Wow - I once again realize why the right to speak one's mind is so important. The ideas and opinions that have been expressed here range from the ridiculous to the racist to the informed. This variety shows how challenging it can be for issues and reasoned debates to reach the millions of voters who are simply tuned out from what is actually happening in the world. This also reminds us all of how lucky we are to have a democracy where, albeit at times dysfunctional and abrasive, people can express their opinions. I certainly don't agree with a lot of what has been written here - but God bless you all for participating with words rather than bullets.

Nobody likes to hear the truth and Cunningham is now in trouble. And Hussein's wife, Michelle? Did anyone read her college thesis? The "whites" have certainly done her wrong, and I don't care if she was twenty or 120, she is a racist also. Along with the church they attend, which is "black" centered and includes honoring Louis Farrakhan.

Even as my wife & I selected names for our children that have spiritual connotations for the good and for the direction, character and calling for their lives, we must consider how they are associated with culture and purpose. Many years ago and even today in some cultures, your name represents who you are, your integrity and character. Unfortunately, the U.S. has lost this custom in general.

In saying that, the literal meaning of parts of his name, Barack Hussein Obama, is something to consider as good attributes, but with what this man is associated with in his life and his upbringing definitely brings contrast to the meaning of his name. Obama's first two names mean "blessing, the good." Quraishi said Hussein is a common Muslin name, "which means handsome or beautiful. Now if he has problems with his name, well, that is his problem and it appears that he needs to have his self esteem healed up. I don’t think someone who is ashamed of his name needs to be President or is capable of handling greater pressures than being intimated by his name.

How can someone with these attributes in their name represent the complete opposite? Some say he belongs to a “Christian” church; just because you go to a pizza restaurant doesn’t make you a pizza. Based on the fact sheets of what he believes and the way he stands “votes” on issues there is no relationship between Christianity and his values. We must judge a tree by its fruit, its facts. An apple tree will produce apples. So, show me the fruit of someone who claims to support Christian beliefs. No, he is not perfect, but give me a break; I wouldn’t even say he represents good based on his voting decisions unless good has become evil and evil has become good.

What I find frustrating is allowing someone who has been part by name, family and practice of a militant - religion that promotes terrorism from its very scriptures, to be eligible to run for President or any other public office in the U.S.

Years ago, if you were associated with communism and any connected groups you were sought out as a threat to our nation. What's the difference with people associated with terrorist religious groups?

I dont think John McCain apologized for the Hussien comment. He apologized for Cunningham saying “Obama just came back from meeting Ahmadinejad; he’s got a meeting the next week with Kim Jong Il of North Korea. Then he’s going to saddle up next to Hezbollah; they’re going to have a little cookie-and-cream party. All’s going to be right with the world." This is the comment that was offensive.

Obama has never said he is ashamed of his middle name. Those who mock him for his middle name are ignorant and unfortunately ignorant people automatically associate a person with a middle name "Hussien" as a terrorist.

Does every american men name Charles need to change their name because they share neme with Charles Manson?
Jeffries in America change their names because of Jeffrey Dammer?

Barack Houssein Obama is the Senator's name. A name chosen by his parents. It
is a beautiful name. Leo Buscaglia always said be proud of your name. Senator Obama sure must be proud of his name. So Sadam Houssein parents felt it was a very good name. It has nothing to do with what Sadam Houssein became in history. Millions of males in the Middle East share that name.
Millions of americans share the same name with Charles Manson, and Jefrer's with Dammer.

Please concentrate on the issues America is concerned with. I voted for Senator Clinton, however Senator Obama is also a great candidate.

I see nothing wrong with what Bill Cunningham said.
Most of us should have already known that.
I was taught, some times a name, really means something.
As American's & voters, we have every right to know everything about a
candidate & future president. I think with him or Hillary, we'll be sold out again. I guess they weren't listening to who & why, they (Fanantic Muslims) crashed into the twin towers, & all the threats through many years, & other bombings they've done, & they want Israel (God's chosen), non living & want to take their "God" given land, by force. Arafat, a terrorist, invented the "Palestinian's". Arabs use them for that purpose, or else, they would take in their own people, on their own hudge countries, & wealth.
I think Hillary & Obama & others like them, need to go over to Iran & Iraq & stay. Universal. socialists health care, will only be another taxing inity.
We're already paying for the indigents, & illegals. Enough is enough. Canada & Europe & England have lines of people waiting for health care, & some wait for months.

I'm not a McCain fan either. He is a turn coat.
Thank you, Fox News for letting us give our view points.

I am an independant thinker & voter, I vote for the person not the party.
The Democrats seen to never know, what a true American is suppose to be about, & for. They never worry about the horrible things they say about "christian's", God, our military, principals, etc..........

I hope Huckabee stays in, or else I can not vote.
American's wake up, stop looking for an easy way out. There never is one.

How cunning of McCain. He got to pull a Huckabee on Obama, yet used someone else to make the slur -- than after the innuendo was left to hang in the air for awhile -- with the message read loud and clear -- McCain magnanimously apologized and someone else got to take the fall....

Just like Huckabee did to Romney, except Huckabee at least did his won dirty work...

To the Left, To the Left.

Kudos on the Christian talk in relation to the right wingers. They are suppose to have the qualities of God and I don't ever see or hear it from the individuals they side with (Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, etc.)
Bunch of Hypocrites!

I understand Conservatives must stick together during this time of dismay. However, for me to watch Sean Hannity (who is a very intelligent man though I don't agree with a sizeable portion of his conservatve ideology) agree with Bill Cunningham as he pretends he's not emphasizing Senator Obama's middle name in a bad way is disturbing. This deserves the B.S. flag! Why can't Bill Cunningham admit his true intentions on using his middle name? If this loser [Cunningham] is saying his full name to show him respect as other presidents full names were used. B.S. Flag, anyone? How can go from saying he is a "hack-style Chicago politician", have the reputation of being a far right Conservative, be at a rally to support a Republican Candidate, John McCain, who can very well go against Barack Obama for the 2008 election, and expect America to believe you were just honoring his name. B.S. FLAG PEOPLE!

To top it off, he won't admit it, and most of the media-associated conservatives are supporting it and/or dismissing it.

One other thing. If John McCain can apologize for somebody [Bill Cunning-Pig] (i mean Cunningham] that denies he was implicating Obama's middle name with ties to Radical Muslims or a decease dictator, then why doesn't he apologize for Cindy McCain who sent a subliminal message to Michelle Obama, and denied it to the press? The same rules should apply to everyone discrediting his opponents.

If this loser [Cunningham] is saying his full name to show him respect as other presidents full names were used. B.S. Flag, anyone? How can go from saying he is a “hack-style Chicago politician”, have the reputation of being a far right Conservative, be at a rally to support a Republican Candidate, John McCain, who can very well go against Barack Obama for the 2008 election, and expect America to believe you were just honoring his name. B.S. FLAG PEOPLE!

To top it off, he won’t admit it, and most of the media-associated conservatives are supporting it and/or dismissing it.

One other thing. If John McCain can apologize for somebody [Bill Cunning-Pig] (i mean Cunningham] that denies he was implicating Obama’s middle name with ties to Radical Muslims or a decease dictator, then why doesn’t he apologize for Cindy McCain who sent a subliminal message to Michelle Obama, and denied it to the press? The same rules should apply to everyone discrediting his opponents.

Pretty scarey stuff!
We should all repent of our own sins;
and be immersed(baptized).

Wait a minute...that's not Muslim, Catholic, Baptist,
Methodist, etc. or whatever kind of man-made religion we
wish to create and accept - that's what God told people
who would follow His Son, Jesus Christ.

That was downright weak of John McCain to denounce Bill Cunningham !!!
First of all, Mac , it's a well-known rule of POLITICS that you never denounce your
own team, especially when you hand-picked Bill Cunningham to represent you/speak
FOR YOU at that political pow-wow !!! You threw your own player (teammate) under
      the bus !!! YEESH ! That's a "no-no" for sure !!!
Come On ! There were multiple replies you could have said to the Media/Press :

     1. " Well, I wasn't really expecting him to say THAT !!! I'm John McCain, and I DIDN'T approve THAT message." ( Humor diffuses )

     2. " HUH ! ".... "I never knew that was Barack's middle name !" (Refference to "Hussein" This is the infamous "DUMB ACT " )

     3. " You know , my Aunt Lucy was a lobster (pause)...yeah, we would pull on her anteneas to make her walk. One summer , we actually got her half-way across the table at a convention...
( This is an especially effective technique called the "Red Lobster/Red Herring"... they'll
forget what they originally came to question you about ).

     4. " Well , Bill's a little emotional , I love him to death (grimace), but that's the way he is." (The "I'm a Good Boy")

     5. " Well ,THAT didn't come from MY headquarters !!!" ( The "Wash-Your-Hands-Clean")

     6. " Ummm.... Barack Obama .... uhh... did COCAINE ,umm..is...uhh...is um,a product of
uh... you know... Frank umm.. the COMMUNISTIC MENTOR in Barack's book... on ... umm.. Wikipedia, but , uhh.......
you know , despite a recent photo of him in SOMOLIA GARB uhh... and... uhh... his um,
anti-American tendencies and proclivities,he.... you know ,BARACK REFUSES TO WEAR AN AMERICAN FLAG ON HIS LAPEL and WON'T PUT HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART DURING OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM ....umm... Barack
will make a HECK of a ummm.... President....but...uh.... I guess Bill Cuningham just isn't...
well...umm.. LIBERALE enough ,and ,ummm... I guess ( then REPEAT SUGGESTIONS 1-5 above)

Basically, I had nothing against either of the candidates personally... until today... when I found out that BOTH of them are in favor of SHUTTING-US-UP.... and I thought this was an election year ?!?
P.S. Where are the Republican debates ???

Barack Hussein Obama's first and middle name are muslim, not Christian. Is Barack Hussein ashamed of his middle name? He is trying to hide his true muslim background.

VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN IN NOVEMBER!!!

This guy badly needs help if he really believes what he said.
McCain claimed to have never met him. Cunnigham said they met twice. Then McCain says that he might have met him in a rally. I lost some respect for McCain today.

Also, we all know that the 9-11 terrorists are Muslim extremists. They by no means represent the average Muslim or the religion itself. So why is it okay to characterize all muslims as, at minimum, a threat to America, a bad thing, something to be afraid of. It is so bad, such that the religion is now seen as a negative thing in this country. And this is what Cunnigham basic premise in his speech.

We are much smarter than that. Here in America, we appreciate people from all walks of life. For most part, most people are not the bigots/racists Cunningham is hoping to appeal to.

Yes, his name is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA! Get over it!
None of us chose our background. Smith, Kelly, Coulter, Clinton, Obama - what difference does it make, each is as good as the other. If you think otherwise, get ready to justify your position.
Obama 08!

McCain took responsibility for what was done on his campaign trail. He was a man about it. Its McCain's campaign. He can apologize for whoever he wants. If Cunningham took it personally then he should cry about it. Its very clear who the manly man was, and who the wimp who took it personally was.

If the icon's who can't stand McCain are so right and they have so much influence, then why has McCain gotten so far?

I think Cunningham should go join his girlfriend Coulter and bless Hillary "Rodham" Clinton's campaign.
