‘Vast Right-Wing’ Conspirator Reassesses Clinton, Comes Up Impressed

The publisher of a Pittsburgh newspaper known for his aggressive opposition to Bill Clinton’s administration wrote Sunday that he was pleasantly surprised by his meeting last week with Hillary Clinton.

Richard Mellon Scaife, who had been dubbed by the former first lady as the head of the “vast right-wing conspiracy,” wrote that he’s not ready to endorse the Democratic candidate, but her knowledge and self-confidence have made him rethink his views of her.

Recounting how Clinton entered the newspaper’s doors last Tuesday to speak with the editorial board on the very day that the newspaper had criticized her, the conservative billionaire wrote that “a lesser politician — one less self-assured, less informed on domestic and foreign issues, less confident of her positions — might well have canceled the interview right then and there. Sen. Clinton came to the Trib anyway and, for 90 minutes, answered questions. Her meeting and her remarks during it changed my mind about her.”

Scaife added that it is refreshing to see Clinton exhibit political and personal courage as well as a command of “today’s most pressing domestic and international issues.”

Scaife, who unnerves some conservatives with countervailing positions on abortion and the war in Iraq, said he still wants to hear from Barack Obama before his newspaper endorses a candidate in Pennsylvania’s April 22 primary.

But, he wrote, “I have a very different impression of Hillary Clinton today than before last Tuesday’s meeting — and it’s a very favorable one indeed.”

She was probably lying, just as well as she has been when saying she was influential to Ireland, or the under fire in Bosnia, or that she was in favor of the child heath care act, when she originally opposed it until it became more popular. This woman has fraud written all over her. If you look up Fraud in the dictionary Hillary Clinton will be right beside it in a picture with her pointing and her mouth open. Granted Obama has not had more than 8 years of experience but authored and co-authored over 180 bills compared to Clintons 60 bills over a 6 year duration. I think it speaks for itself. I can honestly say that McCain is looking alot better than Clinton if Obama does not win. At least neither of them is under investigation for fraud.

Of course he was impressed with Hillary! She’s a most impressive, intelligent, knowledgable, and well-credentialed person. And, as she herself said, she’s a “fighter” who is not afaid of confrontation. In this case, she marched right up to the door to deal with it…taking the bull by the horns, so to speak. What’s not to be impressed about?

I say Richard Scaife is just a very astute man.

On the other hand…..there’s Obama, who denies everything, blames things on his staff, does not take responsibility, and avoids anything substantive. I guess that’s why for about 711 days Fox News Channel has wanted to interview him and he keeps refusing, just as he refuses to even have a debate on their network. I guess he can’t get permission from the radical left wing whack jobs at MoveOn.org to appear.

Hillary or McCain - 2008

I have one question that I have yet to hear asked about Hillary’s misspoken comments on her landing in Bosnia.

Did she ever have a landing when the situation she described was present?

If not then it’s not just a slip of the tongue, it’s a total fabrication of events created to enhance her “experience” and a much more serious problem of credibility.

This is another plus for Clinton. Obviously she knew what she was talking about. I would be surprized if she didn’t get the newspaper’s endorsement. Looking at BO, he is light, bright and darned near white. Remember who else got that description–Adam Clayton Powell
