Obama Complains That Pastor Was ‘Boiled Down’ to Sound Clips

Border

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Wednesday sought to quell concerns over anti-American remarks by his former pastor, saying people are paying too much attention to a small number of “stupid” comments.

Obama gave a sweeping speech on race last week in which he condemned incendiary remarks by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, but the words of the former pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago continue to dog the candidate. Reflecting the campaign’s concern about the fallout, Obama used a question about religion at a town hall forum as an opportunity to address the issue.

“This is somebody that was preaching three sermons at least a week for 30 years and it got boiled down … into a half-minute sound clip and just played it over and over and over again, partly because it spoke to some of the racial divisions we have in this country,” Obama told an audience in this central North Carolina city.

“There are misunderstandings on both sides,” the Illinois senator said. “We cannot solve the problems of America if every time somebody somewhere does something stupid, that everybody gets up in arms and forgets about the war in Iraq and we forget about the economy.”

On Tuesday, Obama’s rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, weighed in directly, saying: “I think that given all we have heard and seen, he would not have been my pastor.”

The controversy began earlier this month when videos of Wright’s sermons surfaced, including one in which the pastor shouts “God damn America” for its treatment of minorities.

Wright has said the U.S. government invented AIDS to destroy “people of color” and also has suggested that U.S. policies in the Middle East and elsewhere were partly responsible for the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and the Pentagon.

In the speech last week, Obama sharply condemned Wright’s remarks and the preacher’s refusal to acknowledge progress in race relations. But he refused to repudiate his longtime spiritual mentor, saying he could no more disown Wright than he could disown his white grandmother.

Wright has canceled some planned public appearances this week. Obama said Wednesday he has spoken with the pastor.

“I have talked to him. I have not asked him to do anything,” the Illinois senator told reporters.

This speech is complete bull. No one can sit under a pastor that long and not know what a racist he is. I find it laughable that Hillary says that wouldn’t be my pastor. Does she know what the inside of a church looks like.

Damning the U.S.A. is NOT a stupid comment.

It is a comment that should put a person in prison or strip him / her of citizenship and sent back to whatever country the person came from. If the person was born in the U.S.A, he / she should be put in a federal prison for life.

This is the U.S.A and damn the people that damn this great country.

I think it’s important to note that Hillary stayed with Bill over 20 years when he violated his vows, not to mention many women. BTW, I no longer watch Fox News. Used to love them until the nomination process went biased.

Comment by LeighB

There you go again, Obama. I don’t know what you saw/heard, I watched at least four segments, each at least three minutes long. Rev. Wright’s messages were clearly understandable and clearly divisive and hateful. Please withdraw.

Comment by Bill

Racial divisions? If anything Mr. Wright making the comments that he has along with Mrs. Obama remarks about the 1st time of ever being proud of American. Is this not in fact causing racil problems.
I have a bad feeling that this is going to be a long hot racial summer especially should Obama becheated out of the nomination by the Clinton Mafia. They are evil people and we all know it to be fact.
Remember the Vince Foster case?

Comment by Rob

Boiled down? People and lives have been ruined by tracing back to a single word, phrase of hate. Sometimes even walking away did not do any good. The Senator is stuck with his preacher, love hate and all.

Comment by Terry

Obama stated when asked on Larry King if he had spoken to Wright he stated NO. Then he just got back from vacation in the same area at the same time as Wright. Hummmmmm

Comment by Pat

And Don Imus’ 20 year career in radio was boiled down to a single comment.

What hypocrisy!

Comment by Andrew

I totally agree with the Senator….he has already spoken out on this issue…lets us all move on from the slash and burn and gutter politics that the clintons are so use to playing….I wonder her positive ratings are down to 37% and her negative ratings is 48% and she is the most polorizing of the three candidates based on the wall street polls.

GO Barack

You guys are the only ones still calling this a controversy. Everybody else has moved on. They must not be as fair and balanced as you are.

Of course Obama baby is complaining about the sound clips. The MSM finally stuck something to Mr. Teflon. Hillary is the only candidate with the ability to restore our standing at home and abroad. I cannot trust Obama and neither should the rest of America. I will not vote for him if he would manage to steal the election, with the aid of the MSM. Finally, Hillary weighed in on the Wright issue. Contrary to the Obamamainiacs and many of the MSM pundits this is not sinking to low tactics. That was Obama’s doings. Why shouldn’t Hillary comment on this issue? You can bet this alone has nearly eliminated Obama’s chance to win in November. Remember, he knee-capped himself with the Wright thing by “sitting in the pews for 20 years”, etc. If, and that is a big “IF”, Obama is identified as the nominee the Repulicans will immediately start a full scale assult on this issue and more of the same McCain will win in a landslide. Therefore, in my humble opinion, Hillary better do everything she can to get the nomination or we the democrats are doomed again in November. So MSM, if Sen. Obama isn’t able to get our nomination because he continues to get an all but free pass from you guys then doesn’t it behoove “US” to find that out now, before it is too late? Or do some of the good ole’ boys in the MSM, RNC, and possibly the DNC fear a female as “Commander in Chief” so badly that your willing to concede the general election to anyone, as long as it’s not Hillary? America really needs her skill and expertise. She is the best choice we have to restore our standing at home and abroad. I am far from alone in that opinion. Take a look at her position papers, plans, and solutions for America. Then, and only then, can you decide that she is right not Wright for America. You will vote Hillary once you look at the facts. I know I am. Thank you for considering America first. Finally, I knew the extremely nasty comments would start about Bosnia by the MSM. So, for my take call it spin, exaggeration, embellishing, we all do it. It’s not [W]right but, politicians particularly spin. Unfortunately for Hillary the MSM is going to seize on every opportunity to downgrade her at every turn and she should know that. Stupid thing to do but, in a man’s world, we women have to make ourselves more masculine than we are and in my mind & probably hers too, hyping of the war zone would do that for you guys. Sexism is far more prevalent in America, in my opinion, than racism and we women do what we must to survive.

QUIT CRYING –as a candidate for the highest office in this country you have NOT been honest with the American people. First Obama tells us, oh, he wasn’t in the pews when Rev Wright said God D… America, etc. Then, in a speech on race, Obama admits he has heard Rev. Wright spewing these comments. Everyone I know says that they would NOT continue to sit in a church for 20 minutes let alone 20 YEARS with this pastor spewing hate, racism, and anti-American hate rhetoric. Obama, however, found some reason to stay–and THIS is WHY we will NOT vote for you in a primary and DO NOT want you as the Democratic nominee.
Restore “dignity” to the Democratic Party before MORE of your questionable affiliations surface let alone the subject of your known Cocaine Drug Habit which MSM has not really dealt with.
STEP down Senator Obama, do it for your party, do it for America.

Comment by Offended American

A soundbite was all that it took for Sen. Obama to call for Don Imus’s firing.

The hypocrisy insults the voters’ intelligence.

Waah!! Go ahead and cry about it Obama. The only difference between you and the kkk is they don’t hide behind pathetic and obvious lies! If you are half the honest man you say you are fess up to your true feelings about “white” America! Go ahead and vote this bigot in America and we can replace the Constitution with the Black Value System. Your “former” pastor can be Secretary of State. You are nothing more than a disgrace to your Black and White heritage!

Senator Obama is right.

How much of a bigger man Senator Obama appears to be in this situation than the right wing zealots who want to continue to live in and exploit the ignorance of the past.

Maybe Senator Obama has something here.

Comment by Darian Miller

Obama excuses Wright for racist comments, therefore he promotes racism himself. Giving a true nutjob like Farakahn a lifetime achievement award, as Obama’s church did, is insane. I wonder if Obama was present to shake Farakahn’s hand at he presentation of this award?

Enough already. If it’s wrong, it’s wrong and I don’t care who you are.

Comment by Jenn Webb

I have to say that I was very proud of Obama for not ending his ties with the pastor over the inflammatory remarks he made. It would have been the easy way out to just cut ties, throw the relationship away by disowning him and simply walk away. But, Obama took the high road and stood by the man while making it clear that he did not share his views on those particular statements. Completely distancing and “throwing away” the relationship is something I am certain Hillary Clinton would have done without a second thought. It’s the easy road, but it shows no character or integrity. It takes a real person of integrity to stand by this man despite his human faults, even when you know it will be viewed negatively by many, and try to get people to understand the era that the pastor grew up in and why he has the feelings he does. The fact that Obama can understand the pastors feelings and yet not share them shows a deep understanding of the racial healing that needs to take place in this country. So, if one takes the time to really analyze the situation on the level of human caring and understanding, Obama further distinguishes himself as a person of outstanding moral character.

Comment by Obama's Toast

Obama really needs to shut his trap and move forward. He is just digging a deeper hole by supporting Wright and trying to tell us this man is almost a saint taken out of context. Pastor Wright is a racist, bigoted, Anti-White, and Anti-American preacher. The old saying goes, “It takes one to know one” The apple never falls far from the tree. Obama is too much like Pastor Wright to see any real discernible difference. Obama therefor lacks judgment and clarity on this very serious matter.

Comment by Jackie

For many years now Farrakan has been saying that he is not anti-American, racist, homophobic, or an anti-semetic his defense has always been that he is being judged by “sound bites’ I’m just wondering if perhaps Fox thinks that there may be some coordination in this arguement. I know Wright and Farrakan are close……probably just another coincidence…or maybe ya’ll are saving it for November.

Obama you know that your Preacher (if you can call him that) is a white hating bigot just like you. I don’t blame you for what he says just the fact that you sat there for 20 years listening to it. Just a few questions…
Hate mongering under the guise of a Christian Church….Is that a Christian value?

Spewing unproven untruths to the gullible…KKA, HIV, 9/11…Brainwahing at its worst and desensitizing at its best. Obama’s wife’s mouth spewed forth what…and where did it come from?

If this church is a norm is it a threat to US security?

Does “great social things for a community” absolve this anti-American venom? Does Brite Divinity School espouse Rev. Wrights views and are they training their students in these views?

Is not anti American remarks treason in war time?

Comment by quintin n. shaw

I have to say that if Obama listen to any of the speeches, or even if he was present that we should give Obama credit for putting them toward a positive solution to what is going on in this particular country. What he is doing and what he is saying does not sound like the Paster’s remarks. You have a lot of people that listen to certain other individual’s but they don’t live
that way or work that way. Some time negative remarks cause’s a person with positive thoughts to use them to there advantange.

Comment by Jason

I think this opens the door to the inner beliefs of Obama, based on comments from his pastor. No true man of God what make up these conspiracies and use his platform as a pastor to make devisive remarks about race to further divide the country. Obama’s public platform looks to be 180 degress from Mr. Wright’s comments. I think Obama’s true feelings may be subdued and actually revealed in wright’s comments. This is revealing. No one who would be president should be able to tolerate this type of divisive speach for 20 years.

Comment by Molly

GO HILLARY !!!
“Boiled Down” - the pastor tapes were from the church store - Best of Rev. Wright - it was not one comment - but - many. This church is far too radical and anti-American and will cost Obama the election. NOW there are new facts coming out thanks to FOX News about the pastor’s recent article bashing yet another American group - Obama cannot win the election with judgment and background being questionable - after 20 years he had to know the general message.
The facts on Wright just keep coming - what’s next that we do not know yet??

Comment by Willis

Has anyone listened to the sermon in it’s entirety?

Camp Hillary provided the tape to the news media!

Comment by Bea

Obama should withdraw from this race. He cannot beat McCain. Hillary has a fighting chance to do so. Good grief, why is the Democratic party shooting itself in the foot??? Obama’s pastor has put the nails in his political coffin.

Comment by Richard

July 11th 2007… Obama calls for the firing of Don Imus for saying “Nappy headed ho”… but

Obama can sit in a pew for 20 years listening to hate spewing from Uncle Rev Wright’s mouth and say nothing…

Very sad…

Comment by Elle

We did not view a compressed version of Mr.Wrights sermons but rather playbacks of numerous occasions of speeches,( which could be observed by the different articles of clothing he wore.
If he chooses to speak racially devisive and offensive to the patriotic spirit not only on one occassion that this manifests a patter of belief here and a will to spead this kind of message amongst church members. Not the typical and accepted form of church sessions that most of us are familiar with.
So how could Obama consider this boiled down ?
He heard him speak in such manner .after he denied it first and he still fails to let us know where this kind of teaching and belief system is positive to the unity of most people !

Comment by Susan

Obama was cozying up to his spiritual guide until he looked like a liability to Obama’s campaign.
Now Obama is a liability to the democratic party.

Obama -”This is somebody that was preaching three sermons at least a week for 30 years and it got boiled down … into a half-minute sound clip and just played it over and over and over again”

Bwah, Ha, Ha! This is coming from a guy who called for the firing of Don Imus based on “a half-minute sound clip… played it over and over and over again.”

The chickens have indeed come home to roost!

Comment by Michael

Obama’s pastor has spewed hatred for many years.
Don’t blame Fox for reporting the news, or accusing them of selective reporting, Pastor Wright keeps recording MANY hours of hate filled sermons, and if you are blind to that or say it is ok then I question Obamas credentials to lead all of us as president!!!

The only folks who believe Obama on this are his legion of blind followers, Obama is their personal savior and like Jim Jones in Guyana a few decades back, if he asked his followers to drink poison laced kool-aid, most would not hesitate to question him.

Problem with his planning is that most of the independents and blue collar dems who voted in primaries for him earlier won’t support him going forward. Good for Hillary and McCain.

Comment by Haley Rodham Clemson

In my 20+ years of going to church, I’ve never heard anything come out of my minister’s mouth that rivals what Wright said. In fact, my denomination forbids political discussions during services. Wright needs to focus on the love and salvation of the savior, not hate and odd racial theories.

Comment by rick

Am I the only one in America who notice the costume changes in all those clips? It’s fairly obvious that hatred is taught every weekend of the year in what is supposed to be GOD’S house. Obama’s children swallow 19th century hatred weekly, in GOD’S house. GOD’S house is for the word of GOD only, the world stay’s out of GOD’S house. TUCC is a black panther safe house that a would-be President of the USA take’s his family to weekly. That’s reality.

Hillaryous 2012 STRATEGY
Some say that I, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, should have spent Easter weekend in Chappaqua, writing my withdrawal speech and preparing for my return to the Senate. They ask why I stay in the ’08 race when Obama has an insurmountable lead in states, delegates, and popular vote. My strategy is for victory in the 2012 presidential election. I will continue to pursue several lines of attack on Obama including denouncing his experience, blaming him for the fiascos in Michigan & Florida, and even praising our Republican rival Senator John McCain as more patriotic and experienced than Obama. My goal is to do extensive damage to Obama to ensure that he looses the general election in ’08 and pave the way for my eventual election in 2012! It’s a HILLARYOUS strategy, but I will be president by any means necessary.

Comparing apple with orange … tricky Obama!

Think about it!

Obama refused to repudiate his longtime spiritual mentor, saying he could no more disown Wright than he could disown his white grandmother.

You pastor comes after you but grand mother comes before you! So you choose pastor not grand-mother … saying the two are equal is a betrayal of a grand mother and uplifting of a pastor for political advantages … want to keep black votes.

Your choice produced your pastor but your grand mother produced you … idiot!

You can disown a pastor and still you have many choices to go to but you can not disown nor choose a grand-mother.

The most sickening thing is the ignorance of the media to decode such simple tricks … instead the media is saying that Obama sharply condemned Wright’s remarks and the preacher’s refusal to acknowledge progress in race relations …. poor victims! Serving Obama.

Obama said that “I have talked to him. I have not asked him to do anything,” … do you want to believe this B.S. … you told him to cancel because you know him more than we do … you did not want to take risk on what he might say once he get to the pulpit under the current environment … it is unlikely he will appologyze to America, the American poeple, and Hillary…

Senator Obama has addressed this issue with the dignity and grace which only an indivividual who has been exposed to some of the truths of what reverent Wright has said. He has responded to the inflamtory comments with respect for those who were offended without discounting the opinions of those who might in some way agree with the reverent. We do live in a sick world but there are signs and we will be better.

People are referring to you programs as, Fixed news that is obsessed with the reverend “we now have the reverend wright cable show courtesy of fox’ for updates about this you could go to any program at night a shame, I am retired military and would love for you all to speak about foreign policy and the mess in Iraq/Afghanastan, and live up to your fair and balance slogan.

On Greta’s show yesterday Karl kept calling Dr. Wright by the name of Williams clear sign that its not that serious if he doesn’t even make a correction on the name, early sign of the all Blacks in the same boat symptom of racism otherwords know as hidden racism , and whats worse she didn’t correct him proves to me one thing sleep depriation is gettin to you all on this topic.

For generations every bible that you picked up, every religious painting that you saw, every motion picture about the Bible depicted the disciples and Jesus, as blond haired, blue eyed White people with the exception of the alledged traitor, Judas, who was allegedly dark skinned. A religious setting that debunks the stereotype that everything and everyone White is right is obviously going to be littled by White America. Fox News you are a “monster” and “typical white people” and mere distractors from real issues.

Comment by Cryston J, St. Louis

FOX, I am so disappointed in your journalistic reporting. The word is getting out that you did take Jeremiah Wright’s soundbites out of context. Because a statement is racial does not make it racist. Ambassador Peck, a white retired military officer, was the one quoted in the clip referring to “…Americas’ chickens coming home to roost”. Also, as a right-leaning minister myself, I remember the many sermons after 9/11 condemning our arrogance as a country, from wiping out the Indians for their land, to slavery, to Jim Crow, to segregation, to killing millions in war and calling it collateral damage. Thanks for not giving us context, and I was beginning to think that you were a news network and “unabiased”. Very sad.

Comment by Joseph from Philadelphia

Senator Obama wants to keep deflecting the fact he sat in Rev. Wrights church and knew about his teachings/sermons. Wouldn’t just one of these vial comments been enough, even if it was spread out over thirty years, for the senator to change churches?

Not sure I will ever understand that one and no amount of “explaining” or “deflecting” will change that

The fact he keeps bringing it up without being completely honest makes me suspect him even further. I’m not the only one who feels that way for sure. He will lose Pa. by a large margin.

A staunch democrat voting for McCain

The doctrines of that church are largely racist. They are disgusting and frankly that kind of talk goes against people of ANY skin color. As a Hispanic, I am horrified by that type of racial discussion. If Obama gets the nomination, my entire family is either not voting for president, or writing in the name of Hillary….. we won’t tolerate racism in ANY form, from people of ANY color. The comments from the pastor WERE limited in what was shown in sound clips, this is true. The doctrines of that church are unchanged, however, and Obama has been with that church for 20 years. Can’t explain your way out of that, Obama.

Funny…the media is talking up Clinton’s remembering Bosnia trip….folks are calling her a LIAR. Yet Obama just misspeaks.

1. Rezko 2nd Debate: “I only worked on ONE case as an associate attorney for Rezko…that was the extent of my relationship.”
Not lying I guess when you OMIT: 17 year relationship with Slum Lord; Buying House same time as REZKO buys property; Sending Campaign Staffer to be at Rezko trial; and not willing to throw Rezko under the bus.
2. Then when he is CAUGHT: “Rezko held ONE fundraiser and raised 50K or 60K for my State Senate Campaign.”
Not lying I guess when you OMIT: Rezko on Obama’s 2004 US Senate Finance Committee. When the 50 or 60K becomes 150K…and finally $250K. Send out the truth piecemeal so folks can accept it, I guess.
3. “I never supported or gave favors to Rezko.” OPPPSSS…then the letter shows up that Obama supported a building project “Just outside of my district as State Senator.”
Not lying I guess when he fails to mention 11 of the 22 Rezko projects were IN HIS DISTRICT! Out of the 11, only 4 are operational. The Other 8? Well…they were foreclosed on and/or boarded up. Think a State Senator might want to check on the buildings BEFORE he wrote a letter supporting Rezko? Hmmm guess not, after all, he was too busy running for US Senate.
4. “The meeting with Canadians NEVER happened.”
Not lying I guess when Monday, AFTER the AP released the notes of the meeting, Obama admits it did happen!
5. Obama shows OUTRAGE over Bill Clinton’s Remarks and BRANDS him a RACIST.
Hmm…but he does not stoop to dirty tactics….sounds like a lie to me…
6. Obama shows OUTRAGE over Ferraro’s comments and DEMANDS her resignation. Then tells everyone Clinton must not be sorry. (Oh yes…no dirty tactics here)
7. Obama’s Advisor calls Clinton a Monster…and says Obama will not follow his OWN Plan in Iraq. Then calls Clinton playing “Gutter” Politics when she Challenges him on it. (Yup…certainly he is sticking to the higher ground)
8. Tapes of Obama’s Rev. Wright come out….Obama says he NEVER heard those types of remarks in Church. Hmmm….not a lie I guess, although most of Church goin’ folk don’t believe him!
9. Obama THEN gives a speech about Race that is wonderful. As it should be, he is a brilliant Orator. But he NEVER answers the question of why he chose to stay directly…only gives a History of Oppression that many of us ALREADY know, sympathize and UNDERSTAND. (Although I personally believe my Parents are responsible for my childhood, but I AM RESPONSIBLE for myself TODAY) Then he says HE has heard offensive remarks. Guess that isn’t a lie because only two days separate the remarks….
10. “Clinton is willing to do or say anything to get elected.” Hmmm….guess Mr. Obama ISN’T?
11. “Clinton runs a very divisive campaign”. Hmmm….guess Obama DOES’T?
12. “I was raised by a single mom,” Hmmm…forgetting about your step dad? Forgetting about your Grandparents that sent you to an ELITE PRIVATE SCHOOL?
13. “Clinton is a liar and untrustworthy.” Hmmm…certainly that IS the Politics of change, and ISN’T GUTTER TACTICS!

OK….BOTH OF YOU KISS AND MAKE UP Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama You BOTH CERTAINLY COULD KILL MCCAIN TOGETHER!

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. It is what it is. Wright is a horrible person and Obama is still defending him. We do not need Obama in the White House. Senator Obama, your pastor preaches hate and ugliness — he should not be your mentor or

Obama’s still defending a black separatist, anti-American racist. Same old tune, same old double standard. He is anything but a uniter. That so-called “church” to which he is a member needs to have its 501c3 status removed. It’s nothing more than a political machine, a stewing cauldron of hate and propaganda that isn’t so very much different than those in the Middle East that spew their venom. Shame on the mainstream media for not reporting on all of this months ago - ah, but theirs is a double standared too.

Welcome to the real World, Mr. Obama!

“But he refused to repudiate his longtime spiritual mentor, saying he could no more disown Wright than he could disown his white grandmother.”

This is where you sink. Stand by your man, even if you know that he did wrong and call your granny a “typical white person”. Hillary stud by Bill during the Monica affair and after and she is haunted by that misstep until today, so get accustomed to the fact that this mentor will be a millstone around your neck.

Even though they are soundbites, it is clear as to what he was saying. Obama has had to have heard some of which Rev. Wright had to say in his sermons. I guess he is taking heat for throwing the pastor under the bus. He is in a tough spot…it may have been better for him to rely on integrity and stand up from the start. It’s just like the Michigan/Flordia situation. If he had said no from the start, even before the primaries, and stuck with it, I may agree with him, but he is a politician. He is looking for personal benefits. He is sacrificing his integrity for the sake of votes.

Leave it alone Senator before it hurts you even more. The more you try to rationalize the more cannon fodder you provide the those filthy Clntonites.

Whether it’s one clip or 10 clips this guy hates America and whites. Bottom line! It’s even scarier that most Americans don’t have a problem with this or the fact that Obama refuses to disown such a “hate Mongerer”! Our own people aren’t one bit afraid that they may be putting a terrorist or “anti white” nut in the White House. Get real - we want good things for this country and Obama isn’t the guy. I’m a Hillary fan but guys, vote Mccain if you don’t like HIllary please just don’t take a chance on a guy we know nothing about.

Who cares what Obama complains about. He doesn’t even deserved to be quoted in the news

30 years into 30sec.is the most pathetic thing he has said .he is trying desperatly to make this go away , well it is there in the american minds and it is not going away, to little to late.i dont trust dick morrises statment either, we all know he was booted out of the white house by the clintons, and he has a personal vindeta.if the topic was on something as foolish as marbles morris would manage to turn it around on the clintons, any chance he gets.

Someone please tell Mr. Obama that Mr. Wright’s comments have not been taken out of context. There is no context that makes it okay to say G D America or that America created aids to destroy people of color or his racist remarks. It is not okay to say any of those things no matter what color your skin. Mr. Wright should seek counseling for his anger and try to get over it.

the obama campaign only talks about the possibilities but the reality is that neither clinton nor obama campaigned overseas but overseas votes was acceptable but when it comes to florida obama is saying he did not campaign in florida.some supporters of like kerry, richardson, do not make me take obama serious for his comments on superdelegates.look the battle is based on electoral college rules and this proportionate confusion does not matter in november.

So math works out to be

30 x 52 x 3 = ~ 4,680 sermons

1 minute hate per sermon = 4,680 minutes = 78 hours of preaching bigotry and hate

Sufficient time to indoctrinate couple generations with hate and racism

We are not accounting for sermons given as guest speaker, writings and Trumphet.

Who cares, Obama didn’t hear thing or know anything about it. That is all what matters.

Hillary please drop out so McCain can beat the crap out of this guy in GE.

Obama’s retort to the revealing of his pastor’s ranting is just another indication of his lack of depth and judgement. Because Wright didn’t say those things all the time Obama believes they aren’t that important nor do they reveal what Wright is all about. As a retired pastor I wonder if I had stood in a pulpit and used the “N” word just once in my 33 years of preaching what the reaction would have been. The truth about anyone’s convictions is not determined by the number of times he or she speaks about it. It is obvious that Wright believes what he said or he would not have said it in the first place.

I don’t understand why the media can not determine exactly how often the pastor made such remarks during his sermons. I tend to believe Senator Obama when he says that this was not a usual sermon and that these types of remarks were not a common thing. I think the media has beaten this issue to death and it is time to put it aside. If it continues, I will be forced to vote for Obama in the general election. I am a staunch Republican, white and highly educated but this Obama bashing has gone too far. When I hear it on the news, I turn to another channel. I suggest that the public do the same.

Obama is no longer a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is a wolf in a suit. It is too late for Obama to denounce his beliefs. They are being exclaimed by those who support him, like this ridiculous excuse for a man of God. Neither man is worthy of any respect or admiration.

Is this what you want running our country? If it is, there is something wrong with your perception of the United States of America.

God help us individually and as a country if we allow this man to go any further politically than he has already.

If he wins, we are undone.

I believe it was Obama that made the statement saying JUST WORDS meaning words do matter
QUOTE (dont tell me words don’t matter I HAVE A DREAM just words, all men are created equal just words,we have nothing to fear but fear its self just words don’t tell me words don’t matter words do matter) end quote that was from one of Obama’s speeches on February 19 2008 now weather it was from a 60 sec sound bite like his pastor or not Obama says words do matter. I guess they don’t when they are negative towards him he is flip flopping to suit his needs and the American people should look at that speech and use it like Obama said WORDS DO MATTER

He still has not addressed the racist manifesto of his church - the “Black Values” system. The media has completely ignored it giving him another free pass. If you inserted the word “white” for “black” throughout the document the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center would have it listed at the top of the “hate” list.

Obama just can’t let this issue go. He keeps trying to defend his pastor, if he keeps this up, Hillary won’t have to steal the nomination. Obama distanced himself from the “rev.”, but now everytime he opens his mouth, he manages to justify what his pastor said. It was only a few sound clips. Obama needs to have the courage to say I stand by what “rev” Wright said, because everyday it seems there is another story where he is defending him in one way or another.

2 Two out of 8 Thousand from the rest of 300 Million Americans:

You are an amazing man, Senator Obama. FoxNews reported you as having said “people are paying too much attention to a small number of “stupid” comments.” You and your pastors are the “half-minute sound clips” Senator. The rest of us 300 million are getting on with our daily lives. We are tired of you and your “8 000 sound clips.”
Many others have commented on Iraq. You must read these Comments and you will learn something.
Then you mention the economy. Really Senator, President Bush has just stepped in [he is still your President, young man, try show some respect] to support the Financial Institutions who in their turn will support the ordinary Voter in the current housing situation. It is a worldwide problem at present, for some time actually, but you and your rich Pastors wouldn’t know that, too much money chasing two many irresponsible spenders, but The Bush Administration is dealing with it. …. Of Course, we realize you spoke on the stump in North Carolina where you have to win after Senator Clinton wipes the floor with you in Penn.
But Please Senator, you are not fooling so many anymore, your “sound clip” support has been dwindling way we see it, you fooled many at first, but your ratings are coming down; it never was just a “small number of “stupid” comments”, Son, and it has grown into a deluge now. Come read all the Comments, see for yourself.
Not Please, Senator, merely try show some respect for America and stop stirring in the racial pot every opportunity you get, or manufacture, when you land in a fix. You are done, Good Bye to You, Sir.
Maybe a little small advice: Get out before Denver; go home and start preparing for your Senate fight in 2010 if you care to accept advice from an old fellow. I want maybe, lay a bet: you will not be elected unopposed next time. Maybe, I am only guessing, particularly if you continue in the present race, maybe in any event, they just, maybe kick your ass out the Senate too.

The speeches Obama is doing now, are more for sticking up for Wright than rejecting what he said. I would not allow my children around a person like that for fear of raising them to be biased. Michelle and Barrack should have been better parents to protect their children from nonsense like this. Their children, like my children are our future and you have to protect them as long as you can from the crazy people in the world. Wright is an evil man that has been put on a pedastile and worshiped to like a false god. Black people are doing just as good as the white people. Some have it good, some are in the middle and some are not doing so good - white or black. I am so tired of hearing about the poor black people, what about the poor white people? My fear with Obama is uniting the black up against the white when we have been doing so good with each other. My final word, Obama needs to get over the fact that his pastor is a crazy man who needs to be put away so as not to poison young children who grow up to be adults with imbreaded bias - parents you should be ashamed of yourself.

Word to Obama………. Change churches, then start hitting Clinton on her tax returns, Whitewater, Foster, etc. Your guilt by association to the church will fall on deaf ears unless you give it up. The Elders need to make a decision.

Sorry, no excuse for the Rev. Wright. He said hateful things and nothing Obama says will change that. Obama sat there listening to him with his wife for twenty years and also with his children.
I will not vote for Obama. I’m for Hillary. Just because he gives a good speech doesn’t mean he will make a good President. He is much too inexperienced and while I was listening to him and trying to give him a chance the Rev Wright ruined it all…and also he doesn’t wear a flag pin and doesn’t put his hand over his heart to the plede of allegiance. Something is not right here.
