beginning) from seeking the nomination. McCain is not inevitable - Conservatives are uniting for Huck!
I am a long time Republican party supporter.
If John McCain is the Republican candidate for President in November I will vote for Obama if he is the Democrat candidate.
If it’s Hillary I’ll stay home!
Perry needs to focus on his own problems in Texas; he’s got enough of them. He could take a few lessons from Huckabee on how to be a successful governor. Huckabee stands out as the only candidate who is still in touch with what individual citizens’ [i.e., voters'] needs and concerns are. He’s a proven leader, and a successful communicator and problem-solver. McCain has become just another entrenched District of Columbian who doesn’t bother to listen to what the voters are trying to tell him. Instead of listening to voters, he’s using telemarketing technology to force his tape-recorded name into our households–several times a day. Creepy.
The heck with the Party-what has the party done for conservatives lately?Let’s embarrass Juan McCain some more!
Huckabee’s response to Perry was exactly what is so attractive about Huckabee. He’s down-to-earth and tells it the way it is. He’s a common man with uncommon political savvy, common sense, and no bovine excrement.
mike huckabee is the only true conservative and should be the one representing republican party.i truly believe he will make this country better unlike mccain or hillary or obama
I am sad that any of them dropped out. I wanted a brokered convention. I can understand why they dropped out though. Math is math although I don’t see why it would harm either party to have a brokered convention. Unfortunately, Huckabee staying in is not going to make the Republicans any more conservative. Sorry, but religion aside, the man is a liberal. Even Chuck Norris stated in his statement about McCain being too old that age was the deciding factor when choosing who to support. Chuck now blows it off as being tired, but when you are tired, your innermost thoughts come out. It is an interrogation technique. I wrote down the records of both men and compared them one by one. Huckabee is McCain lite.
I live in Washington state, and at 50 I have only voted in one presidential campaign, for a libertarian, and we don’t even have that option any more. The first time I heard Mike Huckabee on TV I joked a little, but each time I heard him, another little bell went off in my head. The democrats have Obama, but seem bent on finding a way to get Clinton back, the question is which one? The republicans have nothing to offer me, a ‘young baby boomer’ entrepreneur, except one….Mike Huckabee!!!
He’s the first politician in a long time that seems willing to embrace the idea that our tax system is a self-feeding monster that is beyond repair. Every time they try to fix it, they make it more complex and expensive to administer. I don’t believe he has all the answers, but is on the right track. It’s not that everything is too expensive, it’s that we have a government that will spare no expense, AT OUR EXPENSE!
As a business owner I’d like a government that’s looking out for US with OUR $$$. But I would like all the sensation-driven reporters to take note that there are alot of ‘Huckabees’ in our country. I know that I’m not the only citizen who would like to see debates where ALL the candidates are respected and given EQUAL TIME. What’s wrong with asking the questions that are relevant to the concerns of our country? What I saw was alot of leading questions to the ‘media darling’ front runners. I think it is remarkable that Mike has done so well inspite of being attacked, turn everywhich way and ignored. I think they’re scared, as well they should be!
Am I the only person who wonders how much the well meaning(?) press affected the outcome of the race in California Tuesday by declaring projected winners on the east coast hours before the polls closed on the west coast?
I challenge everyone to ask themselves the following questions-
Do I care enough about the future of my country to participate in the process?
Am I willing to stand for and believe in my vote enough to make an educated vote vs. a fear driven ‘lesser of evils’ vote based solely on media hype?
Do I believe this country can withstand another 4 years of corporate greed, federal mandates, and very expensive wars without limit?
Isn’t managed for profit heath care a conflict of interest?
If you answered yes to any or all of these, REGISTER NOW (if you aren’t!), Participate, and VOTE, or be prepared to get the government you deserve, by default!
I’ve been so disgusted for so long, but now “I’m mad as he##” and looking for an old TV to throw out the window (before paying to recycle it)! Then tomorrow I plan to go to the Huckabee rally in Kirkland tomorrow and attempt to find out for myself why he isn’t going away like the ‘pundits’ wish he would. I’ll be back. PJC
Update- Went to the Huckabee rally on Friday, was really impressed with Mrs. ‘Janet’ Huckabee, and look forward to going to see Mike if he can get up here. Saw he took Kansas, and hope Louisiana follows. People need to start having hope and believing in miracles again. Also, wouldn’t it be great to not have to watch all those FEAR ads about settling with the IRS, why do the people allow their government to continue to raise revenue that way? It’s time to take it all back, simplify, and go on BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE TO MATTER!
All u so called republicans need to get clue as to what is going on. Barack Hussein Obama AKA Drug Abuser is steam rolling his way to the DEMS nomination. Along his way he is picking up a whole lot of REP and IND, this is our fight ‘not with each other’. If we dont learn to give and take with in our party then I am sure the Democrats dont mind doing all the taking, like your guns, your money, freedom and list go’s on and on.

Go check out the only true conservative left… If you like what you see and feel compelled donate… I do every payday. Go Huck!!!
use code R13949
If Romney really cared about the party he would release his delegates. Then we could have a real race to the finish! And the Texas Governor could eat crow.
We in Texas would like for Rick Perry to quit… Could it be he has visions of grandeur and would like to be VP? This country would really be in trouble..
I live in Fort Worth, TX and I am going to vote for Huckabee. ( I was a Thompson fan..but he didn’t have the energy). I will never vote for McCain. I am upset with my Texas Gov. Rick Perry. He first supported the former Mayor of New York….what a waste….now he supports McCain. I am very disappointed. I was already upset with Gov. Perry for his support of the super highway that he wants to build in our great state. Just wait America if his highway gets built….those illegals are going to be driving here faster than ever.
Huckabee has my vote.
Let McCain have the nod…….so I can gloat with all the “I told you so’s” in November when he LOSES!
Why, you ask, would I ever wish for that? Simple, its for the good of the party in the longterm!!
When McCain loses all the Reaganite conservatives will ask, “How did it ever come to this?”
And the answer, quite simply, will be that “we will not get excited and vote for a nominee that does not represent our core values.”
And with that embarrasing loss my friends you can be certain that McCain would be the LAST moderate to ever get the Republican nomination again.
GO JOHN MCCAIN GO……to a loss in the general election…… for the good of the party!!!
I am very proud of Mike Huckabee. He has shown great courage in standing up for what he believes is right. I have been listening to FOX News since it’s inception and truthfully, I’m a bit discouraged as to the negativeness that you have given Mike Huckabee. He is a good man, with a great moral compass. He has great ideas for the good of our country. He has a great wit about him and it is evident that he will not stand idly by while his enemies attack him.
I’ve also lost my faith in Sean Hannity. He has flipped and flopped since this election has started. He started out endorsing Rudy Guliani, then Mitt Romney and now he’s siding with McCain. I smell a rat! Why won’t Sean just come out and say that he doesn’t like Huckabee because he’s a Baptist? That’s the real reason isn’t it? Well, I’ll tell you, Mike has my vote and I’ll stand next to him and defend him in this fight.
If FOX News doesn’t start giving Mike Huckabee the air time he deserves, you will be stuck with Hillary or Obama for the next 4 to 8 years. Is that what you really want?
Romney the flip flopper? Give me a break. It’s not flip-flopping. It is evolution Compare a young Reagan with Romney at the same place in their political lives. Reagan was a new deal Democrat. Just look at his speech on Youtube in support of Harry Truman. While governor of California in 1967, Reagan signed the most liberal bill in the nation at the time legalizing abortion– 6 years before Roe v. Wade. He later became one of the loudest voices against abortion. Go give it a rest. By leaving now when the numbers are overwhelming, Romney will be in a great position. Huckabee is just burning bridges.
Governor Perry does not speak for every Texan. In fact he needs to keep his mouth shut, and let the people of Texas decide for themselves who they want for President.
Huckabee needs about 85 percent of the remaining delegates to win the nomination, a difficult but not impossible task. I would like to put a Huckabee McCain bumper sticker on my truck.
McCain was never my choice for GOP President but I think he’d be a sight better than Huckabee. I don’t trust ANYONE from Arkansas after the Clinton debacle! Don’t be fooled into thinking Huckabee will be tougher on illegal immigration, he gave in-state tuition rates to illegals saying “they’re all God’s children.”
If McCain is the GOP nominee PLEASE, PLEASE vote the GOP party if not the man. By not voting, or by voting for another party you will surely hand the election over to Hillary (or Obama if he becomes the nominee).
Just remember what happened in the 2006 mid-term elections. Republicans became disgusted with the Party and stayed home. By not voting Republican, the Democrats took control of Congress.
Please don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. We’ll all suffer for it.
Mike Huckabee has been nothing but a negative for the Republicans so far. He is looking to divide the party and elect the Democrats. While he stays in the party, McCain (the inevitable nominee) will suffer division from the Evangelicals (Huckabee’s supporters).
If McCain wins, no strong conservative will vote for Clinton or Obama. If they do, then they are not a true conservative. Clinton & Obama are many times more liberal than McCain ever will be.
If Huckabee wins, it is a foregone conclusion that most, if not all, Independents, fiscal Republicans, liberal Republicans will all vote for Obama or Bloomberg. Plus, you have to add into the mix everyone that Huckabee continues to alienate and offend.
You don’t have to be good at the math, Huckabee doesn’t add up to a victory for the Republicans.
How many are SICK of the media’s slanted journalism against Huckabee? Not that I would mention names….FOX! Lol The media is always adding extra meanings to his name like “Southern Baptist pastor”! He’s not running to be a preacher! They never called Mitt Romney a Mormon Bishop, and to my understanding he still is one right now. Actually, I’ve realized that when the media displays someone as being not fit for the job, they are probably fit for the job better than anyone else. Don’t listen to the media…they can’t be trusted.
GO HUCKABEE!!!
AFTER ALL THE SHENANIGANS PERRY HAS PERFOMRED AS GOV. OF TEXAS, I WOULDN’T PAY ANY ATTENTION HIM EITHER. GO HUCK!
