FOX News Poll: More Than Half of Americans Believe Obama Doesn’t Share Views of Pastor Wright

Fifty-seven percent of Americans do not believe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama shares the controversial views of his former spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright, while about one in four (24 percent) believes he does share the Rev. Wright’s views. And a sizable minority has doubts about Obama because of his pastor’s comments, according to a new FOX News poll.
Republicans (36 percent) are more likely than independents (20 percent) and Democrats (17 percent) to think Obama shares Wright’s controversial and unpatriotic views. Whites (25 percent) are more likely than blacks (15 percent) to think so.
Over a third of voters (35 percent) and a quarter of Democrats (26 percent) and independents (27 percent) say Obama’s relationship with Rev. Wright has caused them to have doubts about him. Here the racial breakdown is stark: 40 percent of whites and 2 percent of blacks have doubts.
“One of the hallmarks of Obama’s campaign has been his ability to attract independent voters. This doubt brought on by the Wright controversy has to be troubling for Obama,” said Ernest Paicopolos, principal of Opinion Dynamics Corp.

It’s unclear how much damage, if any, the situation will do to Obama’s standing in his head-to-head race with Hillary Clinton, as Democrats so far are still almost evenly divided in their preference: 40 percent say they want Clinton to be the nominee and 38 percent want Obama. In February, the vote preference was tied at 44 percent each.
All in all, Americans think your choice in friends says a lot about you: Almost 7 of 10 say they think the people you choose to be your friends reflect on you and your values. And 39 percent say your friends reflect on you “a lot.”
Rev. Wright was Obama’s pastor and spiritual adviser for many years, and performed Obama’s wedding ceremony in 1992.
Most Americans — 72 percent — are familiar with the comments made by Obama’s former pastor.
Obama gave a speech on race in America in which he addressed Rev. Wright’s comments on March 18. Opinion Dynamics Corp. conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from March 18 to March 19 in the evenings. The poll has a 3-point error margin.
What half of americans? Please————- this guy sat in that church for 20 years. Obama needs to bow out. He will lose. I don’t care how much he says he doesn’t agree with the pastor words he still sat there and listened and worse let his young daughters hear all that.
Obama supporters please consider reading this with an open mind, it is not
meant to belittle your candidate. I think most of us democrats want a
democrat in office, which is why it is important to think about the
following:
Obama’s platform of better judgment and change:
It is flawed now, flawed due to the Rev. Wright, Rezko, and NAFTA issues
At the very least Obama’s judgment can be questioned now because of Wright
and Rezko. His changes are questioned because the records as a senator
show no sign of Obama being bold, willing to take a chance or even cross
over party lines. Obama was not able or not willing to even transcend the
racial issues in his own church. In addition because of Wright, Rezko and
NAFTA Obama is now tainted his clean image.
Perhaps the issue with Wright may fade in the primary election but you can
count on a big hyped up media explosion during the general election. All
of this is going to come out again and even more once the republican’s
machines latch onto it. I think there is a slim to no chance of winning
the general if Obama is on the ticket, I am sorry.
THANK YOU! You finally have credibility! Leave Obama alone. WTH judges someone by there PASTOR!! OMG..i swear if anyone judges me by my pastor (though I love him dearly)..they will be sadly mistaken!
Obama does NOT share those views. He is white and black and has personality that embraces EVERYONE..and tries to understand EVERYONE..that’s all!!!
Obama/Wright = WRONG!!!
Obama is not electable in the General Election for President of the UNITED States - All states & ALL People. He has turned this into a race issue.
GO HILLARY !!!!
He’s guilty either way. He sat in his racist church for 20 years. So he either approves or is an enabler.
Obama has a mind of his own. This thing will fade away, and by the time the Repubs try to bring it back up again, most people will be tired of it and will consider it a cheap distraction.
I mean, really people. Have you actually read his books? What about the fact that he taught Constitutional Law for years… has over 15 years of public service… has done more to unify voters than any politician in years. WHY would anyone who was not patriotic care about any of those things? You HAVE to love your country to have done what Obama has done.
If it’s actions that matter, and not words, then why is everyone so caught up on Wright’s WORDS, when Obama’s ACTIONS show that he does NOT subscribe to that way of thinking, and has brought more people together than any other politician in recent history? The diverse coalition that Obama has already assembled, the AMAZING record breaking contributions that his campaign has received, the overwhelming increase in enthusiasm and voter turnout… those are all ACTIONS. And those actions mean more to me than any of Wright’s words.
YES HE DOES
or he would not have his own young children LISTENING TO THOSE REMARKSEVERYTIME THEY GO TO CHURCH!!!!
Don’t be fooled anymore people
I am a blue collar worker from New York ( I know I don’t count! ). I don’t know much about Obama. This Wright thing is overplayed though. I mean we have heard this everyday for over a week. Does this fix the looming recession? The Iraq War? Enough already!
Hillary is a scam artist who will say anything to get in the White House ( what happened to Foster? ). McCain has his own church issues. What about who is going to serve the country?
It’s McCain or Obama. White America is not ready to accept a black president and the media has been waiting for this sort of thing to drown Obama.
I’m voting for McCain. I know exactly what he is and that he really doesn’t care about guys like me or my family. It’s every man for himself!!
What is wrong,Mr Obama needs to answer questions about how he feels about our country and the statements Rev. Wright made, he also can re-explain the statement his wife made about the first time in here history she is proud of this country. You people need to check out what she wrote about Black Separatist by Michelle Obama, and remember these two people sat in this church for 20 years and never question what was being said, and taught this garbage to their daughters. How can anyone say they don’t think Obama agrees with Rev. Wright but think about all the people involved in his life including his wife and Rezko Wake Up America.
I think Obama agrees with everything his pastor believes or he wouldn’t have “flocked” in to his church. I think Obama is a liar and would say or do anything to get the presidency. I think he is an evil man and we are lucky to have seen the “serpent” lying in the grass before we were bitten by it.
I have been at Obama’s rallies and was impressed by his great speeches and how he affected his audience by his speeches. What I do not understand is why Obama not denouncing his pastor/spiritual leader/mentor is not disturbing more Americans of all races. What would Americans do if a teacher in our schools made these same comments? EVERYONE would want that teacher to resign. Why should Obama’s pastor be treated differently than a teacher? Obama not only as a State Senator and US Senator continually witnessed these disturbing sermons to men, women, and CHILDREN of this church; he also contributed over a hundred thousand dollars to this church. Would he let a teacher in our schools that made remarks as this to continue these actions of hatred remarks to the children of America and do nothing as he allowed his pastor. Obama wants to be the president of the United States and AMERICANS actually think this action of doing nothing when remarks as this are made is acceptable. I understand that Obama can give a great uplifting speech but is actions are disturbing. I would think the people of Illinois should ask for Obama’s resignation from being their US Senator. There is absolutely no way that I could now vote for Obama. Think of the children in this church that listened to these sermons and the affect these words had on them and Obama and Michelle sat their and did nothing! We need a leader that will stand up and protect the children and people of this country. Not one that supports these actions by being in attendance and contributing money to this pastor! Who is the real Obama? More importantly why do so many Americans believe that Obama’s lack of actions in making a positive difference for the children of his church is acceptable? America needs more than glorified speeches. Speeches are only words. Actions are reality! The people of Illinois should rally together and ask for the resignation of their US Senator Barack Obama. If not, the Americans will view Illinois as a state that believes these actions are acceptable.
How is possible that somebody seat in the pew for 20 years and listen his pastor and is not going to share his views?
Racism has two ways in this moment, and is a shame discover that in US anybody, Pastor, Reverend, Priest , preach hate, and hate, and more hate, and people seat there and listen and share this speeches, If you feel that is offensive in anyway you stand up and leave.
I think that another big mistake is compare Osama’s speech with Dr. martin Luther King speech, is not a comparation whatsoever, and if Dr. king listened that Pastor I am sure he leaves that Church immediately, He was a very generous man, intelligent, honest, simple, religious, for sure he never accepted that phrase of “GD America” All this situation is a big shame, for all Americans, blacks, whites, latins, Asians, all American.
Sounds like some Americans have good critical listening skills. Just what would Jesus do in the matter of Obama and the radical pastor of Chicago?
We believe anything the media tells us…………………….
Ask only ‘church going people’ and you will have a different response. You don’t sit in a pew for 20yrs and listen to someone that you don’t have similiar views. And you certainly wouldn’t bring your children!
I believe he does share the same views or he would have left that church after 20 years.
Ya right, just like everybody beleives the president.
Why aren’t people holding Hillary responsible for the crazy things Geraldine Ferraro said? Why aren’t people holding MCCain responsible for that crazy preacher in Texas who said Katrina and 9/11 were God’s punishment for homosexuals in America?
Hum, that’s funny. I thought Hannity would be the FIRST to respond.
People believe what they want to believe.
I know Obama shares Wright’s views, He may not express them in the same way, but he does not trust nor really have any warmth for White. It shows in his body language.
If he didn’t when he got here he does now..
You cannot listen to that poison for 20 years without adopting it youself.
I don’t believe it. What Americans did you ask? Either people have lost their minds if they believe this man could spend 20 years around this minister and not share his views or we had better stop using circomstantial evidence in criminal cases. He has not been truthful about several items. The man is not believable!
I do not for one minute, believe that Barack, or anyone else in the civilized world , would sit under a pastor for 20 years, if they did not share the same views. Sure they might disagree on some minor points. But any clear thinking American would have left the congregation a long time ago. There is no doubt in my mind, that he ( Barack) is trying to fool mainstream American’s!
Barack Obama has again proven his ability to lead this country toward its full potential by using the force of reason, not fear.
he sat in those pews for 20 years and we are to beleive he doesnt have some of the same feelings hell if you sit in a sewer for 15 min. your going to get some stink on you. 20 years not even the very challanged would have trouble with this math
Excuse me, but how many people did you actually ask? You can’t spend 20 years listening to swill and not have it affect the way you live, think and react to situations.
I have grown up as a white middle class person. I have learned that many people who I know are prejudice to some degree. I’ve learned to live with this. I think many of us deal with prejudice as part of reality, the dirty part. If I cut my ties with people whom I disagree with I wouldn’t have a job, go to church, have friends, and participate in commerce. It is something I have learned is so pervasive that the only thing I can do is ignore it & lead my life by my own values. I suspect this is exactly what Obama has done, and if we are all honest it is what we have done also. We all hear racial slurs, discounting, & demeaning remarks. Perhaps I am wrong, but I think many people like myself choose to ignore these incidents as a means of not reinforcing them. I really do not know of anyone who has quit a job because their boss is prejudiced, drop out of school because a teacher is a bigot, or not buy a car because the dealer demeans women. It is so much a part of life, like rain or dirt, we live with it the best we can. I am not saying this is right or the best approach, I am simply saying this is what I think most people do & it doesn’t make them like the people they despise. Growing up we learn to take the bad with the good. I believe things do get better through meaningful experiences, but not through confrontation with people who are entrenched in their beliefs.
He absolutely DOES share Uncle Jeremiah’s views; that’s why he stayed in bed with him for 20 years. It’s despicable of Obama to even suggest that most other church-goers have heard their preachers spewing such garbage, but have still remained with that church.
It will be interesting to see what this poll shows one month from now… after more of the general public gets to know the REAL Obama; not the media-sanitized version.
Lincoln returns to re-unite America. Obama ‘08!
While it is popular to think a church leader is the basis for ones moral ground, i hesitate to think what direction Bush’s pastor has been steering the whole country, we have a truly noble cause in Iraq, near similar to vietnam and korea, but the loss of American soldiers life is truly heartbreaking to the country, I for one think there must be a better way to free Iraq, If Bush’s pastor is guiding through our present situation, lets analyze his rhetoric and comments!! If that suggestion is ridiculous then so is the assumption Obama is morally bonded to his old pastor, not his present pastor, as i understood a lot of people do not agree with comes out of the pulpit and i think Obama is entitled as a American to not be on the same page as his pastor, lets take this variable into consideration various factions would not like Obama to take office, because he would not support their cause, so it would be in their interests to show support, in order to cast disparagement on his campaign and so far its taking an effect, i mean im black and i would not want farakahn or wright to support my campaign, just because i dont agree with their tactics and moral base, while im nowhere near a presidential candidate, i should hope Obama should be afforded the same mindset to be at odds with a just smidgen of his supposed supporters. Obama can do it people, lets truly stop trying to find the negative and accentuate the positive, especially if we can overlook georgie’s cocaine stints so then we can look past Obama’s not to close associations with dare i say radical people!!!
mega black churches have been preaching Racism and unpatronic propganda for years. Itis now becoming public knowledge and catching up with them…
Most troubling however, is Obama’s Church only allowing memberships if Black and
Obama’s wife’s comment that “for the first time in my adult life, I feel proud to be an Americian” as accurate and from their heart.
His own wife condemed him by repeating the “Americia bashing” ideas to be her own as well as the pastor’s.
The intergrated schools and more equal employment opportunity enjoyed by this generation has lifted the mojority of blacks (those not old enough to have endured segeration) to belief that we are all equal. Thlis “racism” and country bashing” is propagated and spread by the “black mega churches”
Obama stayed in this church for twenty years and MUST have known his Pastors Views. He should have had enough wisdom to have left when he entered polotics that represented both blacks and whites as well as America.
Thlis may well cost him the presidentcy.
The man has to believe Wright or he would not stayed in that church for 20years. I would not
believe him face to face.
Hannity and Fox News:
Do you feel sorry for the suspension of McCain’s ade who circulated the Wright’s video on your station? Have you seen the damage done to McCain yet?
Play all cards you can. You only make Obama more spectacular and more republicans and independents voting for him.
Never never underestimate people’s judgement.
HEY MEDIA KEEP TALKING NEGATIVE ABOUT OBAMA AND THE PASTER WRIGHT CONNECTION. KEEP SAYING 40% OF THE WHITE VOTE ARE HAVING SECOND THOUGHT. JUST KEEP SAYING IT ENOUGHT AND YOU WILL DO YOUR JOB IN HANDING HILLARY THE NOMINATION. MOVE ON THE THE ISSUES ALREADY. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. YOU THE MEDIA KEEP THIS GOING AND CAUSE THE PROBLEMS. STOP ALREADY
This is very interesting. Those must be the same people that voted Bush in for a second term.
First of all, you don’t dedicate half of your life to something you don’t believe in. You do not refer to someone as your mentor, spiritual advisor, like a family member without knowoing their convictions. Secondly, look at Obama’s “social” relationship with Ayers. Let’s take Rev. Wright out of the picture and I think that should be enough to convince people about his beliefs. Thirdly, look at the statements that Michelle Obama has made. I find her statements so insulting to America and its people.
What about that picture I saw a glimpse of when he was standing with others, that appears to be during our national antheim or something similar, where everyone has their hands on their hearts, but him? I think that should be shown a little more.
If you paid attention to the History of this man, you would know he does not share in his EX Pastor’s views. He is a good caring, loving man who has affection for the good things about his EX Pastor. He is a Christian man.
It amazes me that 57% of Americans polled feel that Barack Obama does not share the views of his “spiritual mentor, like an uncle, pastor” of over 20 years!! They have got to be kidding!!! How can you attend a church where unpatriotic, racist sermons are being presented and refer to the pastor as a “spirtual mentor” and “like an uncle to me” and not share the same views? He is lying through his teeth and he is doing it for one purpose…the White House!! His own wife has publicly admitted to having NEVER been proud of America before her husband’s chance at the White House has rolled around!! NEVER??? Do we want a couple of unpatriotic racists like this in the White House? Will we be able to trust and believe Barack Obama in the future? Is he truly interested in a “United” States or “Divided-Segregated” States? America has come too far to go backward and that’s where he will take us!!
I heard last night on Hannity & Colmes that there is a new pastor who is linked to Barack Obama. It’s said that this guy calls gays a sinful disease. Now some are trying to condemn Barack for being associated with this guy. If some of these people are so called christians then why would a christian have a problem with this pastor’s comment? The bible backs up that guys statement by saying in Romans 1: 26-27&32 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
It’s not always right for you guys to politically correct. Don’t condemn this preacher for preaching the gospel if you want God to bless America.
40 percent of whites now have questions about Obama. Whoa! Superdelegates will have to step in and help nominate Hillary Clinton or the Dems are toast in November, as they should. That was supposed to be their role — to step in if for some reason the candidate with the most delegates (but not enough to secure the nomination) has become unelectable and unpopular for any unforseen reason. So the Dem system, often criticized, just might work the way it was envisioned to work.
How can you say that 57% of “Americans” believe this when you only polled 900 people. This is not a good cross section of American opinion!
It seems that most American voters are willing to take Senator Obama at his word when he says he does not “share the controversial views of his former spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright.” Fair enough, but then why did he attend the sermons, the church, and over two decades so befriend a man with whom he has such profound philosophical disagreement? If the poll were to ask, “Do you think Barack Obama harbors at least “some” sympathy with the views of Reverend Wright?” I suspect the percentage saying yes to this question would also be fifty-seven percent if not higher. Still, agreement and/or sympathy do not speak to the real issue which is personal judgement. Again, why does one befriend, interact with, draw inspiration from, and LISTEN TO an individual who promulgates such a racially bigoted and, quite frankly, non-Christian ideology despite the open and strong conflict with personal beliefs? Senator Obama is on record by publicly denouncing the Reverend’s many incendiary messages the “highlights” of which have packaged and sold by the Church itself. Such denunciation now suffices for his disbelief in “what” those messages were about. Again, fair enough. Still, observing what people do as opposed to hearing what they say is, by far, more telling as to exactly what it is they are thinking.
Fox since you been reproting all the negative about obama i havent watch your news yet i live in israel…and its not fair your news.
you made obama as a racist and its just not true!! why destroy a man
Oh like they’ve really been able to pole the millions of people out there - I haven’t seen the pole. I absolutely think he shares the pastor’s views or he wouldn’t have sat there for all these years and as yet he will not disassociate himself from this nut. They polled about 900 people and they are ready to drink the cool aid any day now.
This is encouraging to see. I, as an biracial American citizen, appreciated Obama’s speech. I face and hear discrimination from both sides of my family…so I understand what he said and where he is coming from.
I’m undecided about the candidates, but at least this poll shows that the country may be ready to move on and select the best candidate based on real issues!
The people of the Free and Independent States of the South and a few Northern States told the powers-that-be in 1861 not to elect a tyrant like Lincoln (only elected by electoral college but did not get majority of votes from the people) or there would be succession. They did not believe us then and they paid a high price and the people lost their rights and freedoms in the end. I would encourage those same few special interests running this country today not to make the same mistake again!
Senator Obama’s close association with this man for over 20 years will not allow me to believe that he does not share at least some of his views. Rev. Wright married he and Michelle, he baptized their children, and one of his sermons was the inspiration for Senator Obama’s book The Audacity of Hope.
Besides the fact that initially Obama lied when confonted about this. He said he has NEVER heard Rev. Wright spew the hateful anti-American rhetoric that we all saw this past week. Now, he has heard him, but he vehemently disagrees with it. Ummm….right.
If he REALLY wanted to unite this country, he would never, ever, associate with this type of individual for any reason, for this long, this closely. Instead, Sen. Obama said he is like an “Uncle”. He should have disassociated himself with this racist long ago.
Rev. Wright has every right to feel however he chooses to feel, but he needs to understand that he is only perpetuating the race problem in this country. It is not helpful, and is instead, completely divisive.
I don’t understand why it’s ok for black people to spew this type of hate, but not anyone else.
I only have one question; How could Barack Obama set and listen to the controversial rants and raves of his spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright and not share the same?
thats the reason he doesn’t want a redo in fl. and mi. if we knew more about him in rhe beginning he wouldn’t be in the lead.
I was not going to read or watch any of your news after yesterday. But I decided to just take one more look at what you had to say about Senator Obama today and I am shock that you put something nice. I mean shock. I was getting so sick of your news. The first few days were fine then it when on for over a week or so. Watching it on TV then reading it here. Wow. There is nothing wrong with reporting the good and bad on the Senators but what have you reported good lately on Senator Obama. I guess this is a start. Still I probably will not watch your news station as much as I use to. Sorry.
The Audacity of Judgment?
If I hear that Senator Obama voted against the war in Iraq one more time, describing his vote as good judgment when Senator Clinton voted for the war, I will most likely vote for Senator McCain in the general election for president if Obama is the Democratic candidate. If the war in Iraq had ended after victory was declared, Saddam Hussein was arrested and there was peace in the country of Iraq, what would be Senator Obama’s rhetoric describing his judgment?
Senator Obama’s judgment with respect to his association with his church, Reverend Wright, and Mr. Rezko, exposes Obama’s lack of judgment over the past 20 years. These are reasons I doubt his judgment to be sound to qualify him as commander-in-chief at this time.
Senator Obama needs to prove his leadership capabilities in the next 8 years to regain my trust by serving as Senator or other public offices and then run for President of the United States. In this way, he would demonstrate to the American people, providing his record is not tarnished by distasteful decisions, that he has the audacity of judgment when scrutinized by the voting public!
I’d love to know what Teddy Kennedy, and all the other Obama endorsers think about Wright’s comments, and Obama’s affiliation with his “church”.
I find this hard to believe. I don’t know what this country is coming to. I don’t understand why a person would believe that he doesn’t share these racial views when this is the second man that speaks out against our home and country that he is personnally involved with. I take this situation very seriously and most of my friends do too.
Directed, guided spiritually, but not politically.
Does he or anybody else know or understand that spiritual, moral makeup goes to the heart and soul of an individual?
Does he attend church ? Would it be safe to think that he would not be affected by Wright’s, Farrakhan’s hatred?
Has anyone noticed the added street accent when speaking in front of his church?
Electing Obama could be a very risky and troubling result for this nation and racial tensions.
After all the news about Pastor Wright and Toni Rezco and after his failure to perform for his constituents and I base that on the fact that his record of voting present on approx 45-50% of the issues, it is amazing that people are still believing that he is the CHANGE we need in Washington.
He is the same old politics we have seen in Washngton for years if not worse and what about experience being a issue.Barrack Obama has very very little.
How is he going to pay for all these things he is promising people? He hasn’t talked about that yet has he?
Obama said on the news that he has been quote “Shaken” by the Pastor Wright issues.Just wait until he starts dealing with Congress!
Where’s this poll? Leave it up a while longer on the front page so all of us can vote.
Another liberal BS poll By liberal Dana Blanton
Fox needs to dump this lib!!!!!!!
Its not very funny how people judge others so easy and are so full of hate rather than forgivness. Just think if you lived like say in the middle east and watched TV and thought Wow those Americans Have sat in the same country with Mr Bush for the last 7 years . It must be that they all think like Mr Bush does.. Or better yet when they see a guy stand in front of millions and starts to sing a song like lets say Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran… Its not Black against White but it looks like USA against ?????????????? you guys can pick the color you like. I think I found the WMD’s that Bush was looking for. Its located right inside our hearts and minds…
It goes back to the same thing as the sixties. You bigots like Shawn Hannity will not let this brilliamt, caring ,loving Black and White man get to the top because because he has some black in him.
It is disgusting to read some of the things you people say. I AM WHITE, but I understand the situation very well. You people are so closed minded and know nothing about being black or anything else for that matter.
LISTEN CAREFULLY!!! FOX NEWS AND THE CLINTONS ARE TRYING DESPERATELY TO GET HILL/BILLY NOMINATED SO SHE CAN LOSE AGAINST MC CAIN.
I guess you folks would rather have all the felonious and disgusting doings of the Clintons back in the White House?????
At least with the majority of the American people, common sense is prevailing. Those who believe otherwise certainly have the right to do so, but they never were, and never will be, Obama supporters. They simply are not willing to judge the man fairly on the basis of his own character or on his own message…which is not the message of Rev. Wright.
There have been regilious figures on the right of the political spectrum who have said some very controversial things that were not attributed to their followers…Rev. Pat Robertson and Rev. Jerry Falwell come to mind…and there have been others. Some of their more outrageous statements were criticized by both Democrats and Republicans alike, but the character or views of the members of their congregations have never been questioned for that reason…nor should it be.
It is entirely appropriate to criticize the controversial views of Rev. Wright. I disagree strongly with them. It is also appropriate to determine whether Senator Obama shares those views…either in word or in deed. What is wrong is to simply attribute the views of Rev. Wright to Senator Obama without any evidence that this is the case.
Hey White America…
Why don’t you ask Oprah Winfrey what she thinks about Pastor Wright, because she was also a member of Trinity? But you see, now we are talking about a Black person that White America actually likes…I’ve heard one “expert” over these last few days mention the fact of her church membership, but nothing else. I wonder why??????$$$$$$$
GOD save America
It appears Fox news is on a crusade to destroy Barack Obama, evident by the reporting on Hannity’s show. The hatred and bias reporting on this show is appalling. Fox news has lowered it standard and is now among the other cable news networks that do not have a fair and balance reporting.
Barack Obama may be other things but he is not racist. Please let us focus on the issues because this type of reporting is going to set us back another 20 years. I can see what is now happening no the internet since Pastor Wright’s video release. Please let us do what the forefathers and now Senator Obama is asking us to do as people for a perfect union. Rise above racial divide and focus on an economy at the brink of recession, a war that we need to be careful in getting out, a broken healthcare system and divisive politics.
Why not let racist hannity come in to all the black churches? Let him tell us how he never heard of any racist remarks before in his life. We know this is a lie because he is a racist himself and this news station. This is it for me. Maybe hillary and bill are paying him or maybe the kkk. Sorry there is news then there is news. How many of our Americans have been killed in the war today? Colmes get out!
I’m still amazed that we have that many people in this country that can’t see through this guy.
His wife has the glaze of pure hate in her eyes when she speaks of her country. His minister and mentor spews pure radical racism from the pulpit. He stands tall in Philly and delivers an
eloquent obamagram to the natiion and all is forgotten? Oh brother. It’s scary to think that there
may be enough obamuppets bouncing to the polls to put him in office.
One should never underestimate the power of Stupid Humans in Transit.
I believe in another week the polls will tell us different. What about the other half that do believe Obama is like Wright, I think it will be hard for him in the general.
Fox, fox, fox - still stirring the pot. Please don’t condemn the American people to another 4 years of Bush like mistakes in Government.
You all don’t know anything about Obama besides that he draws large crowds and his pastor gave a disturbing speech. I know old black people who are still bitter about segregation, I know old(and young) white people who throw around the n-word several times a day.
As for Obama, this guy has written very honestly in both of his books about many of his shortcomings, he admits he is not perfect, but he’s trying. I guarantee you if you read his books with an open mind, or before this recent stuff has come out, you would not think he agrees with his pastor. For him to be a liar and a fraud, as so many have alleged, his life would have to have been one huge monumental hoax. What kind of conspiracy theory are you believing?
He worked in the Chicago slums for years organizing the community, trying to eradicate drugs and violence, went to law school, was elected state senator then as Illinois senator, wrote two books, married an America-hating woman, is now running for president, just because one day he was hoping to take over America and turn us communist or something? Pretty lofty goal for a black guy named Barack Obama, to decide back in the 80s, you know, I hate this country and the way to fix it is for me to pretend to love it and get a lot of friends and a huge following, and one day, I will be president and then I will ruin us and kick all the white people out because Pastor Wright says that’s what we need to do. Yeah, that plan will succeed……surely Americans all over the country will be lining up to elect a black guy named Barack Obama. Easy enough. Now I just have to get into BS mode for the next 20 years. Hopefully no one will figure me out!”
Who’s drinking the koolaid? why don’t you all wake up and try to think for yourselves? Ask yourself, why do you think Barack Obama is running for president? You really think he’s trying to sabotage the country? How could he possibly have all this passionate support if he was full of —-?
Lets be honest people. Everyone commenting against Obama never intended on voting for him anyway. You just want to have the talk around the water cooler at work and say this is the reason I’m not voting for him knowing the real reason your not voting for him is because of his race or frankly your just scared of real change. Most of the comments on here are from Republicans, and lets be frank, Republicans don’t care about no one but themselves. As long as the government is not messing with you financially you pretty much so who cares about everyone else the government is screwing over. Bush has ruined this country but who cares we have another issue we have to deal with. We have a pastor who said something bad about white america, so we have to go after everyone associated with that chruch. Because lets be honest, people can’t think for themselve, have their point of view. Oh no someone is doing the thinking for us. Just like Wright, he brain washed everyone in the chruch, including Obama. Let’s get real people. Just because you know someone who says something you dont agree with, weather it be a friend or family member you dont disown them. Lets just be honest and really say why you dont want Obama, a black/white male, to be the president of the united states.
After what Obama said on a Philly radio show this morning about his grandmother and “typical white” people in light of his speech yesterday, I can only imagine some people will change their minds.
Jon and JOAN — Go take a statistics course
Shawn — you say you haven’t been watching the news; so how can you say Fox has not been fair?
AmericanDemocrat — I suppose this would be encouraging to see… if you were a Clinton supporter. Just reverse those stats, and you’ll see how much ground Obama has LOST.
i dont believe anything the media say, lately, they seem to be trying to smother things over for Obama we know who their trying to get in the white house.
WHERE DID THEY DO THE POLL? OUTSIDE OF REV. WRIGHT’S TRINITY CHURCH ON SUNDAY?
Come on, the majority of Americans DO NOT BELIEVE Obama escaped the influence of his pastor.
If you listen for 20 years and don’t leave the church, by your actions you say you are in agreement with the doctrine of hate and the messenger.
Let’s do another poll with a broader section of the country the results may surprise you !
Steve…
I live in Illinois. I voted for Mr. Obama in the primary and I will vote for him in the general election. The only way he will not become the Democratic candidate is if the Super Delegates take it away from him and give it to the former president’s wife with all of her “experience” gained during her 8 years, 15 years, 20 years (I don’t know what number she is claiming now because it changes everytime you hear her). Let me share something with you. You are a perfect example of whom Mr.Obama was speaking to. You don’t have a clue. You are so into what you think your view of the world is that you would never, ever even try to step into mine and maybe see what is going on in other parts of the world. All white people are not bad. I had some college roommates who were white and they were fine. But on that same college campus while walking from the grocery store, a group of white guys drove by in a car and threw a big cup of water at me in my face and sped away laughing and all I was doing was walking home from the store. I will never forget that. Why did that happen to me? Just because I am BLACK? What, I should be grateful I didn’t get hurt, so that incident was that bad? Who’s to say? Yet, I would bet any amount of money if I were a gambler, that one of those now white men are sitting around just like you not knowing what the anger is about, EVEN AFTER SOMEONE TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU! Until you come out of your own cloud, don’t you ever try to tell me or anyone else in the State of Illinois what to do in our state. I knew it was too good to be true…A Black President of “these” United States? In MY LIFETIME? Yep, the good ole’ USA can’t handle that yet…And yes, Michelle Obama knew exactly what she meant when she said she was proud of her country for the first time. They have let her down all of her life. You see, white america wants to say how dare you say anything bad about this country, yet…this country won’t even let you talk or try to explain what is wrong with it. I am so glad God is not like Americans because we would never, ever get a break!
Why is Obama against what his ‘Mentor’ said NOW?? He sat in that racist/hate filled so called Church for 20 years? If he wasn’t a racist why did he STAY there?? Get real America..He is just
saying that to get elected……He did not respect the American Flag until recently..He has
been caught in lies……
When was the last time we used the terms - “brilliant”, “Presidential”, “Intelligent”, “Bi-partisan” to the President of the United States - 8 - 10 years ago?? The conservatives are on a witch hunt and want Hillary to get the nomination so that they can somehow win the November election. McCain’s gaffes in his recent trip to Iraq are not only funny but also scary. I hope the superdelegates quickly get Hillary out of the race so that the Democrats can unite behind one candidate. Regarding this Wright speech - this is going to disappear in 30 days…
Was that 57% from the same church and Obama belongs - I’m just curious. Trying to say that all white people were like his grandmother is wrong. How about all black people are like jessie jackson or al sharpton - is that accurate. If you don’t have an answer for your actions then you try and shift the focus on something else like race. Why is Obama speaking about race now, because he does not want the people of America thinking about his judgement of continuing to attend that church while his mentor and that pastor was spewing hate and anti-American feelings that were his and not those of the majority of Americans. If you are seeking the highest position in America and are demanding that Hilary release her records from 15-20 years ago, you had better make sure your records of 15-20 years ago are clean, squeaky clean. Lastly, Obama disinvited his mentor when he announced his run for president and said his preachings get a little rough - clearly indicating he knew the content of these sermons. He knew, he said he did not know and now he says he did know but did not attend those specific sermons. He would not drop former pastor wright, knowing his anti-American feelings and he wants us to vote for him to lead America - maybe you should take another poll because America is speaking however the mainstream media is not listening. Try asking middle America, those who support the country in good times and bad who they want in the White House and they will tell you a leader, a patriot and someone with judgement and that is not Obama. I only wish Colin Powell were running because he would show the world what a leader does, why they must have judgement and he would join this country using actions instead of simply speaking words. I listened to the speech that Obama copied again and now that speech really does sound like words - only words without substance. America should ask for a refund and I know Obama will avoid the Florida and Michigan redo because he knows it is over. Too bad Hilary did not have the integrity in her past to ask about the past of Obama regarding this.
I’m praying that this will not happen, but I fear that the Democratic Convention will lead to blood in the streets coast to coast. The racial aspect of BO and HRC campaign’s that is being fueled by various news organizations will explode in August. If BO stands down tomorrow, there will be riots in the streets. If HRC somehow steals the nomination, there will be riots in the streets. Listen to all that is being stated on TV, radio and in churches. The Clinton’s are the most calculating politicians in history and they will do anything and everything possible to get the White House back. Look at the Judicial Watch web site and see what kind of crap they are pulling. Main stream media will never pick this up like they have the Wright videos. This could be considered racist also. The Clintons have so many skeletons, HRC will never be able to be a decent leader. Look what has happened to President Bush. Do you think the Republicans are going to give HRC a free pass over 4 or 8 years. I hope they don’t. So we have another period of time where nothing gets done. True leadership will cut through the crap and neither BO or HRC has the leadership qualities we need at this time. A week ago, I thought BO had some potential, but now he has none. HRC never had it in the first place. McCain is the man at the momment and I’m not thrilled at the choice. He is by far the best of the three.
I’m tired of the pandering. I’m tired of left and right wing nuts running our country. If we did not have left wing nuts, we would have $30 barrel of oil and 75 cent gas. If we did not have right wing nuts, we would not be in Iraq. We’re there now so let them kick some ass and get out. Both sides are running their mouth off with hate and it’s going to set us back years.
If this is a fact it is a sad sad fact ….That means that over half of America are just plain stupid !.
