Report: Rezko Raised Up to $250G for Obama’s Early Campaigns
Indicted Chicago businessman Tony Rezko raised up to a quarter-million dollars for Barack Obama during his early days in politics, Obama admitted in an interview with the Chicago Tribune published Friday on the newspaper’s Web site.
The Tribune reports that in the interview Obama portrayed Rezko as a bigger fundraiser for his early campaigns than previously thought. Obama said Rezko raised as much as $250,000 to support Obama’s first three campaigns for political office.
The real estate developer is currently on trial in a federal court in Chicago on political corruption charges. Rezko doesn’t deny his role as a high-powered money man for Democrats, but he has refuted prosecutors’ allegations that he tried to shake down companies that wanted to do business with the state.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has criticized Obama repeatedly for his ties to Rezko. Obama told the Tribune that he erred in pursuing real estate transactions with Rezko while the developer was under grand jury investigation.
Obama said he made “a mistake in not seeing the potential conflicts of interest,” since Rezko was a contributor, but added that voters still should trust him as a presidential candidate because he wasn’t engaged in any wrongdoing.

In todays, Saturday, March 15th, edition of the Houston Chronicle, Obama is quoted as “having made repeated lapses in judgement in dealing with indicted Chicago real estate developer,Antoin “Tony” Rezko.” Is this the “good judgement” he would have us believe he possesses in his quest for the presidency? I think more of his lapses in judgement will become apparent as we near the general election in November. He simply is not qualified to serve as President of the United States.
watch this guy, obama. he’ talks good, but watch him.
I’m just a retired school teacher, but I know when something smells of conflict of interest. To me this is a lame excuse, especially with Obama being a lawyer. If this is an example of his judgement and ethics, then I question his honesty.
I just wonder why we tolerate someone like Obama that people he associates with and still is are cursing our beautiful America and white people. The two black ladies on O’riely last night were very hateful toward Bill because they are black and he is white. The problem is Black people want the White Americans to still pay a debt to them about their Race. I think this is wrong. We just need to get Obama off the ticket so that we know who ever wins, won’t be racists and hate our country. It is a shame. I know that Jesus wept when he heard that Minister curse America and use the Lord’s name in vane. That is a mortal sin because one of the 10 commandments says not to use the Lord’s name in vane as it is one of the ten major sins. I am just begging along with other people , please denounce Obama and get him off the tickets before it goes any further. My husband and I are elderly and I have terminal cancer and this scares us badly that the Country we live in has these kinds of people threatening us. I really would like to hear that Homeland Security knows of this.
John and Joann
Since there is all talk about rezko,
lets talk about Norman hsu’s donations to Hillary clinton.
And also lets get this out once and for all Hilary’s tax returns,
Hilarys experence over seas, Her costly health care and all what she did
while in the white house.
Any one could sit outside the meeting in Ireland and talk to people
as she claims she was the only one.
It is amazing how Hussein Obama denies everything after it is brought out. He knew he was getting money from Rezco. He knew the racist remarks being made by the idiot Rev. Wright who is more of a racist than we think.
I think the media should quit wet nursing Hussein Obama and get to the point. He cries racist all the time and that is a fear to a lot of people. He preaches change but most of the people voting for Hussien Obama and Hillary do not want change. They want more government dole handed out to them. Working people in this country best to wake up, otherwise they will be taxed into starvation. Everyone screams about the money spent on fighting for our freedoms. I would like someone to tell me what the government spends on welfare programs for the illegals and those who will not work. if you hide their welfare checks and food stamps under their work boots they would starve to death, simply because they would never move the work boots and continue to look to the government to take care of them. Following are some very interesting facts.
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new
constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at
the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
‘A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government.’ ‘A democracy will continue to exist until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.’
‘From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who
promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result
that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which
is always followed by a dictatorship.’
‘The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years’
‘During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the
following sequence:
1. from bondage to spiritual faith;
2. from spiritual faith to great courage;
3. from courage to liberty;
4. from liberty to abundance;
5. from abundance to complacency;
6. from complacency to apathy;
7. from apathy to dependence;
8. from dependence back into bondage’
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul,
Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000
Presidential election:
Number of States won by:
Gore: 19
Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by:
Gore: 580,000
Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by:
Gore: 127 million
Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2
Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: ‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won
was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great
country.
Gore’s territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in
government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare…’ Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between
the ‘complacency and apathy’ phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of
democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already
having reached the ‘governmental dependency’ phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of losing the USA as we know it today, then by all
means, continue to vote for those who wish to tax the working man and give to those who do not want to work and live off government dole.
Most politicians have lived off that same dole, voting themselves big pay raises, medical perks, great retirements etc. They immediately forget who voted them into office. I have never seen a starving politician in my 80 years of life.
It seems to me like I have heard somebody else say,”You cant prove I did it”.
Rezko, Rev. Wright, Canadian memo, etc.. Where is the New York Times? Forget the NYT, where are the legitimate news agencies? America would like to know.
Will the real Barack Obama please stand up. This Guy has no judgement what so ever .This Guy is not presidental material. The Democrates should be ashamed.
Why don’t you write a few hundred pages on the corruption that occured with the Clinton’s? I see that you truly are hoping for a run between Hillary Clinton and John McCain because you know that John McCain will then win the presidency. Why don’t you throw all it out there and show the sides of both candidates not just Barack Obama. Hillary wants to take credit for half of Bill Clinton’s presidency and I want ALL the garbage of the Clinton era revealed to those who were too young or too dumb to remember. I for one remember and I just think if you want to be fair and impartial you would do a tad bit better of reporting all the news!
