Chorus Grows for Clinton to Get Out of Democratic Race

Hillary Clinton is vowing to continue her presidential bid despite mounting pressure to quit following a shaky performance in Indiana and a blow-out loss to Democratic rival Barack Obama in North Carolina.
On Wednesday, Clinton appeared at Shepherdstown University in Shepherdstown, W.V. to say that she continues to be in the fight. Her campaign issued a donor plea from Clinton that said with 28 days left, “I’m going to keep fighting for what I believe in until every voter has had his or her say.”
But the list of people pushing her toward the exit now is growing, and added to it Wednesday was one of her earliest backers, 1972 presidential candidate George McGovern, who said he now is supporting Obama.
“I don’t see how Senator Clinton could prevail” to win the nomination, the 85-year-old former senator told FOX News.
McGovern said Clinton’s exit is important to ensure the upper hand in November.
“I think it’s important for Democrats to be united,” McGovern said.
McGovern joins last week’s high-profile defection of former Democratic Party chairman Joe Andrew and February’s stinging departure of Georgia Rep. John Lewis.
Even before McGovern’s announcement, Clinton cut loose a planned day of rest Wednesday to start up the campaign machine for one final push. Six nomination contests remain over the next four weeks, 217 pledged delegates are still up for grabs and 269 superdelegates are undecided.
The campaign reacted coolly to the news.
“We appreciate his friendship, but we think voters in the upcoming states should have their votes counted,” said Clinton spokesman Jay Carson.
Clinton now aims to keep hope alive among a jittery group of superdelegates who have stuck with her so far. To do so she’ll need to pull together a string of fourth-quarter miracles while dangling the prospect of bringing back into the fold votes from Florida and Michigan — which were written off in a pre-primary party dispute.
That hope is diminishing quickly after the latest balloting. Clinton eked out a 1.7 percent win over Obama in Indiana, lower than pre-election polls predicted, taking the Hoosier State 50.8-49.1. But in the Tar Heel State, Obama racked up a 15 percentage point win, winning it 57-42.
Seeing the end in sight, Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod appeared to be shifting the campaign toward a general election fight, saying presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain has “run free for some time now” because of Democratic preoccupation with the ongoing primary fight.
“I don’t think we’re going to spend time solely in primary states,” he said. “We have multiple tasks here.”
Clinton has a chance at winning a few of the remaining states, but the likelihood of her taking the delegates she needs to win is nearly insurmountable. She is favored to win next week in West Virginia, as well as the May 20 contest in Kentucky, and the June 1 contest in Puerto Rico. But her chances are slim in Oregon on May 20, and in the last two primaries in Montana and South Dakota on June 3.
Still, she argues the count is close. Clinton touched on this theme Tuesday night, citing the “he wins one, she wins one” nature of the campaign.
But to reach the number of 2,025 total delegates needed to clinch the nomination, the New York senator would need to take 349 of the 486 total pledged delegates and superdelegates still on the table or undecided, which includes 16 pledged delegates that have yet to be cast in North Carolina.
“Absent a comfortable win in Indiana, it’s hard to see how the Clinton campaign can go forward from here,” FOX News contributor Karl Rove said, noting the results from Tuesday’s contests seemed to signal the end of the primary race and the beginning of the general election campaign.
“It’s gonna be much harder for her tomorrow,” Democratic strategist Bob Beckel said late Tuesday.
The Clinton campaign showed no signs of letting up even as it fought rumors that it was holding a “crisis” meeting with superdelegates on Wednesday to keep them from jumping to Obama.
The campaign, which canceled Clinton’s Wednesday morning show appearances, confirmed it will meet superdelegates but said it’s not anything unusual. Aides say the outcome of Tuesday’s primaries changes nothing and the race moves on to the remaining six contests.
West Virginia will vote next Tuesday. In the middle of the night, the campaign announced Clinton would travel to the Mountain State first thing on Wednesday morning for campaign events.
“It’s so close,” Clinton said during her rally in Indianapolis. “These next primaries are another test. I’m going to work my heart out in West Virginia and Kentucky this month, and I intend to win them in November in the general election.”
She declared she’s going “full speed” to the White House and touted her win in Indiana.
For his part, Obama was enjoying time off the trail on Wednesday, relaxing at home in Chicago before returning to Washington, D.C., late in the day. Later in the week, he was to travel to Oregon, where he appears to hold the advantage, and then to West Virginia and Kentucky, where Clinton now leads.
Both candidates will inevitably turn their attention to superdelegates in the final days or weeks of the campaign. Clinton was still leading the superdelegate count in the middle of the night, 271-256, but combined with pledged delegates, she was behind overall 1,840-1,688.
For the first time in the race, more undeclared superdelegates remained than pledged delegates left on the primary calendar.
With odds against Clinton, her campaign is drafting a battle plan to lobby superdelegates, sources inside the campaign told FOX News. Those plans include using public rallies, direct mail and even TV spots to generate broader public support for undecided superdelegates to side with Clinton.
She got a small boost Wednesday from Rep. Brad Ellsworth of Indiana, who announced that “if it comes down to the convention, I will support the candidate 8th District voters chose unless there is a compelling reason to do otherwise.”
Undecided superdelegate David Parker, an attorney in North Carolina, also said he isn’t making a commitment yet.
“I’m going to wait until at least June 4. The South is getting together, southern (Democratic National Committee) members are getting together in Mobile, Ala., on June 24 and we’ll have a conversation at that time. I may wait until then just to see what’s happening in the rest of the South,” he said.
Clinton also called on the party “to count all the votes” in direct reference to Michigan and Florida, which the Democratic National Committee penalized by stripping them of their delegations for holding their contests before Super Tuesday, Feb. 5. Clinton said Tuesday the nominee shouldn’t be chosen “by 48 states.”
Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said the Illinois senator’s campaign is ready to make its case to superdelegates too.
“We’re gonna add popular votes tonight, we’re gonna add pledged delegates tonight and from now forward there are more superdelegates at stake than delegates. You’ll see a lot of emphasis put on calling and courting them,” he told FOX News.
Democratic Pollster Doug Schoen said he doesn’t think Clinton’s campaign will be drastically affected by Tuesday’s results.
“She won a victory, albeit a narrow victory,” he said. “The nomination process hasn’t played itself out. It’s supposed to go through June 3 for a reason.”
But many other pundits are questioning whether she can go on. Despite having the financial backing she needs to finish up the remaining contests, helped by a personal loan of $6.4 million in the last month, Clinton is fighting a perception problem.
“This was a big loss for her tonight, and people are a little rattled who support her,” Democratic strategist Kirsten Powers said early Wednesday morning. “I don’t think she’s going to drop out, but at the same time I think they have to reassess things.”
Obama is “clearly the presumptive presidential nominee,” said Obama backer Anna Burger, the secretary-treasurer of the Service Employees International Union.
“Senator Obama’s commanding win in North Carolina and close showing in Indiana means he is clearly the Democratic nominee for president,” Burger said. “We’ve had a long process and the outcome is now clear.”
How can everyone call this a split decision? Yesterday’s delegate results: Obama 94 to Clinton 75.
Remember that the delegates are not winner take all for each state. they are given out based on the percentage of the votes received.
Com’on fair and balanced. You’re usually better then this!
She still has good reason to stay in the race considering the Michigan and Florida votes.and her chances of winning in Kentucky and Virginia. This race is far from over yet.But she needs to show better judgment on her attacks of Obama and come up with a better message as to why she should be President.I think the gas tax holiday hurt her in the Indiana and North Carolina primaries.I am a Hillary Supporter But I will back Obama if he turns out to be the nominee because Im a democrat and we need our party in charge of the white house and I hope everyone else follows the democratic party with me .Whoever is to be our nominee will be good for us against McCain in the fall.Clinton or Obama 08
Everyone should keep in mind that Obama was ahead and expected to win Indiana, Expected tho win NC by 20-25. He did neither. Also, Clinton was outspent in both states 1-3.
Well Howard Dean and Obama are in the same league now; let’s see who can deceive the country first. Howard Dean is TRASH and he and Obama will bring the Democratic Party down. What has this country come to? If Obama is elected is will set this country back to the 60’s and beyond. This country has enough problems without what Obama will bring. The Rev. Wright thing and all the other stuff that has now come out and you people said he’s not lying. Give me a break! I think this whole country had better wake up and soon, or watch and see what happens. I was a Democrat until last night, but no more and a lot of my friends are saying the same thing. Hillary my advise to you is, if you don’t get the in tell all your supporters to vote for McCain at the convention that was fix Howard Dean.
hillary is not going to quit (then bill would have to pay off her debt ) she will remain in the race and her contribitors will have to pay if off for her. Thats why we voted against her … her outlook as if the people were just ants under her feet !!!!
congradutations go to Sen. Obama in his win over hillary . Now, on with the race .
Can REAL Democratic Americans tell Hillary the real truth please.
How many times does she want to continue losing with such big margins like N C?
Somebody really should talk to her to stop messing up the Democrat’s chance of getting the presidency. This is terrible.
With Rush attacking Obama, this must mean that Rush thinks McCain has a better chance of beating Clinton than defeating Obama. So for you Obama folks, Rush thinks Obama is going to beat Clinton.
All I can say is, “Hip, Hip, Hoorah!” Having two Bushes as president was bad enough, but to have two Clintons as presidents is a national disgrace.
Hillary told supporters that she would give them a ‘break’ at the pump in the summer, hello, she will not be able to change anything ‘ THIS’ summer, maybe next summer, but by then she will have too much on her plate to live up to that promise. Just my .02 .
Considering how many people have gone out of their way to sabotage Obama (Reverend Wright, Rush Limbaugh, the pro-Clinton media), the fact that he did so well yesterday is remarkable (it’s the first time in weeks that he has out-performed the polls).
Given the negative issues surrounding Obama the last couple of weeks, these primary results may also be an indicator of just how many people simply will not vote for Hillary Clinton. She can spin it any way she wants, but the math (delegates and total votes) just keeps getting worse and worse for her. The clock is running out: tick, tick, tick.
It appears as if the pundits want Clinton to throw the towel in now to enable Obama to take on McCain. How desperate!
While I do not support either Clinton nor Obama for the Presidency, I find it amusing that some are anxious to “anoint” one candidate over the other. This is an American process of electing our President. We should enjoy the process and be happy to continue it. As has already been demonstrated, many things can, and often do, happen to change the course of race and ultimately the outcome.
wait and see what the superdelegates do, you may be suprised. republicans now if obama is their opponent, they will surely win the white house election
The latest round of primaries show that Obama is clearly in the lead and that he should be the nominee. It’s no small wonder that Clinton is courting the super-delegates. They are really the only chance she now has. It just goes to show that to Clinton, the votes of the people do not matter. She is losing in the popular vote and pledged delegates. She should bow out now while she can still do it gracefully. As for counting Michigan and Florida, the delegates should be split evenly between them. That is really the only solution that allows their delegates to be seated in an equitable manner.
Anna…it’s people like you who skew the realities and help the undecided followers in life to make the wrong decision. It really doesn’t matter… the Republicans are going to win in November anyway…
In order for Clinton to win in the pledged delegates count, she needs to win 86% of the remaining popular vote, which I don’t think she can, even if Obama was dead. So far, Obama has won more popular votes, more states, and more pledged delegates.
It seems to me that the only way Clinton’s campaign could go on, is by asking the unpledged delegates to vote against the will of the people of the Democratic Party. If she succeeds in this effort, the Democratic Party will show us once again what it’s really about.
The exit polls were showing Obama dominating those college educated voters. I got to see first hand Tuesday why. Indiana is an open ballot state, you simply show your photo ID, tell them which ticket you want, and then vote. A kind lady in front of us approached the counter, and when asked which ballot she wanted, she replied, “Whichever one Clinton is on!”
If Obama is pushed to win. Eventhough clinton is leading in the popular vote once florida and michigan are added….This country is for sure going republican. Thats sad.
Hillary will never give up, even when its clear she has lost. She thought 2008 was her year, and she cannot comprehend that her coronation has been derailed. She will destroy the Democratic party if she believes it will get her the nomination in the end. It is now the job of the superdelegates to put this thing to rest; there is no way they can just give her the nomination over the will of the voters.
I think its the end of the road for hillary!
Obama is only winning because the voters in Michigan, Florida are losing and not being counted or allowed a re-vote by the Obama camp. The Obama camp is totally dishonest on their stand on this.
An honest question is why are Afican-Americans so overwelmingly voting for Obama? I really want to know.
Yesterday we have seen a true double-digit in North Carolina not the one Hillary pretended in PA. She should for once try to be gracious and bow out of the race. I doubted she is going to concede, she has proven to be so self centered.
I have been to North Carolina and what I saw was very unforutnate. What I saw was a lot of uneducated, racist black pepole - just like Mssrs. Wright & Obamma So, I’m not surprised that Obamma won in NC. I can only hope that the poor racist black people will find a way to improve their lives without having a decent paying job from a white person. All the white people I know are now focused on keeping the black man down after seeing so much black support for Obamma. Too bad for the blacks…
Once again, Democrats have taken one more step toward stupidity. The major, if not only, reason Obama is winning is due to spending. Now, I may not be an expert, but if Obama blows all his campaign money to win the primary, can he possibly get enough to take on McCain? If it takes this much money to beat a candidate who supposedly loses in every category except older white people with no college education, how can he possibly beat anyone else? Line up, give your money to Obama and hope that he doesn’t have a real meltdown against McCain. Clinton has been nice to him comparatively. Don’t expect McCain to pull punches.
Split Decision? Whoever came up with that banner must have fallen asleep early last night. Hillary “won” Indiana by less than 2%. Obama won the big state of North Carolina by more than 14% The race is over. Wake up.
I have alwyas voted democrat from the first time I could vote. If hillarywithdraws I will be voting for John McCain. I refuse to vote for Obama who in my opinion does not have the experience to be the President of the Untied States.
Lrose
Lord God I hope this is the end!!! I’m sick of John McCain having a clear field to himself while the Democrats fight amongst each other. Althought I didn’t vote for her, Hillary ran a heck of a campaign. She has nothing to be ashamed of. But now she’s alienating herself within the party. There is a difference between resilience and stubborness and it looks like stubborness at this point. Right now Obama would have to be crazy not to team up with her and take the White House at the head of a Obama/Clinton ticket. Hillary would still have her place in the history books as the first female VP and will more likely see the presidency after 8 years. Its just not her time now. Still all in all she is a kick-butt, hard as nails politician. There is alot to respect about her. But right now? OBAMA IS THE MAN!!!!
Obama ‘08!!!
I have buyers remorse for voting for Obama. I wish we could do this over.
It is really nice to sit back and watch these two liberals beat each other up, take turns getting pinned. Getting up and doing it again. Each claiming support from labor. Neither knows what it means to work that line. Black & Blue stained white collars tearing themselves apart. Big egos trashing and clashing. I hope they rumble all the way to the convention. Go McCain!!
It’s time Clinton quits and gets behind the party instead of trying to divide it.
She is staying in just to bloody up Obama so that he loses to McCain in November. She knows that will give her a chance to run again in 2008, where she will be the frontrunner for the nomination. If Obama wins that eliminates her chances of ever running again because she will be too old in 2012 or later. Once again with the Clintons it is only about what is best for them not for America or even their party.
BILL clinton has been speaking for his wife everywhere and is a well respected ex president HOWEVER, she still only one IN by 2% and lost HALF the vote to OBAMA there.?? that says alot!!
SHE still, Hillary Quote: “Could NOT close the deal”.
The Clintons should not regard politics as a do or die game as it is in developing countries. This is a civilized and United States where the world is watching, they should now call it off honorably. They should learn from Al Gore about 8 years ago.
They’re both nutty.
Yes, Obama is clearly the presidential nominee for the Democrats. If Clinton wants to waste her money, let her!
Go Obama - We love you!!!
Why can’t the American people see through Obama. This man is going to ruin the United States.
Linbaugh and the Republican’s he persuaded to vote for a Democratic candidate to ‘fix’ this election are undermining the Democratic principals that Young Americans are dying for in Iraq. It is dishonorable, dishonest and corrupt. Hilllary has not addressed this issue because Limbaugh is asking his listener’s to vote for her, it is undefensible.
It’s time to go Clinton!
I have sat back and watch the media fix this election from the beginning. Obama was the chosen one from the beginning the media and superdelegates decided before the people even started to vote. Hillary will be the president come nov 4th if not it will be john Mc Cain. Obama will NEVER be president. Hillary decomcrats for Mc Cain get in line behind me…..
I don’t believe Hillary Clinton really cares about the democratic party, but she deeply cares about her own legacy. She is hurting the party and needs to drop out now. If the opposition had been white, this would have been settled a long time ago. The remaining super delegates need to be stand-up “guys” and settle this for everybody concerned. The media keeps saying, “after this primary, she will not be able to continue”, but she’s still out there!!! I have never seen anything like this before. It’s just unbelieveable to me that she can get away with this. And she’s using the Michigan & Florida voters too, as her ace in the hole. I think she’s going to be sorry that she even opened that can of worms because I believe it will turn out like all the other states: most of the voters are for Obama. Let’s face it! He IS the nominee and has been for a long time. He’s won approx 3/4 of the entire country’s states already, what more does he have to do?? Somebody needs to tell Hillary, “guess what? you’ve been throwing your campaign money down a hole because you never had a chance!”
God bless us, we need the prayers we have lost our minds. We voted for Bush and now Obama
we need prayers.
Bye, Hillary! It’s time to stop playing with your toys and go back to the Senate! You’ve lost!
well well folks seems the clinton campaign has to pull out the dirt to win the nonimation, they are broke behind in delegates and i hope my daughter dont works in the white house as an intern
GET OUT OF THE RACE HILLARY
Clinton should step down ASAP.It is not the sign of figter but it is the fact of distroying the Obama and Democratic Party. She can not undestand that sombody else will be elected and not Clinton. Her negativity and prolonging her campain just bring the waves agaist her and it could demaged her for the long period of time.
Indiana counting the votes is very, very suspicios and should be investigated.
Just go away Hilary. You have done enough damage.
Does young blacks (mostly in urban area) = hard woring middle age folks ?
Obama got his votes from these young black people.
How can Hillary with a straight face ask for the votes of Florida and Michigan to count when she agreed at the beginning to note include them? She flips flops big time.. let’s not mention the “under fire” comments she made. Do we want someone like this as our Commander and Chief?
Obama has proven he can weather any diversions and so-called controversies. After the worse month yet of his presidency, the American people have proven that they are not interested in distractions this time. Too long distractions have kept this great country divided and unable to make meaningful progress on health care, education,… This time the people are participating in huge humbers and are not falling for old tricks and gimmicks.
When is Hillary going to catch on that her problem is people do not trust her?
I agree with Patricia up ahead..American people have lost their minds..first voting for Bush now trying to get Obama in office.Democrats have a better chance in office with Hillary against another Bush in Mc Cain..SUPPORT OUR TROOPS,BRING THEM HOME!
This whole primary is just amazing to me. With this type of desperation (in my humble opinon) displayed by Clinton, it makes it appear that it truly is all about her and not about what’s best for the party… She truly believes this is”her turn”, and it she looks like a sore looser instead of a gracious opponent. It’s embarrasing to watch. - and I’m not even a democrat.
Well, if Mrs. Clinton is, as she says, “fighting for the people of this country” should she not do what is right for “the people” and step aside and let winning in November be the right thing to do?
Hillary Clinton, dont’ seen to care about Democracy, Democratic Party rules nor do she respect the will of the American People. The only thing she cares about is obliterating Iran and the Democratic Party. Superdelegates who is supporting Hillary Clinton is time to Obliterate her before she go broke and have your family needing her 30 cents per day for three months Gas tax Holiday Rebate.
Hillary needs to ask a fifth grader about her chances. As the totals stand today, if she pulled slightly more than half of the remaining pledged delegates (116), she would still need 225 of the remaining 269 undecided superdelegates to win the nomination. That’s not going to happen. Accept reality and resign from the race with some dignity.
I TOTALLY agree with most of you! I think Clinton should step down for the Democratic nomination! I think she should let the Democratic party HAVE Obama and run independent! The party elders have already shown who they want! They want him, let em have him!
Clinton is still a viable candidate and will continue to be a viable candidate in the general election!
As much as I cannot stand McCain I will vote for him over Obama. I do not want Hillary to quit. He has the black vote and that is all. I do not like him at all.
Obama can not win the national election against McCain. I’m Hillary first, McCain second so get with it people, if Obama is our man, we lose again as myself and many others will have to back McCain.
We need a president who is at least likable to half of the country and trustworthy and respectable to the majority. The president must also be respectable to the citizens of the world. Hillary with her baggage and lies fails on all accounts. RESPECTED Democrats realize it would be a catastrophe to have Hillary on the ticket, and her sheer cussedness is what keeps her going. The sooner we get ALL of the Clintons assigned to oblivion, the sooner we Americans can hold our heads up to the world!
Actually, the crowning of a nominee before the conventions is the unsual thing. And since the Democratic party started doing that, they have essentially lost the presidency. The DNC set up an extremely stupid system for choosing its nominee so that caucuses that represent an extremely small part of even the Democratic party have a huge influence on who wins as does the arcane rules of allocating delegates: e.g., Clinton won the popular vote in Texas but got less delegates. Leaving out Florida and Michigan will guarantee an Obama nomination but also guarantee a McCain win in November. Take a look at the Electoral College map. It will be President McCain come November. Yahoo!
apparently hillary believes she can wish-away the gap between her and obama.
I think it’s unfair that Hillary be treated differently because of her sex - as a “Woman” running for president. She should be treated just like a man running for office, a person with values and principals. Like, what would you think of a man who ignored his spouse having “non sex” with somebody in their house while he was there?
McCain 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hillary is only 156 delegates behind Obama
He does not have enough delegates and he can’t close the deal. He will not close the deal in November
Americans will wake up. We elected Bush and now people want someone worse than Bush
God bless us
Patricia,
Are you agreeing with yourself or is there another Patricia?

Jay are you trying to say that one person’s vote should not equal another’s because of age, race and/or financial status?
The Clintons’ are going to do what ever it takes to steal the votes from Obama, no matter that Their own party made the rules that cause Florida delegates not be seated, mathematically with those she can’t win. Did anyone notice how red faced Billy was, he is so peeved that he isn’t going to be back running a muck in the white house.. Get a clue Clinton’s you are done, go home.. get out while you still have some respect and do the honorable thing. bow out gracefully. Can you do that? Don’t bully people into switching, that is why those you had in your clutches are jumping ship.
I think for a person to say that they will not support the Dem nominee if it is not there candidate and will chose McCain is plain stupid. I guess that can be expected from some uneducated voters.
Obama is the one who needs to wake up! He cannot win the election on Black votes. It is impossible! As a superdelagate I would never vote from someone who cannot get everyone’s vote and wins only because of one group. Take NC for example. Remove the 33% Black vote and guees what? He loses. Look at In., take away the black vote and she wins by over 20%. You’ll see that same trend in every state so far. he is not winning, he’s helping the Rep. John McCain to win! How sad that we will get 4 more years of what we have unless all superdelagates do what they know in their hearts we must do.
Mike
It is sad to see what Hillary is doing to the Democratic Party—the country is watching as she continues to run without any hope of winning—just to try to wear out her opponent?? The fact that she has won narrow voctories is due to the Operation Chaos that has Republicans voting for her—just to prolong the agony and in-fighting that exists in the Democratic Party—not because they want her to be President——-of course her spin is that Republicans are coming over to “Her” side and voting for her—it’s a joke.
For the good of the Dem Party–HILLARY–PULL OUT!! I am not a Democrat but feel sorry for what she is doing to the party!@!
Maybe Hillary thinks there could be another Obama scandal that will hurt his reputation and if she can hang in there long enough, she still has a shot. But apparently Obama supporters don’t really care about the people he associates with or his empty “time for a change” slogan so even if there is another scandal on the horizon, it probably won’t make any difference. Why is a person’s character not important anymore?
Hillary needs to get over herself and stand aside for the good of the party. I have always voted Republican but will vote for Obama if he gets the nomination. I will not vote for Hillary even if it comes down to voting for McCain which makes my stomach turn to think about voting for the Republicans after the way they have screwed things up.
I don’t get it. Why is that OBama can literally say and do anything he wants and it is fine - no one cares. Whether he talks down to the average Joe, wants to raise our taxes, supports reverse racism in a round about way, or generally promises the moon with out a viable plan to get it. I personally need more than words such as Change and Hope.
America you can do better.
The DNC wants to apply AFFIRMATIVE action by giving the nomination to Barak Obama.
Last time I checked, all 50 states vote for president NOT just 48.
They are LOWERING the bar by excluding Florida and Michigan. and giving the general election
to John McCain.
The first time President Obama gives his “Change” speech at a foreign affairs event, the leaders of the other countries of the world will have to do all from laughing in his face…..
This is not the Wizard of Oz, it’s real life…….If Hillary loses the nomination, I will vote for McCain.
OK, over 60 and a child of the 60’s is what this gal is. A former bra burner that just doesn’t understand that she is done. Her tie-dyed clothes and her ideas are from a different era and this is the 21st century.
If she hadn’t rode Bubba’s zipper to fame, she’d be an ACLU ambulance chaser instead of a US senator. She has done zip on her own, and like many weak women, depends on her worthless husband to give her life meaning.
OBAMA ‘08
It is time for the analysts and the commentators and the pundits to refocus their analysis, comments and predictions on the national election. Let’s start with:
Can Obama win the national election? Start with that. That will be the beginning and the end of your analysis, commentary and prognosis - because he can’t. 99.9% of the black vote and 99.9 % of the college students are not going to win him the national election.
She just does not get the message, does she! The Clintons are done, kaput, finished!
I do not believe that Clintons run for the presidency has never been about patritisn, love of Country, desire to help people or any other such honorable thing. I has and always will be about power & greed and nothing more ( they just want to enlarge thier slice of the pie). She and her Husband, and unfortunately it looks like the daughter too crave nothing but power and the ability to turn it into money afterwards. My gravest concern is that if Obama was to be elected he would try and turn this Country against Israel who are our only real trustworthy ally in that area of the world. As a country we would also be turning against God’s elect, and that is not good at all.
Clinton is looking foolish. Obama is the clear front runner. All the democrats have done is given the election to the republicans, and that is fine with me.
HILLARY DEMOCRATS WILL VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN.
HILLARY CLINTON for PRESIDENT 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This race has turned into whites against blacks. This is very sad. I don’t see any uniting either. You could see this coming too, when CNN & MSNBC has crowned Obama the nominee from the day he won the Iowa primary. I see trouble ahead and this country more divided than ever. If Obama wins and does not pull Hillary in as VP, he will definitely lose to McCain in Nov.
I know my post will not show up - still why is OBama given a clean slate? What exactly does he plan to do for this nation beyond a lot of lip service about Change and hope? So far all I see is that he will be expensive. He sure loves to spend money and if elected - he will need more of mine and I don’t have enough as it is.

If Obama is pushed to win. Eventhough clinton is leading in the popular vote once florida and michigan are added….This country is for sure going republican. Thats sad.
Actually Ethan with the 200,000+ net gain in popular votes that Obama acheived yesterday he is about 100,000 votes ahead even including Florida and Michigan (which more fair-minded people agree should be recontested or not counted as per the rules at the start of the contest).
His chancing are getting better, but having a black president in the U.S,do you guys think it is really possible.
I wonder about those here who keep stating that they will vote for McCain over Obama…. Seems those of you that are saying that and are Hillary supporters. Is this a strategy or scare tactic used against fellow democrats to get Hillary the nomination? hmmmm…..
You go girl - as in go away!
Two lackluster candidates; the contest is a joke. However, the Republican candidate isn’t very strong either. Once again, it will be the lesser-of-two-evils in November. Politics are too political. Sincerely, John
The Clinton’s are toast and Obama isn’t going to win the White House either. The nation will be saved.
Hillary is doing nothing wrong to the Democratic party. She is proving that it is truly Democratic. If you remember, there are 50 states in these here United States and Oregon has to vote. I thought the U.S. was about choices, not having a one person election. God you people are clueless. Obama is green and he will not make things better for America. He actually scares me. There is something so odd about the cult-like atomosphere surrounding him. Beware, he should be watched very carefully.
Also, Hillary haters, you should stop hating. I am finding that I am hating Obama as much as you Hillary and that definitely is not a good thing.
To break the 2025 mark, Hillary needs to win 70% of EVERY state left. As well as 70% of the superdelegates.
Obama only needs to win 38% of each state and 38% all remaining superdelegates to reach that same mark.
The numbers speak for themselves. Hillary needs to realize that she needs to get out now (or better yet, admit that she should have gotten out back in February). I really don’t want a President who can’t understand or process basic 4th grade math.
