Obama Adviser Suggests Up to 80,000 Troops Remain in Iraq By 2010

As Barack Obama continues to criticize John McCain for saying he’s willing to keep a 100-year troop presence in Iraq, another Obama adviser has suggested U.S. forces could stay in Iraq longer than the Democratic candidate initially thought.
Adviser Colin Kahl wrote in a policy paper for the Center for a New American Security that the United States should transition to an “over-watch” force of between 60,000 and 80,000 troops by the end of 2010, according to an article Friday in the New York Sun.
That appears to be at odds with Obama’s public position of removing all combat brigades from the country within 16 months of taking office.
Kahl told the Sun his plan would still keep the U.S. “out of the lead” and mainly in a “support role.” He said the plan had nothing to do with the campaign.
The Obama campaign said in a statement: “The writing of Mr. Kahl, one of hundreds of outside advisers to the campaign, is not representative of Barack Obama’s consistent policy position on the Iraq war.”
But Kahl’s plan seems to jibe with other advisers’ statements that Obama’s withdrawal timetables are more a goal than a firm policy commitment.
Foreign policy adviser Susan Rice, for instance, told reporters in February that Obama’s plan to end the war in 2009 is not absolute, and that he reserves the right to revisit troop levels in Iraq upon taking the oath of office.
Former foreign policy adviser Samantha Power told the BBC that Obama’s 16-month plan is a “best-scenario” and that the reality is he will try to withdraw troops “as quickly and responsibly as possible.”
Power was the adviser who resigned in early March after calling Hillary Clinton a “monster” in an interview with a Scottish newspaper, but Clinton also tried to paint Obama an inconsistent for Power’s statements on Iraq.
Obama later affirmed that he would bring the war “to an end in 2009.”
Both Clinton and Obama have talked about keeping some U.S. presence in Iraq after withdrawing the bulk of American troops, but it’s unclear how broad that presence would be. Obama’s Web site states that “some troops” would stay in Iraq to protect U.S. embassies and diplomats and carry out targeted strikes on Al Qaeda if the organization tries to keep a base in Iraq after U.S. withdrawal.
Obama talked about keeping a “strike force” in the region Monday. That drew questions from McCain who asked, “Where are they based? What do they do? Now I’m intrigued. He has said he will pull out all troops before. How do you reconcile those two?”
Obama and McCain were in a war of words earlier this week over Iraq. Obama accused McCain of wanting to wage a 100-year war.
That claim is originally based on McCain’s statement at a New Hampshire town hall meeting in January that he would be “fine” with staying in Iraq up to 100 years, “as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or killed.”
McCain later explained that he meant American troops could keep a presence, much like they did in countries like Japan and Germany, and his campaign vigorously accused Obama of distorting his remarks.
Obama’s not the only candidate whose public statements on Iraq have been in conflict with those of his confidants.
The Sun reported in a separate article in early March that retired Gen. Jack Keane believes Clinton would hold off on an immediate troop withdrawal in Iraq. Keane, the Sun reported, was close with Clinton and declined an offer to join her campaign as an adviser. But the Clinton campaign told the Sun at the time that Keane’s statements don’t change her commitment to begin withdrawing troops within 60 days of taking office — that is the position on Iraq Clinton still has on her Web site.

More lies from the fraud Obama. This is the “change” and “hope” you kids seek?
Oh no… what is a rabid anti-war voter to do? It sounds like both Democratic candidates are being dragged kicking and screaming to reasonable positions!
The radical fringe “Everybody out by summer 2009″ Left may help someone get a Democratic nomination, but it won’t win a general election and the Democrats know this. Watch Sen. Obama’s position on this drift toward the center as he feels less of a need to placate primary voters and more of a need to address the general electorate.
GO HILLARY !!!
Well - I am no Obama supporter - but - just let it go! This is really not important - leave it alone.
You can just hear the typewriters in the Clinton camp working to jump on this one.
When all the Obama groupies find out that he really cannot deliver on the “promises” they though they heard him make - Then What? I guess he will tell them he had his fingers crossed whrn he said them.
It is clear, Obama will say anything to win.
While I think most democrats want us to be out of Iraq as soon as possible, any reasonable person knows you have to be very careful with how that is done. I am confident that President Obama will take great pains to extract us as quickly as possible, but not recklessly. I don’t care if it’s 16 months or longer, just as long as we start heading in the right direction. OUT.
Obama ‘08
Ask yourself this question: If you were a member of the Army, Navy, Airforce or Marines, who would you want leading you? Barack Obama or John McCain?
“Foreign policy adviser Susan Rice, for instance, told reporters in February that Obama’s plan to end the war in 2009 is not absolute, and that he reserves the right to revisit troop levels in Iraq upon taking the oath of office.”
Doesn’t “reserves the right to revisit troop levels” mean that he reserves the right to simply change his mind to whatever he sees fit at the time? Maybe he might decide he has to keep them all there because if we leave Iraq, Iran will take it over and breed terrorism and negatively influence the price of gas???
What? no spamming of supporter are going to comment on this? Oh wait, I forgot you guys are too busy raising money. He will get another free ride on this issue as well, pity.
Another prove the that senator and campaign may havesome things working for them, but being consistent is not one of them. Clearly the senator has been milking his iraq vote and as violence continues to escalate in Iraq and the senator finds out that his original plan of withdrawal might be a “fairytale”, he resorts to measures that are politically expedient. The senator has always said he had the best judgement about Iraq, well it looks like he might be stock on what to do now. Hillary 08, Obama needs training!!!
There’s a reason these people are called “advisers” and not policy makers. They are not the same thing. I guess Fox needs to take shots when they can.
I think that the notion of ending the war in 2009 is a stretch. Mr. Obama is making a blanket statement to appease the war haters in order to win votes, in my opinion. Unless he is absolutely certain he can end the war then it is best not to make a promise that you may not keep. “Reserving the right” (”…and that he reserves the right to revisit troop levels in Iraq upon taking the oath of office.”) to revisit troop levels is just a way for him to be able to justify NOT removing the troops as promised should he get elected.
I think all of the politicians need to stop making promises back based on what people want to hear and start truly leading based on thier own convictions even if that might ruffle a few feathers. A good leader doesn’t lead by polls or public opinion. Like a shepard you have have to lead the sheep around not simple ask a few where you should take them.
I can’t believe it!!!!!!!———————————-an article that doesn’t flatter Obama……..amazing.
I’m so sick of the media trying to decide this election for us. ABC has nothing but negative articles running right now about Clinton. When did the media decide it wasn’t enough to report the news and decide to start manipulating it? It is embarrassing to watch all of these male reporters get all hot and bothered over Obama. The hardball guy is the most recent one to get all worked up and excited. It was so weird, I had to change the channel. It make all of these news stations seem a lot like tabloid news. They are losing their credibility. It has actually been so grotesque to watch that I had to go to Hillary Clinton’s website and donate more money.
The truth be told - at least by Obama’s advisers, who seem remarkably in concert, that is –opposed to Obama’s view to pull the troops out immediately. 2009 would be immediately following 2008 election. But now there’s a “strike force” idea…..whatever that is.
I am pleased that Obama’s advisers are smarter than Obama on this subject. Alas, they are not the candidate for President.
Clinton did not say she would remove the troops right away, she has been more cautious in everything I have heard. Beginning to remove troops within 60 days would be nothing different than what George Bush is doing — he has begun to remove troops based on the situation on the ground. So some troops will come out — but we can’t just pull out the troops and high tail it out of there.
Do your math. If he were to take office in January 2009, the end of 2010 is not much more than 16 months. This is being done by the press to discourage people from voting for him. It didn’t work with me and hopefully not to millions of others.
NICE TRY! - You clowns at Fox are amazing! This person’s ideas are just that…his ideas. Once you read a little further down in the article you’ll find this passage:
“Kahl told the Sun his plan would still keep the U.S. “out of the lead” and mainly in a “support role.” He said the plan had nothing to do with the campaign.” So these are not the words or plans of Obama’s. I hate Fox News. The only reason I’m reading this article is because I like Obama and try to read anything written about him. I can’t wait to get rid of that harpy Hillary so that Obama can wipe the floor with McCain. He’s a doddering old man who’s out of touch, particularly with the young voters and every day people as evidenced by the magnitude and scope of the people voting for him and donating money. There’s no way that McCain will be able to compete. He’s already run for president, unsuccessfully. If he’s not careful he’ll end up like Ralph Nader…Complete waste of space.
Obama 08!
More proof this guy has no idea what he is doing. He is in way over his head. This is not a job for a rookie. I get the feeling that this ball started rolling and he couldn’t get off in time. If he had planned this he would have left that church he joined many years ago to get elected in that particular Chicago district and readied himself for a National scene. Maybe he will get off the dirty politics of saying McCain wants a 100 year war lie. Who am I to say, I’m a TWP and we shouldn’t be allowed to have an opinion.
Oh well, it is time to fire that Colin Kahl. Why? Because he is a realist in making this statement, unlike his boss, Mr. Obama, whose promises are just empty rhetoric. We do not need a charismatic leader that will verbally blow smoke up our butt to make us feel good and think good about ourselves. We need a leader that will talk straight and tell it just like it is - it isn’t as bad as most Democrats claim nor is it as good as some Republicans claim. John McCain wasn’t my initial choice for President, but I have decided that we need a proven leader like him to navigate this nation through some troubled waters that are ahead.
The truth is the truth and Obama needs to stop lying! It seems to be a chronic condition of his!!
you guys are moorans at fox we the american people can see right turoygh you this time and it’s not going to work, there is no media against John Mccain so why don’t you guys lay off hill and barrack get a life.
I wish Fox News would quit trying to create “controversy” when there is none. The only people influenced by an article such as this are people who are not going to vote for Obama in the first place. WHich is to say 99% of Fox’s audience! Fox is trying to make it seem as if Obama is lying to the public. But any smart person can see through the trick Fox. Obama WANTS to bring all of the troops home within 16 months. That doesnt mean he should ignore any and all advice which is the hallmark of the Bush administration. Just because Obama wants to bring the troops home within 16 months does that mean all of his advisers have to follow in lockstep? Of course not! Thats why they are called ADVISERS! They are there to ADVISE the candidates on what they think is the best course of action. On the other hand why doesnt FOX report on those advisers that agree wiht Obama’s desire to bring home the troops in 16 months? Oh i forgot. FOx is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican Party! IT must damage Obama!
Obama08
A 80,000 troop stike force does seem appropriate through 2010. If Obama is elected I hope there will not be any more money going to the racist Zionist state in Israel. Honestly, I would have voted for John McCain if he went up against Clinton. But when he did not recognize East Jerusalam as the Capitol of Palestine that prospective vote went out the window. The United States does recognize the IRA party in the Government of Ireland so it should recognize Palestine as well.
i see more lies from the obama camp… tell the people what they want to hear then backdoor them.. shame the people don’t wake up.
does he even know how to spell his name. A first grade student is smart enough to know that you could not pull the troops out. As a retired military person I hate to think that he would be the comander.
New Politics for sure because Obama has been able to lie time after time about his policies and people still worship him like a saint. And that my friend this is very scary in the bible talks about the false prophets that will lead the world into the big lie. I’m not saying he’s one of them but i do find it odd that people still take his side even when his lies are exposed.
It seems like Hillary and Barrack want to play it both ways. They are telling their liberal supporters that they want to withdraw from Iraq immediately while secretly admitting that they will need to leave a presence.
Ahh, yet another empty promise proves impossible to reach. . . . . BO isn’t ever elected yet, and already, on the Job Training. . . .
Unbelievable
These are the things that did not reconcile with his poetic rhetorics.
“Obama later affirmed that he would bring the war ‘to an end in 2009.’”
Sure, all he needs to do is declare the “war” over and relabel it as a peace-keeping or security mission. It’s quite easy to play word games to make it appear like he’s accomplished an essentially worthless campaign promise.
Why do the American voters allow themselves to buy into any canidate’s campaign rectoric just because they hear what they want to hear. Senator Obama’s stance on troop pullouts of Iraq may be what the crowds wish to hear, but the reality for a President Obama or whoever wins the next election is that actions on the ground will dictate withdrawals and not the whims of a politician and the masses who support him.
So no withdrawl of troops?
Obama the LIAR!
You can’t take a comment, made by one of MANY advisors, to be indicative of what Obama’s true thinking is.
Just another lousy attempt to discredit the man.
Getting boring, fellas…
You mean to tell me the empty suit was clueless about mision-critical troop levels? No way.

Any questions?
“This is right.”
“I will do this.”
“I want to do this.”
“I will try to do this, but I might change my mind when it’s too late for you to do anything about it.”
I like this guy less and less the more time passes.
On July 28th, the day after his speech at the Democratic convention catapulted him into the national spotlight, Barack Obama told a group of reporters in Boston that the United States had an “absolute obligation” to remain in Iraq long enough to make it a success.
“The failure of the Iraqi state would be a disaster,” he said at a lunch sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, according to an audiotape of the session. “It would dishonor the 900-plus men and women who have already died. . . . It would be a betrayal of the promise that we made to the Iraqi people, and it would be hugely destabilizing from a national security perspective.”
In late winter, 2008, on the campaign trail, Obama says he wants to bring the troops home yesterday — you decide — was he lying then or is he lying now?
Actually if you think about it, once Obama takes office in “09″ his projected time for a miltary pull out would come around 2010….I can see that…considering this is “08″, no big deal..
and so it (the lies and broken promises) begins…. the bull promises and ALL the anything to get your vote; then screw you factor….
The United States of America can NOT afford to elect someone who will NOT deliver on his/her promises to us…. we (all of us) are suffering too much and our country has never been in such turmoil except during the depression but we also were not at war then as we are now….
He has already publically stated he can not deliver his “health plan” till well into his last year of his first term and going into the next term… so idiots who voted for obama in hopes of this kind of change- wait you will not get anything he promised ….
go to obamatruth.org learn more about the man and his wife you wish to represent all of us….
It is not suprising both Clinton and Obama would back-peddle on their claims to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq. To make assertions by both democratic candidates was extremely irresponsible and was simply pandering to the far left to leave immediately. Obviously a candidate should not make overt comments about
pulling troops out without knowing if conditions are optimal to do so. Both candidates will have to learn to manage the war going forward “IF” they are elected.
Bush is hopefully optimistic troops can be pulled out as conditions stabalize in Iraq.
McCain truely undrstands this issue and I would trust he would make wise decisions if he were to receive a call at 3:00AM in the morning.
OK.
Will all the Obama supporters out there PLEASE realize that this man is PANDERING TO YOU.
He has no more intention of pulling the troops out overnight than McCain or Clinton, because he knows this would be DISASTEROUS to U.S. security in the long term. Anyone who truly understands what is going on over there knows this. Why do you think Pelosi and Co. have failed to push thru a withdrawl? because they know it would be DUMB!!
But he and they are willing to LIE TO YOU because they know that people are angry and want a “Feel good” message about the troops coming home.
I am not defending the Bush admin. Horrible mistakes have been made. But being angry over what was done, and letting that force to you make another mistake are 2 different things.
Face it folks. No matter who gets elected, we will have troops in Iraq thru THE END OF THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION.
At least McCain is honest about what he’ll do.
Obama is an opportunist of the first order, pandering to a base that is angry but does not truly understand the implications of what they think they want.
If you want Peace. if you want U.S. troops home as soon as possible, alive, THEN WE HAVE TO STAY IN IRAQ UNTIL IT IS STABLE. otherwise we’ll have an even worse war, with more U.S. casualties, on less favorable terms, and even more international problems.
How would you like $10 gallon gas? Pull out of Iraq before it’s truly stable, and that’s what you’ll get.
When are Obama supporters going to realise that Obama is just another politician. He’ll say one thing and mean another.
bbaaww hahahaha…I love when they expose Obama’s lies and exaggerations. It doesnt happen often because of the media biased. HILLARY 08!
Here we go again, Obama says one thing, yet his staff say another.
Obama is not believable and is a LIAR!
Great: If he listens to his advisers and holds to that; then that gives Conservatives a reason to vote for him.
The bottom line is that, while our guys are “keeping a lid” on the situation (at the cost of about 1 KIA a day plus billions and billions of dollars a year), the fundamentals of creating the pipe dream of a self-sufficient, self-regulating, and self-stabilizing Iraq are no where near in place.
Whenever our troops leave, there will be negative consequences as we remove the “lid” we’ve been holding on the cauldron of problems present in Iraq.
However, removing that lid, or maybe even threatening to remove it as of a specific date, is the only way to get the Iraqis to get their own act together of their own volition.
Screw it-let the Iranians HAVE the Quagmire. We eliminated our enemies and we should declare victory, put 50 more subs in the atlantic and pacific, 100 more F-22s on each coast refueled by AMERICAN BUILT tankers, and build a Great Wall of America on the southern border made out of a 100 foot concrete wall, machine gun towers, backed up with an alligator and pirahana infested moat, electrified barbwire, attack dog patrols, and punji stakes:
-Al Qaeda: neutralized & combat ineffective
-9/11 mastermind: in the booty house awaiting execution grabbing his ankles
-Saddam: dead
-Udaq & Qusay: dead
-Iraqi army: eliminated
-Republican gaurd: eliminated
We should increase the bounty on Bin Laden and Zawahiri to $10 billion each, funded by the savings we get from shutting down the Iraq operation.
While we’re at it, we should skim oil money from Iraq to buy Opium from Afghanistan and then sell it to Iranian youth to subvert their system.
Again - Fox irresponsible report. This report was a draft of information gathered for the purpose of making educated decisions. Remember? He uses folks from all sides of an issue with differing ideas to make intelligent decisions. Fox, you are trying to feed on small minds again - people who don’t know all the facts about the tiny dribbles you report for controversial and divisive effects. Wise up people.
Promise them anything… “I have a secret plan to end the war in Viet Nam.”
“Read my lips: No new taxes.” “I’ll bring all our troops home.” The list goes on.
I heard Obama stumble and search for an answer to Chris Matthews’ question about a hypothetical terrorist attack on the Capitol with hijacked airliners. “We’d study the intelligence… blah blah blah.” We studied the intelligence on Iraq and numerous countries concluded there were weapons of mass destruction in place. I can’t believe no one called him on that. Perhaps Mr. Matthews leg was tingling so much that he was distracted.
No one should even ACT surprised by this… NO ONE! All the campaign promises in the world won’t diminish the cold, hard reality of actual events and circumstances - no matter how badly everyone wishes for them to come true. The Dems talk a good game to their supporters during their campaigns - saying whatever it is they think will get them elected into office. But the truth of the matter is that they cannot make a SOLID statement about what they will or won’t do regarding the war in Iraq until they get into office and have the opportunity to assess the situation, in real time, from the other side of Oval Office. For now, and until November, they will play on the hopes and wishes of the voters who want US Troops out of Iraq.
It seems to me that Senator Obama has been billed as a “new kind of politician ” . Who does what he says. But then tells “Canada” that all the NAFTA talk is just that. Now all the “will pull the troops in 2009″, is now a “if all is going well”. It seems to me that Senator Obama is really the “Same Old, Same old” politician we have had for 40 years. Lets see what happens when it comes out how Mr Obama got his old job in the Illinois State Legislature. What is he really going to change if he becomes President , if he really is like “all the rest” ?
Barack once again is untruthful and inexperienced about what to do when he gets in the White House. He said ‘He would have all the troops out of Iraq within his first term’ - HMMMMMMMMM!
He’s not ready to be President!
Not going to bring the troops home. not going to stop NAFTA. not going to nationalize healthcare! So much change from the old way of doing things. This guy is a liar & a complete joke as is Hillary. McCain’s got this 1 wrapped up THANK GOD!
and what would obamas camp be saying if it was hillarys decision
Only sheeple buy what pandering politicians try to sell in the middle of a campaign. That’s why an historical record of voting and public service is so important.
There is no way Obama or whoever the next President is can bring home all the troops by the summer of 2010. If they do, it’s a clear fact (to any unemotional, logical person with an IQ above 90) we will create a perfect safe-haven for Islamic extremists. Maybe we shouldn’t have gone into Iraq in the first place but we did. Now we have to be sure to not leave it worse than when we arrived. Obama and his advisers know this as well as I do and he’s only pandering to what sheeple want to hear so he can get elected.
WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!
well, once again it seems we have caught obama in a lie. the funny thing is nothing about this is on cnn’s web sight. every thing neg. on that page is about clinton. news is great if it is reported equally and not just for or against one person. now once cnn wakes up about obama, maybe the rest of the nation will. i just hope its not too late!!!
Obama is a joke…..I sure hope that the republicans are getting all this stuff toghter so that they can show America what this guys is all about. It Doesn’t matter who’s in front of this guy he’ll lie and say anything and then change his mind after he says it. Rev.Write and that church Obama said he never heared the Rev. say anything racial during services that he atteneded. then he comes out and says yes he knew about some of the services that were anti-white and anti-american and was even there for some of them. LIE LIE LIE…… GO JOHN KEEP TELLING AMERICA THE TRUTH AND LETS GET OBAMA OUT OF THIS RACE AND BACK TO HIS RACIAL CHURCH !!!
Here is another flip flop between obama’s and his advisors. Obama doesn’t know what is going on with his staff. I suppose he blamed his staff for being a flip flop. If he doesn’t know what is going on to his staff now, god help america if he ever becomes the President of this country…no only a racist and bigot but he is a liar too. Can’t trust Obama of his word, a double talker. I’ll vote gop if he is the nominee.
Nice try…
clack, clack, clack, clack, ring….
Do they still use typewriters anymore..lol
Both Clinton and Obama have no idea what going to battle means. They havae said enought o hurt the feelings for the Iraqui people. What makes them think the they will be welcome, diplomatically? The have spoken strongly about abandonment and have villified the efforts of the US soldiers to free oppressed people- simply for political purposes. What kind of leaders will they make?
How is this story worthy of the front page of fox news?
Candidates have hundreds of advisors. One advisor says 80K troops should be kept in Iraq and it makes front page news.
Fox is a credible news source where I get a ton of my news, but I sometimes questions why they place so much emphasis on stories that are fairly irrelevant.
If the Obama himself would of come out and send it, then I can understand the attention.
But one adviser. C’mon.
Just proving once more that Obama will say what he thinks the people want to hear, but he knows fully well that he is just selling blue sky and swamp land to get elected. No “new politics” here, folks. Just the SOS.
The real Obama shows how he learned from the Reverend Wright.
Joe
What an absolute non-story. NONE of the candidates can tell you with 100% accuracy what they are going to do as Commander-in-Chief until they become Commandr-in-Chief and are privy to ALL the information available to a Commander-in-Chief! it would be like a prospective CEO of a company telling you their business plan without seeing the books. Grow up!
It is hard to pin point anything tell someone is in office. I really do not think we know how bad things are with Bush in office…and if we did we would be marching in Washington to remove him early.
BUT FOR HILLARY…
WALK HILLARY WALK…AND PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SAY A WORD ON YOUR WAY OUT. You lie…it is all over the news about you and PENN and the Private Trade meeeing with Lobby Firm Burson-Marsteller in Colombia….You are an embarrassment to the party and the US.
You threw this at Obama and guess what…funny how things that you do to someone else returns and gets you….
Obama has lied about everything else in his campaign so why should people be surprised by this. I for one am in agreement that we cannot pull out of Iraq at this juncture, but Obama is telling the public what they want to hear to get elected. Not change we can believe in, but the same old politics. At least McCain will give you the truth about what he will do and you can expect him to live up to his word!
Now I really can’t trust Obama.
Hillary or McCain ‘08
Obama is jusr another politician that will tell you what you want to hear. In Ohio, he was against NAFTA but then told the Canadians, who were upset because they like the free trade agreement, that not to worry, he isn’t really against it, it was only campaign rhetoric.
He knows the far left wants the war to end and he pacifies them with, “I will end the war immediately” talk, but knows it’s not that easy. If we left Iraq quickly before the Iraqis can fend for themselves it would be utter chaos, With Iran and the Taliban controlling the region. Our men would have died in vain and our influence in the world would be nil. About all Obama is good for is smooth speech that appeals to the uninformed. This man is dangerous to this country. We must elect John McCain.
Obama might voice WHAT the people want to hear, but he KNOWS McCain is right. And as usual, his story changes. Oh, that’s what he means by CHANGE!
I would NEVER want to vote for a candidate who said unequivocally that we would do an immediate and complete withdrawal. While I don’t want our troops there — the fact is, we are there. By doing a mass exodus, we are jeopardizing whatever troops ARE left — and our troops safety should be the focus of any withdrawal plan. Obama has said all along that we would begin withdrawing troops immediately — but has ALWAYS said we should do it in a way that is safe for our soldiers.
Saying this only proves that he has put thought into it - keeping our soldier’s safety on the forefront — which is more than Hillary can say….well, actually, she will say whatever she thinks you want to hear because she wants your vote.
This polical prevaricator said that he became a”Christian”, 20 years ago! What was he before that, OR does only part of a life count???????lies, lies & more damn lies!!!!!!!
What wrong with that, if he win he going to be president in 2009, he said 16 mounts that would gave him until 2010 + 4 mounts, he can still draw down troop before or after that. Secondly no presidential candidate has all the answer, but at lease he does want to stay in Iraq until 2100. this is something about noting
Another example of Obama his changing views of he and his staff. They will say anything to get elected and yet they show they understand the knowledge and wisdom of McCain. Any response from the obama camp is verified to ensure its accuracy. Now they understand this is a direct conflict to what obama is “preaching” they understand this “misspeak”. Maybe obama can somehow tie this to JFK since he tried so hard to tie his parents coming here to JFK. McCain and the 100-year remark, he did not wait to correct the statement, he did the following sentence and when you hear both you understand his intent. Unlike Obama, he chose to ignore the rants of his mentor and only when the general public began its outcry did obama make a speech, he did not answer the questions - only lip service in the form of a speech. When obama was asked by barbara walters about his statement of the need to fire Imus and anyone in his staff would be fired for statements such as his - obama gave more lip service in the form of a speech - still did not answer the question. I’m sure after this, obama will give another speech
Fox,what a shocker…I’m blow away…….News worthy,Ditto Heads?
Obama will do what he said, fox news, leave Obama alone!!!!
More lies. That’s the way Obama works. He tells everybody exactly what they want to hear and has no intensions of following thru. He only wants to win the election. He thinks he’s being smart by telling war opposers that he will withdraw troops immediately then getting one of his expendable lackeys to tell the Republicans that he will not withdraw troops. He’s playing both sides of the field. Lyeing in our faces, laughing behind our backs.
Come on fox, Obama has always said that we can disagree but not being disagreeable. And this adviser, which the article does not say he is a foreign advisor is writing a paper on what he thinks should happen and even stated that this my plan not Barack. He is not one of Barack top foriegn policy advisor. So, if you take it with truth. Barack has stated that he will begin pulling troops out when he takes office, which is Jan 09 and it will take 16 mouths to get the combat troops. Come on fox, this is 2nd grade math. 16 months is mid 2010. This is a non-story
A number of people on his “side” are “at odds” with his stances. Bill Richardson comes to mind, who has an excellent record on 2nd amendment issues, is backing Obama and this after this week’s statement from Obama that he doesn’t believe law abiding citizens should have concealed permits.
Once again, big business gives the Canidates the news how the war will continue to make them more money at our soldiers lives expense. If the Democratic controlled Congress wanted to shut downt he War they could but everyone on Capitol is is making a future my from our taxes and our troops lives. I hope they all suffer for rest of their lives.
Votes should NEVER be discounted in the United States. Regardless of who it will or will not benefit all votes MUST count. The Democratic party has just stuch the final nail in its own coffin.
No one has actually positioned Barrack to explain how he plans on “making changes” to anything. Is this really a surprise? Hillary will also have to explain her strategies, after demanding immediate troop withdrawal from majority of the democratic party, now they must think! Nothing but sales(wo)men.
Obama has said withing 16 months 2010 is only around 11 months if he wins, thats still better than 165,000 troops
To KJR
How is Obama lying? How does one out of hundreds of advisors saying something contrary to what Obama says make him a liar? If Obama himself would of come out and said it, then you could say. Well look at what a flipfloppe he is.
One advisor said this, the man himself didn’t.
Did you even bother reading the article or just the headline?
Fox News’ “gotcha” game with Obama is so tired and lame. Itonly appeals to your audience FOx. And i guess thats the point. Look morons, Obama has HUNDREDS of advisers! HUNDREDS! Do you think they all agree on IRAQ? IF so you are truly stupid. In fact this adviser was simply expressing his PERSONAL view, not the views of the OBAMA CAMPAIGN! Fox you must do better than this if you are really trying to damage my man obama! This adviser wasnt speaking on behalf of the campaign. ANd yes while Obama WANTS to bring the troops home in 16 months, it doesnt mean he wont listen to his ADVISERS! Only republicans close their ear to any opposing views. lol!
I was just on MSNBC to see if they had this story up, and it is no where to be found. I am so dissappointed with this cable network, I was such an avid fan before this primary but now Chris Matthews and others have made it impossible for me to watch. It is so one sided and the journalists have no morals or integrity. They only report the good stuff for Obama and report only the bad stuff for Clinton, this is wrong and should not be allowed.
Way to go right wing nuts. How many times do we see this happen? A right wing paper or source (i.e., NY Sun, Wash Times, Weekly Standard or one of Scaiffe’s papers) prints something irrelevant or downright false only to have the other right wind media run with it…creating virtual truth. Anyone remember the Barack schooled in a Madras lie? You guys never stop but I don’t think it’s not working anymore. Rasumussen says Democratic registration is up and Republicans are down. America gets it and now discounts the right wing echo chamber!
well, another proof of obama lies.we can see real obama better every single day.flip-flop obama.there is the reason why he is part of a bush family.obama would say anything to get a nomination.he need to quit the race for white house and go back to senate.
Obama will SAY or DO anything to get this nomination. He has said over and over again and in every debate they’ve ever had that he will bring ALL the troops home within 16 mon
