I agree with the comment J.C.Watts would make a good running mate with McCain but voted for and supported Romney in the Alabama primary.
After Mitt bowed out I lost my excitement concerning the 08 race but could easily regain it if McCain picked Romney as his running mate as I thought Romney would make a great President then and still would if needed to step up if necessary.
It would be a great choice and a wise choice for McCain to have Romney as his running mate.
Mitt has already said he would be honored to serve.

I’m surprised that no one is talking about Christine Todd Whitman, the former governor of NJ, as a potential running mate. NJ can potentially be in play this year. Also, she has executive experience at the state and federal levels - not to mention that having a woman on the ticket would be a good thing for the Republicans.

Obviously this analyst did not see the last Gallop poll of REPUBLICANS who said their first choice for VP is Huckabee — he’s my first choice too!

I strongly recommend Mike Huckabee as McCain’s vice-presidential choice. He energized thousands of Americans in his run for President, would balance the “age issue,” brings conservative character values along with many good ideas from his 10 years of executive experience as governor.

Michael Steele is a great choice for Vice President. He would bring balance to the ticket. Mr. Steele is a very strong conservative both socially and fiscally. He is well respected, and a straight talker. He leaves no room for ambiguity on his views of issues, and will fight for the right policies to truly help the people of this country prosper. This fits very well with McCain’s straight talk, and I think he would satisfy McCain’s goal of finding the person that could pick up and keep pressing forward on important issues if he were to move into the Presidency.

John McCain has many great choices, but the seasoned candidates are Romney and Rice. I’m sure Rice is burned out on the news media, but she and Mitt wear well with the public. My personal choice is Mitt. He knows the ecomony,has a wonderful family, age wise is good for MCain. He loves his country and would make us proud.
