Campaign Aide: Clinton Lent Herself $6.4 Million in Past Month

WASHINGTON — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, her campaign said Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival, Barack Obama.

The money more than doubled Clinton’s personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.

A campaign aide said Clinton gave her campaign another $5 million on April 11, more than a week before the Pennsylvania primary. She then again dipped into her personal wealth for $1 million last week and $425,000 on Monday, one day before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.

Clinton’s campaign reported raising $10 million online after her Pennsylvania victory on April 22. Evidently, the money was not enough and her fundraising was unable to keep up with her expenses heading into Tuesday’s contests.

Moreover, Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary and has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than $7 million on advertising head of Tuesday’s primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly $4 million.

According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton’s $9.3 million.

But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.

Can’t keep her staff together. Can’t manage her campaign’s budget w/o personal loans. Turns on the tears when things get rough. Yeah I’d say she more than ready to unite a country, correct the nations deficit, and play ‘hard-ball’ with the rogue leaders of the world. Come on people, quit with the black-white, Republican-Democrat, woman-man allegiances and use your head a little. At this point in our history, the country cannot survive a President placed in office based on these ‘credentials’!

I would have more respect for Hillary if she would have actually spent that 11.5 million where it would do some good, as it is she is just throwing away. Sad!

The money she is loaning is what Bubba earned selling books, making speeches and selling out to foreign entities. The deal that Hill struck w/ Bill over the Monica scandal is I will stay w/ you if you pay for my campaign and you stump until your red in the face which he definitely was last nite while standing behind Ms. Pear Bottom while she read what someone else wrote for her.

Ding dong the witch is dead. Although I can appreciate her tenacity. Did anyone actually think she’d get the nomination. If she cared about the american people or the democratic agenda she’d get her ego out of the way and do what’s best. Concede that Obama is the right candidate. Otherwise the democratic race truly is ‘the race for second place’. McCain and the republicans have been sitting back and watching the dems tear themselves apart.

I feel for Mrs. Clinton and I understand her commitment. She believes in herself, and her abilities. She has spent many years working towards this goal and now it is in reach. Mrs. Clinton is fighting to make history. My question is, at what cost? Listening to the advice of Kenny Rogers’ lyrics (knowing when to hold and fold) is difficult to do when you have invested so much of your heart, family and money in achieving your goal. Although I am an Obama supporter, I still wish admire her fight. And hope we all can give her respect she has earned.

If Hillary,s campaign needs money at this point in the race, I would suggest selling crying towels on E-Bay!
I would like to buy the first one! Hillary through in the towel !

This article proves that a majority of people in the United States DO NOT WANT the Clintons back in OUR White House. If they did, she would have no problem raising money.

She just does not get it….the money is being wasted. She does not stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the Dem nomination.

I’m thinking the reason she is giving to her campaign is she passionately cares about the American people. She is the only person that has the experience to fix our problems. She is trying to do that at what ever cost to herself.
