Obama Countdown Clock Set to Ring With Appearance This Week on ‘FOX News Sunday’

Barack Obama has abandoned his more than two-year silent treatment toward “FOX News Sunday,” accepting an invitation to appear this week on the national morning talk show.

The Democratic presidential candidate’s appearance will end a 772-day record of refusing to sit down for an interview.

FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace said the decision to launch a “count-up” clock may have helped encourage Obama’s decision to be a guest.

“We started the clock a month ago at 730 days. This Sunday it will be up to 772 days and the conversation about Obama coming on got a lot more serious after we started the count down, or the count up,” Wallace said.

He added that an Obama campaign aide had called the clock “obnoxious” when it first aired on March 16, 2008.

“It may have been obnoxious but it was also effective,” Wallace said.

Last Sunday, the Obama clock was past 765 days, 13 hours, 54 min and 47 seconds by the end of the show. Since then, Obama lost the Pennsylvania primary to Hillary Clinton by 10 points, the first primary to be held since the clock aired. The two candidates face off next in North Carolina and Indiana on May 6.

Wallace said if Obama had won Pennsylvania, he may not have accepted the invitation.

“If he had won he’d probably on a Caribbean island this weekend. The fact that he’s going to be on Sunday television and on FOX News may be an indication he figures he has to reach out to working-class Democrats, moderates and conservative Democrats and FOX News is a good place to do it,” he said.

Clinton last appeared on “FOX News Sunday” on Feb. 3. Obama will pre-tape his appearance on Saturday from Marion, Ind., to appear on local FOX affiliate stations on Sunday morning.  “FOX News Sunday” airs on FOX News Channel at 2 p.m. ET Sundays.

Obama tries to say all the right things depending on the crowd he is addressing. I hope Wallace is able to show him for what he really is. We all have people in our lives that may make others take a second look, but when you are running for President those relationships show who you really are if you have continued a relationship with them. My biggest issue with Obama is that he has literally no experience in dealing with any major issues facing our country and many people don’t see or understand that important point.

Wallace - the next time you have Hillary on please ask her a question for me. When Hillary made up the Sniper Story when she landed in Bosnia, Bill tried to cover her tracks by saying it was late in the day and she was tired. She got the facts wrong because she was tired????How will she be able to handle that important 3am phone call???

Chris, please don’t bring up the flag lapel pin issue.

It makes us Republicans seem like cheap patriots to say that one must wear a flag on their habitus to show their love their country.

McCain doesn’t bother wearing a flag on his lapel, and it will just sound hypocritical to ask Obama this question while not asking McCain (or Clinton).

Chris
Are you going ask Obama about is Rezko connection and Nadhmi Auchi? Please don’t be like CNN and MSNBC and only ask questions that Obama can say “Hope” and “Change” in. Please don’t kiss is backside like Chris Mathews. Play “Hard Ball” FOX style.

Explain something to me, Do the party elders really believe that the normal American “Joe” really votes with regard to party affiliation, We vote for the best, Most qualified person..
Maybe back in the 30″s Republican,Democrat, meant something,, nowadays It doesn’t.
If the candidate I wish to win doesn’t, I will vote for the next best Person, Be them Republican or not,,, You might pass this on to Pelosi and Dean……

Operation Chaos is a complete success. That being said, there is no way I’m voting for any of the major candidates running. Our country is in serious danger of falling apart and none of the three major candidates running have any idea how to fix it.

if it were live rather than taped, i think chris wallace would get more to the heart of the matter!

I always listen to what politicians have to say so I can feel as good as I can about the vote choice I make in November.
Truely though, I have listened to Obama and I hear “Change” preached but no logical plan to get there. If a logical plan is presented, I could not trust it to be truthful because I have heard the tap dance of “…just words.”. I have heard comments from him that have put down other Americans and thier values.
I too began to listen to him…and get caught up in the whirlwind of a new type of approach and began to believe him…but then seen the dirty politics, the mud slinging and question Obama’s love of this country from what he exhibits and words he and his wife have said.
I would watch the debate with Chris Wallace because of his talants interviewing people. The Obama bomb has exploded already though leaving a mess of questions and doubts that has swayed my hand towards a different ballet.
If there is doubt then there is questions but if one opens thier mouth like it has happened, the doubt can be removed.

This is my first time as a voter and I will vote for for Hillary because at least I know who she is and I know her baggage, she has been in the public eye for many years. However, if Obama is the nominee I will vote for McCain even though it’s a little scary to know that a guy like him will be in charge of our country. I believe the Obama alternative is worse, we don’t know anything about him and his cohorts pounce on those that question him or his associations. I really feel he is an EMPY SUIT and that he is using this race to manipulate this country and swing hard to the left when he slips into the white house. God help us all!!

KLS79,,,,,I completely agree with you! My family and I have completely STOPPED WATCHING CNN because they have been favoring Obama! The news stations should be reporting the truth, not keeping it in the closet because they support that politician!
I watch Fox News all the time now!
Obama is not going to answer any questions, he will probably repeat the “same old politics” (as he is accusing Hillary of) by dancing around a direct answer to those questions he has been complaining about from the last debate!
And I don’t want to hear how those questions were not necessary, because they were!
Why would America want a President that shares the views and opinions of this crazy Pastor?
All Obama has to do is just answer the questions directly with a yes or no! But, HE WON”T!!!!
I do realize that anyone who has continued to hold their vote for Obama, really needs to go back and check him out, for real! This isn’t just the Pastor, it is Obama’s own words!
He needs to just quit the race, and go home!
