I show no pity for Flordia or Michigan they flaunted and snub their noses to DNC Rules and thought they would get away with doing this in the long run. Maybe you Clinton die-hards will realize this after Sen. Obama has won the nomination. Don't vote or better yet vote for Johnny Mac. The Clinton's are a nasty wound to our souls and have been for their terrible lies and whinning over the years.

Nancy Pelosi's argument basically states that Sen. Kennedy and John Kerry and Gov. Richardson and others in states that Hillary won should now vote for Hillary instead of Obama because she won their states and thats the will of the people in their states.
We all know that is not going to happen which is precisely why Hillary wants it to stay the way it has been for years. Superdelegates get their own independent vote.
It just so happens this year their votes will most likely decide the nominee. If Obama supporters want to complain about something they should be complaining about the proportionate distribution system that we have for awarding delegates because if it was winner take all this battle would have been over already.
Oh wait...Hillary would have won then so we cant argue for that.
It's interesting how in the republican party no one cared that Mike Huckabee remained in the race to the very end.
Oh wait...probably because he had no mathematical chance of winning the nomination. There werent even enough delegates left for him to catch up.
Yet we all want Hillary to just give up and quit and are all yelling at her for staying in the race.
Hmmm....could it be because she actually has a chance to win this.
I never knew how many quitters we had in the democratic party leadership...they are all being exposed which is a good thing.
Comments like Hillary would have an excellent career in the Senate as if to say dont bother for the White House you wont make it?
In the last 40- 50 years who was the last 2 term Democratic Party president?
That's right it was a Clinton, and we haven't been in the White House since. These defeatist attitudes going around right now forcing a candidate out who can make our party win, make me sick to be a democrat.
My nominee will not be a person who is friendly with a racist pastor, who accepts this racist pastor as family, whose pastor talks down on white people as rich racists yet builds an expensive house while many poor black people go homeless.
A nominee who claims he is for all people but gives less than 1% of his wealth to charity only increasing it when he runs for president. Oh wait his largest donation $27,500 went to his racist pastor's church. Money well given.
A nominee who lies about his own family and belittles his own grandmother on national tv.
To the democratic party I say a vote for Obama in July or August will be a no vote for me in November.

With respect to Jenna, first off, let me say that I think the Democratic party's original idea to strip those states that did NOT follow party rules off all of their delegates. I think the Republican party chose a fairer punishment: delegate totals cut in half so that voters would still have a say.

However, it is wrong to say Hillary won Michigan and and Florida "fair and square." Please recall that the Democratic party rules, to which both Hillary and Obama agreed to abide by, were for Democratic candidate not to campaign there and not to put their names on the ballot because those states did not play by the rules. Since Obama was not on the ballots in those states, AND because voters knew they didn't count, turnout was very low, particularly when compared to the national registration surge. Hillary Clinton broke her own word and party rules and did NOT win anything aside from the ire of Democratic party leaders.

Hillary Clinton needs to do the math and bow out of the race she cannot win either in the at the convention or in the Fall. I used to entertain voting for Clinton based on her "experience" but have been totally turned off by her tactics and "win at all costs" strategies that are literally destroying the Democratic Party and have eroded the sizeable national lead the Democratic party had.

The Democratic party stepped on their toes in FL and MI. They should have just allowed the candidates to campaign, included every candidate to be on the ballot, and halved the delegates. Unfortunately for them they were not smart enough to see this coming.
The bigger concern is why they would have Superdelegates in the first place. The whole purpose of the Superdelegates is to give some power in the case where the voters choose a candidate that the party does not favor. The party will then have some ability to override the will of the voters. How comical is that?

In the response to the individual from the 82nd Airborne, what a shame it is to hear you speak out against the price of freedom. I have friends from the 82nd Airborne that would be ashamed of that. It is tragic that we lost close to 4,000 soldiers and it cost close to a trillion dollars, however, I would prefer to spend trillions to keep as many soldiers alive as possible and bring freedom to a country long tormented and slaughtered by a dictator. We lost close to 60,000 soldiers in Vietnam, but improvements in technology have resulted in the loss of only expensive equipment, not lives. I'll be happy to pay my taxes and help foot the bill for that any day.

to jenna, what world do you live on? florida and Michigan both were told if you do this ,this WILL HAPPEN. they did it and true to word they lost out, whose flault is that?HINT:(florida and Michigan). let them take responsibly for their actions. 48 other states followed the rules what about them? this is a land of laws and rules. mr.obama was not on the ballot in Michigan and the people that would have vote for in florida did not come out to vote because they were told that florida broke the rule and their vote would not count. the problem with a revote is this in florida there would be no way to varify the votes because of florida laws; there's that word again. as for Michigan they will not allow people who voted in the republician primary to vote again and the only reason a lot of them voted in that primary was because they were told the dems primary would not count. hillary signed off on this. but since she's losing she has now this great love for florida and michigan and you bought into it. as for your threat to go to another party PLEASE DO! if you can't pay more attention to how people are using you; you need to go.every thing i have said here YOU can look it up on the web and SEE for yourself. please read before you make threats.

Superdelegates were created to vote independant of what the voters have chosen. This is the party's sytem of check and balances. Nancy Pelosi was wrong to say that superdelegates should vote the same way as pledged delegates. If that is the case, then eliminate superdelegates all together. I myself am near the breaking point, I may switch party allegiance pretty soon. And to all Obama supporters. There is an increasing amount of information coming out now about him. Read them all carefully and you will see a different hidden Obama. I would rather McCain be President, atleast I know pretty much who he is. No Obama the chameleon.

Isn't democracy the will of the people? So why do we need SuperDelegates to skew that?

Aren't SuperDelegates essentially voting twice and with more power (their vote is more powerful than a single voter and is on par with state delegates). Aren't they all power brokers and special interest groups?

So why were they created? More than likely to maintain status quo of powerful people.

The Democratic party isn't about democracy, it's about maintaing status quo.

I am a registered Republican and was thinking of switching party's, but to me the Democratic party is way off course using a small group of people who can actually override the popular vote of "the people" to make the final decision as to who their party's candidate will be. This procedure is exactly opposite of a democracy, and I could not support a political party who does this.

Now, I don't have a dog in this hunt but like so many others I find this very, very entertaining.

Jenna wrote: "Nancy Pelosi says she is respecting millions of voters, what about Florida Nancy? What about Michigan Nancy? What about those millions of voters who voted overwhelmingly for Hillary? How is this fair?"

Let's look at Jenna's statement about the millions of voters who voted for Hillary. So Hillary wants the two state delegations to be seated so that every vote counts. Of course, this is an opposite stand from what she agreed to before the primaries began. What is troubling is that she now has changed her position on these two states AND has begun suggesting that pledged delegates fom all states [presumably that Obama won] can vote any way they want, despite the voter's voice in their state.

If I read this all correctly, Hillary wants every vote to count via delegates at the convention, has changed her mind about how Florida and Michigan are to be handled now that she is behind, and now is encouraging pledged delegates to ignore the will of the people in their state and vote for her at the convention. ignoring the 'every vote by citizens of that state counts.

Add to that outrageous position, she has recruited the force of the 'fat cats' that have supported her and Bill for many years to intervene in her behalf and force Speaker Pelosi to back off of her stand.

Just what is 'democratic' about all this?

Nancy Pelosi oversteps herself. Who is she to tell super delegates who they can vote for? I do not believe Obama has a chance to be President after being exposed over his relationship to the anit-white pastor who is called "family" and expect a person with any intelligence to think he can bring this country together. Why would Obama wait until his pastor is exposed to decide he wouldn't stay if he hadn't retired? The pastor is supposed to be preaching salvation. The super delegates need to decide who can beat McCain (good luck there because it isn't going to happen). Obama has received so much adoration from the press until the Pastor Wright news came out and thank goodness it did and I hope more is revealed. We all tell our children to be careful who they associate with so why is he any different? You don't keep going around someone who spews out this kind of stuff unless you are in agreement. I hope Hillary hangs in there as IT IS time for change but be careful what you wish for in Obama (if that is whom you choose) because if Pastor Wright is like family, remember, blood is thicker than water as the old saying goes. It is just too risky. And I hope Nancy Pelosi reaizes she is not the super delegates mommy. I think the super delegates have a mind of their own and they can vote anyway they see fit and if that is not so, why have them?

I'm disgusted. We nodded sympathetically when Hillary indignantly denied all the shameless lies and accusations perpetrated by the "vast right wing conspiracy". We brushed aside all the hysterical right wing accusations of shadowy, self-serving, unscrupulous, immoral and evil doings in the "Billary" camp: Whitewater, pardons for Senate votes, etc. etc. Now, incredibly, it seems all the crazy conspiracy theorists were screaming the truth.

How can I trust someone who seems to be able to say anything, do anything, violate any principle, stoop to any level and crawl through any gutter, (or worse, disingenuously order her mercenaries to do it for her) in order to further her own personal interest?--because she's certainly not doing it for the Democratic Party. How can I trust someone who shamelessly violated our trust over and over, who is clearly willing do anything, even overturn the very democratic process and Constiitution she claims to want to uphold, all for a shot at getting back into the White House? What kind of person is capable of this? I'm so disgusted...

Bill and Hillary Clinton have officially destroyed the Democrat Party. I am so sorry we let those two in the White House in the first place. They both were an embarrassment from the beginning with the death of Vince Foster and Hillary's clean up job of his office. They don't care about this country or us.

Superdelagate = Blackmail

Do we really want Blackmailers to decide our next Democratic nominee? It doesn't matter if they support Hillary or Barack - do we really want them countering the will of the People with their self loathing agenda and their 'I'm better than thou because I have more money' attitude?

Let them drop their donations! We, the little guys, can more than make up for their withdrawl of contributions! It is again time for David to strike down Goliath.

I still have yet to have anyone, candidates included, to explain to me why Barrack only chooses to be labled as black only when his mother was white. He should have been running as a "person of color" who is as fluid and changing as America itself--a la Tiger Woods. Don't you think that the truth would have served him a bit better than just pandering to the far-left black pundits and the few guilt-ridden whites? What about us moderate democrat blacks who don't have anything to do with the Albert Sharpton-Jesse Jackson wing of the party. Before it seemed like an easy choice thinking of which candidate for which to vote, now I am not so sure that McCain (barf), may be a bit more pallitable than either of these two ego-maniacal, special interest serving also-rans.

Every time I read something like this is see clearly why so few people in this country vote. This is like watching a daytime soap opera, and is is really humorous just how child like all of our politicians really are. First of all, we have outgrown the need for any political party period!! We don't need them, the electoral college or the delegates. Just perhaps, we should actually let the people in this country vote and not have to sort thru all this mumbo jumbo that makes all of our politicians look like complete idiots!! And this goes for all parties, not just the democrats, although they are more fun to watch then it is to go to a cheap circus. Is it any wonder why our country is in such a mess? All I hear about is the housing issues, when healthcare and gas prices should be at the top of the list. None of them address these, so I must conclude that they have their own agendas and the hell with the rest of us. I would love to have one of them prove me wrong on this, but I don't expect to see it. I also don't expect to see this put in your comments, because I don't really think you want to air honest comments.
