Still Trailing, Clinton Challenges Obama Over Ability to Beat McCain

Hillary Clinton’s big win in the Pennsylvania primary yielded only slight gains in the pledged delegate count, putting pressure on the New York senator to pull off a streak of similar victories in the nine contests ahead.

But Clinton is using the victory to build her case that she’s the better Democrat to face presumptive GOP nominee John McCain in November. Her campaign was re-energized as the candidates tour Indiana Wednesday, brushing off the still daunting task that lies ahead.

Clinton raised $3.5 million in the initial hours after her victory, and the campaign said it was on track to raise $10 million online in the 24 hours since winning Pennsylvania — which the campaign claimed was her best one-day haul.

“At the end of the day, people have to decide who they think would be not only the best president, which is the most important question, but who would be the better candidate against Senator McCain. And I think the coalition that I’ve put together, as demonstrated once again last night, is a very strong base for us to beat Senator McCain,” Clinton told NBC’s “Today.”

Not so, said Obama.

“It’s important to put this in perspective,” he told reporters after a town hall meeting in New Albany, Ind., Wednesday. “What we did do in Pennsylvania is create an organization, make voters familiar with me, close the gap significantly, which creates an organization for us in November in a general election. It’s a strong base to build on … We’re very confident about where we’re going to be once we’re the nominee.”

Clinton won at least 81 of the 158 delegates up for grabs in Tuesday’s contest, according to an analysis of election returns by The Associated Press. Obama won at least 70, with seven still to be determined. That closed some of the distance for Clinton, but not enough to take away Obama’s front-runner status. She still trails Obama in the delegate count 1,591 to 1,719 — the eventual nominee needs 2,025 delegates to win. Clinton had been down 1,509 to 1,648 before the night’s delegate tally.

Her electability argument is based on the success she’s had in big states. Clinton has won states, including New York and California, with 240 electoral votes compared to 202 electoral votes in states that Obama has won. She has used that statistic to argue that she will be a better candidate in the general election. Her campaign also issued a statement that she has won more of the popular vote than Obama although that count included Michigan, where he wasn’t on the ballot, and Florida, where neither campaigned.

“I’m very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anybody else,” Clinton said Wednesday at a rally in Indianapolis.

Indiana and North Carolina are the next states to vote on May 6.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said any Democrat can win California and New York, but Obama is doing better than Clinton in states where polls have been taken on hypothetical head-to-head match-ups with McCain. Plouffe named Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nevada, Virginia and Wisconsin as strong Obama performance states. Obama hasn’t won a major state since Wisconsin on Feb. 22.

Plouffe added that by Clinton’s own definition, she must win North Carolina, with 115 delegates, by a healthy margin in order to be consistent in her claim that she can win big states. Polls show Obama well ahead in that state.

“We don’t think performance in primaries is the most important measure in how you’re doing against McCain right now, but we’ve performed well in a lot of those states in the primaries,” Plouffe said. “It’s a flawed exercise to somehow suggest that performance in primaries is the leading indicator in what’s gonna happen in the general.”

He also shot down some of Clinton’s argument that Obama can’t win households with income under $50,000 and voters under 60 . Plouffe pointed out that Obama won voters under 60 in 19 states to Clinton’s nine, and won 14 states to Clinton’s 15 states with voters making less than $50,000.

Obama hinted Wednesday that he feels he’s already earned the nomination.

Asked about superdelegates at his town hall meeting Obama said: “I have to admit I have a little self interest in here — but I do think that these elections that we’ve been doing should be counted for something. And so if we’ve won the most delegates from the voters, seems to me that it might be a good idea to make me the nominee.”

Clinton still leads Obama in superdelegates by 25. Hot off her victory, Clinton on Wednesday picked up a new superdelegate, Tennessee Rep. John Tanner. For either candidate to win, they will have to rely on the remaining 300-plus unpledged party leaders who serve as superdelegates.

“There’s no chance she’s gonna catch him in terms of pledged delegates,” National Public Radio national correspondent Juan Williams told FOX News, adding that if she can make a convincing argument that she can win the big states, then she has a chance to catch up through superdelegates.

“Short of that she’s really inviting civil war inside the Democratic Party. That’s literally the nuclear option,” he said.

FOX News’ Bonney Kapp contributed to this report.

What Mr. Plouffe fails to acknowledge is that these states were won before any of Mr. Obama’s laundry was aired. I doubt he would do nearly as well now.

The conservatives in our area are now saying they would rather go up against Obama because they think he will be easier to defeat.

Things change, yes they do.

Comment by Nicole

I’m so tired of hearing why can’t Obama close the deal. This is an election. Why does the man have to prove anything when he is ahead. Why can’t Clinton seal the deal?Be fair to senator Obama.

Comment by Tony

I think the GOP was always more worried about Hillary and even Edwards than Obama. The guy is just too far left to capture the large number of moderates and independents it will take to win the states like Ohio, Florida, PA and maybe even Michigan come November.

Obama will win the states that the Dems would win if they nominated a pet rock. He is going to struggle in the swing states.

Comment by Ron

Hillary’’s new slogan is ” Why can”t he close the deal?” That would be because Obama is not a used car salesman like her. Keep counting those imaginary delegates from Michigan and Florida. If there is one thing that America stands for, is that We are a nation of Laws, and Michigan and Florida broke the Democratic laws. The Democratic Party is not going to show the rest of the country that they will break their own rules.”If we had the same system as the Republicans, I would already be the nominee….” yet another Clinton scenario for winning the primary. Do you think that you can make any other points as to whether the superdelegates should back Hillary ? Why did the media fail to chastise Ed Rendell ” There are some people in this State that will not vote for a black man” but they vote for someone who channels Truman and said ” We can totally obliterate Iran” By the way that wasn”t McCain who made that statement… it was Hillary. I did not say Clinton, because you may have understood it to be Bill Clinton.

Comment by Infinity E.

I’m sure if McCain as well as Hillary’s Laundry was aired at least half as much as Barack Obama’s he’d be winning by a landslide.

Comment by James Riley

Dear Hillary,

My name is James Riley. I am 45 years old and disabled. I am behind you 100%. All I can give you is 2 dollars. If everyone gives at least 2 dollars you would be on a roll. I would like for fox to recognize me tonight.

Comment by Larry from LA

Plouffe very good points. I think if Obama wins Indiana and big in North Carolina some of the superdelegates should go to Obama, The rest of the primaries will probably be split among them

Comment by Michael

What Mccain fails to realise is that the turnout of Obama supporters mostly new voters would blow him away. A lot of Republicans have nothing on Obama and has resulted to judge and find him guilty by ASSOCIATION.

Here are some Real Tough Questions you should get ready for Senator Clinton

• What type of Foreign Policy Experience has Senator Clinton had
• While President Clinton was in the White House was Hillary Clinton giving security clearance to read any national intelligent information in case a crisis came up
• What Foreign Leaders has she met with and what were the bases of the meetings.
• Why didn’t Senator Clinton read NIE Report before she voted to go to war?
• Do you think if Chelsea were in the military, she would have exercised more precaution before agreeing with President Bush War Strategy
• Why did it take Senator Clinton until now to regret her vote?
• What makes her a more qualified woman to be President over someone like Barbara Boxer who actually had the courage to vote against the War
• Why is your campaign taking money from a Firm being accused of Serial Sexual Harassment?
• Has one of Senator Clintons campaign chairman also taken money from Tony Rezko and if so
• Has Senator Clintons campaign chairman given the money back or donated to charity
• Don’t you think Courage is more important than being Politically Safe?

I am still voting for McCain. That is the only sane choice.

Comment by Fred M

Regardless who the Democrats nominate, we will see this in November: All Red States in Bush’s camp in ‘04 will be Red again. Several of the more populated states that gave their Electoral vote to Kerry, will go Red. It will be an electoral vote landslide for Mccain.

Comment by Maria Angelo

I guess we should change Clinton’s Campaign Bus from SOLUTIONS EXPRESS to DOUBLE SPEAK EXPRESS. The Clinton’s sold the rights of workers & the Unions in America for $800,000 in 2005 to Columbia. Bush sells America to the Chinese for $12b each month to fight Cheyenne’s /Halliburton’s war in Iraq and Mark Penn tried to continue Clinton’s plan in Colombia for 2009 until they got exposed. Double speak is all I can say. America is not for sale. No Vote for Bill/Hillary in 2008/2009. Enough is enough.

Comment by cheryl

That might be so but the gallup polling says he is still favorite for nomination, so actually whether his dirty laundry is out there are not….MOST democratic voters want him to be the nominee.

She is in her own fairy tail. she can not win, never she is only diminishing the democratic party, Bill and Hillary they both will be remain as ghost of democratic party, she will may lose New York seat too. Better for her to take care of herself and look for the future, and she need to stop fooling herself and need to stop playing with emotion of the people.

she is the most evil lady on the planet earth.

Comment by Ant Jill

By comparison, how much money did Obama get after the election? He was given another $100 by me and many others. So, lets see “the other side of the coin”.

Comment by Snootylooter

Commonwealth of PA is reporting this afternoon that Clinton won by 9.2% NOT the double-digits that the media and the Clinton campaign are reporting. Since the phrase “double-digit win” seemed critical to her further continuation in the race, it seems the 9.2% spread would now be a bit news-worthy.

Comment by Serena

Obama’s laundry what about Clinton’s, she has enough skeltons in her closet to fill a whole cemetary.

Comment by LT

It is interesting to me how the topic has changed in one day to “why can’t Obama ’seal the deal?’” I think the question that has been, and is still the one to answer is “how did Hillary go from first to second-best in less than one year?” In my humble opinion, the heated democratic primary does not highlight a unified, expanding Democratic party, but only emphasizes the country’s disdain towards returning another Clinton White House. Democrats are even divided, which has led to millions upon millions of voters supporting Barak. By all measures, Hillary was the presumed, nominated candidate a year ago - until democrats realized both conservatives and moderates do not trust nor will vote for Ms. Clinton. Now she can only hope to somehow persuade superdelegate, the “elite” of the party whom she has recently alienated in her own “bitter” way.

Comment by Jules in the Midwest

I would have to agree with Kaci on one count, that Obama won states BEFORE his dirty laundry was aired. Had people known what a racist Obama really is, I don’t think that they would have voted for him. I think instead they would have voted for Hillary. Obama is the one who is dividing the party. Hillary is trying to unite country again, if given the chance. I too, believe that when it comes down to it, Obama would be easier for the conservatives to defeat, so it is up to the Democrats to back Hillary. She clearly has the most experience and quite frankly I think that she would do a better job in office than Obama. We certainly all know that the US is in dire need of change (Of parties in the White House) and Hillary is our Woman. GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!

Comment by MOLLY

CONGRATULATIONS HILLARY YES YOU DID!

Argue over Electability??? - Senator Clinton is the best candidate - and the superdelegates will soon see this fact. She won BIG in PA, will do well in the remaining states, COUNT FL & MI - and she wins the popular vote. Even with 6 weeks of campaigning, 12 Million $$$$$$, OBama just cannot seem to knock her out!
I agree with Kaci - we did not know about OBama’s radical associates and poor judgment until recently - I am sure many of the first vote states would like to “Change” their votes now.

Comment by E C

The more I watch and listen to Obama, the more I see a bitter quality. I also see that he is easily annoyed. It is important for this primary season to play out so we can seewho this guy really is. We do not need the super delegates to decide the out come. Why do the heads of the democrats want this to end? Do they just want to appoint Obama? Obama has a lot of negatives, that in my view, make him not for me. If he can not impact his church after 20 years, and not truely distance himself form the hate filled Rev. Wright. How does he think he can lead the American people…all of the American people. Words do matter, and his words are put togeather very well, but we need more then words, and I am afraid Obama is all talk, with a secret agenda, that does not include “we the people”.

Comment by Miss Andi

I agree Kaci; Obama is not electable. I will vote for McCain before I vote for Obama. Obama is all talk; he blew off questions at the debate, althought, I agree, it was not much of a debate, and his charecter is a huge problem. You are who you hang out with. There is no way he didn’t know his pastor was a racist and anti-American. Plus his wife’s comments about America indicate she agrees with their pastor. Plus the only reason Obama has more money then Hillary is because his supporters are rich elitests and Hillary’s supporters are the rest of us that his backers are standing on. Go Hillary!

Comment by Joseph Browning

Everytime a new story appears that is the slightest bit positive about Hilary Clinton,
Obama fanatics jump all over these boards and go crazy. The truth is Clinton is the best candidate period. She offers substantive answers to the complex issues facing America instead of vague rhetoric about Hope and Change. She is battle tested and ready. Obama outspent her three to one and still lost by ten points. He can’t close the deal and he can’t hold up to the Republican scrutiny in the fall. Youthful enthusiasm for Obama reminds me of the excitement so many had about George McGovern in 1972. He could very well end up the same way if the next big Obama scandal doesn’t take him down first. The truth is out there, and it will come out.

If Hillary steals the nomination, I’ll be voting for McCain.

Comment by Paul

The only winners today are Rush Limbaugh (Operation Choas) and McCain. The longer Hillary stays in the race with no chance of winning, without stealing the nomination and inviting a civil war in the party, the better off McCain is in November. There was no surprise that the older, uneducated, and low income voters in PA are Hillary’s main supporters. They just proved that they are not smart enough to know that by voting for Hillary they actually increased McCain’s chances in November. If it wasn’t for Rush Limbaugh’s listeners voting for Hillary in “Operation Chaos” this thing would of been over after Texas and Ohio.

Comment by M Period

Miss Addi…

Actually his donators are the middle class, on average, and Hillary has the big doners who have maxes out the amount they can give. But even with his “dirty laundry” in the air, he’s winning the nation popular vote. He’s going to bring in a Rendell or some1 like that as his VP. That will give him PA, maybe Ohio. He’s a democrat so he will win NY and Cali and he’s won every other state he needs. One of the big reasons McCain doesn’t really hit Obama on the Wright issue. Is its all playing out now, by Nov it will be old news. When it comes down to the issues, McCain’s past votes, Obama will easily take a 60-40 majority of the independents and will win the election overwhelmingly. The argument over electability is silly, McCain has no chance at winning the general election against either democrat. Hillary has no chance of winning the democratic nomination. So like it or not most people on here might as well get used to calling Obama president.

Comment by DINKY

I’m neither Democrat or Republican. Neither party has done anything for the American people. The United States is becoming one of the worst places to live. People are losing jobs and losing their homes everyday. I’m not voting in this election because neither candiate is deserving of my vote.

Amazing how the media, depending on which one you watch, slants the outcome of last nights results.
Obviously someone is voting for Hillary since she raised 3 million dollars an hour after the win in Penn. hmm!!
Obama hints of earning the nomination-I don’t think so!!-writing two books doesn’t count-Hello!!
The popular vote and qualifications is what counts and Hillary has it all
The republicans want Obama to win because they know he will lose to McCain!
If the nomination goes to Hillary the republicans will be trying to figure out how to FIX the next election!!

I have to wonder how much attention someone who wrote this message actially pays to politics. It seems to me that Obama is lossing his edge and his temper as this drags out and we are starting to see another side to him. Also, by the way Clinton is a Senator from New York, not Penn.

Obama is still in the driver’s seat? Yea, and today, is speeding around Indiana putting out more false information on Hillary! So much for cleaning up the campaign. Then he comes out and cries “poor me, I’m being attacked”! This man has got to have 200 personalities……………….but no solutions!

We have the arrogant guy who schmoozzez us, and then we have the bubba lady that could not make an obvious decision to leave the ‘other’ president that brought that office down to an all time low & and oh of course remember the sniper fire that she embelleshed.

Comment by JB

The only reason hillary won by such a large margin was because of rush Limbaugh’s operation chaos, and all you democrats out there should be happy about it. Does anybody actually think Obama is going to get a significant crossover from rebublicans? Thats laughable, at least Hillary isn’t a fanatic. I mean look at this guy, his wife has apparently never been proud of this coutry before her husband started competing, his former rev. Jeremiah Wright believes 9/11 was justified, he is affiliated with William Ayres a member of weather underground. The group responsible for many terrorist attacks in the 70’s. I can’t believe democrats are actually considering this candidate. What is happening to this party? not only are the republicans saving the primaries for the Democrat party by not electing this candidate, they are also saving the United States the embarrassment of nominating and anti-American. Thank god for the win Pennsylvania, you can thank the republicans for that one. Maybe we should split the country in half, but we all know the democrats can’t effectively run a country on their own.. haha

Go McCain

No one can win the nomination or the general election without winning the states that Hillary already won. Obama is toast.

Comment by Dave E

Did anyone else see and hear Sen. Obama describe our Federal government in Washington D.C. as “Status Crow” during his Indiana rally speech Tuesday night 4/22 after losing the Pennsylvania primary? The text of his speech as posted on Fox twice uses the term “status quo”, but in his delivery one of the times he said “status crow”. That’s unfortunate for him. He had me and my wife thinking about old segregationist Jim Crow laws and wondering if he has a current beef with Washington regarding race. Is he too clever or too infused with his Trinity United Church of Christ rhetoric? Freudian slip?

Comment by JC

Ha ha, all of this is just Hillarious.

Neither Dems stand a chance against McCain, as long as educated voters show up in November.

People need to wake up. Barak Obama is clearly leading. He is a great speaker and one of change. This country needs something new and fresh because the others that have been around for a while are not getting anything done. I agree that Clinton should have won PA it is her HOME STATE. GO BARAK!

I love it! “Battle tested” “Can’t close the deal” “Sniper fire” “misspoke” “That’s none of your business” “I won’t play your games” “For the first time I am proud…” The Democratic Party is so entertaining. God help us if it ever gets to the point where we just can’t change the channel.

Comment by Patrick Blythe

The headline leading to this story (”Clinton’s 10 percent victory in Pennsylvania “) converts a 9.3% win into a “double digit” victory. In a political environment where pundits proclaim a double digit victory as a requirement for Hillary to stay in the race, your erroneous headline makes the reader believe the goal was achieved. The actual margin of victory was 9.337%.

Comment by Diane M

If she can’t really beat Obama and he is leading in every aspect of this campaign, how can she have the audacity to claim she can beat McCain?

Comment by Evelyn

I think we can safely assume that John McCain will be the next President. It is evident reading blogs like this that Hillary has driven a wedge between her and Obama supporters and that we will not recover from this. It’s interesting how you are all so quick to believe the slanderous accusations her campaign has made against Obama and overlook the many skeletons (literally) in the Clinton’s closet.

Comment by Susan

The way I see it… Mr. Obama… you have NOT earned the nomination yet. Senator McCain did earn his nomination… but until one of you actually reaches 2025 earned delegates or is nominated at the convention you are not the presumptive nominee. Go read the rule book. You are both in the running for the nomination until you get 2025 delegates. Tell your surigates to stop pressuring Senator Clinton to get out. This country has 50 states and ALL 50 states should have a voice in this and every election.

She should’ve swept PA. She only got 81 delegates. That’s not going to do anything to his lead. She’s quick to say a win is a win, but is trying to discount all of the states he won. If a win is a win, she needs to give up, because obviously he’s busting her ass!!!!

Why was Hillary asking for more money when she was out spent 3:1 and still won? Why does she tell the middle class americans that are struggling to make their mortgage payments, credit card payments, put food on their table, price of fuel and still asks these people to send some of there money so she can keep her dream alive? She is here to fix the crisis’s we are in but she needs your money up front in order for her to do this!! Both canidates are doing this I understand but she said it in her speech last night in the same breath.

Basically what I got from her is: I am broke, all of you are broke but you send me whatever you can and I will “try” and fix this for you. No guarantee’s but I will work for you hard everyday!! Sounds like every CEO that I know!! Top gets richer and everyone else stuck being bottom feeders. American’s wake UP!!

IF Michigan and Florida votes had been counted, Hillary would be in the lead right now instead of Obama. IF Florida votes had been counted correctly 8 years ago, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in now. Al Gore would have been in office when the terrorists attacked New York City in 2001. Things would definitely have been different. We aren’t over there to get rid of the terrorists, it is all about the oil. And what are we as the American Public gaining from this? Nothing. NADA. Higher oil prices equates to higher everything. We don’t even have a middle class anymore. We need the Democratic Party to quit squabbling between themselves and unite together to put the ONLY choice in office…………..Hillary Clinton. She has the experience, and she has a husband who has been there before to help her! GO HILLARY!!!!!

Give me your money and I will work hard for you. I need you, the voters and supporters to keep pulling for me. If I get the nomination and Presidency I will work for you on day one. Democrats are starting to wise up about Obama. They would have wised up a lot sooner if the media had avoided their embarrassing swoon-fest over his “charisma.” I thought Obama had potential early on, even though I never considered voting for him because at this time he simply has NO qualifications or experience to be President of this country. Now he has become even less impressive. He has a difficult time when he’s unscripted and has to say anything more profound than shallow phrases such as “turn the page to a new chapter” and “change for tomorrow.” It is becoming increasingly clear to everyone but the most die-hard Obama “fans” that if he is our candidate, Democrats have virtually no chance of winning in November.

Either way, Clinton still has a great shot at being picked by the Superdelegates at the convention…oh btw, folks, if you add in Florida and Michigan Clinton win’s by a superior number to mr. whiny pants Obama. Either way, Clinton is by far from this Republican view is more electible than Obama who thinks due to the economy we turn to Jesus and guns!?

OPERATION CHAOS is a SUCCESS!

Dumb democrats, keep up the fighting. Hillary is the one to go up against McCain. Just imagine it 2 old people (just make sure there’e enough Ensure and Billary takes her hormone pills for the hot flashes and mood swings), one pushing a Bush 3rd term and the other pushing a Clinton 3rd term.

Great, America don’t want change. We like more of the same. War War and more War, Foreclosure Foreclosure and more Foreclosure, Higher gas prices Higher gas prices and finally $5 a gallon gas prices. PLEASE STRENGTHEN Clinton’s NAFTA agreements of the past that put so many Americans in the unemployment line. PLEASE MORE NAFTA.

No We Can’t 2008!

Wow, what an uninspiring November election we are going to have.

Thanks dumb democrats for heeding Operation Chaos!!!

The truth is out there. Truth is Obama is the democratic party’s nominee. If Hillery steals it by trickery, she can’t beat McCain. If 1/2 of Hillery’s PA supporters went to McCain and 1/2 stayed home McCain might squeak out a win in November over Obama. If Obama picks up 1/2 Hillery’s PA supporters He takes PA. in November. I don’t think those states will go to McCain. So I guess we will be stuck in the same ole rut afterall. Another racist, radical, inexperienced guy who is so foolish that he actually wants to give the country back to the people. We the people. Wait a minute. That isn’t really change. That is fundamental. That’s real old school.

I guess you can put any label on him you want. Deal is he would do a good job as president. We want change. He can make it happen. Anybody can beat McCain. He is old, weak, and wants to go to war with everybody.

BIG STATES!!!!….NY and California will go to the Dems, even if Hill’s cat runs!!!!!!! Who is she kidding. Get it straight….she is losing in Pledged, States and Pop Vote……she doesn’t get it…no one in PA even knew who OBama was 6 months ago and the Clintons have been around since “dirt” There is hidden anology in there somewhere!!!

Thanks to Rush, American saw voters cross over and vote for Clinton. This has left a false impression on how people really will vote in November. I just hope it does not backfire on the Demo’s in November when those same cross overs will not support Clinton but vote for McCain
Shame on Rush

Hillary won PA for 1 reason, we know she will not beat McCain in the General election… why would we actually want someone with no morals or integrity to lead our nation.

Hillary won her hoime state of Pennsylvania and you would think she won Illinois. How can she possibly really think this makes a difference. This Billary team are nut’s especially husband Bill. Do we waqnt to see this ego self serving couple in the white house again. This is not the nineties. Please INDIANA and NORTH CAROLINA go big for Obama and lets put this in fighting to bed. I think the fact she is trying portray Bin Laden and Obama as related situations is the ultimate negative attack of all beyond the just trying to win the nomination.

HILLIARY 08…

If Obama’s association with the Rev Wright and his church, his association with a known terrorist, his wife’s comment had been known before the 10 states he won in a row….my guess is there is no way he would not have won ANY of those states. There is no doubt in my mind that there are people who wish they could change their vote to Hiliary and will always feel duped by this man. This is obviously the reason he has lost the last three states. There are way too many people wearing rose-colored glasses.

Super Delegates please put an end to this Obama madness once and for all. Hillary is the best candidate that can win back the White House. Stop spinning the wheel and allocate your vote for Hillary.

I think it this article shows us how America has really changed in the last 70 years. Becoming President was such a grand undertaking. It wasn’t about bad mouthing candidates as much as it was proving how you are better for the position at hand. The article shows us how candidates are now more concerned with becoming the candidate of a certain political group in order to be one of another group. It is merely a game of who can win. It isn’t about becoming the most Powerful and influential person in the world, the figure we are to look up to, like it should be. Why and when did we lose track of what the President is. Why are we so concerned with winning? It isn’t about winning, it is about finding the person best qualified for the most stressful, time consuming, and exhausting job in the World. We should be more concerned about who they are, what they believe in and not what say about other candidates. This may be the problem with a two party system. We have such a disconnect between our Country that we just fight back and forth over who is right. We must remember that in our own mind we, each of us are correct. We need not fight over our opinions, we aren’t going to change someone else’s mind. We go into these political wars with our minds made up, some preconception about what the Country should or shouldn’t do. In reality, we need to worry about unifying ourselves, making a stronger Country, and helping each other out. No more fighting, let’s negotiate and fix the problems we face every day.

It annoys me to know that the American people can be so shallow minded.. Sen. Obama is the perfect man for the job hands down..just look at the delegates… And all you guys say is that he has no background…of course not he’s only in his mid forty’s but he knows where we’re all coming from.. He sees things our way and he will be our next president

Senator Clinton leaves the impression that if she does not win the nomination that ALL the people who voted for her would not vote for Obama.

So Clinton is from PA? So how did she become the Senator from New York?

I’m confused, and I’m a pretty smart guy…

To Joseph Browning… and others for that matter…

If Obama has no substance, yet his and Clinton’s policies are very similar, even by her own admission, wouldn’t that mean that she has no substance either?

As for electability… when the dems stop fighting and more focus is on what McCain’s actual policies.. or lack thereof are, how the hell can any sane person vote for him? Don’t we all agree that Bush messed up the country and that McCain wants to continue with the same policies? If your hatred of Obama…or for Obama supporters, hatred of Clinton runs so deep that we will continue 4 more years of hell… you might be a communist. But I digress.

Is there a maytag repariman out there. The Spin cycle has gone all out of whack.

All of the remaining candidates are electable - they are all still getting votes.

And on the Dem side. They are getting record numbers out. In fact, in many of the large states the vote has been close enough that both candidates beat previous votes recieved than previous primary years…….

Campaign or should I say Complain season way to long anymore. They need to allow all of the delagates to campaign for 3 months, then hold all States Primaries on the same day.

It is in the best interests of the Democratic Party to ensure the contest goes on until the Convention. Let all the states have their say, even Michigan and Florida. Even if it takes money to keep Hillary going. It is as much psychology, as substance, lest you be blind. Each must make their case, only then, shall it be fulfilled. A bird at hand, is worth two in the bush.

Think about this Hillary supporters, you say you wont vote for John McCain if Barrack wins the nomination, well if Hillary steals the nomination from Obama when he will lead in delegates and most likely in the popular vote at the end of June 3rd. Believe me a great majority of Obama supporters will not vote for Hillary or will stay home more then you Hillary supporters if Barrack wins the nomination. Get used to McCain being president Hillary supporters all because you couldnt get behind Barrack. Four more years of Republican rule with no end in sight with the war in Iraq, and the economy even suffering worse.
