Pelosi Says Bill Just ‘Being a Husband’ in Misspoken Defense of Hillary
Nancy Pelosi suggested Bill Clinton’s age played a role last week when he made an error-riddled comment about his wife’s 1996 trip to Bosnia, saying he might have had a “late-night adult moment.”
Pelosi, who sits behind only the vice president in line to the presidency as speaker of the House, made the gentle jab at the former president speaking on CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday, saying maybe he should get a pass on the remarks.
Pelosi, D-Calif., said she believed Bill Clinton “was being a husband and wanted to be protective of her.” But, she said, “I couldn’t possibly tell you the motivation of that remark.”
Hillary Clinton was forced to admit she “misspoke” in describing the trip to Tuzla, in which she said she arrived under sniper fire and had to run crouched on the tarmac from the airplane. News video that surfaced later showed a relaxed arrival for the former first lady.
But on Thursday, Bill Clinton brought up the trip again — after the campaign had hoped the story had gone away.
“There was a lot of fulminating because Hillary, one time late at night when she was exhausted, misstated and immediately apologized for it, what happened to her in Bosnia in 1995,” Bill Clinton said.
The following day, he corrected himself, and admitted that his wife asked him not to talk about that subject. Hillary Clinton had made erroneous references to the trip on several occasions, including a mid-morning speech; the trip was not in 1995; and it was several days before she said she misspoke on the matter after the news video surfaced, and she had made the claims over the course of several months.
Sunday, Pelosi was asked if she believed the former president was trying to undermine his wife’s candidacy. Pelosi sidestepped.
“Maybe he should be forgiven,” Pelosi said, adding that she believed Clinton and her Democratic rival Barack Obama are “two great candidates.”
Sitll, Pelosi said: “I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why the president would have said it, except he may have been having a late-night adult moment. But let’s leave it at that.”
Will Pelosi please be quite and get something done in Congress that matters to people.
If Clinton was a Repulican the fact that he was a husband would have never come up!

In the course of this presidential election it is good to know we have the constituition, for the three candidates are flat, unsteady and uninspiring, so while these canditates are unsuitable for the presidency, we can already begin the divorce proccedings and finalize it on the first tuesday in november of 2010.
may be Bill had been refused bed dinner by hilary and as a mafficking tactics retaliated with this blatant statement. bill is a political mafia even to his wife. can u figure out the first gentleman being bill begging for sex when hilary is busy recceiving a midnight call?. how is it gonna be like, like giving it to her from her back whilst she is directing soldiers in iraq on fon to come back home. it will be terrible.
