Campaign Aide: Clinton Lent Herself $6.4 Million in Past Month

WASHINGTON — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, her campaign said Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival, Barack Obama.

The money more than doubled Clinton’s personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.

A campaign aide said Clinton gave her campaign another $5 million on April 11, more than a week before the Pennsylvania primary. She then again dipped into her personal wealth for $1 million last week and $425,000 on Monday, one day before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.

Clinton’s campaign reported raising $10 million online after her Pennsylvania victory on April 22. Evidently, the money was not enough and her fundraising was unable to keep up with her expenses heading into Tuesday’s contests.

Moreover, Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary and has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than $7 million on advertising head of Tuesday’s primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly $4 million.

According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton’s $9.3 million.

But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.

Is she charging herself interest on this loan?

If she is, it would be a sneaky way of making money off of her campaign. I am sure that amount of money is nothing to her, but the interest on 6.4 million over just a few months is significant amount of money to her voting base who may be contributing to repay the loan.

Perhaps one should finance their own campaigns. No PACS, no favors owed. Geez! I hate how people like to rip this woman. She’d make the best president ever. But if she doesn’t get nominated, just watch us p*ss*d off HRC supporters become Republicans in the GE. To quote a friend “there is no way, if I am still in my right mind, that I would vote for Obama”.

I’m one of those $25 donors. I’ve NEVER donated to a politician before but this guy has made me feel optimistic. Now maybe he can’t deliver but I’m willing to give him a chance. Congress can check him if they desire and render him somewhat useless if he goes “crazy” as president.
Oh, yeah, I’m a retired professional white woman.

Give it up Hillary. Your a pathetic excuse for a candidate. If you won the primary, it would be a sure bet on McCain winning the White House.

Hillary has the same experience as Laura Bush and Nancy Regan…8 years as first lady. Why does she think that gives her so much EXPEREINCE? Why are gulible Americans buying it????

Subject: Clinton
I just wonder…..how can someone with millions of dollars in personal wealth…..understand the needs and wants of the working class peoples who are barely making it ” pay check to pay check? Also, with so many comforts of life and wealth…..I wonder…..does she put any monies back into society and/or charityies that could help so many? These are my questions. My son desporately needs dental care, as his gums are absessed and his front teeth are rotting and falling out and needs a full set of dentures. He was told by a dentist, in a one time affordable visit, that on a scale of 1 to 10 in the way of a mouth in need of treatment…..his was an 11. But, he could do nothing without an unsirmountable amount of money…..that my son nor I have. My son is a long distance truck driver for a sub-contracting owner and is not afforded health or dental insurance. And we all know more than half working class peoples either have not access to insurance or can not afford it. To me this is not only unfair, it’s atrocious. Everyone deserves the best possible health and dental care…..not just the wealthy.
Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion. I’m steamed - to put it mildly.

Sincerely,
Julianne Vaughn

Sen. Clinton is Finished…. She is spending more than she is taken in and that is appalling. The only reason she won Indiana(barley) was because of republican crossover vote… the same thing happened in Ohio…Sen. Obama is the obvious candidate for the the Democrats. Can We get on with it Hillary… this is getting old
