McCain Ambushed With Obscene Question at Town Hall Event

Border

An audience member ambushed John McCain on Thursday at an otherwise placid town hall meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, with a surprise question about whether he had ever called his wife by an obscene term.

The man stood up and first said he wanted to ask the Arizona senator about a “mental health and mental health care” concern.

“Previously I had been married to a woman who was very verbally abusive to me,” the man said. He paused and asked, “Is it true that you called your wife a c***?”

The crowd booed, and McCain responded:

“No, no — you don’t wanna, you don’t wanna. You know, it’s a great thing about town hall meetings, sir,” he said. “But we really don’t — there’s people here who don’t respect that kind of language. So I’ll move onto the next questioner in the back.”

Secret Service agents escorted the man out of the building.

The question came out of a new book called “The Real McCain,” by Cliff Schecter, that alleges McCain publicly called his wife Cindy that word in 1992. The McCain campaign has called the book “trash journalism” and called the alleged incident a “complete fabrication.”

FOX News’ Mosheh Oinounou contributed to this report.

The heckler at Senator McCain’s townhall meeting, appropriately had mental health issues on his mind, which he alluded to, before going “mental” himself. If someone had addressed that “question” to me, in private, I would have responded in a very, vice Presidential manner, and you know what I mean! If I were the Secret Service, I’d be taking a close look at this pinhead, from now until November. He is the very definition of the term, “boil on the backside of democracy.

I’m no fan of McCain but for someone to be so partisan as to ask this in order to TRY to humiliate him
is beyond repugnant. This “my friends” is what has become of our country since Clintons became president in 1982. I wondered aloud at the time just how long it would take for them to destroy all that we have held sacred since the beginning of our Republic. As it turned out, it didn’t take long. A word to all of you liberals; oral sex is still sex, lying under oath is a crime, crass is still ugly, “anything goes” is
not a good thing, and there is still, at least with a huge silent majority, a thing called decorum.

Notice how McCain didn’t answer the question.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s because it wasn’t a question….it was a smear attack meant to provoke into showing his temper.
You would actually expect someone to validate a question like by answering it??
Why does the author of this book have to be considered a Democrat and be involved with a conspiracy to ruin Mc Cain? Are we still engaging in Karl Rove politics? Could the author just be another smut peddler who is attempting to cash in on John McCain’s quick temper. I am a John McCain supporter… he is a hero from my generation. However, Karl Rove, President Bush are the people who through him under the train in his last campaign for President..not a Democrat
I often wonder why some people seem to like to cause trouble or always take a negative view of everything. I would just love to see more respect and positive attitudes, more building up instead of tearing down. Harsh words, gossip and insinuations can only hurt in what is supposed to be our civilized world. We must learn to focus on the beauty in our system instead of the trash. Evidently some people think the only way to get noticed is to be vulgar. Thanks for giving me a chance to express my opinion.
Reply to MLB - Since Obama is linked to terrorists, Hillary is a lier, and McCain is a hot head, I think the lessor of three evils is McCain. I’m sure you agree but just MisSpoke.
I would not doubt that an Obama supporter did that! After all, when you read all the comments on any subject, the blacks are the most abusive and foul mouthed against Hillary and McCain! That is the only way that unintelligent blacks can respond! How come these blacks did not come out and register to vote before this….they are coming out of the woodwork….don’t even have to buy gas…they are bussed in!
