McCain to Make Appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’

SEATTLE — Live from New York, it’s John McCain.

The Republican presidential contender will make a cameo appearance this week on NBC-TV’s “Saturday Night Live,” a comedy venue that most recently has been focused on the ongoing Democratic presidential contest.

Aides traveling with McCain on in the Pacific Northwest said the Arizona senator will appear on the program, to be hosted by comedian Steve Carrell, although they were mum about the details of his sketch.

Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton have both appeared and been lampooned on the program in recent months. McCain, meanwhile, has been on the show one time previously.

During his weekend in New York, McCain also plans a series of media interviews, including one with Glamour magazine.

My parents were Democrats back in the day when it was an honorable party (Fight for the blue collar worker, The rights of “U.S.” Citizens, God Bless America, etc.). I first registered to vote as a Democrat. What I’m trying to say is that Saturday Night Live has not been at all funny as it was the last time I voted Democrat nor is it as funny as the Democratic Party is today.
