Obama Hires Former Clinton Campaign Manager to Be VP Pick Aide

Border

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign announced 15 new members of the general election team Monday, including Patti Solis Doyle, Hillary Clinton’s former chief of staff, and Stephanie Cutter, who had until now been Sen. Ted Kennedy’s communications director.

Solis Doyle will become the chief of staff to the as-yet-to-be named vice presidential pick. She left the Clinton campaign after Clinton suffered unexpected defeats to Obama in the four contests Obama swept following his surprisingly strong showing on Super Tuesday. Clinton had expected to wrap up the nomination by that time, and Solis Doyle took the fall for the “inevitability” strategy that failed to get Clinton nominated.

Cutter will be Michelle Obama’s chief of staff. Jim Messina, who had been Sen. Max Baucus’ chief of staff, will now serve as Obama’s chief of staff.

Campaign Manager David Plouffe said the new hires “will help broaden and deepen the reach of this campaign for change — from field organizing to constituency outreach to voter registration.”

Hilliary was a very popular candidate winning the popular vote, to insure A democratic win, Obama should choose Hilliary! Why take any chances of even a possible loss of the election…..Only with Hilliary can he be assured of a win! And It will only make her supporters less likely to vote for Obama if he continues to disrespect her. With the party split in half, how can he expect to win? If at least half the democrates chose Hilliary to run our country as president, then what kind of reasoning are they using to justify not picking Mrs. Clinton. They should put personal differences aside and put the party and country as priority. I will vote Obama/Hilliary if that is the choice.

In reply to Linda Gorman:

Your Comment was brilliant but that is also what scares me about Obama! He knows some people are easily swayed by what they don’t understand; it offers some escape from reality and Obama preys on this. That’s his style.

Forgive me dear friend, but when you say, “He isn’t smart enough” you make the mistake so many make. This man has a very highly trained mind and a phenomenal grasp of what to do to achieve his sinister goals. Many make the mistake of underestimating his ability [I gather from the spirit of your Comment we are on the same side, so I can add Hillary also underestimated him and look what happened to her!]. This man is brilliantly clever and highly intelligent, which makes him extremely dangerous to carry the White House keys. I pray enough Americans will realize it and how important it is to go pull that lever on voting day in November.

In reply to Linda Gorman:

Of further concern; in many cases the young people who will be voting for change that’s undefined couldn’t tell you about how our Government works. It’s alarming that many people today can tell you all about reality show contenstants and winners but can’t tell you who the current V.P. or Speaker of the House is.

I know exactly what you mean.

Here are just a few snippets from those who support Obama:

The President leads Congress (I didn’t even try to respond to this)
The US is a democracy (this person didn’t know what a republic was)
The “people” (as in popular vote) elect the President (Electoral college? What’s that?)

These are the ones I remembered off the top of my head. I know there are more, but I am very tired right now and the synapses? Not firing so fast.

Not to say all young voters (or young voters for Obama) make these mistakes.

I am fairly young myself (30s). I have read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. I know how our government works and what we stand for as a nation. That’s why the rest of the world has always looked down on us.

This is the worst election in history, a no name senator, who no one knew, and put him in on a speech alone. Now, he wants to unify, well why is he using someone Hillary fired? What a slap in the face!!!! He will never get my vote! He isn’t smart enough to be President and it shows, and why hand the White House to a wife that isn’t happy to be an American. He is through with the women. McCain in 08

Has anyone on the Obama team considered former Sec. of Defense Cohen for the VP Slot. I know that he is a Republican but I think he is a very level headed thinker. He doesn’t strike me as the type to let politics get in front of what needs to be done.

John Mcain should go with “Condoleezza Rice” or “Colin Powell” as Vp ticket before obama does .
