Obama’s Test: Will Offensive Against Wright Pay Off in the Primaries?

Barack Obama went on a new offensive against his former pastor Tuesday, calling the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.’s remarks “appalling” and effectively breaking ties with him.
Obama used his strongest language to date to denounce Wright at a time when he’s still struggling to shake Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary race. Looking ahead to the nine remaining contests, analysts say Obama’s move could either pay dividends for the Illinois senator and douse the Wright controversy — or backfire.
“People are going to say that Barack Obama should have done this a long time ago, but what’s important in a political campaign is that you have done the right thing, and I think most Americans would agree that Barack Obama now has done that,” Democratic strategist Steve Murphy told FOX News.
Obama spoke at length about Wright between campaign stops in North Carolina. He said he was “outraged” by Wright’s remarks the day before at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
“All it was was a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth,” Obama said, putting substantial distance between himself and the pastor, whose sermons put Obama’s campaign in a near-crisis state last month.
The last time Obama addressed the Wright controversy in such detail was March 18 in Philadelphia. But at the time, he said Wright still was “like family” and that he could not disown him. Wright officiated at Obama’s wedding, and one of his sermons was the inspiration for the title of Obama’s book “The Audacity of Hope.”
Obama’s language was much tougher Tuesday, and he repeatedly said Wright wasn’t the same man he had met 20 years ago before joining Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.
Former Bill Clinton adviser and columnist Dick Morris said Obama’s stand Tuesday was a “good move,” because Wright continued to threaten his non-racial image as “a guy running for president who happened to be dark-skinned.”
“Wright has become the poster child for everything that white Americans fear in a black politician or pastor,” he said.
But Morris warned that Obama could still be held “hostage” by any member of his church’s congregation who might claim to have seen Obama listening to Wright’s controversial sermons.
Wright attracted criticism for telling his congregation that the government was responsible for afflicting the black community with HIV and for suggesting America provoked the Sept. 11 attacks with its foreign policies.
“Isn’t politics fun?” Morris added. “A couple months ago Obama was trying to prove he wasn’t a Muslim, and now the more he can prove that he doesn’t go to church, the better he’s going to do.”
Another trouble spot for Obama could be that he reacted in large part to what he saw as a personal affront by Wright. Obama said he was “angered” by Wright’s suggestion that he was engaging in political posturing by denouncing his sermons.
“What seems to be most insulting to him was that he was insulted by Rev. Wright, more than the comments that some people see as being unpatriotic,” Democratic strategist Kirsten Powers said.
Conservative critics continued to hammer Obama on Tuesday for staying with the church for nearly two decades, and again questioned whether he was really unaware of Wright’s controversial views before he spoke out on them.
Roll Call Editor Mort Kondracke said Obama now risks more backlash from Wright, thereby prolonging the unwelcome attention.
“It would not do Obama any good if Wright comes back and starts having a fight with Obama,” he said. “I’m not convinced it’s the end of the story.”
Wright has in fact shown a new willingness to take on the media, and to challenge Obama, over the public treatment of his sermons.
Wright, whose remarks first stirred national controversy more than a month ago, broke his silence on the matter Friday in an interview on PBS. He followed up with an appearance at an NAACP dinner in Detroit and then his address Monday before the National Press Club.
There he taunted reporters and claimed the furor over his sermons was an attack on the black church.
Obama disputed that Tuesday and said Wright only caricatured himself.
Even before Wright’s public appearances, the issue was gnawing at Obama’s campaign. At the Philadelphia debate before the Pennsylvania primary, Obama again endured questions about his ties to his former pastor. And the North Carolina GOP produced an ad last week that hit Obama for his relationship with Wright.
It is unclear whether Clinton will raise the Wright issue again before the May 6 primaries in Indiana and North Carolina. As the controversy developed, the New York senator eventually made Wright a point of her campaign, saying she would not have stayed in the church if Wright were her pastor.
It’s also not clear whether Obama is considering leaving his church. He said Tuesday he was still a member, but that his relationship with the church has been strained as a result of the Wright controversy.
“When I go to church it’s not for spectacle. It’s to pray and to find to find a stronger sense of faith. It’s not to posture politically. It’s not to hear things that violate my core beliefs … and I certainly don’t want to provide a distraction to those who are worshiping at Trinity,” he said.
“As of this point I’m a member. I haven’t had a discussion with Reverend [Otis] Moss (the current minister) about it so I can’t tell you how he’s reacting and how he’s responding.”

Obama is finished. There is no way this guy should be nominated. He will sink the Dem party.
Go Hillarrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Obama is just speaking as a politician. He will never really denounce his pastor or shall I say his mentor. He will always have ties to him. He lost my vote. I voted for him in Texas but I will not vote for him in the general election. And as a delegate I will not vote for him. this man cannot be trusted…
Obama no credibility and does believe in Black Theology. We will never elect this man.
How can Obama be finished off of someone else’s words???
He didn’t say anything his pastor did, I have two uncles that are and I don’t dare leave the church while they are speaking.
This is way different from being shot at by sniper fire!!!!
Obama was very genunine and finally did put this to bed, and did so very well. Now, hopefully we can all move on and the media will move on…I am so tired of hearing about this. Are we going to get to hear more about what the candidates are planning to do about $4/gallon gas? I never hear about any of the important issues any more…only Wright 24/7. Enough or I’ll tune out!
Obama-too little-too late. We don’t believe you. Your credibility and judgement disqualifies you for president.
FINALLY OBAMA HAS SHOT HIMSELF IN THE FOOT. IF HE WINS THE NOMINATION NOW THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE IS TRYING TO LOSE TO THE REPUBLICANS.
GO HILLARY ‘08!!!!!
If Obama cares at all about this country,
he must step aside. There is absolutely no way,
under any circumstances, that he can win
in November after this …
I think Obama is finished. He should of distanced himself years ago from Rev Wright. My vote is for Hillary!!
Sorry Kwame, but the Billary is NOT going to win! I’m Obama no matter what, but if The Hill Billary gets the nomination, McCaine will win!
Obama will say whatever he has too, and whatever you want to hear.
Martin Luther King is rolling over in his grave right now! The racial gap is wider than ever, thanks to Rev. Wright, Louis Farrakhan and Jesse Jackson. They get the blacks riled up against “Whitey” and the United States of America more than ever! If anyone is “prejudiced” it is the black race! When will there be a “White Expo”, “White Miss America” pagent, “Association of White Coaches”, “Association of White Women Journalists”, “United Caucasian College Fund”, etc.?
I had a friend who was of a particular religion all his life. One Sunday the pastor began making ugly remarks about gays. My friend got up and walked out of that church. That’s what one does when one disagrees with one’s pastor.
Don’t know if he is finished. He will not only sink the Dem party but with it the whole country.
obama waited a day to see the polls, he is sinking fast. he is trying to do damage control now. obama chose to listen to this hate speech for over 2 decades, obviously he must have agreed with it.
I believe this move to denounce Rev Wright will help Barack and the American people will agree. Barack finally has cutt ties with his former pastor, especially after being patient with him and giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he crossed the line and it was time to cut ties. This is the kind of leader we need as President. Go Obama!!!!!!!!!!
Obama will win. Reverend Wright is only a matter of the media who continuously report him as if the world really cares. He will win my state’s primary next week and will clinch the North Carolina’s the week after.
You should give him a break . This man has nothing to do with those comments .But no matter what is going to be done , he is still leadind in the polls . GO obama
“If Barack gets past the primary, he might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Wright told the newspaper with a shrug in April 2007. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said, ‘Yeah, that might have to happen.’ ”
“I’m gonna have to distance myself from you now Uncle Jeremiah…(wink, wink)”
I wouldn’t say he is finished. He denounced this man and his believes. Barack should not be blamed for this “Reverends” comments or believes. He denounced them and shouldn’t be held responsib;e for what someone else has to say about white people or “Europen-Americans” Barack obviously doesn’t agree with his desegregation upon races. I would say more now than ever Barack does stand a chance because he publically debnounced this mans “hate” for our country and the people who live in it. This is exactly what he needed to do to WIN this campaign
If Obama manages to alleviate voters’ concerns about Wright, can he do so with Ayers?
What if this whole thing is about the 10,000 square foot house and the $10 Million Line of Credit at Reverend Wright’s disposal. I think that Reverend Wright is mad at Obama for messing with a “good thing”. Not since Jim and Tammy Baker has a minister scored so well, from a grass roots church. I think that Reverend Wright wants to be a Black Billy Graham, or the next Martin Luther King. Pack those stadiums with $40 a seat Christians, and “pass the plate!”. Sorry Reverend Wright - you will never be like Dr, King or Billy Graham.
What if the Clinton’s are behind the Reverend Wright Stampede? This could be the equal to the Swift Boat ordeal that sunk Kerry. I think some research is in order.
“Wright has become the poster child for everything that white Americans fear in a black politician or pastor,” he said.
Now substitute the word suspected for the word fear…
Obama did right things today. but, it was too late and too little. i never bought that Obama never head ther coments of Mr. Wright about AIDS and 911 as well as divissive comments. there will be more people who will come out and prove that Obama was in the church when Mr. Wright was doing racial divvisive speechs. you will see for sure.
I used support Obama. but not any more
I wish we can put the Rev. Wright issue behind us. It’s unfair to characterize and demonize Obama based on the comments his pastor made. What kind of society will be if we were all judged based on comments made by our former pastor? It’s fine if you choose not to vote for Obama. But please judge him on his merits, his policies and the content of his character. NOT his pastor’s comments or the color of his skin. We are a better country than that.
Obama is a thoughtful, intelligent man who will make a great president. He’s human. He is not running a dirty campaign. It’s time we moved on to other issues such as the war in Iraq, unemployment and the economy.
Obama ‘08
Either Obama has embraced a religion of hate and bigotry for many years, or he is too blind to see it among all of the racists that populate his “Black Church”. Neither scenario plays well for the next president of our great country. The fact that he conveniently throws Mr. (I will never concede such a bigot is a “reverend”) Wright under the same bus that he threw his grandmother just adds to the problem. On top of everything else, Obama proves he is just as sleazy as either Clinton.
It ain’t over ’till the fat lady sings….
This is no more “over” than the war in Iraq is “over”.
Wright continues to dig his own hole deeper.
Stick aroun’ sweet pea….
Obama did what He had to do. I believe his steps have been ordered.
The more I think about this, is Barak Obama going to be duped by Syria? Iran? North Korea? If he is duped by Rev. Wright, is he going to learn from his huge mistake, or is he going to bring it into the White House. He needs to convince the American people that this has been an exercise where he has learned something of value and won’t be fooled in a much more important (to many millions of people) way by some slick talker.
Kwame-
How do you figure?? - How can one mans actions or words dictate anothers- You are falling into the political trap as most simple people do
He is done.. Go GO HILIARY ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s over and he has no one to blame but himself and his arrogance. His entire campaign has been a farce. He is nothing more then a lying hypocrite and finally he has been exposed. He needs to drop out and if we want any chance at winning back the White House it is time to vote smart and vote Clinton.
He is in a downward Spiral Operation Chaos Strikes Again!!!!!!
Who you associate with is a reflection of your character. MLK said not to judge by the color of one’s skin, but to judge by their character. It’s not about the Rev., but about why Obama has attended his church for the last 20 years and why the Rev. has been Obama’s spirital leader and mentor as well as helping out with his campaign. Obama needs to address this as it is a reflection of his charater. What about the New Black Panther endorsements that was displayed proudly on Obama’s campaign web site and then later removed?
This guy Wright is off the hook. I find it very difficult to believe that in a 20 year spand that Obama did not pick up on some of this guys core radical beliefs. It is interesting to me that Obama only removes himself from this guy under pressure in order to secure the Demacratic nomination. Obama may be saying the right thing now, but his new opinion is based on securing the nomination. It does not reveal what Obama really thinks. A more accurate and telling record is what he has done; namely, that he remained associated with the radical Rev. Wright for 20 years. Remember this guy married Obama and Michelle, baptized their children, and was described as having a ‘family type’ relationship. How many individuals with average or above intelligence would attend a church for 20 years, allow the Pastor to marry you and your spouse, have your children baptized, expose your children to the Pastor’s teaching without having a full understanding of what the Pastor believes or what he is preaching. I don’t think so. Obama is just like the rest of the politicians, you can tell their lying because their lips are moving.
Sure and if you believe that I have a house in chicago and it’s $300,000 off the original asking price.
This is only the beginning.
He did the right thing so let’s get over it
After 20 years, too little to late.
Wright is a slime ball who climbed over the backs of the people he is claiming to have been disenfranchised by America. He better enjoy his mansion here on earth because he won’t have one in heaven. That’s in the Bible.
right…and hillarrr-arious hil/bil hasn’t already sunk the dem party?
Barack Obama is always preaching about how what matters most is being right on day one, not ready like Hillary is. Well Obama is NEITHER, Obama is not right for America and he wasn’t right about Reverend Wright either! Wright was Obama’s mentor and spiritual adviser of 20 some odd years, 20 years, nearly half his entire life people., hello? Wright was the pastor that married Barack and Michelle Obama and Wright baptized Obama’s children! fact. How wrong could Obama be staying so closely associated with this racist, hate mongering preacher for 20 whole years. Those who know Wright have said he has always been like this, so it is safe to conclude Obama was not only WRONG about associating himself with Wright, he also knew all about Wright’s very wrong views of America, Catholics, Italians, Jews and all the others Wright has slandered and denounced. ENOUGH, Vote for Hillary Clinton, it is the only actual right thing to do!
I watched his speech at the NAACP event in Detroit. I must say I’m not religious nor very political, but he brought up many issues that plague the lower classes in America. I’m a white male from Mississippi my parents are republican as well. So i must say I’m not bias in any way.(Well I try not to be..) I don’t see why Obama is finished. This guy, Wright is very famous within the black communities, and Obama went to a Church that thousands of others went to as well. I guess there all finished as well. Reverend Wright is a pasture not a politician. Politics and religion should always stay separate. Honestly this guy Wright for whom I only just found out about has a lot of energy and he speaks from the hart. I never watch religious shows on TV or the internet but this guy really made me think about the world I live in. In my white man opinion for which is of little value to the public or anyone out there, Wright is remarkable and a controversial man, I guess thats why he is so famous…. This will change my vote to Obama forget McCain he’s a good guy and all but my parents just don’t see the world as I do… Change is what we need and I’m young so change is good for me..
Obama your foolishness is over.
Stop pretending that you hate Wright, we are not stupid to believe in your sweet words again.
It just shows that all you wanted is the power to make you and Wright’s hidden motives be realiz.
Shut up both of you
THANKS HILLARY
FIGHT FOR AMERICA!!!!!!
Well said Sen. Obama - I just wish you would have said this sooner. Now it just seems like a political move and not one really based on conviction. I hope this is not the case, but the timing is suspicious.
This is like the movie Casablanca. The Chief of Police shuts down Rick’s Cafe stating that he is shocked that gambling is going on in it. A minute later, a cafe employee runs up to him with a fist full of cash and says, “Your winnings, Sir!”
I wonder if this isn’t a ploy by Senator Obama’s camp to give him enough space to distance himself from Rev Wright without seeming to betray a friendship. It all seems to be just too convenient.
Rev. Wright is hardcore black liberalism and so is Obama. Obama just has to back away from his beliefs and his pastor now to try to keep his “whitey” votes. Remember, he’s a politician and he’ll say whatever he has to say. Thats what his preacher said.
I think this is all a scam to get pity for Obama. This is all parties involved that are in on it.
Please “MOVE ON” for five years we have been fightinh not one but two wars, our economy is in shambles, gas prices are unrelenting and the media seems not to care because they feed us this Rev. Wright stuff all day and distract the american people with this garbage while american soldiers die and people strugle day in and day out. leave Obama alone already either he or Hillary will be better than Mcain, and please FOX NEWS stop doing the Republicans bidding..
its a total setup. once obama loses you’ll see him being good ol pals with wright again. they just knew that he was damaging his campaign so they set this up so obama could try to reverse everything. too late obama, we can see right through it.
How expedient to NOW reject his black liberation theology pastor. How arrogant to think that voters will not recognize this desperate attempt to disengage from his beloved pastor, mentor, etc.. He will never be able to explain his association with this group. Obama knew for the past 20 years that this group stood for things that many Americans believe to be unpatriotic. I think this church group is too radical for most Americans and Obama has been indoctrinated with this theology for years, as well as his family. He is NOT right for America!
Obama spent twenty years listening and agreeing with the racist, anti-semetic, and anti-American preacher, and he never had a disagreement before? I’ve been listening to the TV program on at 7:30 a.m. Sunday mornings on TV 1. Rev.(?) Moss preaches the same anti-white trash.
Also lets not forget the ties to Islam on all sides or his close association with a terrorist. Obama will ripe this country apart, and I’m afraid it’s too late to stop that no matter if he wins or loses.
Lets also remember his anti-American wife who has always been ashamed of America and thinks she should have had a free education. God help America!
Let me ask Obama the questions the news won’t ask or let him side step answers to them!
Senator Obama’s too little too late public criticism of his pastor for the past 20 years is just that 20 years too late. Remaining a member of a church or organization which spews racial bigotry and bias is absurd. Reverend Wright finally said something I agree with…..Senator Obama must publically disagree with him because he is a politician….. why else would he have stood by Reverend Wright all this time.
If by some fate Senator Obama is elected as President his true ideas for change will then be made public and it will be more closely aligned with that of his long time uncle and friend Reverend Wright.
Senator, I do smell what you are cooking and the smell offends me as much of one of my 22 month old’s son’s diapers.
evil companions corrupt good manners.
NOPE!!
It’s a little late for apologies and repudiation. What BO should have done was walk out of church when this loon starting preaching the “gospel.” All BO’s words can’t excuse the 20 years he spent supporting the hatred & anti-americanism that was at the heart of this “church.” All this goes a long way in explaining the disrespect BO has displayed toward the symbols and traditions of America. It also explains some of the things his wife has said. It’s amazing to me that the democratic party would allow someone who obviously harbors deep resentment towards this country to rise to the highest levels of the party. It doesn’t speak well of the party as a whole. It’s too bad the Republicans couldn’t come up with a better candidate than McCain. No matter, he’ll still get my vote. I’m sure John doesn’t hate America.
Obmama is now seeing the collapse of his political run for Pres. …Hillery will now start to move up … Mcain will blow her off the ballot !!!!
Obama is the Greatest Leader and Politician to come after decades and if America does not recognise that it will be a great shame and a loss to the country.
There should be a press ban on Rev Wright and the press is equally responsible for fanning this divisiveness in the country.
This is so sad to see a pastor , leader of a flock, of act such a way !!!!! If he was a WHITE man saying all of this…. He would have been stoned to death….. It is so terrible that any man saying he knows Christ acts this way …. What about Love your neighbor? God Forgive them for they know not what they do!!!!!
Oh how the mighty have fallen. . .
Looks like his “chickens have come home to roost”.
Wright’s one of those old guys that’s angry from his era. He will be calling Obama The “House Boy” next, because down deep he hates white people and always will, thinks all white people are evil. It’s not white people keeping black people down it’s black people keeping black people down.
he waited to long to do this. This was the same remarks he has been making for a while, nothing new, except now he called Obama a politician that will say anything.
Sink the Democrat Party??????
They are already sunk, because of Obama AND Hillary
I never cared much about the influence of the Wright story.. until now. Obama appears to be a bad judge of character. Do I trust him with the Iranian President?
Jeremiah Wright is nothing but a black racist loudmouth!
Obama’s “Chickens have come home to … ROOST!!!!”
Yep the Rev. and Obama are playing us. It is the same old game. They are on their game!
pathetic!
Why have the Real Clear Politics (RCP) Average polls not been updated and displayed? Are they bad for Obama?
Is this guy for real? You don’t go to a church for twenty years (and still remains a member by the way) and suddenly say that he doesn’t believe that way because he is suddenly running for president. When are people going to wake up and pay attention to his radical background? A leopard doesn’t just shed it’s spots. Obama is dangerous!!!
The O will do just fine, he has been attacked by his pastor by the media and by Hillary and hes still standing!!! Go OB!!!
One’s character and position amongst his or her peers is determined in large part by the people they associate closely with. If a person wants to appear mainstream, then they want to insure that their friends and associates are mainstream. Obama’s choices of associates eliminates him from qualification to be President of these United States, in my opinion.
Just so Hillary fans don’t get too excited, I don’t feel Hillary ever was qualified to be President of these United States.
John McCain is the only choice left that qualifies to be President of these United States. It is not a game with him. It is called Patriotism!
Obama is most upset by what offends him as personal attacks, not by the vile statements of the “reverend” wright. He was upset that wright was calling him political. Obama should have been most upset over Wright’s evil statements over america, racism against white people, etc. Obama is engaging in what is called false repentance. He’s only trying to save his political career. LOOK FOR FRUITS OF REPENTANCE, NOT ELOQUENCE.
We’re giving Wright way too much credit for any of Obama’s demise. Obama is great at delivering the ‘obvious’ problems with a number of issues that need work very eloquently, but I’m still waiting to hear any solutions and in my opinion, it’s too late. Between the dirt spewing out of Obama’s own mouth about America and his change of heart in accordance to public opinion makes him seem not too trustworthy.
What a nightmare for Senator Obama and the rest of Americans. But this gives us all a glimpse, as most nightmares do; of fears, hatred, and ignorance. But, you can’t tell me Sen. Obama is just waking up from this after 20 years. Certainly he wasn’t in a blissfully oblivious deep sleep all this time while he sat in Rev. Wright’s church? Anyone will tell you, you aren’t suppose to sleep in church. Sen. Obama should have been wide awake and thinkly clearly this is not rhetoric that is constructive and positive for an American and/or Christian society. When you sit there and do nothing when someone says destructive, hateful comments, that is tantamount to agreeing with what is being said. Being the brilliant speaker Sen. Obama is, he should have said something along time ago. Certainly Sen. Obama would have known the right words to say or he could have simply left the church. So now what should we believe, 20 years of saying nothing and passive agreement ……..or 20 minutes on April 29, 2008 of finally denouncing an undisputed important role model and spiritual figure in his life that turns out to be a part of a 20 year nightmare for Sen. Obama from which he refused to wake up?
Kwame
Dont be ridiculous. Who YOU been hanging out with the last 10 years anyway?
This so called “candidate” sat under the “reverend” for 20 years. He knew what he stood for and he never left his “church”. Don’t tell me that was the only time the “reverend” spewed such trash from his mouth! Now, all of a sudden, because it would hurt his career, he’s “denouncing” what this “preacher” said. What a hypocrite! I guess the people are really gullible to believe this.
Obama has shown the worst kind of disgression regarding this issue. He’s “thrown himself under the bus”, along with his grandmother and now the Rev. Wright. It’s good both Wright and Obama have been exposed for the blatantly dishonest, bigoted, condescending men that they are. They’re at the bottom of the list in their respective professions. Obama’s hopes for the presidency have gone up in smoke! He’s toast!
Wright’s comments and more importantly the black communities support and defense of Wright will set back racial relations in this country decades. The ferocity of attacks on Imus stand in stark contrast to Wright…
So when will the next speech be, first it was the race speech now this one, total distraction is all I see I do not trust him and believe him I believe there is more and he should come clean sooner than later, He knew this guy and knew all about him he had to say that speech yesterday to stay in the race it is all about politics to say the right thing at the right time…
What I see in Obama, as in most politicians, is a man who will do or say anything it takes to get himself into the Whitehouse. Even if that means wriggling and changing positions. Even if it means “dissing” those people who he once, recently, felt were “family” to him. I wish America could find someone who would STAND firm on their convictions and never waver for the sake of political gain or, in this case, getting elected. I am one of, what I believe are many, the Americans who are growing increasingly fed up with both parties readiness to do or say whatever it takes to get in office regardless of principle. They are no more than “political prostitutes” in my opinion because they will lay down with any and everyone to achieve their goals and then jump out of bed with them and go to another when it is expedient.
In my opinion, the Democrats are finished. Neither one of the Democratic candidates deserve to be elected as president of the United States of America to represent the AMERICAN people for the next four years.
Of course Barack Obama’s Sister Soulja moment will help. What has to be making the Clinton’s mad is that Bill Clinton’s Sister Soulja moment helped him win the presidency and and the same tactic may help his wifes opponent win as well.
Can you smell the flames of Obama’s campaign right now? This is where you see Hillary pull ahead.
This the right strategy to respond to Wright’s remarks. Moving forward, I hope the American people will accept his honest straightforward response and allow him to carry on the campaign, which he has so successfully been doing. All the best Mr. Obama, stay focussed.
I don’t think he could sink it any furthur than Hillary did with all her negativity. Who can be more two-faced than her.
GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barack why did it take you twenty years to figure out what we all knew in five seconds? Was it that you were out sick every time the good reverend went off the beam? Or was it that you tactily agree with him? I suspect the latter. You’re done.
Politics as usual. Obama decides his pastor after 20 years is a negative factor in his campaign and speaks against him now that it can hurt his votes in Indiana and Carolina. Obama decided it was finally time now? He should’ve done it years ago! Why now? Forget Obama, I’m switching to the Hillary camp now.
Go OBAMA!!!
I don’t think that Obama could sink the party any furthur than Hillary did.
Oh, so now Obama denounces Reverend Wrong, I mean Wright. Why didn’t he do that 20 years ago?? What a fake. McCain 08
Why is Obama now throwing Rev. Wright under the train. For the last 20 years and particularly the last few months he said he would support Wright and his church. There is nothing new in last few days as to what Wright has been saying. Obama seems to be more upset with Wright hurting his image than the hateful rheoric pointed at Americans. I should add that Obama is taking a chance by his criticism of Wright. I’m sure that in the past Obama has supported Wright’s viewpoints. Will his personal mentor, uncle, friend and minister expose a more radical Obama?? Birds of a feather flock together!!
How can someone vote for this guy now is beyone belief. And in the past he was hailed as a great orator. Then why did he stutter all during his speach yesterday?
With only two sides to his mouth, I wonder which end Obama will be speaking from next?
On Monday in a couple of interviews just after Wright was at the national press club dinner, Obama said his comments we’re “NO BIG DEAL.” now 24 hrs. later, he says he was “SHOCKED AND INSULTED.”
And he says Hillary’s not being truthful. this guy is the biggest narcessous i
