South Carolina Pastor Posts Church Sign Linking Obama With Bin Laden
A South Carolina pastor says he was not trying to be political when he posted a sign in front of his church linking Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden.
Pastor Roger Byrd said he just wanted to make people think when he put up a sign reading “Obama, Osama — humm, are they brothers” in front of the Jonesville Church of God on Thursday.
Obama, a Christian, attends Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Fifteen percent of respondents to a recent Associated Press-Yahoo News poll said they thought the Illinois senator was a Muslim.
WYFF-TV reported Monday on its Web site that Byrd said he won’t take the sign down. He said his congregation voted unanimously Sunday to keep it up.
The church is part of the Church of God, a Pentecostal denomination based in Cleveland, Tennessee, according to the organization’s Web site.
Jonesville is a town of about 1,000 people in northwestern South Carolina.
It is hard for me to believe that a church would be promoting hatred. Not sure what type of church this is but obviously NOT CHRISTIAN!!!
I wonder if those who are whining about this also want the tax-exempt status taken away from B.O.’s pastor Wright’s church (they have preached their support for Obama for a long time)

Is this a part of the great commission? Where is the separation of Church and State? Shouldn’t the IRS revoke their non-profit status for this kind of disgraceful behavior? Should the church embrace racism?
i believe that this is a bad show especially from a servant f God. i am a Kenyan and the things we experienced over our last years elections were because of the stand in the church the church became partisan supporting the various political leaders, in the end the pastors were either preaching one leader or the other .
we the citizens begun fighting each other we forgot that we were Christians , be not cheated the US is no different. This pastor is leading his church to hell.
Okay…what is there to think about? Apparently there is some subliminal message that this pastor wanted to put out by using the church property to justify his true feelings. American people are much smarter than that, so please!
Brad also needs to check his facts. Obama was also educated in a catholic school while overseas. most of his schooling was in the catholic school not islamic. he anly spent about 3 years there, then came back to the USA with his mother,without his father.
