Huckabee to Make Guest Spot on First SNL Since Writers’ Strike

Border

Saturday Night Live’s first show since the writer’s strike forced it from the air 16 weeks ago will feature Mike Huckabee in a guest appearance, FOX News learned Wednesday.

The former Arkansas governor is not expected to host this weekend’s SNL — that job is reserved for “30 Rock” star and former cast cast member Tina Fey.

But a spot on the NBC sketch comedy show will at least give him some extra time in the limelight as rival John McCain works to close him out in the GOP race. Democratic candidate Barack Obama appeared as himself during the show’s last episode before the strike, on Nov. 3, 2007.

Huckabee has been a favorite of the late night comedy circuit since he launched his underdog bid.

Conan O’Brien, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert even staged a mock feud on their shows in early February over who “made” Huckabee.

FOX News’ Serafin Gomez contributed to this report.

To Dean:
I don’t need to respond to your attempts to goad me by making personal attacks on my education and on my faith… as it is only a reflection on your own ignorance, lack of intelligence and personal courtesy, which is the only way one can react-out of anger when their own limited views are threatened.

You really need to read FACTS- not articles written by others. Not only are your statements misrepresentative of Governor Huckabees’s true record, but you also make disingenuous the fact that the people, CITIZENS, of Arkansas liked what he did so much that they kept re-electing him for 10 1/2 years!

He CUT TAXES nearly 100 times in the state of Arkansas and turned a $200 million deficit unto an $850 surplus! FACT!

Fact! Recognized by his peers for leadership, he was selected by the National Governor’s Association to be its Chairman and honored by TIME magazine as one of the 5 best Governors in America!

Fact! He reduced Welfare roles by 50% in Arkansas through programs he implemented!

When Governor Huckabee left office the tax rates remained exactly the same as when he first came into office! He returned almost $400 million to Arkansas taxpayers and he also DOUBLED the standard deduction for individuals and married couples, Doubled the childcare tax credit and eliminated the marriage penalty. He also repealed capital gains taxes for home sales, lowered the capital gains rate by 25% expanded the homestead exemption and set up tax-free savings accounts for medical care and college tuition.

Roads in Arkansas were ranked as some of the nation’s worst and now are ranked as some of the nation’s most improved!

He also spearheaded educational reform bringing test scores their from 48th place to 8th ranked in the country! He was in fact Chairman of the Education Committee for two years working with governors, legislators and education chiefs to advance education policy, research and effective trends in education!

:As Chairman of the Education and Arts Commission of the States, Mike created a two-year
initiative called “The Arts - A lifetime of Learning,” which promotes the benefits of arts education to all fifty states.

These are a few of the things that Mike Huckabee fought and battled a democratic congress to achieve and even the people until they realized that he knew what he was doing and could see the VERY POSITIVE changes he made in their state. HE IS A DOER- A SHAKER- AND HE IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE WITH THE EXPERIENCE AND RECORD TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

YOU WANT TO TALK ISSUES- THEN GET THE !
HUCKABEE’S RECORD OF EXCELLENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS STANDS ALONE IN THIS RACE AND THAT IS WHY THE MEDIA HAS TRIED TO KEEP IT A SECRET, BECAUSE IF AMERICA KNEW WHAT A LEADER HE IS, HE WOULD INSTANTLY BE THE CHAMPION OF ALL Americans and CONSERVATIVES, NOT JUST THE ONES WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO FIND the truth FOR THEMSELVES!

Dear Maria,

I am educated and you are dumb like Huckabee.

Maria, this is not about grammar, and I am not even talking about Huckabee. This is what your wrote:

“SARAH JANE…….I don’t speak English very well and I always have problem with my grammar. Please be nice to Huckabee…..English is my third language.”

Maria, see how the word grammar is bumped up against the word Please, like “grammar. Please” Just hit the space bar after the period and you’re all set. Whatever your first and second languages are, I’m sure they separate sentences in those languages too.

Children… Please. Insults will get you nowhere. I find this to be a very trivial article to get so excited about. Lets watch and see what happens!

One last one and I am done for the evening:

Many Huckabee supporters and he himself liked to say the Mitt Romney had said a couple years ago that Mike would make a fine president.

But, Romney worships Satan and can’t be trusted because he is obviously so stupid to be led astray by those idiot Mormons.

So again, if Romney’s judgement were really that questionable, why would you even want it made known what he thought before? Sounds like the kiss of death to me. But since Mike kept saying it in the debates, it must be that Romney really does know what he was talking about. But, just like his original stance on abortion, things change. And in Romney’s case, always for the better and for more conservative ideals.

SARAH JANE…..look who’s talking! How many language do you know?I bet if you speak any language besides your language, you will make a mistake also.Be nice, okey.Try not to criticize,if you do, it will come back to you as a boomerang.Mark my word,it’s true.I know some Americans who can’t even spell or read very well, but they’re nice to me.

Dean,

don’t preach to me about the clean conservative wing of the party. Delay, Cunningham, and even St. Rush have all had more than their fair share of problems. We are all human…Face it, Arch conservatives don’t run the party anymore. they are just louder. If they did, they would have a candidate in the race, but as they have obviously put us in the position of losing the senate, the house and likely the white house, so their and consequently your opinion doesn’t carry the weight you would like any more. Evangelicals blindly followed your lead like sheep for a long time. Some guy wrote something on another board about the jedi knights of the party, and he is right, you guys have lost that status. What power do you wield, what candidate were you pushing that got through except allowing mccain in? You cry about Hucakbee splitting the conservative vote-what makes you think you have the right to order around the evangelicals into voting for who you “arch conservatives” want? I am a fiscal conservative and I hate taxes and and hate social programs that pay lazy people to sit on their derrieres, and am not exactly religious, (a wayward urban catholic)judging by the depth of my vices. I am not a perfect profile of a Huckabee voter, but I don’t care about all your reasons for not wanting Huckabee-you don’t have a horse in the race any more, so bitterness is all I hear from you guys anyway. I like the issues huck is raising, like the fair tax, and infrastructure spending (which is investment in increasing productivity, so businesspeople know its not a bad word), wanting to secure our borders first and foremost, and make us energy independent in 10 years..you see, Dean, I like ideas, with the will and belief that they can be done, not focusing on penny ante stuff like how exactly was this piddly amount of house maintenance money spent…its laughable, petty, and useless. And that’s all I hear from the Jedis of the “True Conservative Movement”-petty, whiny, negativity. But I guess if I lost all my mojo, I wouldn’t be too happy either. you want to debate an issue, lets talk about the competitive advantage benefits of post production taxation as opposed to production inclusive taxation. That is the kind of discussion, regardless if Huck goes anywhere, has brought to the attention of thoughtful conservatives. That’s more than most candidates have done.

To close out discussing the Time article naming Huckabee one of the best governors, let’s see who else was on the list.

1) Huckabee made it as a Republican because he was fat and then lost weight and most of what they quote are liberal policies and him going against his own party.

2) Kenny Guinn (R-NV): “More often than not, incurring the wrath of your own party is a recipe for failure in politics. But in 2003, when Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn fought for the largest tax increase in state history, he not only infuriated his core Republican supporters but also sparked a bitter legal battle and a short-lived recall campaign against him.”

3) Janet Napolitano (D-AZ): other than being a Dem, the things she did were far more conservative than either Huckabee or Guinn.

4) Kathleen Sebelius (D-KS): Gee, again, she is a Dem, but they applaud her for selling off government cars and balancing the budget “in her first year in office without raising taxes or cutting funding for education”. Again, she sounds more conservative than Huckabee or Guinn.

5) Mark Warner (D-VA): his accomplishment was getting another Democrat elected in VA.

This list is not too glowing if you are a Republican. 4 out of the 5 seem to have made the list because they acted more like someone from the other party. This includes Huckabee.

So, do you really want to keep repeating the mantra of this top 5 governors thing?????
