Polls Show Clinton Gaining Strength but Obama Picking Up Superdelegates
WASHINGTON — Polls showed voters drifting toward Hillary Rodham Clinton ahead of crucial Democratic primary votes next week, but the all-important party superdelegates — whose backing is now essential for the nomination — were falling increasingly in line behind Barack Obama. Despite the momentum building behind Clinton after her win in Pennsylvania, it still appeared mathematically impossible for her to overcome Obama’s delegate lead for the party nomination.
In the past two months, Obama has whittled Clinton’s superdelegate lead by half, a key gain for the Illinois senator because neither candidate can win the 2,025 delegates needed for nomination in the remaining nine state and territorial contests.
Clinton has a 20-superdelegate lead, 268-248, but Obama holds the overall advantage in delegates, including committed superdelegates, 1,736.5-1,602.5.
That means the superdelegates, the nearly 800 party officials and office holders free to back either candidate regardless of state votes, will decide the nominee. So far 516 have chosen sides.
Regardless, Clinton appeared to be gaining strength among voters, especially the white working-class which has reacted negatively Obama’s association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright — the Illinois senator’s former pastor who called from the pulpit for God to damn America for it’s treatment of African Americans.
Reflecting that shift, a poll released Thursday by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press showed Clinton’s lead over Obama nationally among whites who did not attend college had increased from 10 points in March to 40 points at the end of April.
That voting bloc played heavily in Clinton’s substantial win last week in Pennsylvania and was likely to be just as critical Tuesday, when voters cast ballots in Indiana. Pre-vote surveys there showed the outcome was a toss-up.
A second poll released Thursday carried more potential bad news for Obama, this in North Carolina, which votes in tandem with Indiana.
The Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. survey for two television stations in the state showed Obama’s double-digit lead had slipped to just seven points, 49-42.
Nationwide, the Pew poll showed, Democratic voters now are about evenly divided, with Obama holding a statistically insignificant 47-45 margin. In late March he was up 10 points, 49-39.
The latest Gallup tracking survey had Clinton leading 49-45, after a week of showing them nearly even. Obama held a 10-percentage point margin going into Pennsylvania.
The prolonged and divisive campaign was of particular concern for Democrats concerned about damage being done to the party’s chances in the fall against presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain.
McCain on Thursday went into the heart of America’s farm belt to Iowa, a place where subsidies for corn and ethanol fuel are wildly popular, to denounce agricultural subsidies.
Congress is struggling to finish a nearly $300 billion bill that McCain says is bloated with subsidies for wealthy farmers. The bill would pay for farm and nutrition programs for the next five years.
“I have to give you a little straight talk about the farm bill that is wending its way through Congress. I do not support it. I would veto it. I would do that because I believe that the subsidies are unnecessary,” he said.
His long-held position against subsidies has cost him in Iowa, the state that traditionally begins the presidential nominating process and is a potential swing state in the fall.
Despite his ties to U.S. President George W. Bush, whose approval rating is below 30 percent, McCain is running close to both Clinton and Obama in hypothetical matchups.
Those fears led former Democratic National Committee Chairman Joe Andrew on Thursday to switch his backing to Obama, despite having been named to the top party job by former President Bill Clinton.
“This has got to come to an end,” Andrew told reporters in his hometown of Indianapolis. He said he planned to call all the other superdelegates he knows and encourage them to back Obama.
In a lengthy letter explaining his decision, Andrew said he changed candidates because “a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote to continue this process, and a vote to continue this process is a vote that assists (Republican) John McCain.”
“The ship is taking on water right now,” Andrew said at the news conference. “We need to patch those holes, heal the rift and go forward to beat John McCain.”
Asked for a response to Andrew’s decision, Clinton spokesman Phil Singer said, “We support that Democratic process and think that every American should be able to weigh in and support the candidate of his or her own choosing.”
Clinton adviser Harold Ickes also sent a memo to superdelegates Thursday arguing that the polls prove she is the strongest candidate to beat McCain. Among the polls they cited was an Associated Press-Ipsos survey out this week that showed Clinton leading McCain by 9 percentage points, while Obama is virtually tied with the likely Republican nominee.
This week, Obama picked up nine superdelegates, plus three add-on delegates named by the Illinois Democratic Party. Clinton gained four new superdelegates, while also picking up four add-on delegates from her home state of New York.
We are supporting you Obama!!!
Middle class white woman.
Obama God bless you 08
This just shows why we need to get rid of the delegate system, the Superdelegates cant even think logically. If Clinton is running ahead of McCain, then why change your superdelegate vote to a losing candidate? More of the confounded logic that has been urging Clinton to exit the race despite the fact that historically many other candidates were much further behind at this point in the process. The Democratic Party is showing signs of senility!
joe Andrews is a turncoat/wow he sided with obama who is not fit to be our commander and chief………..no one thinks much of Andrews now
0obama im willing to bet is still friends with his pastor and terriost guy/ obama wife comments not verry good. so wise up all vote for hillary/
The bottom line is that Mr Obama has shown his true colors and now is trying to cover them up. The facts are, America, his is not even experienced enough (a senator for 2 years). He’s still a kid, and even if he were an honest and sincere politician (if there is such a thing) he’s not strong enough, or wise enough to deal with whats coming on this country in the near future. On top of all that, its well known that he’s the biggest liberal there. Can you imaging what this country would be like? God help us all! This man does not deserve the presidency. THINK AMERICA, THINK!
I am wondering if the pastor has tapes of Obama saying something that could really change the hurt him is that the reason he hasn’t totally renounced their association. Many parishioner have left churches and indeed it does hurt but, the response didn’t feel right to me. Unfortuately, I see a repeat of Kerry in Obama. I had wanted Dean and he lost on ranting and raving and I am sorry, this situation of his pastor reminds me of that. Realizing Obama didn’t do ranting and raving but, he knew full well that his pastor talked like this. Then stand there and say he didn’t he shows a major character flaw and it is deceptive. I believe the country is experiencing buyer remorse.
Maybe the superdelegates know about the Peter Paul case. Why can’t I seem to get answers about this case? It is very important that voters are informed, and this is more relevant than any of the controversies surrounding candidate associations. This involves Clinton and her husband.
TEE-HEE!
LOVIN’ THE BATTLE!
SHOWS THE BACK-BITING THAT REALLY GOES ON @ DNC!
ALL OBAMA DOES IS PREACH. MAYBE THIS STYLE OF HIS HE PICKED UP FROM HIS BUDDY REV. WRIGHT.
Realistically, can anyone deny Obama the nomination, given the lead? The repercussions would be felt years to come, I feel.
Every time Obama gets into a little hot water, some Superdelegate comes out to endorse him.
It has become a pattern for damage control. It has been over used on Obama.
Superdelegates have to be the biggest scam the Dems have ever come up with!
Its amazing how everytime the Drama starts with Obama and another damaging piece of information comes out on him - another Delegate flocks to him !!!! . People are starting to see that Hillary is the better choice but these delegates are so determined to hand the nomination to Obama. These delegates are going to face a voter backlash like they’ve never seen before. Middle America does not TRUST Obama. He CANNOT WIN !!! Jeremiah Wright is just the tip of the iceberg. What are you stupid delegates going to do after you hand Obama the nomination and then more DAMAGING information emerges on him and IT WILL !!! Then you’ll be responsbile for nominating a loser who CANNOT win over the middle class blue collar workers in America.
Obama will win this horse race fair and square. Billary will implode soon. I want to see and hear the blast.
The chickens have come home to roost Billary. Please go away and take your snobby child with you.
Why doesn’t Joe Andrew tell Obama to drop out, as Obama is destroying the democratic party. Sounds like Joe Andrew and the good ole boys (Kennedy, Kerry, Daschle, etc.) are trying to rig the superdelegates against Hillary, even though Hillary is winning and Obama is losing. I will vote for McCain if they continue to block Hillary and treat her unfairly. A lot of others agree with me on this. They should have done their due diligence on Obama before propping him up to take on Hillary, starting 4 years ago at the convention. He has serious flaws, some of which the public doesn’t even know about yet. The Republicans have a ton of research on Obama which they are just waiting to unleash should he become the nominee. Vote for Hillary, she’s the best. Quit trying to rig the superdelegates against her. Obama should drop out, he’s destroying the democratic party
Interesting to see that the big issues today in the US are not the big issues such as the depression afflicting the biggest economy, the Iraqi misadventure, the global food crisis. Rather they find a nice way to camouflage racial prejudices under the guise of a ‘caricature’: Rev Wright!. Any wonder many countries doubt the leadership quality of the US in the world today. Obama may lose this election because of all this stupid talks (which in the world of the rationale has nothing to do with him) while the ‘bosnia’ liar is given a pass to the greatest office; the world looks on as the US continue to make a mockery of its very own principles.
The democratic party super delegates are clearly dumb.. they want to support obama who is going tobe defeated sorely in fall. I read the blogs and there is so much dirt out on this guy. It is a matter of time the media catches up and he is toast. Too bad the superdelegates are not jumping up and down for clinton. It would have been a tougher match between clinton and mccain…
ALL WE CAN HEAR ABOUT IS JERAMIAH WRIGHT.WHAT ABOUT WHAT WAS SAID ON A RADIO STATION ABOUT CLINTON’S FORMER PASTOR BEING ARRESTED FOR CHILD MOLESTATION111
Is it possible Hillary is behind the Rev. Wright scandal? It seems the Rev. must be a Clinton supporter based on his recent campaign appearances supporting the NY Senator. The Clintons are so power hungry, it wouldn’t surprise me if all of Obama’s problems are tied to a Clinton based conspiracy. I started this primary season an Obama supporter - now I’m strongly leaning McCain. Anyone but Bosnia Hillary.
The Democrats should do this whole thing all over again! Start from he beginning and, with what people know now about Obama, see how many would still vote for him as his candidate to fight McCain in the general election. t is insane that superdelegates back Obama when the people are re-visiting their choices and going for Clinton. What is wrong with these superdelegates? Do they want their party to lose?
It doesn’t matter anyways for me. I never planned to vote for either one but this is just making it easier for my candidate, McCain, to win in November. I would never vote for Obama for president!
These polls are very misleading, first off the numbers will reflect the geographical area that is being polled. If you are polling a geographical area that favors Obama his poll numbers will be high and then tomorrow you poll a geographical area that favors Clinton her poll numbers will be high. I would really like to know who is being polled? I have ask just about everyone I know have they been called for a poll and they said no.
Many who voted for Obama months ago wish they could change their vote. If the primaries were all recast today, Hillary would win by a landslide of the popular vote.
So what? She’s still going to lose. She’s just draggin it out to tear down Obama. She’s got all these uneducated people believing that she has a chance when she know she doesn’t. She knows that her only chance is to steal the nomination.
I do not see “Supers” leaving Obama’s camp. I wonder want would happen if Peter Paul came to light. mmmm! I wonder.
Obama 08′
Go Hillary!!! Now that the shoe (negative media coverage) is on the other foot the Obamanites don’t like it. The reason he is getting the superdelegate endorsements is because they (superdelegates) are phobic about perhaps taking orders from a woman. Obama is too risky given his association with the likes of Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers. Come on we all know that the ONLY reason Obama distanced himself from Rev. Wright is because he so badly wants the presidency. And what is all this talk about Obama having an affair with someone named Larry Sinclair? Why hasn’t the media shed some light on this or are they afraid of tarnishing their precious little golden boy. The more I know about BO, the more I’m for HRC. You go, girl.
Hillary ‘08
The voters need to choose the candidate not the Party. When the Party picks the candidate, it’s Communism. When the people pick the candidate, it’s Democracy. The voters of all the states that have not voted yet need to have their say. The delegates from Michigan and Florida need to be counted. If the Party chooses a candidate in opposition to the will of the voters, it is an absolute certainty that that candidate will lose.
Note that these endorsements rolling in for Obama are former DNC party Chairmen, that is Party bosses. Why not add the bosses of the infamous Chicago Political Machine and how about Putin. Let’s have Putin throw in his endorsement for Obama, too. Maybe Castro. I am certain they would prefer to have Mr. Obama than Hillary who is a tough little cookie, so why not? Two more Party bosses in Obama’s camp!
For Hillary, this will be a case of too little, too late. Although Obama has lost some ground in the polls over the last few days, he is still favored to win in North Carolina and stay close in Indiana. Given that scenario, there would be virtually no way for Hillary to catch up to him in pledged delegates over the laast few primaries.
If it does indeed play out that way, there is no way she can get the nomination without the perception that she stole it from Obama via some under-the-table method. If that happens, Obama’s supporters will revolt and stay home in November, giving McCain the election. Contrary to Hillary’s beliefs, not everyone in her party would default back to her blindly.
Better late than never. At last the true image of Barack Obama is being reflected as days pass by. He is a Typical Politician with a mask of CHANGE. He bragged on judgement. Where was his judgement when associating with his pastor or his controversial allies. Secondly he lied a number of times publicly, thridly he does not have any feeling of repentence but is another arrogant personality who would do anything to accomplish his goal. His speeches always speak of WE, but what happened when he spoke while criticising his pastor. He criticized him because his pastor did not care for him.
How can a person start criticizing someone whom he ranked so close like his grandmother and after a couple of weeks he is his worst enemy.
He has a dual personality and I will nver vote for him and would ask others to think twice.
the democratic leadership is making sure the party derails come November.
McCain 2008. Hillary Clinton 2012. Block Obama Now
I think the super delegates are bailing out on Clinton , not because Obama is the
better candidate , but because they are nervous that Hillary will overtake him in
popularity. They would then have to make a decision and they are too weak to do this. In the end , McCain will win, because, I , myself will not vote for anti-American Obama and neither will a lot of other Democrats.
I am not an American but before you say” Butt out”, just wanted to give an outsider’s opinion on the Democratic race. Everyone is on this “change” wave, but they need to remember not all change is for the better, Senator Obama is such an unknown, little bits and pieces of who the man is keep popping up all the time. Whereas with Senator Clinton what you see if what you get and she is the only on who can really give Senator McCain a good fight. After all she has the experience and being the wife of a former President it seems to reason that she has a really good idea of how the country runs. So as I go just wanted to say to the Democrats, “Better the devil that you know than the devil you don’t”.
Regards.
Diane
what is the world coming to when obama can win over the superdelegates with the country and states voteing for clinton don’t our vote count? if not we just as well stay home and save our gas and enjoy our days of freedom because if obama get in the may not be any freedom left,
The superdelagates will have to switch back to Hillary because a lot more news is going to come out against Obama and they will know above and beyond doubt, he could not win! People jumped on this unknown man and now we are getting to know him. That is bad for him!!
Mary
Keep discounting the working class voter that does not spend all day online blogging and answering poll questions they have jobs and out number the liberals, always vote in the general and always decide the election out come.
There is something funny going on in this election. Don’t you see every time Senator Hillary is losing the republicans comes out in drove to vote for her. I think Hillary and Democratic party is being set up by the republican party. Senator Mcain will have all the time to campaign with little interference by either Dem candidate. Wise up democrats and stop this everlasting electioneering. The Republicans must be having a whale of a time laughing at you.
It does not matter if the pendulum swings to outer space for Hillary. Obama has more pledged delegates and there’s absolutely no way she can catch him on the pledged delegate count, which anyone who is politically astute knowS that, and that alone, determines the democratic nominee. Obama has won the pennant. The champagne is in the fridge and the balloons have been ordered. OBAMA ‘08
The democrats continue to beat up each other. This takes money, time, and confidence. Could we have another Chicago 1968? As a republican, I can only hope. If and when the mainstream media decides to follow the presidential race as reporting the news rather than making the news the American public will get a true look at these two liberal democrats who want everything in our wallets. And notice a rather shady tone in their character. Do we really want either of these democrats as the most powerful person in the world? I venture the answer should be NO!
Regardless of what FOX and all the rest of the pundants say…
Hillary Clinton is the next PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES.
Get used to it!
he cant win ………… she cant win game over
I think the leadership of the democratic party just lost their minds, they are going into the total disaster with Obama. If this is their wisdom, maybe we need a new party - ‘middle class - middle of the road’?
It seems so sad that the BEST of the BEST is Obama and Hillary…something has gone dreadfully wrong in this country.
If they steal this from Obama we will Rain McCain in the general election!
Your God help us all. I find it funny that the Democrats turn against their leading candidate because of his Pastor. What a bunch of bigots. You can not tell me these same folks have not sat in their church and not heard their Pastor, Preacher, Reverend, whatever you want to call them, cross the lines between church and state. Call a spade and spade. The white working class is looking for any reason not to vote for a half black man.
They say he can not beat McCain, but Hilary with Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, the events after Vince Fosters death, and her failed attempt at health care during her husbands failed administration are all ok? Hilary still lives with the man who broke their marriage vows, how does this fit into you Pastor bashing people? She still lives with and has working her campaign the same man who sexually abused woman in the White House.
Go ahead working class Democrats, support another Clinton. Look what the first one did for you. You are still were you were when he took office.
I am white and I will vote for any one but a Clinton or Bush.
Since people are wondering why Obama stayed with Pastor Wright and want an explanation.
Perhaps we should ask, WHY did Hillary stay with Bill after ALL of his years of adultery.
I bought my ticket all the way to the convention! Since our wise Democratic leadership has decided not to allow our votes in Florida to count, so far in this primary election process. More than doom and gloom will prevail in the fall from the State of Florida from a lot of Democratic voters(a vote for McCain). It’s good that this process has gone on this long. It has allowed all americans to see both candidates in a crunch, and there reactions to it.
Mary that is a good observation. Ever wonder why republicans and the media Wolf Blitzer (CNN), Joe Scarborough, Dave Gregory, Andrea Michell (all of MSNBC) keep the Rev Wright story alive linking him to Obama? Because that’s all they have against him. Obama is ahead in all of the counts except Superdelegate and he’s gaining on that. Poll don’t win elections counts do. Ever wonder why republicans are pushing Hillary more than McCain? Because McCain is not conservative, Hillary used to be a republican and they want to get back in the house. This battle doesn’t stop in Nov. The superdelegates are going for Obama because they remember, the Democrats lost control of the House, Senate, and Governorship while the Clintons were in the white house.
The reason uncommitted super delegates are waiting is they fear there are more skeletons in Barack’s closet. And why not wait for the Obamas to be more thoroughly and honestly vetted? It only helps the Democratic Party in the long-run by nominating a more electable candidate in November. And by the way, the goal is to win the election, not to pander to the shrill Obama supporters.
In my opnion, Obama has shown poor judgement of character in associating himself with Rev. Wright for the past 20 years. I don’t think Rev. Wright just changed his views in the past few years. Obama seems to be a very good speaker, and is telling the American public what they want to hear. He talks the talk, but I don’t think he has enough experience to be leader of the USA.
if obama gets the democratic nomination he is not going to be elected president of the us.
I do agree Clinton is the stronger candidate going against John McCain for whom I will vote. But Obama is going to win the nomination because of the superdelegates refusal to recognize the momentum and value of Clinton and the weakness of Obama. The Main stream media and party elitist anointed Obama with out vetting him. Now the Democratic Party has to choose between Obama (Black Vote) and Clinton (Women and White blue color Voters). They fear the black vote. If they would have treated Obama in the same manor as Clinton during the early days of the primaries then his problems would have been exposed as they are now and more to come form his partner in real-estate. The damage is going to get worse.
College graduates favor Obama due to liberal indoctrination by professors not because they are smarter .
Obama should not become the next president of the United States because of what he has said and done behind closed doors. Behind closed doors when he thinks it is safe to relax and let his hair down you get the bitterness comments or you find out that he and his wife are huddled together with Rev. Wright in secret but he goes out on to the big stage with another Rev.
He seems rather two faced and forked tongue to me.
IF OBAMA WINS I VOTE FOR MCCAIN
Senator Obama leads in delegates and the popular vote due to FL and MI voters having been disenfranchised, and the primaries he won having voted prior to the Wright controversy and the exposure of Senator Obama’s association with other unsavory individuals and organizations.
Senator Obama has not won anything since these issues came to light and many who voted giving him the wins he has, would very much like to have their votes back. They will vote in November, just as the voters of FL and MI will.
Senator Obama cannot win the general election and a vote for Obama now is a vote for John McCain in November.
In all this Democratic nonsense, the voice of reason appears to be an over-the-hill wrestler who once was Governor of Minnesota: “When you’re choosing between the lesser of two evils, you’re still voting for evil.” Thank you, Jesse Ventura.

NC Poll: Obama +16
Posted by TOM BEVAN | E-Mail This | Permalink | Email Author
Zogby’s latest (April 30-May1) is one of the few bright spots for Obama over the last 48 hours, showing him with a big lead over Clinton, though without any previous polling from Zogby we can’t tell which direction Obama may be going:
Obama 50 (no trend)
Clinton 34
Undecided 8
Overall, Obama’s lead in the RCP Average for North Carolina ticked back up to 8.4%.
I read an article last night in which Sidney Blumenthal, a strong Clinton supporter, is boasting about being the guy who digs up the dirt on Obama and passes it along to the Clinton camp, cable tv, newspapers and the web. He also said that he plans to continue to keep the names of Wright and Ayers in the news as long as he can.
I am glad that Obama doesn’t bring up Vince Foster, Paul, Whitegate, etc. He only goes negative when pushed in a corner. I wish he had’t had to go negative at all, but his advisors were concerned he would seem too soft if he didn’t defend himself.
The delegates must be listening to top economists who say that Obama’s economic plan is the best of the three, and that they understand the “gas tax holiday” is a political ploy, and that Obama is the person with a fresh approach. And the fact that he is young and identifies with this generation doesn’t hurt either.
Its mighty funny that people are still talking about Rev Wright but refusing to talk about Peter Paul. Look up Paul vs Clinton people and you will find out that Hillary is not just a liar but is a crook. She refuses to talk about this issue. O’Reily! Why didn’t you ask Hillary about this? Do we need a crooked president? No. This case is coming up and a president do not have time to be in the court room while she is running the country. You all are going to find out that this issue is way more than what Rev Wright said. And since you like to talk about Rev Wright why don’t you pop up the pics he has with Bill Clinton. Also I have not herd the Clintons denousing the former paster who has been charged as a child molester.
Why isnt anyone in any major news source even asking about Paul v. Clinton?
Yeah, it’s a civil case. Yes, it’s against Bill. But Hillary has been called to testify, as has Chelsea, about Clinton promising to work for Paul if he donated money for Hillary’s campaign. Of course, after she was elected, he failed to keep his end of the bargain and is now being sued.
You know, if people want to say, how can Obama not have been influenced by years of listening to Wright, how can Hillary not have been influenced by years of the political tutelage of her husband… who was impeached… for perjury?
You can kind of feel the momentum switching to Senator Clinton. She did a great job on O’Reilly and showed the her charismatic side as well as how tuned in she is the important issues.
Don’t forget about Michigan and Florida! The eventual nominee must have their support and must be counted.
If Clinton steals the nomination I will vote for McCain
The superdelegates seem to understand that Obama is going to end up winning. He has the lead and not much can really change that.
The are probably listening to top economists who say that Obama’s economic plan is the best of the three candidates, that he isn’t pandering to the people on the “gas tax holiday” a VERY short term fix with little to no help in the pocketbook, and that he is the young, fresh new face on the scene who is ready to work with this generation.
I am a registered Democrat and I truly want a Democrat in the White House come November. But if Obama wins the nomination, McCain will be getting my vote, if I even vote at all.
I believe that we can’t serve two masters at the same time. Each time a religious leader utilizes the church for personal reasons and not teach the true words of God, the church is shaken.
I feel compassion for both Senator Obama and Rev Wright. I can’t judge them. My only wish is that something good happens in their lives after this experience.
I don’t belong to a political party, but I like to vote for whom I consider the best candidate from either of the parties.
This long primary has been an eye opener for me. So far, I think Hillary has been the strongest candidate. If she wins the primary, I’ll probably be voting for her.
Thanks.
The Republicans and moderates are loving this! They fear Obama… They distrust Clinton. Now, it appears the McCain camp may be facing Hillary this fall - with one weapon left in their arsenal… MONICA!!!
IF YOU ARE DONT REMEMBER THE 90S YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF NOT VOTING WE HAD GOOD TIMES. GAS WAS GOOD PEACE WAS GOOD OTHER COUNTRIES LOVED US. FOOD WAS GOOD , WE HAD A LOT OF THINKS GOING ON AND LOVING IT. NOW E HAVE AHELL OF A WAR FOOD THAT SOME CANT BUY, EVERYBODY HATES US WE HATE US. WE DONT TRUST OUR NEIGHBORS BUT YOU ARE WILLING TO PUT A STRANGER IN THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LANDS. HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE. WE KNOW HILLARY WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS STRANGER OBAMA HAS IN STORE FOR US,
Oh the right wing ers clapping for Hillary just to eat her alive later.
That is IF IF IF she makes it as the nomine..
Fox news endorses Hillary. What a shame.
If Andew doesn’t like the process he helped put in place, then he needs to help change it. If he truely wanted to end this, he’d be calling on all deligates (super and otherwise) to back Hillary so that Obama would get out of the race.
His flawed thinking is divisive. The people should decide who is the nominee, not some self-important media-attention-seeking individual that no knows or cares about.
I’ll probably vote McCain, but I was surprised at how well Hillary did in the O’Reilly interview. Not sure, but I don’t think Obama would be willing to be interviewed like that and, if he did, I don’t think he could do as well (I might be wrong). As a result, if a Democrat wins, then I think Hillary would be a better president (if she can control Bill and keep him out of the news).
Vote Democrat for big government, higher taxes, less freedom
Do you suppose those Obama supporters were right when they said the superdelagates were not supporting the will of the people? What do they say now? Double standard? Oh yeah, it’s was just words.
Democrat hear this.
Hillary not the nominee, MaCain is getting my vote.
“Fear” tactics; Hillary still a Republican.
Both Obama and Clinton are lying to get power. The question is which one can fool the most people to achieve that goal. Of the three presidential candidates, only one is qualified for the position. McCain does not have to lie, he has nothing to hide.
I hope Clinton has removed her China story since it is only partically true. Her husband formally signed the sale agreement that put many people out of jobs here. One of the witnesses to that signing told a news reporter that what she is saying is only half true.
The Democrats are on the horns of a dilemma. Wright is only one of many problematic associations for Obama. They can’t repudiate him and they can’t win with him.
Sit back and enjoy the show, folks. Its only just begun.
It’s continues to amaze me that people are supporting Mr. Obama based upon his ability to “inspire” them. He “inspires” me too, but that is not a basis to give this man who we know almost NOTHING about the presidency of the United States. Are we insane? Are we so desperate for something new, “change” if you will, that we are willing to hand over the oval office to an inexperienced idealist. Our ecomony is wrecked, the respect for the United States is at it’s lowest level in our history. Mr. Obama may very well make a fine President someday, but let us not use the White House for training.
I think Hillary can make the argument Obama’s negatives have risen and he cannot close. Clinton has won the big states needed in a general election. I think her recent win in PA was revealing of people who are not ready to cast a vote for a man they cannot connect with. Obama’s elitist attitude has recently been question and he is now being held to the same standard Clinton has through-out this campaign and HE doesn’t like it. Not everything can be erased with an eloquent speech.
If you vote for Hillary Clinton and she wins, you will then have two of the best brains in the White House figuring out how to get this country out of the messes it finds itself in. If this smooth-talking, rabble rouser Obama becomes President all the countries who despise America will laugh and shake their heads in wonder at our stupidity. I for one will not vote if flim-flam Obama gets the nomination. What in the world is wrong with our citizens?
Some SUPERDELIGATES want to squash out hilary’s chances,i think that is a big mistake because OBAMA is not going to beat John mcCain because THE REVERAND WRIGHT issue is no going to GO AWAY.Ithink the Republican Machine will destroy him the same way they SWIFT BOATED JOHN KERRY.
While the superdelegates are for Rev Wright, the voters should decide this election. They are far better informed.
I have never quite understood why the DNC wants to self destruct. Why on earth would super delegates gravitate towards a candiate who will be a loser? Hillary is the party’s only chance. Anyone who swa O’Reilly’s interview would know that.
Go Hillary!
I am a registered Democrat and I truly want a Democrat in the White House come November. But if Obama wins the nomination, McCain will be getting my vote .
The longer the campaign is better for voters to choose the right candidate for the general election. Voters learn a lot of bad thing from Obama and make the wise decision. He won a lot caucus not the big swing state primaries so can he win the GE.
Hillary is seeming more and more like a republican than a democrat these days. She had a good conversation with O’Reilly, and has appealed to the rural, uneducated (formally) democrat voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.
Considering McCain’s maverick stance on socially conservative issues, I am actually considering a vote for Hillary.
Hillary could never win with out the Black vote, She is unelectable …
Ay, ay, ay sometimes I wonder about these so call superdelegates. Wake up Hillary has won the big blue states that Democrats need to win! If Obama is the nominee we already lost 4 states. Florida and Michigan, Obama doesn’t want their vote to count. I can just see the Republican’s t.v. ads on this one. Ohio, the back talk about NAFTA in Canada by an Obama adviser. And finally Pennsylvania, the “bitter” comment.
HILLARY ‘08
I love how some people are suggesting that Clinton is a Republican. Clearly you are unaware of her push for universal health care. Please get informed before you blog other wise you sound like an idiot.
This is inane. The superdcelegates that are casting their support to Obama are showing themselves to be weak and easily led, especially based on most recent polling numbers. No, Obama can not win. The refusal to allow votes from FL and MI will certainly come back to haunt the Dems in Nov. If ANYONE ought to quickly and with great apology resign it ought to be Howard Dean. He has ruined the primary processs and showed himself to be an indecisive and idiotic “leader.”
Why do we need super delegates to pick our nominee? I thought that’s why we voted in the primaries, and had a convention. Republicans don’t do this (and we accuse them of back room dealing). You should have to win through the votes of the people. Who ever wins that vote should be the nominee. I want Obama, but if he loses fair and square, so be it. But if he is leading in delegates, voted by the people and not the “supers”, and they take the nomination from him - then I will never vote Democrat again, and I will see to it my children learn the truth and follow my lead.
SHE WILL NEVER BE PRESIDENT, OBAMA IS HURT BY REV WRIGHT. JOHN McCAIN WILL BE PRESIDENT
LT,
What does Monica have to do with Hillary? Hillary will be president not Bill. If Obama gets the nomination the GOP will tare him apart with recordings and s
