Campaign Aide: Clinton Lent Herself $6.4 Million in Past Month

Border

WASHINGTON — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, her campaign said Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival, Barack Obama.

The money more than doubled Clinton’s personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.

A campaign aide said Clinton gave her campaign another $5 million on April 11, more than a week before the Pennsylvania primary. She then again dipped into her personal wealth for $1 million last week and $425,000 on Monday, one day before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.

Clinton’s campaign reported raising $10 million online after her Pennsylvania victory on April 22. Evidently, the money was not enough and her fundraising was unable to keep up with her expenses heading into Tuesday’s contests.

Moreover, Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary and has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than $7 million on advertising head of Tuesday’s primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly $4 million.

According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton’s $9.3 million.

But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.

Sen. Clinton has repeatedly went into the RED during this campaign. Where is the money coming from to bail her out? It is noted as her OWN money? How has she accumulated over $11.4 million on a Senator’s wages? Has she had contributors to her OWN money instead of donating to her campaign?

There are so many questions left unanswered relating to this candidate. Many people I’ve spoken to are rather disgusted with all the lack of consistant and truthful statments she makes. I can promise the Democatic Party that I refuse to vote for a candidate that has proved she cannot manage money. New York’s budget is trashed, why would they think an American who is struggling with inflation, gas prices, food prices, job loss, outrageous health care expenses (I’m talking about care - not insurance), the highest presc. drug prices ever, etc.,… would vote for a nincompoop that cannot financially manage her state, let alone her campaign!!

Please Sirs, the average American cannot afford another Clinton in office.

I would like to see Fox news bring to light more of the truth, as you have been, relating to common sense voting and integrity needed in our leader positions.

Thank you for your never ending work.

Hillary won consecutively in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvannia and Indiana while Hillary cut Obama’s lead in North Carolina from 20% down to 14% only.

Good job Hillary. Wake up superdelegates!

Hillary’s problem is she is spoiled and use to having everything her way, now she seems to think her “invested money” will buy her the nomination. . . wake up Hillary, give it up and just keep an eye on Bill, that should be a full time job.

Don’t worry about Attilla the Hen, Folks.. She and Willy cashed in their interest month before last in a strange oil company venture in the mid-east for over $20 million.. And, the $10 million that they deducted for “charity” over the years actually went to their own Foundation.. They will find a way of paying themselves back or forgiving the loan and writing it off as a loss..
Pretty good shell game for someone who “feels the pain” of the working man …

I wonder which is worse, all those millions of dollars trying to “buy” the election, or FOX News wasting so much air time on little podunk elections that matter only to those participating. I personally think this major distraction from the real world we all live in is a major contributor to the economic crises. The election process is newsworthy, but not 24/7. Then again, why are out choices only from three members of the worst congress in my lifetime, possibly ever?

For those who are going to question Clinton on spending so much money for this campaign rather than something for something more worthy like feeding famillies, keep in mind that Obama has outspent Clinton 2 to 1 and sometimes 3 to 1 in some cases…but at least she’s spending her own money rather than Obama spending other people’s hard earned money. Also to be fair, she has also donated a lot to charity % wise more than Obama, 3 times as much percentage wise.

Lee and others,

Unlike Hillary, who is spending her own (and maybe Bill’s) millions to try to “buy” the presidency, Obama is not spending a dime of his own money. The millions of citizens that have contributed to the Obama campagn, most of whom contributed a small amount, have created the model of “public” financing. This is what democracy is supposed to be about: not taking from PACs or big rollers, but being financed by lots of ordinary citizens.

As a Republican, I ‘m jealous that the Obama campagn has created by far the greatest fund raising machine in the history of politics. Besides the money itself, once a person contributes money to a campagn, that person’s vote is unwavering. The donor list also makes for a great volunteer base for the general election.

Besides, we all know that if Hillary had the money Obama does, she would have spent just as much.

Michelle Obama is worst dressed and worse talkiong and most of all worst dressed first lady that I;’ve ever seen.

She looks horible ALL OF THE TIME!
She needs a whole makeover. Plus she’s UGLY!!!!

If a ‘Republican did this, the mass media would accuse that person of trying to buy the position.
I would ask why the same is not being said of HRC …. but it would be rhetorical.
