Bill Clinton Bristles Anew Over Questions About ‘Race Card’
Former President Bill Clinton had a testy encounter Tuesday with reporters who questioned his remarks in a radio interview in which he accused Barack Obama’s campaign of unfairly playing the race card on him.
“You always follow me around and play these little games,” Clinton shot back at an ABC News reporter who questioned him about a phone interview with Philadelphia public radio station WHYY.
On Monday, an audibly irritated Clinton railed against the Obama campaign for what he described as an effort to twist comments made in South Carolina on Jan. 26, the Palmetto State’s presidential primary election day.
In the remarks that sparked the furor, Clinton compared Obama’s campaign to that of civil rights activist Jesse Jackson.
“Jesse Jackson won in South Carolina twice in ‘84 and’88, and he ran a good campaign, and Senator Obama has run a good campaign. He has run a good campaign everywhere. He’s got a good — He is a good candidate with a good organization,” Clinton said.
Obama supporters said the remarks were meant to belittle Obama by comparing him with a black candidate whose appeal was more narrow. Obama called the remarks hallmarks of the politics of racism.
Asked Monday if he regretted the comment, Clinton responded: “No, I think that they played the race card on me, and we now know from memos in the campaign and everything that they planned to do it all along.
“Do I regret saying it? No. Do I regret that it was used that way? I certainly do. But you’ve really got to go some (distance) to portray me as a racist,” Clinton said, adding that he has an office in Harlem, and Jackson told him personally he was not offended.
“I called him and asked him if he found anything offensive. And he just laughed and he said, ‘Of course I don’t. We all know what’s going on,’ ” Clinton said.
Clinton told WHYY that he has “conceded that this was used against me, but this was a conversation that occurred early in the morning. We didn’t even know what the vote was going to be at the time. We were all sitting around, drinking coffee — we just finished breakfast — and we were starting, we were talking about South Carolina political history.
“And this was used out of context, and this was twisted for political purposes by the Obama campaign to try to breed resentment elsewhere.”
The former president added a more colorful remark at the end of an interview when he appeared to think he was off-mic.
“I don’t think I should take any sh** from anybody on that, do you?” he apparently asked someone in the room.
A reporter on Tuesday asked Clinton what he meant when he said the Obama campaign was playing the race card on him.
Clinton responded: “No, no, no, that’s not what I said. … You always follow me around and play these little games. And I am not going to play your games today. This is a day about Election Day. Go back and see what the question was, and what my answer was. You have mischaracterized it just to get another cheap story to divert the American people from the real urgent issues before us, and I choose not to play your game today.”
Faced with questions about the former president’s remarks, Obama said he simply didn’t understand Clinton’s point.
“So hold on a second,” Obama told reporters with a chuckle. “So former President Clinton dismissed my victory in South Carolina as being similar to Jesse Jackson and he is suggesting that somehow I had something to do with it? OK, well, you better ask him what he meant by that.”
His campaign spokesman dismissed it with more glee.
“The secret memo? Where we put the idea in his head to say what he said so he can blame us for having said it?” spokesman Robert Gibbs said with a wink. “That would be pretty good if we could do that.”
Hillary Clinton sidestepped questions at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania about her husband’s remarks.
“I think we’re going to stay focused on what voters are focused on,” she said.
Clinton’s recollection of the Jan. 26 comment is a problem his wife has had to deal with throughout her campaign. While Clinton recalls the comments coming over coffee, the specific remark most people refer to came during an impromptu television interview with an ABC reporter. No breakfast or coffee was immediately visible in video of the interview that was given outdoors.

isn’t it funny that only one person has mentioned how gov. rendell as praised the nation of islam. the organization that farrakhan runs. dan abrams mentioned this last night. news networks are frightened to mention anything about this. how can clinton and rendell say one thing and do another. hyprocrites come to mind.
Bill spoke the truth.
That is only threatening to folks who cling to illusion rather than fact.
I do not believe Bill CLinton remarks were racist.I do believe Obama camp will try to make people believe it was.
How many times will a Clinton not remember the past correctly? There is a pattern here. Wake up Clintonites. They always remember the past to serve them well. Remember White Water?
Typical Clintons…They can say whatever, about whomever and do whatever…But, don’t be a meany to the Clintons or they might start crying. They can twist anything ever said, better than anybody who’s ever gotten out of bed…If you see the rhyme…give me the reason to vote for these people…2 term limit’s is more than enough for one family to soak this Country
I wondered when the Clinton campaign would slip up and say something racist on-mic. “The hallmarks of the politics of racism.” Good quote.
It is just so sad that Hillary has somehow forced or caused Bill to stoop as low as he has. Mr. President, please just let it go. Stop bringing up all these negatives. What has that woman got on you?
You are very near to ruining your legacy. You left the office beloved. Even those that didn’t side with you politically, had to attest to your positive standing with the American people, and reputation in the world.
Now, you are becoming Hillary’s clown. Your ratings are so low. Please go back to what you do best, and work with the people, be a positive influence outside of politics. Stop participating in Hillary’s career. There’s nothing you can do anyways, she’s a sinking ship, don’t go down with it.
Please!
On one except the Obama camp has played the race card in this campaign. The black community as well as the white and Hispanics are in for a rude awakening if Obama wins the White House. He will give racisum a whole new meaning. Bill Clinton has nothing to hang his head over. Before we elect unknown like Obama we be better check him out alot more than we have to date.
Who a person stands for will always come out when the mic-is OFF! That just proves to me that this is who he really is - it don’t surprise me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obama is way too sensitive
Liberals are supposed to be so opened minded and intellectual. They don’t like labels, yet they are so quick to throw out the racism label. How ironic, one liberal calling another liberal a racist. I watch in delight as these hypocrits feed on themselves.
maybe he made a “misspeak” or was under sniper fire !!
It was a calcualted move. It is the last shoe to drop. I won’t be surprised that Obama wins today in PENN.
and the chickens have come home to roost…..
Bill Clinton is not a racist and everyone knows that. Enough all ready, Bill has been treated
unfair in the news media and frankly speaking I have had enough.
When a person tells the truth, he/she always remembers the facts as they were. When a person tells a lie and then another to cover that lie and another to cover the next lie etc., they will never tell the true facts becasue it was never true to begin with. I learned that from my Mother as a child. I am now 61 and I have never forgotten it. Bill and Hill should have learned this lesson a long time ago.
Your report finishes by pointing out the Clinton’s memory is a little suspect, when it relates to him making these comments……………..is this news ? Clinton’s memory is always suspect…..(Either Clinton)…..remember..”I didn’t have sex with that woman” (should have said Girl), “I don’t know where those documents are” and of course two years later, ” I don’t know how those documents got on my desk”, and let’s not forget ” I have always been a Yankee fan”, and ” My Grandfather was Jewish”………..this line of commentary can go on for pages and pages………the point being, it is much easier to chronicle the times the Clintons have told the truth, than it is to detail all their lies.
I seldom agree with Bill Clinton but in this case I totally agree with him. The irony is simple: if Obama can clarify and highlight his own race, thereby indirectly highlighting his opponent’s race, why is it not right for others to also highlight it? Sounds ~very~ hypocritical of Obama…and insulting to me.
And…for the record, it’s o.k. to say the S**T word in PG-13 movies…so what the H*LL is the big F***ing deal?
we all know bill clinton is far from being a racist, in fact he known as the first black president because he so much not a racist. for obama to say he is is a desperate act to try and win penn.i understand why bill would be so up set , it was a personal attack on him , whick makes no sense he is not running, and he should not take any sh………..from any one on this issue of race.
He is not, nor has he ever been a racist. I’m getting really sick of reverse-racism: racism coming from blacks against white people.
T’was a calculated comment meant to ensure that Hillary loses the nomination… Bill does not want his “administration” tarnished by another Clinton… even though Bill’s administration was scandalous and he benefitted from Conservative Republicans led by Newt Gingrich - the guy still thinks he did an awesome job.
History will write otherwise as his out-of-control wife was involved in dozens of scandals, some still unresolved. He had the opportunity to capture or kill bin Laden several times but failed to take action. He took campaign money from the Chinese and gave them technology secrets in return… God only knows if gave them all of our nuclear and rocket technology.
No more Clintons even near the White House… no thanks.
Anyone have any idea what the Democrats can do besides bash people, even themselves?
I haven’t heard a word about their plans for changing America, just that we need a change.
Wake Up America…Wake Up!!!
Look A hardcore republican here; Bill Clinton has done many things to be angry about but one thing I will say is he is not a racist. Obama is a racist it’s just too bad that that label can only be used on whites. But then again what else is new, as a white if were not guilty then were racist. If McCain doesn’t win this rediculousness then I know one citizen moving to Canada.
Oh come on.
What I want to know is why there are more black men in prison than any other race…yet, that is racism. I don’t particularly care for either Obama or Clinton… however, if we vote Republican this election, we will have more of Bush (who I did vote for the first time but predicted that he would bankrupt our country if given four more years — and he HAS — do folks realize we are BORROWING money from CHINA to pay our bills?) so it seems to me that some Democrat/any Democrat will be better than what is happening now with John McCain extolling the virtues of George W. Bush.
It is time to stop yelling racism every time a white person opens their mouth! If African Americans want equality, then go off welfare and stop whining and get a job. Listen to Bill Cosby. Listen to any number of working, articulate, educated A/A women and men. I wasn’t a slave owner, you weren’t a slave. If you want equality, ACT EQUAL and stop yelling racism.
Poor Bill and Hill; they’re having too many senior moments. Is it that or they just plain lying?? Imagine that! I bet on the latter. Same ole Clinton agenda: If yfou get caught, lie your way out.
I am sorry, Bill Clinton grew-up in Arkansas. Look at his appointments as Governor. Look at his staff. The remarks about Jesse Jackson were meant to say, “Any Black Man can win an election in South Carolina, look at Jackson’s success. But get these boys outside the areas where there is a Black Majority, and they can not win.” The Clinton Campaign has wasted millions of dollars trying to paint Barack Obama as a Black Man trying to run Whit America. Anyone who falls for this tactic is a fool.
AMAZING!!! I thought Bill Clinton was the first black president! I guess since Hillary is running against Barack, he’s not black enough. Wow……I thought that was the purpose of Obama joining Wright’s church. He wasn’t black enough.
Bottom line……the Clintons are not racist!
In the long run, it doesn’t matter if either hillary or barack become the nominee. Their voting record is virtually identical. Far left, tax the hell out of anyone who succeeds in their pursuit of personal achievement.
If you honestly think fuel prices will drop when hillary “takes the profits” of the oil companies, or when a democratic government raises taxes on the “rich” just go back to the carter years and see what happened when they did it last time. Better yet take a careful look at the states and cities who are doing to their citizens what the democrats want to do to the rest of the country.
All you young folks rooting for barack and his message of change better stop and think. If you plan on making a good living in the future, supporting him guarantees that you will be paying far higher taxes at the time you finally reach your goal of success. Under carter, the top marginal tax rate was 70%. Think about that before you vote if you ever plan on making a lot of money.
Nuff said i hope. Think, do the research and don’t just jump at some catchy slogan without asking how “change” will affect your life.
be safe and God bless
Just another case of Clintons lying, cheating, and spreading filth as he has for years. It will be great to rid the USA of the Clintons.
No way did Bill Clinton forget that mike was open - he intentionally made those remarks…..
For the candidate, Mr. Obama, to pronounce over and over that his campaign is not about race, disgust me. It is about race whenever he chooses to play the card. I can’t find substance with this man and his associations continue to prove his total incapacity to be a President of our United States.
Hey Bill…..If you cant stand the heat you better get out of the kitchen. hahahahaha
I don’t really like Bill Clinton, but still, he is far from being a racist. Obama is just worried that the people in Pennsylvania are not as in love with him as those in more liberal parts of the country….and for good reasons!
He needs to get his facts straight. Bush appointed more minorities than he did. Then again the Clinton’s do not get their facts straight.
This is typical of the Clinton song and dance every time they are called on something they said.
Good for Clinton to get mad. He should have. Obama’s spinning makes Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly look like amateurs.
If Obama gets the nod, we will surely see Sen. McCain as out next President.
Why is it when a white person says anything about a african americans it is interpreted as being a racist comment. But when an african american says anything about white people that is clearly racist it’s always”oh its not a racist statement it was just taken out of context or misinterpreted”.
There is a double standard in todays society and it needs to stop. The term african american itself makes my point.Should white people be called europeon americans instead of caucasion. There are just as many black people that are racist as well. It’s time to get off the “race card” crutch.
As an African-American and a Obama supporter, I do not and did not find Bill Clinton’s Jesse Jackson comment offensive. I think it is unfair to call Clinton a racist based on that. I don’t like when someone is defined by One statement. Just like with Geraldine Ferraro and Barack’s “bitter” comment and even the guy from VA who called the young man “maccaca”. It is just stupid to hang someone for misspeaking or having a comment come out wrong.
open mouth insert both feet
Does any of this really surprise anyone?
Do I think Bill Clinton is rascist? No.
Do I think Bill Clinton likes to rewrite history? yes.
Do I want another 4 years of Clintons in the White House? No
Can we just get over the minutia details of Bill’s original statment. “While Clinton recalls the comments coming over coffee, the specific remark most people refer to came during an impromptu television interview with an ABC reporter. No breakfast or coffee was immediately visible in video of the interview”
OKAY…so no coffee or breakfast was in view. I think we are heading down a slippery slope where we expect every detail to be recalled exactly as it happened. Easy for us to do since we can sit here and research online all we want but you’ll have to forgive if I don’t buy into all this crap.
Memo to Hillary:
Want to win the votes of over half of the U.S. population? Divorce Bill.
Please, Please think twice before you vote!
Wake up young students!!
Vote for McCain!!
You are wrong if you are thinking about your tax will go down!!
Obama and Hillary will raise your tax.
Vote for the Republicans.
A good thing I heard - Hillary says she has experience, but she is running a horrible campaign with tons of drama with people she is surrounding herself with (i.e., bad judgment), and it has been less than 2 years. So people want to elect her to a 4 year term with much more power… if past performance is an indicator of the future - take a look at the mis-management of her campaign.
But anyone who does not agree with obama is a KKK member and a racist, including president clinton.
lol obama’s cult following will step on anyone who gets in the way of their quest for power.
I get sick of everyone playing the race card. This campaign has caused me to not care for either canidate because of the pettyness. What I dont understand is why they are not trying to win us over. Our country is falling apart and they are bickering over “Race.” They should be trying to sell themselves to us. As of now I dont see the potential in either.
The comments made by former President Bill Clinton, unaware that his microphone was on… is typical Bill Clinton! Say what you think…do what you want to do…then say you’re sorry later. Hey, the damage is done and a simple, “I’m sorry” or firing a worker just doesn’t cut it - thats called a sacrificial lamb. They’ve both gotten into a habit of doing that. While I have not made a decision who I will support for President of the United States yet, you can bet that every time Wild Willy opens his mouth, it pushes me further and further away from Hillary. These two have a track record of saying things and then offering apologies. And as for his record of service since he’s been out office - don’t kid yourselves. He’s had his own political agenda for everything he does. Do we really want four more years of the Clintons? Her experience with world leaders is exactly what again? I sometimes wonder why former high ranking Clinton officials are supporting Obama rather than Hillary. If she were so qualified, why are they jumping ship? Sure makes one wonder what they know that we don’t. Be aware of both candidates, America. Know the issues. How can any candidate with a net income of millions even begin to understand the needs of the middle to lower class?
According to Barack Obama and his followers, everything is racist if you don’t believe in what he is trying to sell America.
For you information he said
“I don’t think I COULD take any sh** from anybody on that, do you,” Bill Clinton said.
I think he was asking if he would take any sh*t from Hillary’s campaign for what he said in this radio interview!!!
Get it RIGHT you A$$HOLES!
The funny things is this….Obama didn’t call him a racist! The media is making the remarks…
As far as the race card…look at who made the FIRST remark about race!!! Clinton camp was the one that tossed out “black or African American”….then the media ran with it! I have yet to really hear Obama make mention of his “blackness” or whatever you want to call it!!!
Whether people want to admit it or not RACISM is still a huge issue! Its not always “black people” that throw the race card around….. Clinton has been throwing the race card as a scare tactic!!! The sad thing is that there are still people out there that are falling for that crap!!!!
“Big scary black man” running for president will be her next TV ad!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!
OBAMA 08!!!!
The Clintons are funny that way - lapping it up when the press fawned all over and adored them, and then calling it “unfair” and “manipulation” when they aren’t the object of the media’s lovefest. Truth is, the Clintons have spent their careers patronizing the black race (and now illegals) strictly to get votes.
Great comment, courtcopphil!
Underlying but pervasive message from Obama is that if you don’t support him, you are racist and clinging to your guns and religion out of sheer ignorance.
Maybe Hillary should start flinging the word “misogynistic” when Team Obama tries to trash her!
As a Citizen of Canada I shudder at the thought the Clinton’s might make it back to the Whitehouse. I personally think Mrs Clinton would be one of the most dangerous Presidents the USA has ever had if she makes it.
I also think Mr. Obama doesn’t have enough experience to be President. The U.S. appears to be on a downward slippery slope when it comes to Presidential Candidates.
Clinton and Obama make McCain look like President Lincoln.
I can’t believe how so many young and older Americans are so entranced by the Clintons & Obama. It’s like “they” have cast a spill upon these people with their socialist agenda.
By the way McCain isn’t any better then the Clintons & Obama.
No coverage to speak of on what BUSH and the representatives’ of Canada & Mexico are doing this week in New Orleans. Trying to promote the North American Union that will change the United States of America forever. Every news agency should be covering this conference I’ve only read about it on WorldNetDaily’s web page.
I know who is in charge of this election “GOD almighty”. HE will pick whoever HE wants to be the President of the United States of America It may not be whom we would like but GOD is in CONTROL. The LORD lifts up one and puts down another
Wake up America before it’s too late.
Don’t you thnk Bill is such a fine Christian man? He continues to impress all of us with that language.
And who is whining now?
Much ado about nothing. I don’t believe Bill Clinton is a racist, black people in general don’t believe Bill Clinton is a racist, and I seriously doubt that Barack Obama believes Bill Clinton is a racist. His comment regarding the South Carolina race is not nearly as prejudiced as Trent Lott’s comments regarding Strom Thurmond.
Come on! Bill did not say anything racist! People are wanting to see what simply is not there. Stop interpreting and twisting the facts to fit your agenda. This has been happening from the very beginning of the campaign. Barack Obama’s interview (while running for the senate) with the chicago newspaper supports what former President Bill Clinton and Geraldine Ferrarro have said about the large number of supporters from the black community. They pointed out the facts and Barack Obama agrees with and it. It has been spun to be a racist comment. A political spin. Barack knows this and he has lost all respect, how can he be a uniter when he isn’t stepping in and explaining to everyone that he himself acknowledges and agrees with these statements? Because he is using it as a political edge! He is allowing race to become an issue and because of that, he isn’t being truthful to the American people. The Clintons have fought for civil rights, we owe it to them to acknowlege their continued fight for equality and stop falling for the pundints, extremist supporters and political rhetoric crap. This is all a game to them, it makes them money.
My comment is to this story:
It is just one more in a line from a speach, or event where the Clintons think they are under the
radar and no one is paying attention. If a person that follows them from time to time all they say and do does not seem so bad, but you take the whole body of events that the Clintons are involved in, and how they view the fact they think they are owed the White House by some devine right.
I have never voted for a Democrat in my life, and I am 65 years old, but I am this time because
I feel Obama, even with his faults, can pull this country around, he will grow into his shoes if he
is allowed to be president. I don’t think Mc Cain can do it, I feel it will be 4 more years of the same old Bush inside the belt way kind of stuff, with the same good old boys running things, and
this country can’t wait four more years to get fixed, we need it now.
Thank you,
I agree with Malcolm. As a Chicagoan in Cook County we lead the nation in county sales tax, property taxes, and historic increases in everything from vehicle registrations to every imaginable fee related to home sales, parking tickets, entertainment taxes; the list seems endless.
The state of Illinois mirrors the same government-as-industry, tax ’solution’ strategy as Cook county and Chicago. The budget deficit of 200 million dollars each for the City and County and 500 million dollars for the state have been met with the usual, corrupt, unimaginative, unaccountable, shameless response: Raise taxes further still.
While key players in every level of government here are being federally investigated, indicted, tried, and convicted, residents of Illinois must hopefully soon start to wonder if their all too consistent willingness to keep vast super majorities of democrats in power is a major part of the problem.
The absurdity throughout is that every single machine democrat in Illinois, Daley, Blagoievich, Stroger, Rush, Guttierez, Jackson, Durbin, and Obama, continue to point the finger at the only remaining Republican visible to Illinois voters, the President, in spite of their complete stranglehold and obvious corruption in every level of Illinois government.
All the while, Obama, who never once decried the culture and embarrassing tradition of corruption, but instead wants credit for merely “navigating” it, now makes a claim on the White House, while his current house (Illinois) is burning.
Stop the twisting. Anyone can interpret what is said to please or displease themselves. Start outlining the hows. How are you going to implement the changes you think need to be made? Where is the money for change coming from? Before I vote for President I want to know, from where, this money for change will come. And what are the contingency plans if that money has to go somewhere else? Can we treat this as carefully as I do my own budget?
South Carolina is old news. Why embrace a conversation about it now, he could have just let that question go without all the drama and putting this back in play.
Bill Clinton is trying to be clever here and re-inject the issue of race right before voters go to the pole. Obama has said nothing about South Carolina at all, only focusing on the issues and Hillary. So who’s really playing the race card, who pulled it from the deck and put in play
This whole thing is sickening…hopefully it will soon be over. I am an Obama supporter….and firmly believe that Senator Clinton has displayed her lack of integrity…this has come down to character…she openly admitted that she lied about the Bosnia thing…what else has she been lying about? She preaches about experience…but isn’t trust an issue as well?
Neither CLinton ever says anything they did not plan on saying. Clinton’s off-color remark was intentional because he believes it makes him more of a man’s man and shines his image. Both are all image and little else.
Implying that Clinton’s racial views are tainted simply because he hails from Arkansas is like saying any politician from New York is influenced by the Mafia. A native Arkansan, I have despised the Clintons from their first appearance. It doesn’t matter which of the three turkeys gains the presidential office, the liberal slant of each will have to be dealt with by the majority of Americans during the four years they inhabit the White House. Regardless of your political affiliation, it is going to be a matter of making our voices heard over their “we know what’s best for you” intentions. We will have to stand up like never before in our history to prevent further loss of our liberties and unbearable taxation. You can also count on anyone of them to make blunders that our children and grandchildren will have to deal with throughout their lifetimes.
Lovely how the Obama supporters will try to undermine Bill’s importance in this race until they find something they can hammer him on. However, judging by national polls, Obama’s empty rhetoric works for most of the bleeding heart liberals.
Barak Obama never lies? Barak Obama never misspeaks? Barak Obama practices change politics? None of the above are true statements because all politicians do is play word games to win elections! The difference between Barak and Hillary is after winning an election, Hillary then goes to work!
Barak is the best politician the world has ever seen! I hope we never see it again!
I am so sick of the Obama camp screaming racism. You can’t deny that blacks are voting for him, and that gives him huge edge in some areas. Just the same as his race works against him in other areas. If Obama wants the open discussion about race as he claims, thn he has to stop screaming racism every time a white person makes an observation about race. Doing that only silences any discussion. Good for Bill Clinton not to take any sh** off of anyone.
I personally won’t vote for Hillary or Obama. I would like to point out that Obama is using Neuro Linguistic Programming on the public, NLP. It is a little bit like converting people’s thought patterns through embedded wording and anchoring skills. How else could anyone climb the political ladder and get thousands of people following them so quickly and effectively? It is a crafty skill that I understand Hitler used very effectively.
Hillary is just a liar and a reptile in the grass.
People need to WAKE up. This nation and our national security is at risk. Don’t be fooled or ‘played’.
And to top off my opinion, not to thrilled with McCain either. However, I don’t think he’ll put our nation at risk as the democratic party would/could and yes, will if elected.
More of Bill’s Psyco babble. Everybody who can do simple math can see that Obama is going to get the nomination. And the, Clinton legacy of lies, scandle, horrible temperment, and in my humble opintion, treasonous behavior with our long term enemies, will finally be over and they can just go away.
Obama and McCain aside, the worse thing that could possibly happen to this country would be to have Billery win a general election, have her husband move his desk into the oval office right next to her’s, and start running this country by proxy. All while Madam President strutts around like the queen bee that she thinks she is, and begins her own legacy of lies, lies, and more lies.
I would much rather have mr. Obama in the general election. So he can finally face the tough questions that the America hating media has chosen to let him slide on for the past damn year, such as his relationships with obvious haters of this country, his refusal to wear a lapel pin of our flag, and his refusal to put a hand over his heart or sing along with our national anthem.
as is shown in a New York Times photo in the issud dated 10-05-07. (google it ).
There should be little thought needed to realize who out of the three prospects, which one would be better for the country. Not exactly rocket science is it ?
Bill Clinton, the man who served our country for 8 years AND GAVE US THE BEST 8 ECONOMIC YEARS OF OUR LIVES!!!!. I have no problem with what he says. It’s the truth. At lease he isn’t saying GOD DAMN AMERICA, OR SMALL TOWN AMERICA IS BIBLE AND GUN HUGGERS WHEN THINGS GO BAD……..
Is Bill Clinton Racist? NO!
Did Obama’s campaign try to spin it that way? YES!
Obama showed his true colors when he spoke about the people in small town America; trying to portray them out to be bitter, cling to gun / religion / racism. It’s just not true!
Bill Clinton shouldn’t have to defend or explain those statements any longer, if he should have at all in the beginning.
ANYONE that has the AUDACITY to attribute any racially charged motives to either Sen. Hillary Clinton, or Pres. Bill Clinton.. has some serious issues and clearly knows nothing about their life struggles and about the citizens they have helped and encouraged along the way.
Non-Issue!
HILLARY WINS PA!

. . . Senator Clinton has displayed her lack of integrity…this has come down to character…she openly admitted that she lied about the Bosnia thing…what else has she been lying about? She preaches about experience…but isn’t trust an issue as well?”
We were told that character did not matter when Bill Clinton was in office and now all of a sudden it is important?
Hope: “Bill Clinton, the man who served our country for 8 years AND GAVE US THE BEST 8 ECONOMIC YEARS OF OUR LIVES!!!!”
He didn’t do anything that contributed to this. He just happened to be there.
JUST A LITTLE SAMPLEOF WHAT THIS COUNTRY IS IN FOR IF A BILL CLINTON GETS A 2ND RUN IN THE WHITE HOUSE…..HE FOR SURE WILL BE MAKING THE BIG DECISIONS SINCE HE IS THE EXPERIENCED ONE OF THE TWO (HILLARY/HIM)….
OR…IF BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA GETS IN…..HE WILL FLIP EVERYTHING UPSIDE DOWN TO ELEVATE THE VICTIMIZATION THE DEMS LOVE TO MAKE UP OF THE EVERYDAY PERSON IN AMERICA….ESPECIALLY OF COLOR.
WE ALL WILL BE MADE TO APOLOGIZE FOR BEING RELATED TO THE WHITE EUROPEAN ANCESTRY.
GET READY….ALL YOU DEMS, IT WILL BE ON YOUR SHOULDERS SHOULD YOU ELECT ANY ONE OF THESE 3 PRESIDENT! WE WILL BE SO TIRED OF APOLOGIZING FOR BEING SELF SUFFICIENT AMERICANS AND DMADE TO SUPPORT ALL THAT AREN’T…THAT WE WILL WANT TO LEAVE…..AND LIVE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.
I WILL NOT TAKE THAT CHANCE AND WILL NEVER VOTE AMERICA HATERS AS PRESIDENT OF MY COUNTRY, THE GREATEST IN THE WORLD! I WILL VOTE FOR MCCAIN.

Bill Clinton, the man who served our country for 8 years AND GAVE US THE BEST 8 ECONOMIC YEARS OF OUR LIVES!!!!.

I think Hope, if you recall - it was BILL GATES that gave us the economic streak during those years - NOT BILL CLINTON who just sat on his butt and did nothing except bomb innocent people to redirect attention from his other activities, etc.
I will try this again. Please, please don’t vote for Obama.
I am a 68 year old woman and I can not believe anyone would vote for Obama
WHY WON’T YOU DISLPAY MY COMMENTS??? I thought this was so that everyone can give their opinion, what is wrong with mine?
What is so racist about saying “Senator Obama has run a good campaign. He has run a good campaign everywhere. He’s got a good — He is a good candidate with a good organization.” Are we going to vote Obama in and then anything anyone not black says will be seen as racist. This whole thing with racism against blacks will never end because we can’t say anything that will not get blown out of proportion. People are always stereotyping Hispanics and we don’t scream racism. I remember an interview with Eva Longoria on Oprah, Oprah said what does it feel like having your own Hispanic gardener? Oprah is like God to everyone so she can say whatever she wants. I bet people think that Hispanics are dishwashers, maids or gardeners, and we are interpreted that way on television. Nothing Clinton has said is racist.
Your future first lady, ladies and gentlemen.
I don’t see anything racist in this report. Bill Clinton’s mouth does tend to outrace his brain sometimes in this context I don’t think it was racist. The fact that Jesse Jackson did not give the comments a second thought says volumes!
I dont like Bill Clinton. I have never liked Bill Clinton. Unless the good lord sends a dove down on his sholder admist a bright beam of light with angels singing in a proclamation of sainthood I will never like Bill Clinton. But I have to agree that Bill Clinton has never struck me as the type of man who would be a racist or make racist remarks. Obama is an opportunist. Plain and simple. Never trust an opportunist. they have no salt in their bellies.
So much for the Rhodes Scholar.
I am a Republican, so at one level, I really do not care who wins the Democratic nomination.
On the issue of integrity, however, I do believe that one thing is clear from experience. The Clintons’ former presidency should have taught this nation one clear, unmitigated lesson: never trust anything a Clinton says. They are simply all about drama. At one level, of course, one cannot accuse them of being liars for the very simple reason that they do not seem to believe that “truth”, as the majority of Americans conceive of it, exists. This fact alone should disqualify them from any consideration for public office. America, apparently, really doesn’t learn. And this is so sad.
Can it be argued that Obama also lacks integrity? Perhaps. But the main difference here is that Barack Obama (to concede that the discussion is actually worthy for sake of argument) lacks the years of practice in deceit that the Clintons’ have. He also lacks a marital partner with an established level of flagrant corruption. One may have misgivings about Michelle Obama’s politics, but nobody has ever hinted that she partakes of the same level of guile that the Clintons regularly display to the world. Such an intimation would be prima facie recognized as absurd.
The best evidence for what is mentioned above is from the Clinton supporters themselves who admitted that of the three major candidates, Hillary was the most likely to “do anything” to get elected (apparently, Hillyites are just “okay” with that). And this fact is even more horrific to those of us who still possess a modicum of moral reasoning than the nation’s inability to learn from its past mistake of electing the other Clinton.
I’m tired of Obama calling everyone else racist, He needs to take a good look in the mirror.
What is so racist about what bill clinton said???? If this country elects obama we are in for a very rude awakening.
i have not seen this level of racial tension since the 60s. we can thank obama and his pastor.
