Report: Rezko Raised Up to $250G for Obama’s Early Campaigns

Border

Indicted Chicago businessman Tony Rezko raised up to a quarter-million dollars for Barack Obama during his early days in politics, Obama admitted in an interview with the Chicago Tribune published Friday on the newspaper’s Web site.

The Tribune reports that in the interview Obama portrayed Rezko as a bigger fundraiser for his early campaigns than previously thought. Obama said Rezko raised as much as $250,000 to support Obama’s first three campaigns for political office.

The real estate developer is currently on trial in a federal court in Chicago on political corruption charges. Rezko doesn’t deny his role as a high-powered money man for Democrats, but he has refuted prosecutors’ allegations that he tried to shake down companies that wanted to do business with the state.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign has criticized Obama repeatedly for his ties to Rezko. Obama told the Tribune that he erred in pursuing real estate transactions with Rezko while the developer was under grand jury investigation.

Obama said he made “a mistake in not seeing the potential conflicts of interest,” since Rezko was a contributor, but added that voters still should trust him as a presidential candidate because he wasn’t engaged in any wrongdoing.

Here an eramark from Obama..WAKE UP AMERICA

Another one of the earmarks on the lists of requests was for the Construction Of A New Hospital Pavilion At The University Of Chicago, where Michelle Obama works:

Obama Requested $1 Million For Construction Of A New Hospital Pavilion At The University Of Chicago. In 2006, Obama requested that the University of Chicago receive $1 million to support its Construction of New Hospital Pavilion. For more than 75 years, the University of Chicago Hospitals (UCH) has provided state of the art medical care on the South Side of Chicago. UCH is one of the largest Medicaid providers in Illinois, and it provided more than $90 million in uncompensated care for Medicare and Medicaid patients this past year. To continue providing the best care for patients from all walks of life, UCH is proceeding with the construction of a new 600,000 square foot facility that will ensure their ability to provide the best care for patients well into the future. Funding will go towards assisting the construction and equipping a new hospital pavilion that will increase the Hospitals’ clinical capacity by over one-third. [Obama Request Letter to the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water, 4/7/06]

The reason the media is questioning that particular earmark is because of what could be considered a conflict of interest.

His wife, Michelle Obama, has worked for the University of Chicago Hospitals since 2002, at the time she was executive director of community affairs, making a salary of, according to the CNN Money, $121,910. That salary rose to $316,962 in 2005 as she became vice president of community affairs, right after Barack Obama became the Senator for Illinois.

The Obama campaign says that neither of those earmarks were discussed with Michelle Obama or James S. Crown.

How in the world can Obama say that Rezko “was a bigger fund-raiser than I thought”?? — Even the dumbest politician in America knows who his biggest fund-raiser is … Obama is a liar and a fraud …

Just another corrupt politician…..the more they dig the more they aare going to find. The media has given Obama a pass up to this point . We need an investigative reporter that has a pair to check this out further. We do need change in this country but not that kind of change.

Obomba probably did not hear Rezko say he had raised $250K for campaigns. Barack seems to be hearing-impaired at times. Hear what you’re missing.

This is just the beginning. As time goes on, and the Obama campaign is further scrutinized, I feel that he will be exposed as nothing more than yet another hack from the Chicago Democratic machine. Between the Rezko situation, his pastor, the Weather Underground associations, etc., that should be enough to give the majority of the American electorate pause. I wonder what else will come to the surface between now and November?

Obama,     How can you expect Me to trust you for the next 4 YEARS? You don’t see personal conflicts of interest in your own personal life or business (Rezko). You attend church 20 years, listen to hatefull sermons against America and did not once STAND UP to defend AMERICA!

I am SHOCKED that it took over a month for Senator Obama to finally say something about his pastor. This is the same pastor that Senator Obama supports through his regular tithing! The Senator family donates thousand of dollars to this church annually. That means he support his pastor’s RACIAL overtones and revolutionary statements of overthrowing America. Who does Senator Obama trying to fool and what is he trying to hide? Why is he openly, freely, and devotedly donated all that money to a cause if he doesn’t believe in it? Why is Senator Obama lying to America? This is as bad as Senator Obama still accepting all that money from his crooked land developer that he supposedly hasn;t seen nor talked to in years?
