McCain Ambushed With Obscene Question at Town Hall Event

Border

An audience member ambushed John McCain on Thursday at an otherwise placid town hall meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, with a surprise question about whether he had ever called his wife by an obscene term.

The man stood up and first said he wanted to ask the Arizona senator about a “mental health and mental health care” concern.

“Previously I had been married to a woman who was very verbally abusive to me,” the man said. He paused and asked, “Is it true that you called your wife a c***?”

The crowd booed, and McCain responded:

“No, no — you don’t wanna, you don’t wanna. You know, it’s a great thing about town hall meetings, sir,” he said. “But we really don’t — there’s people here who don’t respect that kind of language. So I’ll move onto the next questioner in the back.”

Secret Service agents escorted the man out of the building.

The question came out of a new book called “The Real McCain,” by Cliff Schecter, that alleges McCain publicly called his wife Cindy that word in 1992. The McCain campaign has called the book “trash journalism” and called the alleged incident a “complete fabrication.”

FOX News’ Mosheh Oinounou contributed to this report.

Gotta love the dirtball lefties. They’ll do anything to try and smear the guy. He’s probably the only honorable candidate in the race. The incident has the infantile Obama cult’s fingerprints all over it.

I truly believe Senator McCain will make a great president, also a very knowledgeable person that has been quite a few places.

Sandy, would your grandmother’s sage advice apply to Bill Clinton who, as frieda Hadley pointed out, was president for 18 years?

…this appears to be a liberal ‘plant’, c’mon, I don’t think us conservatives or republicans could ever behave in that manner at a town hall meeting. It looks more and more that this is the normal behavior of the lib dems. So, no surprise or shock here.

Our family rarely used bad language except when the calves all tried to get into the same milk bucket, then my father would use some words in German, I never understood at the time.

My favorite choice for Vice President would be (Mitt Romney)

How about we start thinking about the issues, instead of trash that reporters pick up. This entire campaign season, on both sides, makes me sick.

As my grandma always said, “Believe only what you see and hear for your self” Never believe what someone else supposedly heard or read.

Go John.

Even if he did call her that, so what. I’m sure most ever couple has said something to there better (or worse) half that was mean in an argument… So I say… So what?

Dick,

You certainly are one. And, why would think the question McCain was asked is appropriate? Probably because you use that sort of language, huh? Why don’t you ask Hillary how many times Bill has called her that name. Probably a lot more that you could count on both hands.
