Farrakhan Praises Obama as ‘Hope of Entire World’

CHICAGO — In his first major public address since a cancer crisis, Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan said that presidential candidate Barack Obama is the “hope of the entire world” that the U.S. will change for the better. The 74-year-old Farrakhan, former leader of the black Muslim group, never endorsed Obama outright, but spent much of his nearly two-hour speech Sunday to an estimated crowd of 20,000 people praising the Illinois senator.

“This young man is the hope of the entire world that America will change and be made better,” he said. “This young man is capturing audiences of black and brown and red and yellow. If you look at Barack Obama’s audiences and look at the effect of his words, those people are being transformed.”

Farrakhan compared Obama to the religion’s founder, Fard Muhammad, who also had a white mother and black father.
“A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,” he told the crowd of mostly followers. “A black man with a white mother could turn out to be one who can lift America from her fall.”

Farrakhan also leveled small jabs at Hillary Rodham Clinton, Obama’s rival for the Democratic nomination, suggesting that she represents the politics of the past and has been engaging in dirty politics.

Said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton: “Sen. Obama has been clear in his objections to Minister Farrakhan’s past pronouncements and has not solicited the minister’s support.”

Farrakhan rebuilt the Nation of Islam, which promotes black empowerment and nationalism, in the late 1970s after W.D. Mohammed, the son of longtime leader Elijah Mohammed, moved his followers toward mainstream Islam.

Farrakhan has drawn attention for calling Judaism a “gutter religion” and suggesting crack cocaine might have been a CIA plot to enslave blacks.

In recent years, however, officials with the Nation of Islam have promoted unity and tolerance among religions. Farrakhan now often quotes the texts of other religions, such as the Bible, in his speeches.

Farrakhan’s keynote address at McCormick Place, the city’s convention center, wrapped up three days of events geared at unifying followers and targeting youth.

It had a different tone from a year ago, when Farrakhan made what was called his final public address at a Saviours’ Day event in Detroit. The 74-year-old was recovering from complications from prostate cancer and months earlier had temporarily passed on leadership duties of the organization’s day-to-day activities to an executive board.

Obama’s camp will no doubt try to distance themselves from Farrakhan’s remarks. But the fact of the matter is that it is really strange and unusual for a Muslim to sing the praises of a commited Christian unless there really are somethings that we still don’t know about Obama.

If Obama really wants to convince us that he has nothing to do with Farrakhan, then the first thing he should do now is to leave the church that he says he has been attending for the last 20 years - since that church’s minister also endorses Farrakhan.

If these Obama supporters wish to be taken seriously, they need to learn how to spell. Just correctly using the English language might help too… I can hardly understand their phonetic ranting.

An endorsement from an anti-Semite bigot! Now there’s a real help to Obama’s campaign!

Now’s the time to ask Obama where he stands on Israel.
Has anyone asked the candidates for their views?

Michelle Obama, having part of her degree in AA studies, is likely pro-Palestinian.
Most of the nutjobs from AA studies are. How much they influenced her?
It’s an open question.

We already know where Farrakhan stands.

For those of you who don’t know who Louis Farrakhan is I’ll fill you in. He is a leader in the Nation of Islam whose bigoted and anti-Semitic rhetoric have included statements calling whites “blue eyed devils” and Jews “bloodsuckers”. He refers to Judiasm as a “gutter religion”. He has been honored by Obama’s church as a great leader. While Obama has said he doesn’t agree with Farrakhan’s statements, he has never denounced him.

Obama is telling everyone what they want to hear so that he can get elected. The media is helping him do it by trashing Hillary now. The same thing is in store for McCain. If either one of them had gotten an endorsement from scum like this it would be all over the news.

STOP OBAMA NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

This follows he fierce urgency to lie, the audacity to jive, and the second hand collection of X terrorist (Tom Hayden-a failed California legislator), Malley, the son of Arafat close pal, and other Clinton throw away, like Mme. Power, the failed Secretary to Africa, or the hungy feeder Ms. Albright who forgot who her parents were,, but knew the right steps when dancing with the North Korean Elvis. This is a pathetic candidacy that will fail to produce the kind of change America needs.

God help us. Please all you zombies snap out of it. This creep has no more business being president than I do.

I understand that in the muslim faith, lying is accepted as long as it will help you (the muslim) to defeat your enemies (all non-muslims). In other words, lie all you want, as long as it serves to spread Islam. What a convenient religion for those who hate and want to kill their enemies.
So far it’s been smooth sailing for Barak and his wife. But when they win the official nomination, they will discover that politics can be as unmerciful as radical muslims. And if there is a muslim hair on his head, he better pluck it out, because it will be uncovered. And I’m satisfied that America does “not” want a muslim in the White House.
Islam has many vehement enemies in America because it is such a violent religion. And because it ‘is’ such a violent religion, that fear is presently keeping them in the closet. But there is a line in the sand, and Americans will only be pushed so far by this domineering religion.

This guy still alive? I thought he died long time ago. He’s the most ridiculous human being on earth. “A black man with a white mother became a savior to us,” What’s this supposed to mean? If we don’t have a white blood, we’re not good enough? I CANNOT stand Farrakhan!! I feel sorry for those people who follows him. He’s a fraud!!!
