Campaign Aide: Clinton Lent Herself $6.4 Million in Past Month
WASHINGTON — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton lent her presidential campaign $6.4 million over the past month, her campaign said Wednesday, underscoring the financial advantage held by her rival, Barack Obama.
The money more than doubled Clinton’s personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign $5 million earlier this year.
A campaign aide said Clinton gave her campaign another $5 million on April 11, more than a week before the Pennsylvania primary. She then again dipped into her personal wealth for $1 million last week and $425,000 on Monday, one day before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.
Clinton’s campaign reported raising $10 million online after her Pennsylvania victory on April 22. Evidently, the money was not enough and her fundraising was unable to keep up with her expenses heading into Tuesday’s contests.
Moreover, Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary and has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than $7 million on advertising head of Tuesday’s primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly $4 million.
According to the latest campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Obama began the month of April with $42 million in the bank for the primary to Clinton’s $9.3 million.
But Clinton had debts of $10.3 million at the start of the month, much of it money owed to her main polling, phone banking and advertising consultants.

Fight on Hill, Fight on… I have serious questions about Barack’s abilities, readiness and plan. As Hillary is well aware, we had a man here in NY who swept through to record victories with cheering crowds on the platform of change and not the same business as usual. Elliot Spitzer ended up being undone by his personal contacts and scandals, but his administration was in freefall long before. After his first 3 months, the crowds cheering him on, became cynical and his approval ratings plummeted, when he as the outsider couldn’t get things moved through the legislative branch. Change will not happen overnight and experienced people will not be able to navigate or massage the system the way they promise in campaign rhetoric.
Does this show how well she manages money? Is she going to dip into her own wallet when she is spending tax dollars just as recklessly? If she can’t balance a campaign budget, how is she going to balance the national budget? Just a thought to ponder.
Based on what the Clintons have made since the last time in the white house they know they can rent the lincoln bedroom out to all there terrorist friends and make even more money. politics from the dem elite isn’t about America, it’s all about power and money
Good. Money thrown away, in my opinion. She should have quit last night.
HOW CAN HILLARY FIX THE US ECONOMY IF SHE CAN’T EVEN MANAGE HER OWN CAMPAIGN’S FINANCES
Mrs. Clinton has fought a good fit, but now out of money and out of delegates it’s time to face reality and allow the democartic party to prepare fora battle in november. I commend the fight she put forth and how she helped reveal some weak point in the Obama campaign. Now we need to unitify the party and prepare for the battle with the republicans.

Imagine what good we could do for the homeless, the hungry, the schools, etc. in the USA with $50 million dollars. I am glad Obama is ahead. I believe he is the best choice. However, the amount of money spent on campaigning makes me sick.
My childrens school is letting good teacher go and cutting educational programs and she “loaned” herself 6.4 million—are you flippin’ kidding me!!!! Who is paying her that loan money back…..hmmmmm let me guess every tax payer. Come on, with the economy the way it is and every school in the country struggling to keep the doors open this is just crazy & every candidate should be ashamed of the $$ they are wasting.
The way Hillary is running her campaign she should be paying her donors back. I don’t think we need someone who cannot manage their own money controlling the purse strings of this country.
I hope someone on Hillary’s istaff is having the Federal Election Commission look into Obama’s contributors. This smacks of a far left wing conspricy. One should not be able to buy the Presidency!
