After reading the comments against Obama and Wright, It's no wonder we're in Iraq. The message was "PEACE"people, and being different is not deficient, no mattter what the color of your skin, no matter what your religion, no matter what your gender, no matter what height or weight, etc. Some of you really need a human education cause you don't get it. you're so scare.
As Gandhi said, "the world is big enough for all of us".

As for Reverend Wright, a fair judgement of the sermon requires listening to or reading the entire sermon and what events or situations inspired him to present it. We must remember that Reverand Wright is not Obama and Obama is not Reverend Wright. Do we let what the leaders of our country say, or do, or act define who we are when their actions undermind human rights and is contrary to that which provides for the general good of all humanity. When that happens does that mean we should give up our citizenship and go somewhere else. Just up and leave our community as was suggested to Obama. As I recall, Jesus associated with sinners yet he, himself, never sin. Also Jesus did not abandoned the sinner but instead saved them, loved them, and asked them to follow him for he is the way, the truth, and the life. Do we have the courage to follow Jesus example by reaching out to others and helping them transform their lives to a greater good.

As for bitterness and resentfulness, it certainly is easy to become that way if the good that has been promised after several years does not happen. Even if we find comfort in religion, family and friends, it is difficult to remain hopeful and to dispell our bitterness because of the limitations that prevent the good that we desire. However, if we rid ourselves of our bitterness and resentfullness and instead challenge ourselves to do the best we can with what we have, we will discover that good and wonderful changes will occur to better our lives and that of the world. As Obama has pointed out, we don't need to play games, we just need to unite and work together for the common good of all.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at some of these comments.

What part of Rev. Wright's speech was not true?

America has blood on it's hands.

I love this country but the truth is the truth.

I have to chuckle with amusement whever we hear yet another call for impeachment of Bush.. How do you impeach when there is no impeachable offense and no charges have been brought ?? Democrats have had the Congressional majority for a year and a half now and have filed no charges.. ------ Rochelle has displayed faulty logic by saying that because Obama had a white mother and was partially raised by white grandparents that he is somehow immune from being racially motivated.. One does not necessarily include or exclude the other. -- Obama is being exposed as someone who has made some poor choices in his selection of friends, business associates, mentors, and his race baiting pastor and church.. One or 2 bad choices may be excusable, but not an entire adult life of them.. The voters have not only the right but the responsibility to question and examine whoever campaigns to be their leader.. Obama does not appear qualified..

Rev. Wright is a wonderful human being. He has done God's work for over 20 years. I know that it is hard to hear the truth-but Rev. Wright speaks the gospel. He is a great speaker who speaks the truth. I hope that Rev. Wright will be able to participate in Mr. Obama's presidential innaguation. They are both very spiritual and are role models for the country.

I believe Rev Wight should keep religion out of politics and quit judging people. He should keep his nose out of this race. There is not attack on the black church , just him for what he is saying

Looks like the Reverend missed the entire thing. I feel people are up in arms over his comments because we love our country and do not like racism. Reverend Wright preaches hatred of American and hatred of whites/Italians, etc.

There is always a 'right' way and and 'wrong' way to say something - in this case, Reverend Wright's hatred of America and racism and the way he expresses them are simply 'wrong'. His claim he is not a politican is baloney!!!!!! Ever seen a Church that does not run on money? What about his new dwellings at the cost of that Church?

Perhaps he needed to make this speech to keep the IRS out of the front door of Trinity .....!!!!!!!!!!

"Rev" Wright is certainly not doing the LORD's work but rather the work of the enemy. His aim is to prowl around seeking to destroy America and race relations between Americans. Wake up people, if Barack Obama becomes president all the progress made in race relations will be set back. Wright has already said that he will be on Obama to heap guilt on white America and seek reparations. Ironically, most Americans are the offspring of immigrants who came to this country after the Civil War and had nothing to do with slavery. Another point to ponder, Wright is no friend of Israel and Israel is our closest ally. And a note to college students in the Obama camp: Just wait until you get your first job and have to pay 50% of your salary to subsidize those who won't work. Why should they? Life is too good when someone else is paying!

"Different does not mean deficient", "Blacks are left brained, Whites are right brained", "Blacks learn differently than Whites", "Blacks should not be measured by the same yardstick as Whites", If the Rev. Wright really believes all this and it happens to be true, why have we put such an effort into sending our children to the same integrated school systems? If he is right, and there is so much difference in the races, wouldn't it be in their best interest to educate them separately?

Does Barrack Obama believe what The Rev. Wright is saying and if he does, does he have plans to re-segregate the public institutions should he be elected president?

Wow, what an impressive speech the Rev made. It is refreshing to hear truth; not like these so called "Politically Correct" churches of today. As scripture says, the truth will set you free.

Comment by bitter american
April 28th, 2008 at 10:54 am
How he can say with a straight face that he disavows the despicable comments made by this ‘reverend’ yet continued to listen for 20 years defies logic.

He can the same way a president can say, "Browning you're doing a fantastic job! "We're not in a recession, we're in a slow-down." "Stay the course because there were reports of weapons of mass destruction.

If we can disavow these comments and still listen for 8 years without impeaching; why can't we?

Obama has been brought up by his White mother and White grandparents. What about what they have taught. Do you not think that his family were his first and primary teaching about his beliefs? Obama has a half White and Asian sister that he is close to. How can he be racist.

I already posted a comment last night that was apparently not entered here.
Now again after the Rev has made another speach this morning at the Q and A press confernce, I can only reiterate how ridiculous he is with his racist and hypocritical ranting. I also am deeply disturbed that anyone is still listening.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright was too kind in delivering the sermon addressed to the members of the Naacp of Detroit and media.

He forgot to mention that most white americans being "constitutionally incapable", don't have the ability to understand real gospel.

It is unfortunate that a man/woman have to be judged by the comments of his/her pastor. Hell, if that..................................
=============================================================
Lorna, if you are such an astute biblical scholar, how do you explain the scripture that states, "bad companions will corrupt good morals" where it relates to the relationship of OBabble to Big Bad Mouth Wright and OBabbles potential for the ultimate destruction of our way of life?? The Word does not cut any slack with this scripture, there is no, maybe, might, could, should, it emphatically states that the morals will be corrupted. So, I submit that OBabble has the same agenda that Big Mouth has. There are countless others that address the tenents of love, forgiveness, homosexuality, pervision, deceit, guile, and faithfulness to ones spouse. But then I guess you know these as well as you know about the moral issue, yes??

In so far as a playdown or bashing of your remarks, I wouldn't do that, it is just that I am a 70 year old, conservative, independant, mixed ethenic, patriotic veteran and was very disturbed, not so much at the rantings of a raving lunitic, as I was at the clapping, carrying on of the congregation.

I have attended many churches of color in my lifetime and have never heard such garbage from the mouth of the minister so I do contend with your position that Big Bad Mouth Wright is just telling it like it is, I believe that he is telling it like you want to hear it, and in so doing is reaping his reward right now, right here, on earth, and what he is preaching has nothing to do with Christianity.

And that is not being judgemental, scripture states that "as you sow, so shall you reap"/ I suspect BBMW is well on the way to reaping what he has sown.

GOD can forgive him I do not think I will be able to, and then that is between GOD and me, isn't is

Obama needs to hold an emergency meeting with Howard Dean and Hillary Clinton and strike a deal for VP TODAY!

They both have problems controlling the mouths of their supporters. The party can not stand for any more primaries with distractions. This is the very thing Clinton has hoped for as she prolongs the race.

This has to end and both come out with their hands joined and held up high and end the race and be on 1 ticket or they will hand the presidency to the Republicans.

As of yet I have not heard anyone discussed the message in Mr. Wright's speech which is, that we need to eliminate bias and inequities from our midst in order to pass on a better world to our children. The fact that every kind of opinions and conclusions have been drawn with little or no acknowledgement of the man's call to change, shows how powerful the traits of societal imbalance are, and how it governs the human race, STILL! Imagine a world of purer souls and kinder hearts.

I have posted many times to Fox boards and they never post. I am sure that this is happening to many posters, particularly if you have anything negative to say about the current administration. I know for a fact that I did not use any threatning or dangerous language, but I do go about pointing out certain well known truths that seem to mysteriously trigger the censors at Fox to keep those post from appearing. I know this one will not make it either, but I am writing to let you know that I know and so do a lot of others. What this tells us is that there are a whole lot of people who are in agreement with these views and it is important for you to make sure those views do not appear mainstream. I am willing to bet for every post you get in the negative of Rev Wright, you recieve an overwhelming number of positives about Rev. Wright. You do try and make it seem as though there are a few "lefties" in the world by letting a few post in, but the reality must scare the pants off of you guys as I am sure without doubt that a majority of people see your station and your views for what they truly are. You can't piss on people for years and tell them that its raining, even racist and so called blue collar white people (oh thats a rich description if I ever heard one) are feeling the effects of the failed policys of the current administration. We are all paying through the noses to live and watching the fleecing of America. You got plenty of dumbasses who simply hate so much that they will follow your networks bias, you know how to talk to them, how to scare them, how to make them feel that its everybody else fault, but they are waking up. They are starting to see they are getting more screwed than ever before, and they can't even go to the govt they elected for help.
Oh what a tangled web you have helped weave, much to your own self destruction....
