Top Clinton Supporters Warn Pelosi Over Superdelegate Statements

Border

WASHINGTON — Twenty top Democratic donors who are supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a letter asking her to retract her comments on superdelegates and stay out of the Democratic fight over their role in the presidential race.

In their letter, Clinton’s supporters said superdelegates “must look to not one criterion but to the full panoply of factors that will help them assess who will be the party’s strongest nominee in the general election.”

The letter also noted the donors “have been strong supporters” of the House Democrats’ fundraising arm. “We therefore urge you to clarify your position on superdelegates and reflect in your comments a more open view to the optional independent actions of each of the delegates at the national convention in August.”

Pelosi, who has not endorsed either candidate as chair of the Democratic National Convention, said during a March 16 appearance on ABC’s “This Week” that it would be harmful to the party if superdelegates don’t support the pledged delegate winner.

“This is an untenable position that runs counter to the party’s intent in establishing superdelegates in 1984,” the letter from the wealthy Clinton backers said.

No matter what the outcome of the 10 remaining contests, it will be nearly impossible for Clinton to overcome rival Barack Obama’s lead in pledged delegates, because they are awarded proportionally based on the outcome.

So it will be up to the nearly 800 superdelegates — party activists and elected officials who aren’t bound by any vote — to put one of the two candidates over the mark of 2,024 delegates needed to win the nomination. Obama has 1,406 pledged delegates to Clinton’s 1,249, according to The Associated Press count.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said, “This letter is inappropriate and we hope the Clinton campaign will reject the insinuation contained in it.”

“Regardless of the outcome of the nomination fight, Senator Obama will continue to urge his supporters to assist Speaker Pelosi in her efforts to maintain and build a working majority in the House of Representatives,” Burton said.

Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said Clinton had made the case superdelegates should exercise independent judgment about who would be the best for the party and the country.

“Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton. The last thing they need is a lecture from the Obama campaign,” he said.

The letter was first reported by the political blog Talking Points Memo.

The Associated Press and Reuters contributed to this report.

Pelosi and other Obama supporters have consistently tried to change the rules in the middle of the game to have superdelegates do the opposite of what they are supposed to do which is to help avoid scandals like Rev. Wright in a general election.

Pelosi should stay the h*ll out of it! She is going against the party doctrine on the topic of what a superdelegate was set up to do in these cases. I’ve seen the party rules on this subject and she was clearly in violation as a (supposed) lead member in party to say otherwise to the media! It clearly speaks to her judgement which I find to be very lacking since she got the job as House Speaker. God, I wished they’d have chosen Steny Hoyer!

And after, she has been through this before and got caught up in a big mess, years ago, over superdelegates having to chose a Presidential candidate! AND FOR THE RECORD, LOOK HOW THAT TURNED OUT! LOL

Ahhh…so the “Back-Room” dealing of yesterday is still alive and well in the “Democratic” Party. The Will of the “Democratic” People means nothing to the Party Big Wigs — never has, never will.

“The donors “have been strong supporters” of the House Democrats’ fundraising arm” comment speaks for itself — Tow the line Rep. Pelosi or you will be Ms Pelosi — post-haste.

A shame really…the Party that presents itself as the “Party of the People” is instead the Party of the “Fat Cats” who sit in back rooms making deals. Hopefully the Clintons still don’t hold the so-called “Democratic” party’s reigns — if they do then it doesn’t matter where the Donkey (read the “People” - and nothing bad meant by Donkey, ok? :) ) wants to go, the Head will be led where the Clintons want to go — The White House.

I’ll be honest…I disagree with Senator Obama on many points, but the Clinton’s should not be allowed to steal the election. If Mr Obama (or Ms Clinton for that matter) have the most pledged delegates (ie: The Will of the “Democratic” People — more or less…I personally don’t like delegates or the Electoral College — let the Majority of the People choose, no matter where the cards fall…) then they should be the Democratic Nominee, plain and simple. Then on to the General Election (With all the mud-slinging that will come with it…)

Anyway…that’s my 2-cents worth.

Fred…

Pelosi is absolutely correct in her assertion that the leader in pledged delegates should not be overturned by superdelegates. Anyone who cant understand how devestating that would be to the Democratic Party is not thinking soundly. And if it wasnt justified for Al Gore to win the presidency based on a popular vote, then Hillary should not be able to either. That said, HIllary’s chances of winning the popular vote are also close to zero.

The system has flaws in it, no daubt. But you cant justify changes the rules in the middle of an election. Hillary’s iron grip on the hope that the superdelegates will overturn an Obama victory says a lot about her character. She views herself as an exception to the need for fairness and the greater good of the Democratic Party. Bottem line: she feels entitled to the presidency.

Nobody is entitled to that. It must be earned and won, on merits (not dirty campaign tactics or favors from people connections inherited from Bill Clinton’s presidency.)

Comment by Maggie

This is exactly what the supporters should have done. It was long overdue. Nancy overstepped her bounds by using scare tactics on the superdelegates and, in the process, stirring up trouble in the electorate. This kind of talk will make them ready to fight if their candidate loses the nomination. Nancy knows better. It is clear that she supports Obama. Perhaps she likes holding the highest position in government that any woman ever has, and doesn’t want to lose that distinction to Hillary. Women are funny that way!

At this point the Clinton camp is grabbing at straws. Their behavior regarding this matter is appalling. That is why I would never vote for her because of her past and present actions. She will do whatever it takes to obtain power. She is FAKE!

Comment by Michael

Once again the Clinton campaign and its supporters
trying to force, manipulate and coerce the vote
in their favor. Guess what I don’t think the
Speaker of the House Of Represntatives is intimidated.
Speaker Pelosi is doing the right thing by standing
up for the democratic values of our country.
Super delegates please respond to this great offense
by the Clinton campaign by committing yourself to
the best candidate of the Democratic party and nation -
Senator Obama…

Comment by D in New Mexico

Nancy Pelosi should have maintained a ‘neutral’ stance in this battle for the good of the party. She is not-so-subtly endorsing Obama, and THAT is unconscionable. She will potentially have to work with whomever the candidate is, and shouldn’t be flapping her gums about it. The rules are in place the way they are for a reason, and the superdelegates should vote with the party ideals in mind - and what is best for the American people. The republicans WANT Obama to get the nomination, because they know they can beat him. Every single Hillary supporter I know - lifelong and dependable voting Democrats all - will be denouncing their Democratic Party membership and either voting write-in for Hillary or not voting for President at all if Obama is nominated. The party has strayed from moderation into full crazy left-wing nonsense if he is the candidate, and that is not what the party USED to be about. I would personally like to see a third party arise, one for moderates… because both the reps and the dems have gone full-force into dangerous extremeism.

This letter sounds threatening to me. Speaker Pelosi has every right to express her opinion regarding this issue without pressure from one side or another.

Comment by chuck

Bill and Hill will do anything to get Hilliary elected. Can you imagine the talks and smoozing going on to get the superdelegates to cast their votes for her. They just can’t accept defeat.

Comment by cdeanclarke

Pelosi would be well advised to shut her gargantuan trap more often.

Comment by leche

One thing is clear Hillary want to rig the nomination just like we do in zimbabue.

Guess we know where Clintons support comes from! Rich fatcats saying “don’t oppose Hillary or our money evaporates”. This is really the Clintons at their best! Their is no way for us to win now accept threats from our fat cat doners if you don’t do the right thing. This is politics at thier ugliest just the way Billary loves it. Keep sucking up to big money and special interests Hillary maybe their threats will pay off for the superdelegates you pathetic train wreck!

Interesting quote…

“Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton. The last thing they need is a lecture from the Obama campaign,” he said.

it could actually be said that few have done more to destroy America than Bill and Hillary Clinton, and both would be equally true…

I love it when the Clintons try to use mafia tatics and strong arming.
Pelosi better be careful, People who against the Clintons in the past

Be very careful

They should butt out and Pelosi should too, let the process will out. Is it even legal to send a letter like that ??

Comment by SToopID Dede

hehehe =)

that is what you get…come up with a totally anti-democratic system and look what happens… you get the ELITE Aristocracy telling the elected officials to but out or face financial support being withdrawn…(basically saying…do what we tell you or you don’t get the money you need to get reelected….) what a bunch of losers….maybe they should just get it over with and change the name of the Democratic party to the People’s Socialist Party of America…after all …they think all the “normal” people out here are too stupid to understand the complexity of the nomination process….yeah..we get it…the guy/gal that gets the most votes should be the nominee…no super idiots needed to decide that…pretty basic…the Greeks started that 2500 years ago…Romans figure it out too….even the Europeans figured it out before becoming mainly socialistic….

I have to say that the Party is always first is it not?
The division in America is due to the out and out fighting that has gone on between our two Parties for along time now. Whether we choose to beleive the old saying(s) or not. United we stand divided we fall”. Still holds true. Oh and I do mean our country not our parties. They have lost thier way really badly, the way you are leading us down ………In the name of holding to power. It is a disgrace for both sides of the political arena. And it is showing even within just the Democratic side.

Comment by Brad

Nancy Pelosi should tell the authors of that letter where they can go. They are simply trying to intimidate her into letting them steal the nomination for Hillary Clinton after the Clinton campaign failed to win it fairly and according to the rules that Hillary agreed to.

Comment by jfz

I’m not a Hillary donor…Does that mean my vote won’t count?

“Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton.” … well: I guess that depends on what the definition of “build” is. Right, Bill?

Keep it going Clinton, we love it.

Nancy Pelosi does not speak for those of us who believe in true democracy. Superdeligates have the right to vote for whomever they wish, regardless of the confusion of the masses, thank God! This is especially true after the Wright revelations and Obama’s secret agenda. Wake up true Democrats! I have. Vote for a known, not an unknown who preaches “change”… Whatever he means by that!

It is easy to smell a “fix” unless you apply liberal logic. Then it is not a fix. At this point it looks like there will be blood running down the isles at the D. convention.

Comment by Fugonn

Super-delegates, what a great example of a democracy! A Super-Democracy because the average American democrat should have their voices heard, but if they get it wrong, the Supers can fix it.

Seems to me that few have done more than to tear apart the Democratic party, Hillary…
Shame on the “wealthy donors” for trying to buy their way to the nomination.

They should not call themselves the Democratic Party. They do not believe in democracy. They believe in control from the top down. These people are more totalitarians than pro-demcracy.

The Clintons want to win this by hook or by crook. They should admit defeat and get out.

when it comes to wanting people to see things her way she does and says anything to get what she wants. one day she wants things one way but when she is pushed on the issues she retracts or changes her statments to say something else.. lets face it Hillary Clinton is nothing more than a liar and a cheat who will try to win this election at all costs. even knowing that the people of the united states dont want her as president, apparently isnt enough, first she trys to go after fla and wisconsins votes knowing full well that they were disqualified because they refused to follow the guidlines set for each state (why put the rules in place if u dont intend on following them) and now she wants to at the most try to threaten others who speak against her. then theres the issue of her “misspeaking the other day when she spoke of her trip under sniper fire, that was proven wrong as well.. followed by the issue of the college student asking her daughter chelsea about monica lewinsky… as i see it as a voter and tax payer YES it is his business and mine and everyone elses to know how she reacted or dealt with the situation. As i heard someone say earlier, if she cant control and manage her own home how does she expect to run this country. I’m voting for Obama, he may have less experiance but id trust him before i trusted her.

Comment by Jennifer Kilpatrick

I want the names of these 20 rich guys, the names of their companies, and the city and states where these guys live. I will make sure I never buy anything from their companies.

I have always disliked Hillary Clinton, because I feared she would be a puppet of rich Democrats with special interests. These 20 guys threatening Nancy Pelosi prove my fears correct.

Hillary Clinton does not deserve to be the first woman President. Nancy Pelosi for President in 2016!

Comment by Mac

Another fine example of Hillary and her supporters upholding the First Amendment right to free speech. It truly is amazing how ‘inconvenient’ it is for the will of the people, through their votes, to decide who are our elected leaders in lieu of their coronation of Hillary the 1st.

Comment by Jackie

Are you kidding me?! The audacity of the Clintons is astounding and those 20 top RICH Democrats ought to be ashamed of themselves. Why is it that the nation has one set of rules for fair play and the Clintons have another set of rules - ones that they write for themselves that only they have to follow and whoever they say to follow them. This Democratic party is becoming a joke. She talks about voters being disenfranchised - what about the millions of people who voted according to party and state and national rules that she herself agreed to before January - when OF COURSE she thought she was going to be the lanslide winner of the nomination - and now ONLY because she needs to rules to change she’s touting revotes and pledged delegates don’t have to vote according to the will of the people, the MILLIONS of people who played fair? WHat the hell kind of president would she make… I say a lying, cheating, rude, manipulative, out for herself not our country, kind of president. Anyone who votes for her I’d have to doubt their sanity.
I am married to a blue collar union steel worker in a midwestern town outside of St. Louis, a 49 year old white woman and I will add that I actually don’t think any of the 3 candidates are worth a hoot and I am leanly towards not even voting for the first time. In my voting experience I have voted previously for Republican and Demorcractic presidents beginning with my first one - Jimmy Carter so I don’t think I vote along party lines but with the person and what I feel they can do for our country. Hillary I think would be a HORRIBLE president. Just HORRIBLE!!! She’s LIAR.

Finally. Pelosi is bending the rule in the middle of the game. Why have the superdelegates,uh, Pelosi! Nancy kiss your political career goodbye. Thank god I have a vote to your rival, I live in LA.

Comment by John

Hillary is a crook. She and Bill want to win at any cost. She lost this one. We need to support Pelosi or whomever will keep the election with the general population. Do you really think she would say this if the roles were reversed? Of course not! She would say “The people spoke and no one has a right to override their election.”

Hillary will do anything to win! She will DO ANYTHING TO WIN. Hillary is a threat to our country. She LIES about the snipers; come on, would anyone really make a mistake about the time someone was shooting at them? Of course not.

Please, let’s stop the lies and the divides Hillary brings to us. Support the WINNER, in this case, it is not Hillary.

Comment by Joe from Ohio

The last sentences in the article ““Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton. The last thing they need is a lecture from the Obama campaign,” he said.” says it all.

The problem is that Bill Clinton is not running for President, his wife is. Would you let the wife of an airline pilot take over the controls of a 737 mid-flight? Would you let your physician’s wife perform surgery on you? The analogy is clear. Hillary does not have the experience to be our country’s leader. She has done nothing of substance during her husband’s terms in office or her terms in NY.

The type of battle taking place in the Democratic Party is great for John McCain. I beg these fools to please keep it up so that we can rest assured that come November, the Republicans will retain the Presidency.

Comment by KD

What the people want is what they voted for. If there were to be no election, then the party could right away send someone like Mrs. Clinton to represent the democrats in the general election. We all know the fact that, the Clintons have done a lot to the party. But they should remember that the party does not belong to them. The party have rules and regulations to follow.
The Clintons should let us know what do they want from the white house, a place they have been before. What else do they need again.

Obama staff needs to mind their own business. At least these people are out in the open and Obama’s staff works like snakes in the grass. He has them do all his dirty work while he tries to appear to be clean. We got your number Obama, if you want to save the Democratic party, you will get out of the race. You’re great on spouting what the polls say, well, the polls show that 25+% of Hillary supporters will NOT vote for Obama if he is the nominee. Without them, he will not win the General Election. It’s time for him to step down and let someone who knows what they are doing to get on with business.

Comment by Bluewatersailor

Put a less diplomatic way…”Speaker Pelosi, shut your pie hole”! This train wreck is like the gift that keeps on giving!

Comment by Lynn

Just when you think you have seen everything, the Clinton campaign reaches into the barrel for a new low. Who and what are these people that they have the gaul to tell the speaker of the house what she should as an opinion. This woman MAY wind up with the nomination but will likely have little or no respect in the eyes of the public when she gets thru twisting things to serve her ends.

Comment by Fred Bledsoe

If Barack is the winner of the popular vote, even if not enough to put him over 2,024, then he should get the superdelegates. By the same token, then Hillary should get them. Either way the people should be the deciders. Wasn’t this the problem for Al Gore in the 2000 election.

Most people are mind numbed robots they won’t vote for a third party candidate. This election the Democrats (liberals) are the winners because McCain is a Democrat in Republican clothing.

Not even the great Rush Limbaugh will go against the Republicans because he too, a mind numbed robot, is told and believes, not voting either Democrat or Republican is throwing your vote away. I hope more people will search out other party candidates, stop believing what the media says, keep democracy alive, and start voting for the candidate who may really be THE BEST for America.

Comment by Bill

Go Hillary. Pelosi does’t know what she is talking about. Pelosi is biased. Obama has simple ignored Fl and MI and Pelosi needs to learn that ever vote and ever voice counts.

I hope that everyone knows that if the Superdelegates go to the dark side (Hillary) ignoring the voting public, the Black’s in this country will riot and burn America to the ground.

Comment by mark new york city

To me none of these delegates belong as a candidate for the presidency, since none of them have told the truth to the American public. there so typical of what the American people have let these 2 party’s have shoved on us I think all the house and senate should be out and vote in people that can get things done that are not party fools

Comment by tapjms

Maybe Nancy Pelosi thinks someones cares what she thinks. I not only think she should keep her nose out of the democratic party selection process, I think she should learn manners. She is a very rude woman.

Comment by Lee Bartholomew

On that same token, few have been able to tear the democrat party apart like Bill and Hillary have done.

Comment by Shirley

Up until I read this article I was hoping for a fair contest between the two candidates. However I do not believe it will be anymore because this statement that was made tells the story of this campaign. “Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton. The last thing they need is a lecture from the Obama campaign.” I have been a Democrat all of my life and will continue to support the Democratic Party. It was just in the last 30 days I made a choice on a candidate to support. I believe we have a Democratic Committee who is suppose to help work thru this or am I wrong. I am going to use a sports analogy to make a point using the same statement above and insert a team’s name in it and see if you understand why I making this point.

Few have done more to build the National Football League than the NE Patriots in recent years. The last thing they need is a lecture from the NY Giants fans on who will win the Superbowl.

We all know this is a very close race, please allow Speaker Pelosi and the Democratic Committee to work with the superdelegates to make a decision on how to resolve this.
We need to work together because if we do not we will lose the election to the Republicans again.

Thanks!

I think Pelosi has the right to freedom of speech without intimidation thrown in because she won’t buckle under.

The Clinton campaign is hell bent on winning or destroying the Democratic parties chances at the Presidency is they don’t win.

Is this really what the American public wants out of the potential leader of the free world?

Camp Obama is doing anything they can to win, even if it means that they have to kill revotes in Florida and Michigan.

Message to Camp Obama “Hello, you could win there as well as Hillary! Ever thought about that? Killing the revote will lose you the states in November. Ever thought about that?”

Clinton is trying to keep all options open.

Lets all hope that we can vote Nancy Pelosi out of office. She is a complete idiot and Howard Dean is equally incompetent. I’m not a big fan of Pelosi, however, DEMOCRATIC means she is entitled to her opinion without the Clinton thugs strongarming her. If she retracts that is exactly what will have happened. If the HC thugs believe in democracy then let Pelosi have her opinion. She has that right

Comment by Bleuceruleum

I read the full letter elsewhere and it sounded like a threat or ultimatum. Retract your comments or we retract our funding. What happened to everyone being allowed their opinion? And letting the voters decide? I’d admire Mrs. Clinton a little -presently I don’t admire her at all - if she would just admit she’s done a complete about-face since she complained after Al Gore lost though he won more popular votes. and isn’t it time we stopped blaming Obama for Florida and Michigan and placed the blame where it should go: to those people who moved their primaries up? Why have Rules if you’re going to break them? Why bother?

But she’ll get her way. I can see her ten years from now saying, “I begged my delegates not to write that nasty letter but they bound and gagged me to a chair. After chewing the wooden arm off and using karate on four of them, I managed to find my pistol and…”

Comment by Isobe

I think that it is obviously stupid for the Clintonians to think that hi-jacking the nomination process is the best thing to do.

The fact is democrats need to understand simple scenario: the guy who studies hard to take a test to pass and the guy who sits and relies on his contact with the professor to pass the test. This kind of stuff at any school will be considered academy fraud. Why the clitonians want this kind of integrity underminding? I am sick of them.

Hilary is still young. She’s not like John’s age. Let her wait for the next race for God sake.

Of course they’re upset. They’ve given her a lot of money. If she doesn’t even win the nomination, it’s wasted. Large donors are expecting something in return, even if it’s just a night in the Lincoln bedroom. It’s an unveiled threat that they will not contribute to the general election if she is not the nominee.

Comment by Jon Michael

The Clintons are despicable - this amounts to blackmail. Pelosi cannot engage in any thoughts that go against the Clintons because they control the funders of the Democratic Party. They have done so much for the Democratic Party - give me a break. Look what Clinton did to Gore! The Clintons are interested in the Clintons - not the Democratic Party. On another matter - I cannot believe that so many Republicans have voted for Clinton in the primaries - surely this is moral corruption.

Why do the rich think they run this country? That is the main reason Hillary will lose!

Once again, the Clinton’s are trying their well known and documented bullying tactics to make it clear that they are entitled to continue their dynasty. One can only hope that Senators O’Bama and Pelosi will make it “verbally” clear that they will not be intimidated by these thug tactics. This was tried by the big whig Democrats against Senator Joe Lieberman. How well did that work for ya, slick Willy and Hilly?

At the moment,im not sure who is the best candidate, but i do believe that the superdelegates should vote according on who they think will do the best job. If it was a landslide then it wouldnt be a question, but with Obamas poor judgement and lies about Wright and taking advice, spiritually and politically, i dont think at this moment he is who we want in the White House, and knowing all of this, i would be very cautious about anyone leaning towards him and thinking the Democrates could win in November. I have been on the border most of the primaries, but im not at all impressed with Obama in the least. So i agree, this Pelosi women ought to stay out of it and not make such hipocracy comments about a race that is so close and has gotten even closer now that Obama is dropping in popularity and the polls.

Threats, insinuations and self victimization–that is the Clinton style–especially through “uncontollable supporters.” Hence, the Clintons (said because they are one) have their precious reasonable deniability. If the Obama supporters pulled the same thing, Hillary would be on CNN screaming that the political speech was being silenced with a “Jeremiah Wright” style indignation.
In addition, Phil Singer needs a memory sandwich. The Clintons, in 1994, managed to do what the Republicans had been unable to do since 1946–seat a Republican majority in both houses of Congress! They (for they are one) did more to destroy the Democractic Party than anyone in half a century or more. Chris Matthews (former aid to Tip O’Neal) put it well when he stated that if you believe that the Clintons are in it for anyone but the Clintons, you are kidding yourself.
But I keep watching the Clintons for the same reason people watched the Anna Nicole Smith Show, to watch a train wreck.

“Few have done more to build the Democratic Party than Bill and Hillary Clinton”……

I say no two individuals have done more to bring the Democratic Party down to it’s lowest level in ages! What have they done???? All I can think of is Whitewater, Sex-capades in the Whitehouse, lies, deceit, mudslinging….etc. I am not saying that Obama is the right choice either. His ties with the Pastor of his church have brought his popularity way down. But compare the two (Obama and Clinton). Which is the lesser of two evils. “Billary” needs to accept defeat and step aside and endorse Obama.

Once again, the Clinton machine is clawing away at someone who says something that’s not to their benefit. When are they going to realize that not everyone is going to roll over and die for them?

Watching Hillary speak brought back the realization of how gifted she and the former President Clinton really are at evading the topic of the questions. Every question asked by interviewers ellicts a totally unrelated response. They must really believe we are stupid I guess. McCain is looking better and better. At least he answers the question asked.

Nancy Pelosi, who is in this position because many of us flocked to the polls and believed in her CHANGE…… may as well be in a wax museum. That describes the effect she has had on the Democratic Party, the resolution process and the entire nation as a whole.
I am bored and weakened with this race.
I will vote for Mickey Mouse in November if he is on the REPUBLICAN ticket.
The Democratic Party can fade away or divide itself over and over, but I am OUTTA HERE!!!
(?)President(?) Obama???
I don’t think so.

I am not…believeing this.. how can you dems let your party DICTATE (a word derived from dictator or vice versa) a decision against the will of the voters??? If all of you vote for a certain candidate, you (we the people-remember) have spoken. YOu have made your voice known by majority- and now your going to let these SUPERDELEGATES make your decision for you-when you start letting the government override your constitutionally given RIGHT- you are heading down a very dangerous path. Ya’ll better speak up! Remember this, It wouln’t have taken 2,025 delegates to make your nominee before 1984 when you guys started this SUPERDELEGATE BUSINESS! YOu guys had a number and a majority to reach and it wasn’t 2,025. Why can’t you see that your party is trying to wrestle control away from the people, this is America don’t allow them to take away your right to vote-all the votes should count- even michigan and florida- even though no one thought they were important when they signed that agreement to not let them count- thats because the Dems believe they as the party leaders get to mandate what happens to your (the people’s) vote.
GLAD TO BE A REPUBLICAN IN ALABAMA

Nothing like trying to strong-arm the election with blackmail. The arrogance of the Clintons is amazing. These people were probably promised big paybacks for their bucks and they are getting a little worried. I would not be surprised if the PA govenor was promised something big too. All I know is if she is the nominee I think I will vote for Nader.

so, they ARE the Democratic party? King Bill and Queen Hillary due to move back into the palace? The King and Queen of lies and therefore representing the values of the Democratic party? Definitely a reason to vote Republican if that is the only other choice we have!

First the Obama camp said that the super delagates should vote for the candidate that rec’d the popular vote in their state. Now that the largest states went for Clinton they now want who has the most delegates. Any way they can turn it around to their advantage.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and DNC chairman Howard Dean are going to give the White House to the Republicans if they persist in Backing Obama. No Dem I have spoken to will vote for Obama in light of his 20 year relationship with his mentor and pastor, the irreverent racist, Jeremiah Wright. We will most definitely vote for McCain if Clinton is not the nominee. At least McCain loves his country and ALL the people in it!

Pelosi better watch her back. History proves that the Clintons find a way to make you disappear.
