Obama Bowls for Voters at P.A. Bowling Alley

ALTOONA, P.A. (AP)—While Democrats increasingly worry about winning ugly, Barack Obama was losing beautifully at a bowling lane in this central Pennsylvania city.

“My economic plan is better than my bowling,” Obama told fellow bowlers Saturday evening at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center.

“It has to be,” a man called out.

Obama dropped by the bowling lanes as part of his new emphasis on low-key, face-to-face campaigning during a six-day bus tour through the state. So for the time being, he is scaling back on the big, raucous rallies that have been his calling card.

The Illinois senator said he wanted to “take time for the retail politics that I enjoy and think helps people know me better. … We’ll probably save the rallies toward the end of the campaign.”

Saturday night, it was Obama Bowl-a-Rama.

And it was clear from the start that Obama was way out of his league, certainly any bowling league.

Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary is the next contest between Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton in their fight for the Democratic presidential nomination. Pennsylvania is the biggest single delegate prize remaining in the Democratic primaries.

Some Democrats worry the hard-fought, drawn-out race is already hurting the party’s chances to win in November and Republicans hope they’re right.

“I think it’s a good competition, but I think the Democratic party is going to be blown apart,” said Mark Irvin, a 49-year-old Republican who was bowling at the same time as Obama.

As Obama laced up his size 13 1/2 two-tone bowling shoes, he let everyone know he hadn’t bowled since Jimmy Carter was president.

He shared a lane with Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey Jr., who endorsed him Friday, and local homemaker Roxanne Hart. As the game went on, several small children bowled with Obama as well.

Obama and Casey had a private game of basketball earlier in the day, but they saved their F-game for the public at the bowling lanes.

On his first warm-up ball, Casey rolled a gutter ball. Obama’s first ball flew gracefully off his hand but also ended up in the gutter. On his second try, he knocked down four pins.

About five lanes over, a young man in a T-shirt that said “Beer Hunter” fell on his backside while bowling and still recorded a strike.

The crowd of regulars pressed in to take pictures, get autographs, and rib him on his poor skills.

Obama did improve, nearly getting a strike in one frame, and in the seventh, picking up a spare, giving him a score of 37. Casey had a score of 71 after getting a strike, and Hart, with one less frame, racked up a score of 82.

“I was terrible,” Obama laughed as he shook hands with a crowd that had gathered outside the building once word spread he was there.

Asked about his game, Hart sounded like a politician, saying: “He has potential.”

Obama said today that if Rev. Wright had not retired he would have left Trinity Church..So it took him 20 years to figure out that anti-American and anti-white messages from his mentor were wrong!!!!
Maybe this fraud of a presidential candidate can learn to bowl in 20 years too.

I think Obama should get out of the race. He will never win a national election. All he needs is proof that he heard the Rev Wright’s remarks and waited till it came out publicity to quit the church. Obama should get out now!

Fox,
I know it is an AP story… But why is this story worth posting?

I think Obama should not be President, I have a bad feeling about him. I was going to vote for him until the truth about his wife’s remark’s and the REV.’s remark’s. If the truth had come out about Obama in the beginning of the race I don’t think he would be where he is at now.He is working secretly with The REV. and the Hate Group against American

As I was reading the Altoona Mirror over the last week, I was frustrated that neither of the democratic canidates planned to stop in Altoona (even though it is between Johnstown and State College, the two cites that get most of the attention). So I decided I was voting for the canidate who stopped in Altoona, and if none of them did, I was writing in Kurt Cobain.
Thank you, Obama, for stopping in Altoona. Even though most of the voters in Blair County are republican, not all of the voters in this area are still stuck in 1950….you’ve got my vote!

OBAMA WILL LOSE IN NOVEMBER: Obama has won the GOP states. He couldn’t win any of the big blue states or any of the BATTLE GROUDND STATES LIKE OHIO, MICHIGAN, and FLORIDA. Hillary has won all these states and she is going to win PENNSYLVANIA. John Kerry lost majority of the states now won by Obama. Hillary won all of the major blue states. So Obama and his cronies are working to suppress the voices of 70 million people yet to vote as well as to silence the voices of people in Florida and Michigan. They are trying to steal the election from Hillary just like George Bush stole from Gore in 2000. HILLARY, YOU SHOULD NEVER QUIT SUCCOMING TO THESE BULLIES

He should spend the next four years learning to bowl - not how to be President.
